ESG is the acronym for Environmental, Social, and (Corporate) Governance, the three broad categories, or areas, of interest for what is termed “socially responsible investors.” They are investors who consider it important to incorporate their values and concerns (such as environmental concerns) into their selection of investments instead of simply considering the potential profitability and/or risk presented by an investment opportunity.

FDA Advisers Recommend Authorizing Novavax Covid Vaccine Despite Risks of Myocarditis

 

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) panel experts recommended authorizing Novavax Covid-19 vaccine during a federal advisory committee on Tuesday.

 

FDA advisers ignored the previous assessment released by the agency. The FDA released a report on Friday regarding the causal relationship between the Novavax vaccine and heart inflammation or myocarditis.

 

In the FDA documents, the agency said that multiple events of myocarditis/pericarditis were reported after the administration of the Novavax vaccine. Thus, raising concern about a possible risk of heart inflammation from the vaccine.

 

“Multiple events of myocarditis/ pericarditis were reported in temporal relationship to NVX-CoV2373 administration, similar to myocarditis following mRNA COVID-19 vaccines and raising concern for a causal relationship to NVX-CoV2373. Events of lymphadenopathy were infrequent but reported by a higher proportion of participants in the NVX arm, with the highest rate observed after Dose 2 (0.2%). Review of the data also identified small imbalances in certain thromboembolic events, including cardiac and neurovascular events, hypersensitivity events, cholecystitis, uveitis, cardiac failure, and cardiomyopathy,” according to the documents.

“Data from passive surveillance during post-authorization use in other countries also indicate a higher-than-expected rate of myocarditis and pericarditis (mainly pericarditis) associated with the vaccine,” the documents stated.

The documents were released ahead of a June 7 meeting of the FDA’s Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee. The agency indicated five of the six myocarditis/pericarditis cases were observed within two weeks of administration and four were in young men. There were almost 30,000 participants in the study, run between December 2020 and September 2021. Otherwise, overall efficacy was 90.4%, although lower, 78.6%, in people 65 years and older.

 

Data from the studies were prior to the Delta and Omicron variant surges, although the documents say, “based on the efficacy estimate in the clinical trial of this vaccine, it is more likely than not that the vaccine will provide some meaningful level of protection against COVID-19 due to Omicron, in particular against more severe disease.”

 

Novavax has stated that the number of myocarditis events in the study was “within the range of expected background cases…. Despite the wide availability of authorized or approved vaccines, the SARS-COV-2 pandemic is not well controlled in the U.S…. there remains a desire for vaccines that have been developed using well-understood technology platforms.”

 

Meanwhile, the company initiated a Phase III trial of its vaccine against the Omicron strain on May 31. This particular vaccine trial is of a bivalent vaccine that contains both NVX-CoV2373 and NVX-CoV2515. NVX-CoV2373 is the vaccine currently on the market in other countries and up for review in the U.S. The trial will last 10 months with initial results expected in the second half of 2022.

 

The Novavax vaccine uses an older, traditional type of vaccine manufacturing process where copies of the spike protein are grown in insect cells, purified and placed into nanoparticles with an immune-stimulating adjuvant. That is compared to the newer mRNA vaccines that package a segment of mRNA coding for the spike protein in a nanoparticle. Protein vaccines have been used in numerous other vaccines, such as for hepatitis B and shingles.

 

In a statement, Novavax Inc. said “there is insufficient evidence to establish a causal relationship” between the vaccine and heart inflammation.

 

“The data from our placebo-controlled studies show that overall, in our clinical development program, the rate of myocarditis was balanced between the vaccine and placebo arms (0.007% and 0.005%). Furthermore, in the post-crossover portions of our studies, the cases we have seen are all within the expected rate,” Novavax Inc stated.

White Hats to Repel “Armed” Illegal Caravan

 

White Hats on Monday sent “a sizable force” to the southern border after confirming reports that many men among a caravan of 12,000 (and growing) would-be illegal immigrants are armed and marching toward Eagle Pass, Texas, just north of the Rio Grande.

 

A high-ranking source in the White Hat community told Real Raw News on Monday that the U.S. military has drone footage showing “several thousand” asylum-seekers carrying Kalashnikovs. RRN has not reviewed the video, which if accurate directly contradicts how mainstream media have portrayed the army rapidly encroaching toward U.S. soil—the crippled, the disenfranchised, and impoverished parents with starving children in tow. The MSM and its liberal political allies are eager to adopt illegals as potential voters for the equally illegal Biden regime.

