Cop Gets 5 Years for Using Badge to Run Fentanyl Ring, Causing Fatal Overdose

New York, NY — In case you’ve been completely in the dark for the last decade, you’ve likely noticed that the United States is currently in the midst of an opioid crisis. This crisis knows no demographic, no race, no gender, no age limit, and no occupation—it hits them all. Due to the government-imposed lockdowns, 2020 marked the deadliest year in history for fatal drug overdoses.

Because the state enforces a drug war which outlaws far safer alternatives, fentanyl has grabbed a large portion of the illegal drug market and these synthetic opioids that are extremely dangerous are flooding the streets. This is leading to deadly overdoses and tempting those in law enforcement to cash in on the thriving black market.

NYPD police officer Joseph Recca, 28, was one of these cops who used his badge to profit from the flourishing fentanyl market brought on by the war on drugs. He was sentenced to 5 years this month after selling the deadly drug which led to a fatal overdose. He and two others were part of a drug ring conspiracy that sold fentanyl disguised as oxycontin to unwitting customers who thought they were buying a prescription pill.

“The Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office is aggressively investigating and prosecuting drug dealers, particularly those who are causing overdoses, and Joseph Recca is the latest example,” District Attorney Sini said. “Today, my Office and the Court held him responsible for the death he caused. What makes his case unique and particularly troubling is the fact that he was selling drugs while also serving as a police officer. We will not tolerate drug dealers peddling poison in our communities, and our message today is that no one is above the law.”

Recca pleaded guilty on Feb. 26 to Manslaughter in the Second Degree, a class C Felony; Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, a class B felony; and Conspiracy in the Second Degree, a class B felony. He was sentenced on Monday to five years in prison with two years of post-release supervision.

His five year prison sentence is not enough, according to the victim’s family. The victim’s mother, Jessica Bornschein broke down in court after the sentencing and said his badge let him escape with such a light sentence.

“My brother was the best, he was my best friend. With your loved ones, take the time to appreciate them,” Christopher Bornschein said.

National Security, Military Vets Demand CIA Director Resigns Over Chinese Communist Party Links, Lies to U.S. Senate.

Washington, D.C. — The Committee on the Present Danger China – a national security group constituted of national security and military veteran – is demanding the resignation of Joe Biden’s recently confirmed CIA chief William Burns following outright lies to the United States Senate over Burns’s links to the Chinese Communist Party.

The letter follows a National Pulse investigation highlighting how Burns – who previously served as the President of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace – worked with Chinese Communist Party (CCP) influence groups including the China-United States Exchange Foundation (CUSEF) during his tenure.

The National Pulse recently revealed how, despite the former think tank director insisting he cut ties with the controversial influence group in his Senate confirmation hearings, the relationship continued through 2021.

“In our view, these relationships should have precluded an individual from holding even a basic security clearance, let alone serving in so sensitive a position as the leader of America’s preeminent intelligence organization. We learned recently, moreover, that Mr. Burns seriously misrepresented in sworn testimony to the United States Senate the nature and timing of his dealings with such CCP-associated persons and organizations,” the Committee on the Present Danger China (CPDC) asserts.

The CPDC – whose letter includes over 20 high-level signatories – also highlights how Burns allowed CCP members tied to United Front efforts, which seek to “co-opt and neutralize sources of potential opposition” to the regime’s authority, onto the organization’s Board of Trustees:

Mr. Burns’ testimony is also belied by the fact that in 2016 he welcomed Zhang Yichen to the Carnegie Endowment’s Board of Trustees. Mr. Zhang is the CEO of CITIC Capital Holdings, a 3 subsidiary of CITIC Group, a state-owned investment enterprise. He has given over a million dollars to the Endowment in recent years. He is also tied to not one, but two, Chinese influence operations: the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and the Center for China and Globalization. The website of a Chinese embassy depicts the CPPCC as a “United Front organization under the leadership of the Communist Party of China” that is “actively engaged in exchanges with foreign countries for the purpose of strengthening the friendship with people in foreign countries.” The Center for China and Globalization is “a Beijing-based think tank also linked to the communist apparatus.”

“Mr. Burn’s record contradicts his testimony about being worried about Chinese influence operations, shows he ignored the risks of partnering with them and bespeaks both a lack of awareness about Chinese tradecraft and judgment that could be serious national security risks at the CIA,” the letter notes before calling for his resignation:

For all these reasons, we urge you to ask immediately for the resignation of William Burns as Director of the Central Intelligence Agency.

