Lupercalia was an ancient pagan festival held each year in Rome on "February 15. Although Valentine’s Day shares its name with a martyred Christian saint, some historians believe the holiday is actually an offshoot of Lupercalia. Unlike Valentine’s Day, however, Lupercalia was a bloody, violent and sexually-charged celebration awash with animal sacrifice, random matchmaking and coupling in the hopes of warding off evil spirits and infertility.

No one knows the exact origin of Lupercalia, but it has been traced back as far as the 6th century B.C. According to Roman legend, the ancient King Amulius ordered Romulus and Remus—his twin nephews and founders of Rome—to be thrown into the Tiber River to drown in retribution for their mother’s broken vow of celibacy.

A servant took pity on them, however, and placed them inside a basket on the river instead. The river-god carried the basket and the brothers downriver to a wild fig tree where it became caught in the branches. The brothers were then rescued and cared for by a she-wolf in a den at the base of Palatine Hill where Rome was founded.

The twins were later adopted by a shepherd and his wife and learned their father’s trade. After killing the uncle who’d ordered their death, they found the cave den of the she-wolf who’d nurtured them and named it Lupercal.

It’s thought Lupercalia took place to honor the she-wolf and please the Roman fertility god Lupercus.

Lupercalia rituals took place in a few places: Lupercal cave, on Palatine Hill and within the Roman open-air, public meeting place called the Comitium. The festival began at Lupercal cave with the sacrifice of one or more male goats—a representation of sexuality—and a dog. The sacrifices were performed by Luperci, a group of Roman priests. Afterwards, the foreheads of two naked Luperci were smeared with the animals’ blood using the bloody, sacrificial knife. The blood was then removed with a piece of milk-soaked wool as the Luperci laughed.

In Ancient Rome, feasting began after the ritual sacrifice. When the feast of Lupercal was over, the Luperci cut strips, also called thongs or februa, of goat hide from the newly-sacrificed goats. They then ran naked or nearly-naked around Palantine whipping any woman within striking distance with the thongs. Many women welcomed the lashes and even bared their skin to receive the fertility rite; it’s open to speculation what the lashes represented. During Lupercalia, the men randomly chose a woman’s name from a jar to be coupled with them for the duration of the festival. Often, the couple stayed together until the following year’s festival. Many fell in love and married. Over time, nakedness during Lupercalia lost popularity. The festival became more chaste, if still undignified, and women were whipped on their hands by fully-clothed men.

In Plutarch’s Life of Julius Caesar, Caesar famously refuses a golden crown presented to him by Mark Antony during the feast of Lupercalia.

There are several legends surrounding the life of Saint Valentine. The most common is that on one February 14 during the 3rd century A.D., a man named Valentine was executed by the Roman Emperor Claudius II after being imprisoned for assisting persecuted Christians and secretly marrying Christian couples in love. As the story goes, during Valentine’s imprisonment he tried converting Claudius to Christianity. Claudius became enraged and ordered Valentine to reject his faith or be killed. He refused to forsake his faith, so Valentine was beheaded. Legend also tells of another story that happened during Valentine’s imprisonment after he tutored a girl named Julia, the blind daughter of his jailer. The legend states God restored Julia’s sight after she and Valentine prayed together. On the eve of his execution, Valentine supposedly penned a note to Julia and signed it, “From your Valentine. Biden’s DHS to Release 25.6K Migrants into Texas, California Communities

President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is planning to release about 25,600 migrants, who have been in Mexico, into American communities in Texas and California, Breitbart News has learned.

After Biden ended the “Remain in Mexico” policy — which drastically reduced asylum fraud by keeping migrants in Mexico while they await their asylum hearings in the United States — DHS announced that it would begin processing the 25,600 migrants in the program on February 19.

Ultimately, the migrants will enter the U.S. interior.

Internal communications Breitbart News has reviewed reveal that DHS plans to release the migrants in San Diego, California; El Paso, Texas; and Brownsville, Texas — locations the Biden administration refused to divulge to the Associated Press when asked.

In San Diego, DHS plans to process and release about 300 migrants a day within two weeks of February 19. The same will be done in El Paso, the internal communications reveal. In Brownsville, DHS will process and release no more than 100 migrants a day.

DHS officials stated in a news release last week that the Remain in Mexico migrants “will be tested for COVID-19 [Chinese coronavirus] before entering” the U.S. Internal communications at DHS, though, does not mention plans to require coronavirus tests for migrants.

