Oil Shipments in European Oil Hub Delayed After Cyber Attacks

February 4, 2022

Reuters

By Julia Payne

LONDON, Feb 4 (Reuters) – Tanker and barge shipments in and out of Europe’s biggest oil hub have been delayed by up to a week as four storage companies scramble to resume operations after cyber attacks, sources familiar with the matter said.

Since the end of last week, storage company Oiltanking and oil trading firm Mabanaft, both owned by Germany’s Marquard & Bahls, have been hit by hackers. Belgium’s SEA-TANK and Dutch fuel storage firm Evos have also been affected.

The companies have had to suspend some operations, affecting oil flows in the Netherlands, Belgium and across Germany. It is not clear whether the cyber attacks are linked.

German newspaper Handelsblatt reported that Oiltanking and Mabanaft were attacked with a ransomware programme. The companies declined to comment.

They declared force majeure on their German operations earlier this week and oil major Shell stepped in to re-route alternative supplies.

A source close to Mabanaft said petrol stations were working normally but truck loadings were still problematic.

SEA-TANK and Evos, meanwhile, have storage in and around the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp oil hub, with their problems leading to crowding outside the port.

At least seven fuel tankers were sitting off the coast of Belgium waiting to load in Antwerp, according to Refinitiv Eikon ship tracking data. The Port of Antwerp authority declined to comment.

Barges due to move fuel between ports and inland down the Rhine River also suffered delays.

“The outages impact the entire chain because ships have had to be re-routed to other functional ports. Some barge operators have delays of around a week to move fuel inland or between refineries and depots in the area,” Lars van Wageningen of market intelligence firm Insights Global said.

SEA-TANK operates five locations in the port of Antwerp. They were forced to cut capacity starting from Sunday. A source familiar with the matter said they were “back to normal but not at full speed” as of Friday. SEA-TANK’s parent company SEA-Invest did not immediately respond to a comment request.

Evos said on Friday it had suffered delays at its terminals in Terneuzen in the Netherlands, Ghent in Belgium and Malta.

“Evos continues to operate at all its terminals …. The source of the disruption is being investigated,” a spokesperson said. (Reporting by Julia Payne, additional reporting by Ron Bousso, Rowena Edwards, Toby Sterling in Amsterdam and Christoph Steitz in Frankfurt Editing by Mark Potter)

Brexit Boon for Belfast Harbour

Bloomberg

February 1, 2022

By Morwenna Coniam (Bloomberg) —

Northern Ireland’s main port enjoyed a record year in 2021 as the U.K.’s departure from the European Union created more trade through the territory and pandemic pressures eased.

Belfast Harbour handled 25.6 million tons last year, an increase of 9% from pandemic-hit 2020, it said in a statement on Tuesday. Container traffic rose 15% to the highest level since 2008, while the number of ferry passengers jumped 69% as authorities loosened travel restrictions.

Brexit has been a boon, with all Northern Ireland ports “experiencing improved trade volumes whilst grace periods continue to apply,” Port Director Michael Robinson said, referring to the transition period in the deal between the EU and the U.K.

Northern Ireland was effectively kept in the EU’s single market following Brexit. Under an agreement designed to avoid creating a hard border on the island of Ireland, goods moving into Northern Ireland from the rest of the U.K. will be subject to customs checks. But they haven’t all come into force yet, and grace periods have been extended.

Robinmg (T.me) There is in today’s Daily Telegraph an article which finally acknowledges that PCR testing in U.K. is inconsistently performed & is essentially fraudulent. The timing of this piece cannot be accidental & so we can speculate that this is another step along the road to lifting covid19-related “measures”.

I urge readers not to breathe a sigh of relief & prepare themselves to resume something approaching a normal life, as if a natural phenomenon is at last fading away. The entire “covid19 crisis” is deliberate. Ask yourself what motives there may be for a global scale fraud & what might be expected as this deceit is being exposed, step by step. Consider what needs to happen to those guilty of planning, executing & lying about this “crisis”, which has stripped billions of people of their freedoms & other human rights for almost two years.

Other recent steps have included acknowledgment that cloth masks are wholly ineffective, that fewer people have died as a consequence of infection by this alleged virus than from influenza in a typical ‘flu season, that lockdowns were ineffectual & unnecessary. Those with some technical knowledge & capable of reasoning have known all of this & more fir a very long time and published scientific & medical literature supports every one of these contentions. Those advising governments knew all this beforehand.

We do not, however, yet have acceptance by the authorities anywhere that the gene-based “vaccines” are ineffective yet extraordinarily toxic. Both features are present, by design. Pharma May be corrupt, but they’re not fools & they know exactly what they’re doing. Despite the backdrop, this picture will be conceded, because there is a increasing number of people who’ve been killed or injured by the so-called vaccines.

These facts have been known by pharma, regulators & governments internationally from January 2021, if not sooner. Yet the policy of coerced mass vaccination continues in much of the world. Readers must surely ask themselves why these crimes against humanity were set up in the first place.