 

Our source claimed White Hats gave their footage to Fox News, ostensibly a conservative outlet, but the network refused to air it, citing “FCC prohibitions.” The FCC—an archaic institution that ought to be abolished—has for decades been entrenched in the Deep State and is partly responsible for the obfuscation of what’s really happening in today’s world, including the true nature of caravans of future illegal immigrants.

 

“The pictures shown to the public on mainstream are cherry-picked or recycled from a few years ago,” our source said. “It’s extremely disheartening—the stranglehold the FCC has over all network media. There’s 2,000 men in that caravan with AK-47s and AK-74s, thrusting them in the air in some sort of rebellious gesture, chanting in Spanish that they’re “going to the U.S.A. no matter what,” and the MSM is showing is pics of kids dressed in brand name clothes—Nike, Adidas, Reebok—saying they’re a repressed people in search of a better life, and deserving of U.S. government assistance. The deception is insane.”

 

On Monday evening, he said, White Hats mobilized “a lot of” active-duty soldiers, primarily from the Special Operations community. Although he would not quantify how many troops were involved in the operation, he said “plenty of experienced volunteers” were eager to uphold the U.S. Constitution and repel an armed invasion against U.S. sovereignty.

 

He added, however, that White Hats would engage only armed insurgents who cross or fire across the U.S.-Mexico border.

 

“We’re going to protect our nation against criminal illegals, but we still have rules of engagement,” he said. “If a Mexican or Guatemalan sets foot in our country with a firearm, it’s weapons-free. Unfortunately, we can’t deter all illegals, but will prevent an armed incursion.”

 

Weapons-free is military jargon giving U.S. soldiers permission to engage any target not identified as friendly.

 

Asked if Texas Gov. Greg Abbott was notified of the mission, our source said, “We didn’t seek his consent, but he’s been made aware. If push comes to shove, we want to avoid confrontation with Texas law enforcement.”

 

White Hats, however, are more concerned with how federal agencies like ICE and U.S. Border Control will react to their presence.

 

“Let’s be clear: federal agencies, all federal agencies right now, are controlled opposition. While they’re crying on MSM about border intrusions, they’re also letting cartel and gang members freely enter the country. If we see a federal agent aiding, or showing sympathy toward, an armed illegal, that agent will be deemed an enemy combatant,” our source said.

World Bank says recession will be 'hard to avoid' for many countries

 

You can add the World Bank to the growing chorus sounding recession alarm bells. In its latest outlook, World Bank president David Malpass said "for many countries, recession will be hard to avoid".

Malpass joins many others on Wall Street and at central banks around the globe who are starting to warn about a sharp economic downturn.

JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon referred to an economic "hurricane" on the horizon last week while Tesla's Elon Musk has said he has a "super bad feeling" about the economy.

 

The reasons for the gloom? Malpass said in the World Bank's latest outlook Tuesday that "the war in Ukraine, lockdowns in China, supply-chain disruptions and the risk of stagflation are hammering growth."

Stagflation, the combination of stagnant economic growth and high inflation, has become a major worry of late.

The trend is reminding experts and older consumers of the late 1970s, when an oil shock and sluggish economy led to two downturns, a so-called double-dip recession, in the early 1980s.

Investors are nervous about the fact that the Federal Reserve is raising interest rates aggressively to try and tamp down rising prices. The problem, though, is that some fear the Fed was too late starting its campaign to combat inflation. As a result, the central bank could spark a recession as it rushes to catch up with more rate hikes.

 

The prospect of higher short-term rates from the Fed have already led to a spike in longer-term Treasury bond yields this year. Mortgage rates have jumped as well, leading to worries that the housing market could slow dramatically.

Businesses are also grappling with higher costs for commodities and wages and now have to contend with higher interest rates potentially hurting their bottom lines as well.

Add all that up and it's easy to see why the World Bank is increasingly nervous. The international lending organization now expects the global economy to grow at an annualized pace of just 2.9 per cent this year. That is down sharply from the 5.7 per cent growth rate last year as well as the World Bank's January 2022 forecast of 4.1 per cent.

 

"The recovery from the stagflation of the 1970s required steep increases in interest rates in major advanced economies, which played a prominent role in triggering a string of financial crises in emerging market and developing economies," the World Bank said in its new forecast.

The World Bank isn't expecting a big rebound anytime soon. It said that global growth should "hover around" the 2.9 per cent level for both next year and 2024, describing the next few years as "a protracted period of feeble growth and elevated inflation."

The UN is unable to verify accusations raised by Kiev against Moscow of “stealing” and exporting Ukrainian grain, Stephane Dujarric, the spokesman for the UN Secretary-General, has said.