Currently, DHS is releasing thousands of border crossers into the U.S. without requiring that they undergo coronavirus tests. White House press secretary Jen Psaki seemingly confirmed that DHS is releasing border crossers without test requirements.

After Remain in Mexico migrants are released, DHS does not have any plans to track them. Instead, these migrants will be mixed in with all other border crossers and illegal aliens who have been released into the U.S. interior while awaiting asylum and immigration hearings.

A source close to Breitbart News said the orders to release Remain in Mexico migrants into the U.S. interior came from top officials at DHS, mainly deputies of Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, and the White House.

As Breitbart News reported last week, the Biden administration has surged the release of border crossers into the U.S. interior since restarting the Catch and Release program. In the first 10 days of February, DHS released at least 2,000 border crossers into the country. For comparison, in December 2020 before Remain in Mexico was ended, DHS had released just 11 border crossers.

Federal immigration agents have also had to deal with an influx of Haitian illegal aliens after DHS canceled deportation flights. The move, as Breitbart News exclusively reported, has crowded federal facilities along the U.S.-Mexico border as agents are being ordered to release the illegal aliens into local communities.

DHS officials did not respond to a request for comment at the time of this article’s publication.

Texas Sheriff: ‘Clear Evidence’ Illegal Immigration Soaring Under Joe Biden

There is “clear evidence” illegal immigration is soaring at the United States-Mexico border due to President Joe Biden’s policies, a former Texas sheriff says.

In an exclusive interview with SiriusXM Patriot’s Breitbart News Saturday, retired Rockwall County Sheriff Harold Eavenson said recent southern border apprehension totals reveal how the Biden administration is returning to the Obama-era days of high illegal immigration levels, with pro-migration policies the driving the increase.

“A lot of those people that come into our country are involved in illegal activity and have criminal records when they come into our country and they do the same here as they were doing elsewhere before they made entry,” Eavenson said. “And that puts a strain on the infrastructure of any sheriff’s office, especially those border counties.”

“It happened under the Obama administration and with all of the arrests that took place in January, 78,000 was higher than any January in the last decade,” Eavenson said. “That’s clear evidence that we’re starting to see an influx of illegals into our country.”

As Eavenson referenced, more than 75,000 border crossers were apprehended at the U.S.-Mexico border last month — the highest level of illegal immigration in the month of January since 2006.

The surge of illegal immigration occurred as Biden ended the anti-fraud Remain in Mexico policy, restarted the Catch and Release program, ended cooperative asylum agreements with Central America, has halted most interior immigration enforcement, and has attempted to halt deportations for most illegal aliens for 100 days.

“The government, by doing what they’re doing, is violating the oldest and simplest justification that they have protecting its citizens,” Eavenson said. “It’s wrong, absolutely wrong, and not in the best interests of the citizens of this country.”

Eavenson told Breitbart News Saturday that between 2016 to 2020, the Trump administration worked in “cooperation and collaboration” with local communities to help minimize “illegal access to our country by” illegal aliens.

“The arrest numbers went down, the crime numbers went down,” Eavenson said.

Now, Eavenson said Biden seems to be bringing back the Obama years when Border Patrol and local sheriffs are “not permitted to do their job” in terms of arresting illegal aliens and turning them over to federal immigration officials for deportation.

“And now we’re going to see … a rise in those numbers because of a change in policy from the Trump administration to the Biden administration which is — apparently going to be the same — what we saw under the Obama administration,” Eavenson said.

With the Chinese coronavirus crisis, and economic lockdowns, still taking its toll on the nation, Eavenson questioned how it is feasible “to check all of these people that want to come into our country.”

“When you couple [the coronavirus threat] with the threat of increased criminal activity which we know will happen because it happened under the Obama administration, the citizens of our country are at risk because our government under these policies are not doing what they are supposed to be doing,” Eavenson said.

Speculative Conclusions

Given her multitude of connections, both family and personal, and the details of her life, it is almost inconceivable that Diana was not an 'insider' - at least at some level.
For a member of such a storied elite family, with generational and personal connections to the royals, it seems very unlikely that she would have been unaware of what the elites get up to in their spare time.
Her life contains details that indicate that it is possible that her 'life story' was pre-planned.
If she did discover something that made her feel the need to divorce Charles after 15 years and then run for her life almost a year later, why did this discovery take her so long to make?