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2022/02/04/shambolic-covid-pcr-testing-rules-meant-one-three-isolated-never/

From as early as summer 2020, I did try to tell the public that PCR mass testing is being inappropriately used & the results wholly untrustworthy.

The inventor of the PCR method, Dr Kary Mullis, was awarded a Nobel prize for his invention because of its central importance in molecular biology.

However, Mullis repeatedly criticised the growing use of PCR to make clinical diagnoses. He pointed out that, such was its astonishing sensitivity, it is possible to get a positive result from a sample containing a single fragment of a virus, way below levels involved in a clinical infection or conferring infectiousness.

The lack of regulation & standardisation is just one aspect of what this truly is: a deliberate & protracted fraud on the people. NHS trust managers aren’t expected to understand that arcane aspects of a test like cycle threshold & presumably accepted the results in good faith. In contrast, anyone in the field of medical diagnostics within the NHS knows this is fraud. It’s not a matter of opinion.

Furthermore, most of the mass testing conducted on members of the public isn’t run within Trust hospitals pathology facilities but inside huge, purpose-built private labs, which have been called “Lighthouse Labs”. Whistleblower disclosures way back in 2020 told us without equivocation that mass testing there was (& presumably still is) leaving out crucial components, without which the results are wholly uninterpretable. Specifically, they were not using certain internal standards, necessary to confirm the samples in each batch test run was only turning positive when truly detecting target genetic sequences, contrasting with positive results when the virus target was absent, which are known as false positives.

Prince Andrew 'will try to cast Virginia Roberts as a sex trafficker by seeking testimony from Epstein victim that she recruited her at 14 and trained her to give sexual massages'

Prince Andrew is seeking sworn testimony from a Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell victim that will claim his accuser Virginia Roberts recruited her at 14 and trained her to give sexual massages, it has been claimed.

The high-risk gamble is part of the Duke of York's 'unclean hands' defence strategy, which will see his lawyers argue Ms Roberts does not deserve damages because she was complicit in a 'criminal enterprise'.

But the move could backfire against the royal, as his witness, Carolyn Andriano, recently corroborated claims that Ms Roberts had sex with Andrew at Maxwell's London home when she was 17 - meaning she could do so yet again under oath.

'It's potentially a double-edged sword,' a source familiar with the duke's strategy told the Times.

Andrew's team are now looking for other women who may have been recruited by Ms Roberts while under age.

'We are interested in speaking with and interviewing anyone and everyone who has information relevant to these allegations,' the source added.

Ms Roberts is suing Andrew in New York over claims she was trafficked by paedophile financier Epstein and forced to have sex with the prince on three occasions when she was 17. Andrew vehemently denies the claims.

It emerged this weekend that the Duke of York is set to meet lawyers representing Ms Roberts in London on March 10, where he will testify under oath according to sources close to the royal.

'We agreed to voluntarily produce the Duke for a deposition on March 10. Despite repeated requests, Ms. Giuffre (Roberts) still hasn't committed to a date or location for her deposition,' a source close to the Duke said on Saturday.

The news broke just a day before the Queen, Andrew's mother, is set to mark her 70th year on the throne as part of her Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

The Prince is being prepared by his UK-based legal team as he prepares to face a grilling over the span of two days by David Boies, 80, one of America's most renowned attorneys, and Sigrid McCawley.

Andrew, who was stripped of all his military titles and royal peerages last month after the case was confirmed as going to trial, will be questioned about three alleged assaults in 2001.

Meanwhile, Ms Andriano looks set to form a key part of Andrew's defence.

13 people injured after floor collapses at London’s Two More Years bar

By Sam Raskin February 13, 2022

Thirteen people were injured Saturday when a London bar’s mezzanine floor collapsed “in a matter of seconds” in an incident that sounded “like an earthquake,” according to authorities and reports.

Emergency responders were called to the scene at Two More Years bar in the Hackney Wick neighborhood in east London at 4:44 p.m. local time, London Ambulance Services announced on Twitter.

“We declared a major incident and dispatched a number of resources to the scene,” said London Ambulance Service strategic commander Brian Jordan in a press release.

Medics treated 13 people, three of whom suffered potentially serious injuries and 10 with minor injuries, according to the service. Authorities said four of the injured were rushed to local hospitals, and about 50 bar patrons left the building before emergency responders arrived at the scene.

It was unclear from initial reports what caused the mezzanine floor to collapse.

Witnesses said the floor caving in came without warning.

“There was just this sort of cracking sort of noise and dust started coming down,” a man who was at the bar told Sky News.

“Me and my friend just ran to the side and the whole thing just came down in a matter of seconds.”

Hal — a mental health worker and therapist who was on the mezzanine floor when it collapsed — told the BBC about the “rumbling” he heard before the collapse.

“It sounded like a rumbling — a bit like an earthquake. You can’t be prepared for anything like this,” he said. Hal told the outlet he avoided any major injuries.