 

Asked about the claims by a reporter during a news briefing on Tuesday, Dujarric said that neither the UN Secretary-General’s office nor the UN World Food Programme (WFP) had any credible information on the matter.

 

“We’ve seen recent media reports, we’re talking to our colleagues at WFP. They have no way of verifying these allegations. I think WFP, as we all have, has been advocating for a free movement of food from the Black Sea to ensure that the needs of people around the world are met,” the official stated.

 

Ukraine has repeatedly accused Moscow of “stealing” its stockpiles of wheat amid the ongoing conflict that broke out in late February. Most recently, such accusations were flung at Russia by the Ambassador of Ukraine to Turkey, Vasyl Bodnar.

 

“Russia shamelessly steals Ukrainian grain and sends it overseas from Crimea, including to Turkey,” Bodnar said on Friday, adding that Kiev has asked Ankara to “help resolve the issue.”

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced Tuesday that it will officially consider migrants' US military service before deciding whether to enforce civil immigration actions, such as deportation, against them or their family members.

 

While ICE has previously recognized US military service as a mitigating factor, the Biden administration's directive makes consideration of US military service an official agency policy. The department will take into account the non-citizen US veteran's type of discharge, length of service, and other related factors before deciding to take action against an illegal immigrant and their immediate family members.

 

Immigration enforcement actions include "arrest, detention, return, and removal from the United States of foreign nationals who are inadmissible to or removable from the United States under U.S. immigration law," according to the Department of Homeland Security.

 

The Biden administration stressed in a press release announcing the policy that the focus of ICE is "the apprehension and removal of noncitizens who are a threat to national security, public safety, and border security."

 

The newly official policy will also create training, tracking, and reporting requirements for current and former US service members who are illegal immigrants.

 

"ICE values the incredible contributions of noncitizens who have served in the U.S. military," ICE Acting Director Tae D. Johnson said in a press release. "Through this directive, ICE will consider U.S. military service by a noncitizen or their immediate family members when determining whether to take civil immigration enforcement decisions against a noncitizen."

DeSantis Signs School Safety Bill

 

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a bipartisan-supported school safety bill on June 7 that addresses gun violence in schools.

 

The bill, HB 1421, adds to Florida’s list of school safety reforms that have been legislated since the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on Valentine’s Day in 2018.

 

Florida Democrats had begun pushing for a special session on gun violence before the governor signed the bill.

 

In a news release, DeSantis announced that he had signed the bipartisan-supported bill which embraces a number of recommendations by the task force that was created as a result of the shooting in the Parkland high school, where 17 students and faculty lost their lives.

 

“Every child needs a safe and secure learning environment,” DeSantis said in a June 7 press release.

 

The signing also comes after the recent tragedy in an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, where 19 children and two teachers were killed by an 18-year-old gunman.

 

In Florida, HB 1421 requires law enforcement officers to train in active shooter drills, school boards to enact family reunification plans for the aftermath of an evacuation, and for schools to have an 80 percent certification rate of personnel receiving mandatory youth mental health awareness training. It will go into effect on July 1.

 

The bill will extend the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Commission until 2026 and revise their responsibilities from investigating system failures at the school and other previous mass shootings in Florida. They are also charged with recommending improvements to those systems and monitoring the implementation of school safety laws.

 

The bill will authorize the state’s education commissioner to enforce school safety and security compliance, permit school officers to arrest people in charter schools, and requires those officers to complete an intervention training course to improve skills to de-escalate situations on school grounds.

 

The bill that was passed in March during the regular session did not address gun violence or any controls on weapons and background checks as has been called for in the wake of the Uvalde Elementary school shooting as well as other recent mass shootings.

It is with Bayer-Monsanto and BP that Francis hopes to save the planet, with Bank of America as well as with Big Pharma’s own Merck and Johnson & Johnson that he fancies conjuring up an ethical capitalism. Would he be then more like the pope of a new marketing logic? As it happens, it is precisely in the name of defending the environment, inclusivity, equity or social justice, that the corporate ‘stakeholders’ of the global governance are trying to enforce their agenda — which is nothing less than converting the whole planet and every human dwelling on its surface into assets tradeable on the stock market.