The unearthing of Burns’s CCP ties follows The National Pulse highlighting comparably compromised members of the Biden White House, including cabinet secretaries, intelligence officials, advisers from various agencies, and even the President’s son.

UK Announces Voter ID Law to Avoid U.S.-Style Election Fraud.

In an effort to prevent and deter voter fraud on the scale of the last U.S. presidential election, a photo ID will now be required to vote in UK general elections, a proposal to be included in the Queen’s Speech to Parliament on Tuesday.

“Britons will have to show photo ID to vote in future general elections, ministers are poised to confirm this week,” states the Guardian.

This action is meant “as a means of tackling fraud,” while critics – who often benefit from voter fraud – are bigotedly claiming it “could deter poorer and ethnic minority voters from taking part in democracy.”

Business Groups Lobby Against Trump-Era Rule Blocking Chinese Tech

Major trade groups have asked the Commerce Department to nix a Trump-era rule continued by President Joe Biden that enables the government to block Chinese technology transactions.

Business groups and industry-leading technology companies have lined up in opposition of the rule, which was introduced on Jan. 19 and went into effect March 22, calling it overly broad and arguing it harms U.S. consumer interests, The Wall Street Journal reported Monday. The rule implements provisions of an executive order signed by former President Donald Trump in May 2019, giving the Commerce Department far-reaching power to block Chinese technology transactions deemed to pose a national security threat to the U.S.

The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) asked Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo not to enforce the rule while the administration reviewed the best path forward, according to an April 28 letter reviewed by the WSJ.

“[The administration’s] actions should be more tailored,” the TIA said in a separate April letter to Raimondo. “In the long term, the nation is best served by pragmatic approaches that are designed to address specific risks.”

The TIA, Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association, Consumer Technology Association, National Association of Broadcasters, Wireless Infrastructure Association and other top groups signed onto the letter.

A Texas rancher living north of Eagle Pass discovered five unaccompanied migrant children abandoned by smugglers on their farmland Saturday night. Mexico’s Fastest-Rising Cartel Trying to Establish Foothold in US: Feds

A notorious Mexican drug cartel is attempting to gain a foothold in the Seattle area and the Pacific Northwest, according to federal drug investigators.

Mexican criminal group the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generación, or CJNG), has been on the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) radar in recent years, and now, officials from the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Homeland Security Investigations say its operations extend nationwide, with notable activity in Washington state.

Mexico’s fastest-rising cartel has a presence in at least 20 Mexican states, as well as Mexico City, with its base of operations in Jalisco and Colima.

According to the Insight Group, CJNG, established in July 2010, is known for its aggressive use of violence and its public relations campaigns. It uses videos and social media to threaten rivals while promising civilians that it won’t prey on them with extortion and kidnappings.

DHS officials say the cartel is currently the primary group behind a drive to bring illicit fentanyl into the United States. Fentanyl, a synthetic opioid, is 100 times more potent than morphine.

Robert Hammer, the special agent-in-charge with the DHS’ principal investigative arm, told KOMO News that the cartel is “a huge threat to the stability” of the Seattle area and the Pacific Northwest.

Hammer noted that the group has illegally displayed its weaponry and armoured vehicles in Mexico through recently published videos, in which members also praise the cartel’s boss Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes—alias “El Mencho.” El Mencho has become one of Mexico’s most wanted, and is also one of the DEA’s most-wanted fugitives, with a $10 million price on his head.

“The display of weapons shows one thing,” Hammer told the news outlet. “But if you actually go back and look at what they’ve done with those weapons, what they’ve done with the mass killings, what they’ve done with the destruction of a human to convey the message that they are not to be messed with.”

A new May 4 report by independent researcher, Virginia Stoner, reveals US vaccine-death figures. The report is titled, “The Deadly Covid-19 Vaccine Coverup.”

The experts would say neither death figure (100 or 3800) is alarming, given the huge number of vaccines administered. But this is a deception.

Over the years, much has been written (even in the mainstream) about what sits behind REPORTED vaccine injuries and deaths. Estimates of TRUE injury numbers range from 10 to 100 times greater than the reported figures.

“The Current Administration has launched a full-blown assault on our Constitutional rights in a dictatorial manner, bypassing the Congress, with more than 50 Executive Orders quickly signed, many reversing the previous Administration’s effective policies and regulations,” write the retired officers, noting Biden has the most orders signed since President Franklin D. Roosevelt. “Moreover, population control actions such as excessive lockdowns, school and business closures, and most alarming, censorship of written and verbal expression are all direct assaults on our fundamental rights.”

