Get Ready for Road Rage: Paris Sets 20 MPH Speed Limit and Eliminates 40 Percent of Parking to Fight Global Warming

Paris, the “City of Lights,” has decided to go to war against global warming by reducing the speed limit on city streets to 30 KPH (19 MPH).

To further enrage drivers, the city has eliminated 60,000 of its 144,000 parking spaces to make them “more accessible to everyone.” They will also widen some sidewalks, create new bike lanes, and plant new trees and shrubs.

Polls show that 59 percent of Parisians support the reduced speed limit, although in the wider metro area opposition tops out at 61 percent.

There appears to be a debate about whether reducing the speed limit and eliminating parking places will actually make the air cleaner and save the planet from climate change. The science says no, but socialists only follow the science when it’s on their side of an argument.

CNN:

“With deliveries, it’s terrible. We don’t have time. I was in traffic jams everywhere. We don’t have time,” he told CNN affiliate BFMTV, which did not name him.

Another driver said it was as if car drivers were traveling on “electric scooters,” calling the rule “crazy.”

Parisian Deputy Mayor David Belliard, who is responsible for transport, told BFMTV that the hope was the limit would put more people off driving altogether and encourage more walking, use of public transport and bikes.

In fact, sitting in traffic jams created by the reduced speed limit will pump far more greenhouse gas into the atmosphere than cars moving in normal traffic. An idling car contributes to smog and climate change and wastes about 6 billion gallons of fuel a year in America, according to the U.S. Department of Energy.

Paris cab drivers are legendary for their ability to zip around the city, but some now say their business is doomed.

ABCNews:

“So if I drive at 30 kph, the client starts complaining. If I drive at 50 kph (about 30 mph), I get arrested by the police. So I don’t know what to do!” exclaimed Karim Macksene, seated in his cab outside the iconic Cafe de Flore on the Left Bank. “People take a cab because they’re in a hurry. At 30 kph, they might as well walk.”

The socialists seem to be particularly hell-bent on trying to slow people down. Other cities in Europe are also reducing speed limits to “combat climate change.

Brussels imposed a 30 kph limit on much of the city earlier this year. About 80% of Berlin streets have the same rule. London last year imposed a 20 mph (32 kph) limit on some roads within the city’s Congestion Charging Zone.

Madrid imposed such a limit on most of the city center in 2018, and this year Spain put a 30-kph limit on all one-way urban roads, a measure aimed at reducing air and noise pollution and increasing traffic safety.

There’s no doubt that going slower is statistically safer for other cars and pedestrians. But what does it do for the mental health of most people when they’re stuck in traffic jams and move through a big city at a snail’s pace? You can bet that road rage will become a significant problem in Paris after the restrictions are in place for a while.

Facebook Says It ‘Incorrectly Deleted’ Account Of Mother Of Marine Killed In Kabul Explosion

Facebook says it incorrectly removed the account of the mother of one of the Marines killed in the Kabul terrorist attack last week, following several posts critical of President Joe Biden.

Shana Chappell, mother of Kareem Nikoui, one of the 13 Marines killed in the suicide bombing at the Kabul airport last week, claimed in a Facebook post Monday that her Instagram account had been deleted. Instagram is owned by Facebook.

“It seems Instagram took it upon themselves to delete my account because I am assuming it was because I gained so many followers over my sons death due to Biden’s negligence, ignorance and him being a traitor!” Chappell wrote. “You deleted my account because my sons blood is on Biden’s hands!! Heroes’ blood is on Biden’s hands!!!!”

Chappell then made another post linking to a now-unavailable Instagram comment that she claimed was the reason for her account’s removal.

Biden Lied: POTUS Promised Troops Would Stay Until Every American Is Out of Afghanistan

President Joe Biden lied two weeks ago when he assured those concerned about his botched withdrawal from Afghanistan that no Americans would be left behind.

On Monday, the country’s military presence ended after two decades. Among those who did not board the last flights out of Kabul were reportedly “hundreds” of American citizens.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken said at a news briefing Monday he had no idea how many Americans his department left to deal with the Taliban on their own:

“We believe there are still a small number of Americans, under 200, and likely closer to 100, who remain in Afghanistan and want to leave,” Blinken said. “We’re trying to determine exactly how many.”

U.S. Central Command Marine Corps Gen. Kenneth McKenzie also said Monday afternoon that hundreds of American citizens are now trapped behind enemy lines in Afghanistan. As the establishment media and Democrats attempted to portray our country’s shameful defeat in Afghanistan as a success story, McKenzie admitted that our military is no longer in the business of using its power to protect Americans.

“We did not get everybody out that we wanted to get out, but I think if we stayed another 10 days, we wouldn’t have gotten everybody out who we wanted to get out.”

The number of American citizens left behind was in the “very low hundreds” the general said.

It was not specified how many Afghan allies were left behind as combat operations in Afghanistan are over. But McKenzie signaled for Americans in harm’s way, the country would seek a diplomatic resolution.

How infuriating is our country’s leadership? How has a general like McKenzie not already resigned in shame, or at least in protest?

It sounded an awful lot like McKenzie was saying that Americans who’d been told by the U.S. Embassy in Afghanistan to stay away from the airport in Kabul were abandoned after they did so. They were told to hunker down so this country’s leaders could discard them, as the U.S. discarded billions of dollars in weapons and military equipment.

There are, right now, hundreds of Americans who wanted out of Afghanistan and they’re presumably hiding and surrounded by Taliban killers. Those who failed them in the Biden administration are celebrating the end of a war. For those left in the war zone, the nightmare is probably only just beginning.

But why is McKenzie telling us about Biden’s failure, and not Biden himself? The president is, after all, the person who assured us less than two weeks ago during an interview with ABC News that no American would be left behind.

“We’ve got like 10 to 15,000 Americans in the country right now. Right? And are you committed to making sure that the troops stay until every American who wants to be out is out?” the network’s George Stephanopoulos asked Biden on Aug. 19.

“Yes,” Biden replied. “Yes.”

I wrote it off as bullshit or confirmation bias, but had a friend come over yesterday who had got their 2nd jab 2 days prior and instantly experienced what the comment said verbatim. Has anyone else had a bad smell, not just the rancid smell that people speak of (or even that) after their vaccine? I was fully vaccinated as of two weeks ago and I noticed sometime after the first dose, but much more after the second that there is this horrible smell that I cannot stop smelling. It gets much worse at night. I had Covid near Christmas and actually had a heightened sense of smell rather than a loss of smell or taste.

Smell problems, keep smelling a rancid smell and also overly aware of my own smell, even after showering I feel like I need to shower again, even though no one else can smell anything.

Clearly, this is happening to people post-vaccine. However, the media began publishing news reports of a condition called Parosmia in the early part of this year. They assert that this is a side effect of Covid disease, and that people who lose their sense of smell regain it months later . . . only it’s distorted, so everything smells like rotten meat or garbage. And everyone is experiencing similar aversions to foods due to this, some losing weight as they are finding it difficult to eat.

The media doesn’t report any instances (that I can find) of people describing the garbage odor post vaccine, only post Covid disease. This is contrary to what is being reported by many people online, such as the above quotes. There are even support groups cropping up. As well, there was no mention of this “side effect” prior to the release of vaccines.