 

Bergoglio, in that respect, is a case study. Following in the wake of Davos’ World Economic Forum (WEF), he has turned the Vatican into a spokesperson for the global governance. Meanwhile, the policymakers of this very governance, since they are no longer willing to exploit the consumerist lust for happiness of the masses, but would now rather bet on coercion, have wrought a new marketing strategy. They hide their old endless yearning for power behind a fresh storytelling: the need to part radically with individualistic, energy-intensive, neoliberal capitalism. The global elite is accumulating all the goods it is still short of, confiscating civil liberties and concentrating all the power in its own hands, however this coup is being staged within a new narrative of being concerned about climate change and biodiversity, dedicated to the common good, hostile to selfish individualism, and negative when it comes to the free market. Otherwise stated: communitarian. As a matter of fact, Francis’ message to the world epitomizes this new kind of ‘responsible capitalism’ PR. Down to every single catchword.

Pope Francis emerged, at the end of winter 2020, as one of the major public voices in favour of the so-called sanitary restrictions that were implemented around the globe at the time by national public health agencies and governments, in accordance with the WHO’s guidance. When, to the great dismay of many Catholics, governments began to outlaw religious gatherings, the pope didn’t lose time in weighing in on the matter with all his authority in favour of these policies. For the first time in history, a Successor of Peter, together in this with the secular powers, forbad Catholics to go to Mass, or to any other ceremony, even the Easter Vigil, calling for people to stay ‘obedient’ to their governments’ lockdown measures. The few bishops, such as Bp Schneider, who dared to oppose these restrictions would get scolded or ignored —as they were conservatives whose words were easy to spurn in the eyes of mainstream media. For instance, Abp Viganò was quick to publicly expose this collusion between the present papacy and the corporate global governance, but mainstream medias made sure his message wouldn’t get through.

 

His Polish predecessor’s favourite catchphrase had been ‘Be not afraid’, but the Argentinian pope had no qualm about joining his voice to the choir of all those who sung, like the former British health secretary Hancock or his French counterpart Véran, the antiphon composed by ‘health experts’: Be afraid! An antiphon of which verse could have been: Until we have a vaccine, we have no other option to curb the infection rate than XI Jinping’s own brand-new approach.

 

In November 2020, Francis took it upon himself to defend the Chinese tactic from the general public’s scepticism in the so-very-consensual New York Times: “As if measures that governments must impose for the good of their people constitute some kind of political assault on autonomy or personal freedom!” People are stuck in lockdown, families can’t be reunited, collective rites are banished, elderly folk die in isolation, family businesses are wrecked, thousands of youngsters are pushed to commit suicide, but it’s for their own good. The few governments that dared not to give in to panic, and would not comply with the directives from the CCP and the WHO, were severely chastised by Bergoglio as “governments that shrugged off the painful evidence of mounting deaths, with inevitable, grievous consequences”.

 

Since then, he has become the staunch advocate of the universal genetic experimentation campaign known as vaccination, even for children. Not a word on the success of early treatments trialed in poor countries. Not a word on the extremely low lethality of SARS-CoV2. And, of course, not a word on the highly experimental nature of the genic injections concocted by Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca or Johnson & Johnson. Again, Bergoglio falters not one iota from the official narrative relentlessly hammered within the mainstream media: the world is confronted with a daunting threat; stay home or at least practise ‘social distancing’, accept contact tracking and wear a mask; universal vaccination is the one and only road to salvation.

 

He wishes to enforce on every human a genetic experimentation, be that through marketing, blackmail or simple coercion

 

In his interview book Oltre la tempesta, Francis, along with MSM and politicians, tells the public to ‘Believe in science.’ The Successor of Peter sets his faith and hope in the triumphant announcements of Pfizer or Moderna, just as his predecessors would have done with the articles of the Christian Creed: “We need to regain our hope and faith in science today: thanks to the vaccine, we shall slowly find back our way to the light”. We cannot, even for a second, presume that he chose this wording ‘faith and hope’ by accident. Out of the mouth of a pope, such words can only refer to the first two Christian virtues known as the theological virtues.

A pope to the global partnership

Is this simply another example of an institution swimming with the stream? After all, the pope is merely singing the same tune as all the other Western heads of state. But there is more to it: Francis Bergoglio sees himself as an active partner of the great social and economic upheaval instigated by the global governance in the wake of the Covid crisis, and advertised by the WEF under the ‘Great Reset’ brand name. As it happens, this global governance is supposed to gather the world’s public and private ‘stakeholders’ inside a ‘partnership’. The latter, which is more like a subservience of the state to the corporate global elite, is meant to allow the technocratic managerial ruling class to decide the planet’s future far from any democratic process. This is what they call the Global Public-Private Partnership (GPPP or G3P).