It is my personal conclusion that Diana was a member of the cabal, was aware of and participated in their activities, and was presumably chosen as a sacrificial victim long before she died - possibly even before she was born. The Insurrection Lie II: False Reports From January 6th Continue to Unravel.

On January 13, 2021, The National Pulse called the almost ubiquitous, false reporting about the events at the Capitol on January 6 “The Insurrection Lie.” This was contrary to some other conservative media outlets, such as National Review, which published a piece on January 17 calling the events at the Capitol “impeachable.”

Our view, groundbreaking at the time, has been vindicated in the ensuing month. Tucker Carlson last week called the media’s reporting on the events a “lie.” Following is an update to our coverage based on recent disclosures.

Ritualizing The Lie.

On January 13, we reported:

A Capitol Police officer died of a stroke the day after the riot; but it is not known what may have happened during the melee that would provide a causal connection. His brother stated that he had communicated with the officer after the event: “He texted me last night and said, ‘I got pepper-sprayed twice,’ and he was in good shape.” Sometime after the riot, he returned to his division office and collapsed. It has been reported that the Capitol Police initially issued a statement denying that a police officer had died as a result of injuries sustained in the attack. Based on available facts (which may change) it is speculative to say at this time that he was murdered or slain. His family has made a plea that the death not be politicized.

Update: The National Pulse has since reported that early reports Officer Sicknick was hit with a fire extinguisher were false, and the New York Times has backed away from the claim. Revolver has done a deep dive into these events, raising further questions about the cause of death.

Based on available facts, it is reasonable to conclude that Sicknick’s death was not caused by the protest. Nevertheless, against the family’s wishes, the death has been used politically. Sicknick became only the fifth person to receive the distinction of lying in honor at the Capitol Rotunda. Alarmingly, this was done to ritualize the unsupported claim that he was slain by rioters. Democrat House impeachment managers alleged an “armed insurrection” based on the false assertion that Sicknick was struck with a fire extinguisher. The United States Capitol is surrounded by razor wire and secured by military units on the premise that its previous security was breached by armed insurrectionists who murdered a police officer.

It is a lie.

Creating the Lie.

On January 13, we reported:

The First Amendment of the United States Constitution guarantees the “right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” On January 6, 2021, hundreds of thousands of citizens traveled to the nation’s capital to exercise their Constitutional right to peacefully protest. This was their grievance: Seventy-five million had cast their ballots for Trump on election day. Then, in the wee hours, when Las Vegas oddsmakers were calling a Trump victory, counting inexplicably stopped, and a disproportionate number of Biden votes appeared. The Biden votes were primarily from Democrat-controlled cities: Detroit, Philadelphia, Atlanta, and Milwaukee. They were culled from mail-in ballots, an accommodation hurriedly retrofitted into the voting system because of a pandemic. The election’s statistical anomalies were mind boggling, including Republican dominance down ballot, Trump’s significant support among minority voters, and his victory in all traditional bellwethers. In June, Attorney General Bill Barr sat for an interview in CNN’s Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer and warned of fraud with mail-in voting. He said: “People trying to change the rules to this, to this methodology – which, as a matter of logic, is very open to fraud and coercion – is reckless and dangerous and people are playing with fire.” Some of the new voting procedures were ordered by state governors and health officials even though Article II of the Constitution delegates rule-making for elections exclusively to state legislatures. The Washington protesters had reason to ask: Did someone pull a fast one?

The Bank of Japan, like most central banks around the world, is watching carefully, to see how the military leaders could affect bilateral and regional cooperation on monetary policy and financial stability.

The move brought back stark memories of the country's decades of military rule, when it was closed off from much of the world. The period of isolation began to change when the military embraced reforms at the beginning of the last decade, with foreign investors flooding into the largely untapped market rich with natural resources.

Japanese companies and financial institutions made significant inroads in Myanmar in the past decade, expecting the market to grow rapidly as it moved toward democracy.

Public and private Japanese players helped Myanmar build its financial and market infrastructure. The Japan International Cooperation Agency contributed to the core systems at the Central Bank of Myanmar, as a joint project with NTT Data and the Daiwa Institute of Research.