“Thankfully I was able to heave myself out,” he said. “We all helped each other out.”

LFB station commander Sacha Clement, who was at the scene, told Sky News that “firefighters carried out a systematic search of the building and rescued seven people from inside.

“They were trapped on the remaining part of the mezzanine floor and crews used a ladder to bridge between the floor and the internal staircase to get them safely out of the building,” Clement added. “We are working with our emergency services partners, and a number of people have been treated at the scene and taken to hospital.”

On its Instagram account, Two more Years announced the venue would be closed “for now.”

“Our thoughts are with everyone that has been affected,” the post continued.

The venue is located close to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, the complex built for the 2012 Summer Olympics, and The River Lea. Two more Years Bar has “11 studios for local creatives to rent at affordable prices,” according to its website.

The bar, named for the amount of time on its lease, is soon set to be redeveloped, the site notes.

Priti Patel pulls rug from under Sadiq Khan with new rule to diminish London Mayor's power

By Millie Cooke 11:48, Tue, Feb 15, 2022 | UPDATED: 11:48, Tue, Feb 15, 2022

The new law would make it more difficult for Mr Khan to fire or suspend any future police chief constables. The law would cover the potential dismissal of the Metropolitan Police Commissioner. This comes just a few days after Mr Khan forced Police Commissioner Dame Cressida Dick's resignation, after making it clear he had no confidence in her plans to reform the force.

However, the rule change has been in the pipeline since before Dame Cressida's resignation.

It is thought that her resignation may accelerate the changes.

The legal change would prevent police and crime commissioners (PCCs) - the role held by Mr Khan in London - from dismissing chief constables as a result of political or personal reasons.

Speaking about the changes, a government source said: "At the moment, the PCC can hire and fire at will.

"This is about getting a rigorous and transparent process so that police chiefs know they cannot just get sacked for political reasons."

"This is about getting a rigorous and transparent process so that police chiefs know they cannot just get sacked for political reasons."

Mr Khan faced backlash from the Metropolitan Police Federation over Dame Cressida's resignation, with the organisation saying it has "no faith" in his leadership.

The federation's chairman, Ken Marsh, accused politicians of using "policing and the career of the country's most senior police leader to deflect from their own failings."

He added: "This is not a move we take lightly.

"We have let the Mayor's office know in no uncertain terms how our brave and diligent colleagues deserve better.

"The atmosphere amongst Metropolitan Police officers is horrendous - it's rock bottom.

"Officers in London feel saddened and angry that the Commissioner Cressida Dick has been pushed out in the way she has.

"She was reforming. She was changing. The culture is changing.

"We are deeply disappointed with the actions of the Mayor."

But a spokesperson for Mr Khan said a change of leadership "was the only way to address this crisis in trust".

They added: "The series of scandals seen in recent years has tarnished the reputation of the police, which is so crucial to policing by consent.

"Downplaying the scale of the change required is only going to hinder, not help, the vital process of restoring Londoners’ trust in the Met."

The new law will amend section 38 of the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011, preventing PCCs from hiring and firing at will if their relationship with the chief constable deteriorates.

It will force them to give written notice as the first stage of any dismissal process and will introduce a time limit on any suspension, alongside introducing an arbitration mechanism.

This is not the first time a mayor has faced controversy for the hiring and firing of a chief constable.

In 2020, Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham pushed Ian Hopkins to quit as chief constable of Greater Manchester Police.

At the time, Ms Patel accused the Labour mayor of having "thrown a senior police officer under the bus to save his own skin".

Boris Johnson as Mayor of London also forced the resignation of Lord Blair of Boughton as Met Police commissioner in 2008.

'Many would regard this as an admission of guilt': Royal expert dissects Prince Andrew's out-of-court settlement with Virginia Giuffre, claiming the Duke has become 'a serious embarrassment and a national joke'

Duke dramatically settled bombshell sexual abuse lawsuit after agreeing deal

Richard Fitzwilliams questions why payment made if he's so sure of innocence

97 per cent of such cases are settled out of court in the United States, he added

Prince Andrew's out-of-court settlement with Virginia Giuffre will be seen by many as an 'admission of guilt', a royal expert has claimed.

The Duke dramatically settled the bombshell sexual abuse lawsuit after he agreed an undisclosed deal said to be worth £7.5million with his accuser.

Andrew will now make a 'substantial donation' to Mrs Giuffre's charity supporting victims' rights, and praised her 'bravery' and that of other trafficking victims, saying he has 'never intended' to malign her character.

Mrs Giuffre, previously known as Virginia Roberts, sued him last August, alleging he sexually abused her more than two decades ago when she was 17, a minor under US law, while the late financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein was trafficking her.

Andrew has always strenuously denied the allegations against him and the settlement today did not admit to any misbehaviour.

However, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams questioned why such a payment was agreed if he was so sure of his innocence.