 

‘Stakeholder capitalists’, as they like to call themselves, represent the senior partners. Basically, these are the financial and Info Tech complex, that is to say the finance industry (BlackRock, Vanguard and the SIFI international investment banks) in collusion with Info Tech (Big Tech), under the aegis of the central banks (BIS, Fed, ECB and BoE), while good old Big Oil (and all the industries, such as Big Food, depending on it) stands in the background. They consider themselves to be responsible as a whole for global public common good in a decisive and vital way. These CEOs and chairmen are the real policymakers. The junior partners are the governments and their respective state apparatus (with the exception of China which holds a specific position in the food chain). States are some kind of ‘middle-management’ to the global corporate oligopoly… The global governance also relies heavily on international institutions such as the IMF, World Bank, WTO or OECD, NGOs such as the WHO, and, of course, the main private NPOs such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Wellcome Trust or Rockefeller Foundation…

 

And then come the stakeholders’ global assemblies (for want of a better word), among which the Vatican looks forward to holding rank. The task of these particular NPOs is to think over the agenda conducted by the senior partners, and to coordinate the decisions of those in charge of implementing the policies derived from this agenda. Right now, the main one is undoubtedly the World Economic Forum (WEF), whose lifelong chairman Dr Klaus Schwab managed over time to allow the Davos Forum to become the inescapable ‘hub’ of the said global partnership. Contrarily to the low-profile clubs such as the central bankers’ Group of Thirty, the public-private Bilderberg Group and Trilateral Commission, or the older Chatham House and Council on Foreign Relations, the WEF takes on, with a lot of publicity, the mission with which it is endowed, by virtue of the corporate ‘community’ it serves. The global governance does not need to hide any longer. Actually, the WEF is in charge of its public relations, and is therefore at the helm of a huge marketing campaign designed to push ‘civil society’ to welcome the governance’s new policies: the Great Reset and the subsequent 4th Industrial Revolution. Upon the wreckages left by the COVID crisis and thanks to the narrow ‘window of opportunity’ the latter offers, stakeholder capitalists will be able to implement a new ‘responsible capitalism’ transcending both Keynesianism and Neoliberalism. Or so they say.

The pope of the Great Reset

In addition to his role as a moral guarantee, Francis — but not quite as raucously — plays the same part in the game as poor Greta Thunberg with whom the Davos Forum likes to associate. In the same fashion as her, the present pope is a staunch critic of the actual economic system, and a champion for a net-zero sustainable world. As I mentioned, this is precisely the kind of narrative that the global policymakers, such as BlackRock CEO Larry Fink, have decided to hijack in order to sell us the great transformation they wish to implement.

 

Unsurprisingly, the Vatican is tightly linked with the international financial world: since 2006, the APSA (Amministrazione del Patrimonio della Sede Apostolica, the entity in charge of managing the Vatican’s huge stock exchange and real estate portfolios) could rely on Peter Sutherland as a Special Advisor. A loud champion of the ‘open border’ policy, he was also appointed to chair the International Catholic Commission on Migrations from 2015 to his death in 2018. This father of globalisation was formerly chairman of GATT, then the WTO’s co-founder, but also a chairman of BP and Goldman Sachs, and needless to say a member of the WEF’s Foundation Board, among many other things…

 

Similarly, in 2021, Pope Francis appointed a WEF Agenda Contributor, the very Malthusian economist Jeffrey Sachs, to the same Pontifical Academy of Social Science (Jeffrey Sachs who happens to be the director of The Lancet’s Committee on Covid and also to be a friend of Peter Daszak, chair of Ecohealth-Alliance, whom Sachs nominated for a while at the head of the Lancet commission on the origins of the pandemic, the same Daszak who supervised the financing of the coronavirus’ ‘Gain of Function’ research in Wuhan, because it’s indeed a small world).

 

He hopes to be one of the communicators of the great transition packaged by Klaus Schwab under the ‘Great Reset’ branding

 

As for Francis himself, the WEF was able to make use of his planetary image, since Francis sent a message to the annual Davos Summit on no fewer than four occasions. Furthermore, a Davos roundtable is chaired by a Vatican delegate every year.

 

Again, he appears to be a faithful spokesperson of the WEF’s storytelling. He hopes to be one of the communicators of the great transition packaged by Klaus Schwab under the ‘Great Reset’ branding. The introduction of the encyclical Fratelli Tutti (October 2020) is quite telling in this respect: “…the Covid-19 pandemic unexpectedly erupted, exposing our false securities. Aside from the different ways that various countries responded to the crisis, their inability to work together became quite evident. For all our hyper-connectivity, we witnessed a fragmentation that made it more difficult to resolve problems that affect us all. Anyone who thinks that the only lesson to be learned was the need to improve what we were already doing, or to refine existing systems and regulations, is denying reality”.