The BOJ shares deep connections to the Central Bank of Myanmar as well. It has trained staffers for the Myanmar bank at its head office in Tokyo, and assigned its alumni to advise the Myanmar bank.

What brought Myanmar deeper into the region's fold was the Chiang Mai Initiative. The currency swap agreement, designed so members assist each other with liquidity in times of crisis, originally launched with Japan, China, South Korea and five countries in Southeast Asia. The remaining members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, including Myanmar, have since joined the framework.

Myanmar formally joined the Chiang Mai Initiative in 2010, during BOJ Gov. Haruhiko Kuroda's tenure as president of the Asian Development Bank. The ADB on Feb. 2 issued a statement saying it was "deeply concerned about the current situation in Myanmar, which could constitute a serious setback to the country's transition and development prospects."

The U.S. has decided to impose sanctions on Myanmar military officials over the coup, while China, a major economic partner for Myanmar, has largely kept silent.

Turning back the clock on democracy could affect future public and private investments in Myanmar. There is also concern over how the coup can affect Myanmar's membership in the Chiang Mai Initiative.

"The initiative is an important link for Myanmar to the international community, but the country may have a harder time using it under protracted military rule," a source at the BOJ said. Some at the Japanese bank worry that developments in Myanmar could undermine international monetary cooperation.

UK's 'Do Not Resuscitate' Orders Drawing Anger

Wrongheaded public policies implemented in attempts to stem the spread of COVID-19 have caused more harm than good in many cases here in the United States. But in the United Kingdom, outrage is growing about a particularly pernicious public health directive: ‘Do Not Resuscitate’ orders for categories of patients with COVID.

These DNR orders first shocked the public across the UK back in December. A quality care organization revealed that certain nursing home residents with COVID were tagged with DNR orders due to other health conditions.

Do-not-resuscitate orders were wrongly allocated to some care home residents during the Covid-19 pandemic, causing potentially avoidable deaths, the first phase of a review by England’s Care Quality Commission has found.

The regulator warned that some of the “inappropriate” do not attempt cardiopulmonary resuscitation (DNACPR) notices applied in the spring may still be in place and called on all care providers to check with the person concerned that they consent.

In many cases, according to the Care Quality Commission (CQC), family members were unaware of these orders being placed on their relatives in the nursing homes.

The CQC received 40 submissions from the public, mostly about DNACPR orders that had been put in place without consulting with the person or their family. These included reports of all the residents of one care home being given a DNACPR notice, and of the notices routinely being applied to anyone infected with Covid.

Some people reported that they did not even know a DNACPR order had been placed on their relative until they were quite unwell.

Additionally, these blanket orders resulted in “avoidable” deaths, according to the CQC. These orders were placed during the first wave of COVID and CQC stated that overwhelming confusion may have led to the situation.

But fast forward to this week and the news has gotten even more disturbing. According to Mencap, a disability advocacy group in the UK, new blanket DNR orders during the second wave of COVID targeted patients with learning disabilities.

Edel Harris, Mencap’s chief executive, said: “Throughout the pandemic many people with a learning disability have faced shocking discrimination and obstacles to accessing healthcare, with inappropriate Do Not Attempt Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (DNACPR) notices put on their files and cuts made to their social care support.

“It’s unacceptable that within a group of people hit so hard by the pandemic, and who even before Covid died on average over 20 years younger than the general population, many are left feeling scared and wondering why they have been left out.

This population was supposed to have been fast-tracked for COVID vaccines as well. That’s because people with learning disabilities are at greater risk of death from COVID. In fact, disabled patients aged 18 to 34 are 30 times more likely to die of COVID than others in that age group.

NHS figures released last week show that in the five weeks since the third lockdown began, Covid-19 accounted for 65% of deaths of people with learning disabilities. Figures from the Office for National Statistics show that the rate for the general population was 39%, although the two statistics are drawn from different measurements.

However, Mencap notes that vaccinations of the disabled population are moving at a glacial pace despite the overwhelming risk.

“It’s unacceptable that within a group of people hit so hard by the pandemic, and who even before Covid died on average over 20 years younger than the general population, many are left feeling scared and wondering why they have been left out.

“The JCVI and government must act now to help save the lives of some of society’s most vulnerable people by urgently prioritising all people with a learning disability for the vaccine.”

Hopefully, elected and appointed officials in the United Kingdom, the United States, and around the world will do some serious soul searching when the crisis has ebbed. Many very bad decisions were made early on in the pandemic, but they appear to be continuing today.