The group is calling on Americans to throw out far-left politicians in favor of candidates at the federal, state, and local levels who place value in fiscal responsibility and individual rights over socialist collectivism as conditions present prime and necessary circumstances for the revival of a new 21st-century Tea Party movement.

“The survival of our Nation and its cherished freedoms, liberty, and historic values are at stake,” they wrote.

DHS launches warning system to find domestic terrorism threats on public social media

The goal is to detect the sort of posts that seemed to predict the Jan. 6 Capitol attack but were missed by law enforcement.

WASHINGTON — The Department of Homeland Security has begun implementing a strategy to gather and analyze intelligence about security threats from public social media posts, DHS officials said.

The goal is to build a warning system to detect the sort of posts that appeared to predict an attack on the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 but were missed or ignored by law enforcement and intelligence agencies, the officials said.

The focus is not on the identity of the posters but rather on gleaning insights about potential security threats based on emerging narratives and grievances. So far, DHS is using human beings, not computer algorithms, to make sense of the data, the officials said.

"We're not looking at who are the individual posters," said a senior official involved in the effort. "We are looking at what narratives are resonating and spreading across platforms. From there you may be able to determine what are the potential targets you need to protect."

The officials didn't describe what criteria or methods the analysts would use to parse the data. They said DHS officials have been consulting with social media companies, private companies and nonprofit groups that analyze open-source social media data.

"Domestic violent extremism poses the most lethal, persistent terrorism-related threat to our homeland today," said Sarah Peck, a DHS spokeswoman, adding that all DHS efforts against the threat "are carried out in close coordination with our privacy, civil rights and civil liberties experts and consistent with the law."

Law enforcement officers and intelligence analysts are legally entitled to examine — without warrants — what people say openly on Twitter, Facebook and other public social media forums, just as they can take in information from reading newspapers. But civil liberties groups generally oppose government monitoring of social media, arguing that it doesn't produce much intelligence and risks chilling free speech.

6 More Lawsuits Filed Against Syngenta Over Pesticide That Causes Parkinsons, First Trial Set for Today

Six more lawsuits alleging Syngenta’s weed killing pesticide paraquat causes Parkinson’s Disease were filed last week in Pennsylvania, California and Illinois, adding to more than a dozen similar lawsuits already filed in U.S. courts.

The lawsuits all allege that exposure to paraquat, which is banned in more than 30 countries though not in the U.S., causes the incurable and progressive Parkinson’s disorder that affects nerve cells in the brain, leading in advanced cases to severe physical debilitation and often dementia and death.

Many Parkinson’s experts say the disease can be caused by a range of factors, including exposure to pesticides such as paraquat, as well as other chemicals.

The first trial set to take place in the U.S. is to begin on May 10 in St. Clair County Circuit Court in Illinois. Missouri lawyer Steve Tillery is representing the plaintiffs in Hoffman V. Syngenta and said he plans to introduce evidence that includes internal company records showing Syngenta has known for decades that its product causes Parkinson’s Disease.

The defendants in the Hoffman case, as well as the other cases filed, name the Swiss-based Syngenta and Chevron USA as defendants.

Both Chevron and Syngenta deny there is a connection between the disease and the weed killer.

Chevron distributed and sold paraquat products in the U.S. starting with an agreement with a Syngenta predecessor called Imperial Chemical Industries, which introduced a paraquat-based herbicide called Gramoxone in 1962. Under a license agreement, Chevron had the right to manufacture, use and sell paraquat formulations in the U.S.

Syngenta says that its paraquat products have been approved as “safe and effective” for more than 50 years and it will “vigorously” defend the lawsuits. Syngenta is owned by China National Chemical Corporation, known as ChemChina.

The complaints were filed on April 30 by a team of law firms: DiCello Levitt Gutzler, Saltz Mongeluzzi & Bendesky, P.C. and Searcy Denney.

Mark DiCello, one of the plaintiffs’ attorneys bringing the cases, said Chevron and Syngenta have “long known they were peddling this poison,” and that the science surrounding paraquat “is conclusively on the side of the plaintiffs.”

Jeffrey Goodman, another of the plaintiffs’ attorneys helping bring the litigation said the filings so far are but the “tip of the iceberg” of what he expects to expand into a major mass tort case.

“The manufacturers of paraquat knew for decades that their product was linked to Parkinson’s disease yet chose to hide this information from regulators and the public,” Goodman said.