 

According to Bergoglio, the crucial element of this mutation is precisely the establishment of such a global public-private partnership governance. In his 2021 message to the World Bank and the IMF, framed within all the communitarian pathos, he states that the present genetic experimentation roll-out opens a perfect window to this global partnership (devoid of too many democratic constraints): “we especially need a justly financed vaccine solidarity, for we cannot allow the law of the marketplace to take precedence over the law of love and the health of all. Here, I reiterate my call to government leaders, businesses and international organizations to work together in providing vaccines for all, especially for the most vulnerable and needy (Urbi et Orbi Message, Christmas Day 2020). It is my hope that in these days your formal deliberations and your personal encounters will bear much fruit for the discernment of wise solutions for a more inclusive and sustainable future. A future where finance is at the service of the common good, where the vulnerable and the marginalized are placed at the center, and where the earth, our common home, is well cared for”.

The pope of Bayer-Monsanto: a historical turning point

Internal crises are not a new thing to the papacy. Rome, for a long while, became a tool in the hands of power-hungry pontiffs filled with earthly ambitions, or on the contrary a tool in the hands of a prince in need of apostolical standing. The Holy See is known to have, once or twice, sought some rather embarrassing external help or compromise. In 1830, Pie VIII condemned the Polish Catholic insurgents to please the Czar. In 1888, Leo XIII excommunicated Irish Catholic protesters to gain the favour of the British Empire. Since then, the Vatican has been prepared to enter into lengthy negotiations with Lenin, strike a deal with Mussolini and sign a concordat with Hitler… However, this is a turning point: never before has a pope been tempted to embrace the ideologies of the regimes with which he has pursued an arrangement. Never has the papacy been driven by the ambition to spread their agenda.

 

Today, nonetheless, an institution that proclaims its universal jurisdiction over Christians is at the same time endeavouring to partner with a technocratic global governance thriving under the aegis of big corporations. Rome sees itself as some kind of ‘spiritual’ partner of the corporate elite aspiring to completely dominate the planet. This affiliation to the global agenda was formally acknowledged when Lynn Forester de Rothschild launched the Council for Inclusive Capitalism with The Vatican, ‘under the guidance’ of pope Bergoglio and Cardinal Turkson. Around the pope, and around the smaller fellowship of the ‘Guardians for Inclusive Capitalism’, the Council gathers the ‘world’s business and public sector leaders’, notably CEOs in search of a ‘sustainable’, ‘resilient’, ‘inclusive’, ‘responsible’, ‘equitable’ and ‘fair’ capitalism (I hope I didn’t miss a catchword), such as the CEOs of Johnson & Johnson, Merck, Bank of America, BP and Bayer-Monsanto (whose ethical and environmental expertise is recognized worldwide). By their side, we find the Ford and Rockefeller Foundations’ chairmen, and the herald of the Net-Zero finance industry, the ubiquitous Mark Carney. The Council “is an historic collaboration of CEOs and global leaders inspired by the moral guidance of His Holiness Pope Francis. Ours is a moral and market imperative to make economies more inclusive and sustainable with a movement of bold, business-led actions that span the economic ecosystem”.

 

Pope Bergoglio is orchestrating a marketing campaign for the global governance’s agenda

 

The founder and chairwoman of ‘The Council’ (as they say), Lynn Forester de Rothschild, herself managing partner of Inclusive Capital Partners (and Jeffrey Epstein’s longtime friend), states that “Capitalism has created enormous global prosperity, but it has also left too many people behind, led to degradation of our planet, and is not widely trusted in society. This Council will follow the admonishment of Pope Francis to listen to ‘the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor’ and answer society’s demands for a more equitable and sustainable model of growth”. Unsurprisingly, their website (‘commitments’) is very much aligned with the seventeen UN and WEF Global Goals for 2030. Our ‘inclusive capitalists’, like the WEF, hope to display a narrative that is intended to be perceived as ‘leftist’ or at least communitarian: they insist that modern big economical movers should be held accountable for their impact on the environment, notably on the climate; for their choice to be inclusive of all kinds of minorities; for their willingness to give everyone a chance; for what they do to welcome refugees… In the same fashion Francis, the smiling and benevolent fatherly figure of ‘responsible capitalism’, wishes to be perceived as the gay-friendly pope, a friend to the migrants, and the ‘green pope’ known for his hardcore militancy against climate change. In other words, pope Bergoglio is orchestrating a marketing campaign for the global governance’s agenda.