Syrian army says Israeli jets target Damascus countryside after Iran warns of repercussions

Israeli aircraft have pelted area outside Damascus with missiles, Syria’s state media reported. The reported air raid comes shortly after Tehran warned Tel Aviv against “crossing red lines” in Syria, vowing stark response.

Israeli jets rained down missiles on the area in the vicinity of Damascus from the occupied Golan Heights and Israel's northern Galilee region in the early hours of Monday, Syria’s SANA news agency reported. The Syrian military said that its air defences intercepted “most of the missiles.”

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) routinely strike Syria’s territory under the pretext of wiping out Iranian targets there to prevent Tehran from gaining a foothold in the region. Israeli rarely acknowledges its incursions into the Syrian territory, in line with its long-standing policy not to comment on bombing raids overseas.

The fresh barrage of missiles hit the outskirts of the Syrian capital shortly after Ali Asghar Khaji, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif’s senior aide for special political affairs, chided Israel for “aggressive and hostile” policies in Syria. In an interview to Sputnik published on Sunday, the official said that while Iranian forces operate in Syria at the request of the government to fight terrorists, “Israel supports them.”

He also warned Tel Aviv of “crossing the red lines” in Syria, noting that it shall brace itself for “the toughest response” in this case.

Ex-FBI attorney Kevin Clinesmith, who was recently sentenced to 12 months of probation, has been temporarily suspended from practicing law in Washington.

The D.C. Bar, the official organization responsible for licensing and disciplining attorneys in the area, indicated on its website that Clinesmith received a suspension “on an interim basis based upon his conviction of a serious crime in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.”

Clinesmith was sentenced on Jan. 29 to 12 months of probation after he pleaded guilty to falsifying an email that FBI agents relied on to obtain a secret court warrant to spy on a former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.

The misconduct occurred at a time when Clinesmith served as the primary FBI attorney assigned to the “Crossfire Hurricane” investigation. He was tasked to probe into whether Page was a source of the CIA before the FBI applied for another warrant against the Trump associate.

ADDITIONALLY: I posted the above (slightly edited for clarity) last night and this morning. It gathered noteable and positive feedback. However, no one offered any quality recommendations on how to stay coordinated, so I'll take this a step further. I recommend we utilize the titles of the bread as the current hashtagged message that we want all anons translating to Twitter.

The titles that bakers have been making are witty and humorous and I admire their creativity. However, they offer zero utility. By making the title of a bread "Q Research General #16502: #hashtag" then "#16503: #hashtag 2.0" until our momentum runs out, it puts the message that anons in the board have agreed to front and center for other anons to recognize at a glance. When we need a new message, "#16504: Need New #" or something similar.

In order to agree on a hashtagged message to utilize, it is up to anons in the board to include a recommended hashtag along with their noteable posts, or for anons to respond to noteables with a hashtag recommendation. As other anons confirm "anon seconds #hashtag" "anon thirds #hashtag" etc., the baker will know we have consensus on our new message and update new bread titles accordingly.

Other benefit is this will clearly point out shill bakers who don't cooperate. I will consider all responses and recommendations of other anons and continue to edit, clarify, and push this message at least once a day because the importance of our organization, coordination, and translation of our GIANT VOICE into the public realm is of utmost importance.

The 70-voice Atlanta Women’s Chorus is a talented, diverse group of all ages, backgrounds and beliefs. This post is very difficult for me to write. It took me some time to confirm the happenings in DC. But it was confirmed. I was sent pictures of some of the tunnels and children in those tunnels. I cannot show those pics. It is too horrific. I am sorry I looked at them.

These tunnels in the dumbs were there since that monster George HW Bush ordered them built. and have been used by every president and congress since then, up until Trump. Epstein who is still in custody informed the military about these. Epstein is continuing to give intel on tunnels around the world. The Military informed Trump in Jan. Trump ordered the operation and moved out of the white house so they could go in and take care of it. That is why so many NG were there.

Most of you saw the buses, vans, and cars going in and out of the white house and the capitol building. The NG soldiers couldn't take the site of all these children in that horrific state. Some of them started crying and just couldn't stop crying over it. I have been to horrific scenes before in my police career, but nothing could have prepared me for this. I was told that no anesthetic was given to these children when their organs were harvested because the pain and torture was enough to produce premium adrenochrome. There were adults in the dumbs managing all of this and they all were arrested. Most were given tribunals and executed. A few were given life (I don't know why) and sent to off world prisons.