'Civil war is brewing in France and you know it': French military launches another salvo at Macron with new open letter

A group of active French military personnel has published a new open letter to the country's president Emmanuel Macron, warning him of a "civil war" brewing in the country after all the "concessions" he's made to Islamism.

The letter, published in the conservative Valeurs Actuelles magazine late on Sunday, strikes a similar tone to the message published by the same outlet last month. Unlike the previous one, which was signed by 25 retired generals and active-duty soldiers, the new letter is anonymous and is open for signing by the general public. As of noon on Monday, it had attracted over 100,000 signatures.

The authors of the letter have described themselves as active-duty French soldiers, belonging to the younger generation of the military that saw actual combat over the past years.

"We are what the newspapers have called 'the fire generation.' Men and women, active soldiers, of all armies and of all ranks, of all opinions, we all love our country. These are our only claims to fame. And while we cannot, by law, express ourselves with our face uncovered, it is equally impossible for us to stay silent," the letter reads.

The letter accuses President Macron of making "concessions" to Islamism on French soil, while the country's military has been spilling its blood to fight against it in "Afghanistan, Mali, the Central African Republic or elsewhere."

The authors have also indicated that at least some of them have taken part in the domestic Operation Sentinelle, launched after the devastating 2015 Charlie Hebdo terrorist attacks, and witnessed certain ethno-religious communities in France completely detached from the rest of the country.

For such communities "France means nothing but an object of sarcasm, contempt or even hatred," the letter reads.

Like the previous letter, this new one warns the republic's authorities of an impending "civil war," with the very existence of France being at stake. "Once again, civil war is brewing in France and you know it perfectly well," the letter reads.

We are not talking about extending your mandates or conquering others. We are talking about the survival of our country, the survival of your country.

The authors of the letter have also voiced strong support towards the signees of the first one and harshly criticized the government's response to it.

"To encourage the army's senior officers to take a stand and expose themselves, before angrily sanctioning them as soon as they write anything other than battle reports, one must be quite perverse," the letter reads.

Cowardice, deceit, perversion: this is not our vision of the hierarchy. On the contrary, the army is, par excellence, the place where we speak the truth because we commit our lives.

The first letter, published on April 21 – on the 60th anniversary of a failed coup d'état against General Charles de Gaulle over his support in favor of independence for Algeria – caused an uproar among France's top officials. Prime Minister Jean Castex branded the message "an initiative against all of our republican principles, of honor and the duty of the army," while the military vowed to punish the active-duty signees.

The authors’ findings: Over the past 100 years, there has been increased global vegetation growth.

Emergency Declaration Issued For 17 States In Wake Of Cyberattack On Colonial Pipeline

On Sunday, the U.S. Department of Transportation issued an emergency declaration for 17 states and the District of Columbia in the wake of a cyberattack on the Colonial pipeline on Friday. The declaration permitted fuel to be transported by road to Alabama, Arkansas, the District of Columbia, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.

One expert told Politico the ransomware attack was “the most significant and successful attack on energy infrastructure we know of in the United States.” Politico reported, “The attack on the Colonial Pipeline, which runs 5,500 miles and provides nearly half the gasoline, diesel and jet fuel used on the East Coast, most immediately affected some of the company’s business-side computer systems — not the systems that directly run the pipelines themselves. The Georgia-based company said it shut down the pipelines as a precaution and has engaged a third-party cybersecurity firm to investigate the incident.”

If the subsequent outage is not corrected within days, the eastern half of the United States, which reportedly receives 45% of fuel from the pipeline, could see a surge in gas, oil, and diesel prices.

On Sunday, Colonial issued a statement saying, “The Colonial Pipeline operations team is developing a system restart plan. While our mainlines (Lines 1, 2, 3 and 4) remain offline, some smaller lateral lines between terminals and delivery points are now operational. We are in the process of restoring service to other laterals and will bring our full system back online only when we believe it is safe to do so, and in full compliance with the approval of all federal regulations.… At this time, our primary focus continues to be the safe and efficient restoration of service to our pipeline system, while minimizing disruption to our customers and all those who rely on Colonial Pipeline.”

The Department of Transportation declaration stated:

This Emergency Declaration provides for regulatory relief for commercial motor vehicle operations while providing direct assistance supporting emergency relief efforts transporting gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, and other refined petroleum products into the Affected States during the emergency from shortages due to the shutdown, partial shutdown, and/or manual operation of the Colonial pipeline system.