The pope of the 4th Industrial Revolution and transhumanism

With whom should we reflect on this future ‘post-Covid society and world’? Well, for instance, with the Roman NPO humanity2-0.org, ‘developed’ by Father Philip Larrey.

 

“Developed in collaboration with the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development at the Holy See and a consortium of leaders and luminaries, Humanity 2.0 seeks to unite humanity in the common cause of realizing a better world for our children”. And since “Humanity 2.0 is a vehicle for facilitating collaborative ventures between the traditionally siloed public, private and faith-based sectors”, CEOs such as those of CISCO, Virgin or Publicis, have joined in to bless this partnership with their corporate power. No reference to Christianity on its website, watched by a figure of the Goddess Athena, but a brief quote from Thomas Aquinas.

 

Its chairman, Father Larrey, is a priest and the dean of Faculty of Philosophy at the pontifical Latran University, but also an apostle of the 4th Industrial Revolution (actoninstitute.it), dear to the heart of Klaus Schwab. He is the author of Artificial Humanity, a book where he displays his faith in future Artificial Intelligence—as an entity endowed with real intelligence—, but hopes that it remains human.

 

Francis, while proclaiming his faith in what he believes to be tomorrow’s technology and AI in particular, seems to be quoting father Larrey almost ad verbatim, adding only his own personal communitarian tone. In a short videoclip, the pope invites Christians to “pray for a ‘human’ AI”. Because “robotics can make a better world possible if it is joined to the common good. […] Let us pray that the progress of robotics and artificial intelligence may always serve humankind. We could say: may it ‘be human’”. At a Davos Summit, but in the context of growing unemployment due to automation, he declared that “Artificial intelligence, robotics and other technological innovations must be so employed that they contribute to the service of humanity and to the protection of our common home, rather than to the contrary” (Davos Forum 2018). We are not very far from the transhumanist creed advocated by its mainstream media spokespersons such as Yuval Noah Harari. AI might actually be dangerous, however for the plebs to be protected from its potential evils, we need the technocratic elite to be in charge…

 

Transhumanist ideology, notably its belief in the future advent of a Great Biodigital Convergence, is a key point of the 4th Industrial Revolution preached by the WEF. The human and the machine will have to merge through data-mining, with the help of genome editing and digital implants, so that we can give birth to an ‘augmented human.’ The barrier between random biological entities and programmable digital technologies will be removed. The very idea of life as well as that of freedom are obsolete: life and notably the human soul are but extremely complex algorithms drawn from chemical and electromagnetic reactions. He who will master the data of these algorithms will thus be able to ‘hack’ human beings, as Yuval Noah Harari puts it, in a speech delivered to his Davos masters in 2018. Furthermore, even the transhumanistic hope in an eternal life, fulfilled either through cellular ageing prevention or through “Whole Brain Emulation”, is starting to attract large investments from big companies. But, even with a lot of imagination, it seems rather difficult to reconcile these dreams with the teaching of Francis’ predecessors.

 

This didn’t stop Father Larrey chairing two meetings given in Rome at the Teutonic College, along with Carlos Moreira and David Ferguson, under the patronage of a mysterious Elite Global Leaders Conference. Both Moreira and Ferguson are famous for being advocates of transhumanism, for having co-authored the Transhuman Code, and having created the oiste Think Tank which is part of the WEF’s galaxy. The first, held in July 2019, dealt precisely with the Transhuman Code. The same zealous apostles of the future technocratic utopia came back in October 2021 to discuss the ‘Technology that Empowers Humanity’…

‘For things to remain the same…’ '

How could the papacy transform itself so radically? It is a challenging question to the historian. The various ecclesiastical scandals with which Bergoglio is personally involved might provide us with the beginning of an explanation. This pope is known for covering up to the bitter end the crimes perpetrated by high prelates (McCarrick, Zanchetta, Maradiaga and many more), although all of them were facing grave and well-documented accusations of sexual abuse or financial corruption, or even both. Only full public exposure made possible their dismissal. Bergoglio emerged as what he really is: a bureaucrat ready to protect his fellow collaborators at any price. On the other hand, this is the same man who was trying to please public opinion while strengthening Rome’s policy against sexual abuses committed by ordinary priests. A decent communicator, as are most modern top managers, he is always ready to spin his institution out of trouble with well-practised storytelling.