I am certain our brave soldiers are going to have to get long term counseling for what they saw and had to endure in this operation.

I thought all the dumbs around the world had been liberated, but that was just not the case. There are so many. The military is working around the clock in rescuing children in these places like Greece, and many many other places. Australia and New Zealand had been liberated a while back. I was told that operation was horrific, but nothing compared to the operation in DC. DC was the worst they had ever seen.

Soylent Green is a 1973 American ecological dystopian thriller film

Plot

In the year 2022, the cumulative effects of overpopulation, pollution, and some apparent climate catastrophe have caused severe worldwide shortages of food, water and housing. There are 40 million people in New York City alone, where only the city's elite can afford spacious apartments, clean water, and natural food, and even then at horrendously high prices. The homes of the elite usually include concubines who are referred to as "furniture" and serve the tenants as slaves.

Within the city lives NYPD detective Frank Thorn and his aged friend Sol Roth, a highly intelligent analyst, referred to as a "Book". Thorn is tasked with investigating the murder of the wealthy and influential William R. Simonson, and quickly learns that Simonson had been assassinated and was a board member of Soylent Industries.

Soylent Industries, which derives its name from a combination of "soy" and "lentil", controls the food supply of half of the world and sells the artificially produced wafers, including "Soylent Red" and "Soylent Yellow". Their latest product is the far more flavorful and nutritious "Soylent Green", advertised as being made from ocean plankton, but is in short supply. As a result of the weekly supply bottlenecks, the hungry masses regularly riot, and they are brutally removed from the streets by means of police vehicles that scoop the rioters with large shovels and dump them within the vehicle's container.

With the help of "furniture" Shirl, with whom Thorn begins a relationship, his investigation leads to a priest that Simonson had visited and confessed to shortly before his death. The priest is only able to hint at a gruesome truth before he himself is murdered. By order of the governor, Thorn is instructed to end the investigation, but he presses on. He is attacked during a riot, by the same assassin who killed Simonson, but the killer is crushed by a police vehicle.

Roth brings two volumes of oceanographic reports Thorn had procured from Simonson's apartment to the team of Books at the Supreme Exchange. The books confirm that the oceans no longer produce plankton, and deduce that Soylent Green is produced from some inconceivable supply of protein. They also deduce that Simonson's murder was ordered by his fellow Soylent Industries board members, knowing he was increasingly troubled by the truth.

Roth is so disgusted with his life in a degraded world that he decides to "return to the home of God" and seeks assisted suicide at a government clinic. Thorn finds a message left by Roth and rushes to stop him, but arrives too late. Roth and Thorn are mesmerized by the euthanasia process's visual and musical montage—long-gone forests, wild animals, rivers and ocean life. Before dying, Roth whispers what he has learned to Thorn, begging him to find proof, so that the Council of Nations can take action.

Thorn boards a truck transporting bodies from the euthanasia center to a recycling plant, where the secret is revealed – human corpses are being converted into Soylent Green. Thorn is spotted and kills his attackers, but is himself wounded. As Thorn is tended to by paramedics, he urges his police chief to spread the truth he has discovered and initiate proceedings against the company. While being taken away, Thorn shouts out to the surrounding crowd, "Soylent Green is people!"

Washington state officially begins human composting

People in Washington state can now literally push up daisies after their death — as the first human composting efforts in the country recently began there, according to a new report.

Two facilities in the Evergreen State received their first bodies for human composting — also known as “natural organic reductions” — last month, local outlet KOIN reported.

Herland Forest, a nonprofit research center in Klickitat County, is one of them.

Walt Patrick, senior steward at the facility, told the station the “natural organic reductions” are an investment, and it could take several weeks before the composting process is complete.

The process begins when the body is placed in a “NOR cradle” along with 200 gallons of wood chips, Patrick said. Bacteria, protozoa and fungi are dispensed into the mixture to speed up the process. Oxygen is also added to keep it between 145 and 155 degrees.

Solar panels provide extra heat as needed.

The final result is four 55-gallon drums full of usable compost, according to Patrick.

The family of the deceased can decide to keep all of it, or donate a portion to Herland Forest to help grow new trees in the cemetery.