 

Religious conservatives who are worried about the exhibition of Pachamama statuettes in a church near the Vatican need not be. Such displays do not constitute a statement of syncretism nor of ecological neopaganism. No more than do the loud public pledges to the ‘defense of the planet’, ‘against climate change,’ or ‘in favour of the environment’ staged by the financial or industrial so-called stakeholders. Francis doesn’t worship Mother Earth any more than his private sector partners, hell-bent on a massive grab of what natural goods are left. This is pure spin.

 

However, the world is indeed changing and Rome is changing too. Clearly, the top of the Catholic hierarchy doesn’t want to take a counter-cultural stand: it would rather follow dominant ideology, even to the price of swallowing a certain amount of transhumanism. Was the Jesuit Bergoglio once under the influence of the mystical scientism of Teilhard de Chardin S.J.? Maybe. However, there is another simpler reason for this move. The papacy is now in reality extremely weak and Francis cannot accept this. All over the world, churches are empty or emptying, even in its former strongholds such as Latin America. The only communities that survive are tiny, scattered, and display a fair amount of conservatism, even sometimes traditionalism. The Vatican, as such, has become a terribly outdated institution, not very well suited to the size and reach of the communities it is supposed to supervise. Although he carries on doing so, in the face of official statistics, the pope is not really in a position to speak to humanity as if he were still some spiritual and moral authority followed all over the world by more than a billion of the faithful. The only card left in his hand, in a secularized world, is what he still represents in theory, but not in reality: a certain aura associated with his white cassock, Saint Peter’s Plaza and Basilica, the Vatican palace, the Sistine Chapel, the Swiss Guards (provided they are ‘vaccinated’ of course!) and the pontifical universities.

 

He is willing to actively cooperate in enforcing a global totalitarian system

 

Bergoglio’s entire existence is a life of compliance to the hierarchical structures to which he adhered. His career is built upon a constant and faithful conformity to the successive dominant narratives he went through: from Perón’s populist narrative (pope Francis the Dictator) to Schwab’s elitist narrative. Catholicism is now too weak to be able to provide him with a socially hegemonic ideology, while at the same time his deepest bureaucratic instinct prevents him turning away from contemporary groupthink. Furthermore, if Francis had opted to dedicate himself to the tiny catholic minority that still exists, he would have taken the risk of pushing the old pontifical Rome into oblivion and anonymity in the eyes of the general public. That was not a choice a man of the apparatus like him could have made. His wish was to remain faithful to Rome as he sees it: a world-leading institution—like it was before. Francis, therefore, has chosen to try and become one of the ‘stakeholders’ of the global governance. Thus, he is willing to impart what’s left of the ageless cachet of his position to their new gigantic corporate partners. Thus, he is willing to actively cooperate in enforcing a global totalitarian system, ultimately based on digital surveillance and genetic experimentations that are killing millions of people. ‘Se vogliamo che tutto rimanga come è, bisogna che tutto cambi!’*

SYDNEY, June 7 (Reuters) - A Russian-owned superyacht docked in Fiji departed for the United States on Tuesday after a court in the Pacific island nation ordered its removal.

 

The 350-foot Amadea arrived in Fiji on April 13 after an 18-day voyage from Mexico. It was seized by Fiji authorities after the country's High Court granted a U.S. warrant last month that linked the yacht to sanctioned Russian oligarch Suleiman Kerimov.

 

The United States alleges Kerimov beneficially owns the Amadea, although lawyers for the vessel have denied this and told the court it was owned by another Russian oligarch, Eduard Khudainatov, the former chief of Russian energy giant Rosneft, who has not been sanctioned.

Introduction

Military Self-Destruction

 

Since the West did refuse to negotiate, the battleground is for now the ultra-militarised Eastern Ukraine. However, the War is not between brother Ukrainians and brother Russians, but between Washington with its NATO/EU vassals and Moscow with its Donbass Allies. There is no doubt that Russia will win in the Ukraine, as it has complete air and naval superiority. The Russian-speaking East and South of the Ukraine, Novorossija, part of Russia until 1922, is being liberated by a smallish expeditionary force of the Russian Army together with local troops. However, the Operation was never planned to be a short one, most knew that it would take months and perhaps, on account of possible NATO meddling, a year or more.

 

The War is longer because the Kiev Army has been preparing for it for eight long years. It has been building trenches and fortifications, arming itself with a huge amount of NATO training and weaponry, which the Russian Armed Forces are being forced to destroy, together with Ukrainian Nazis, Western mercenaries and NATO instructors. From this conflict a new Ukraine will be born. Perhaps it will once more be called Malorossija or perhaps it will keep its ‘Borderlands’ name. In any case it will be a smallish country, with a population of perhaps some 15 million, centred on Kiev. Whatever its name, it will effectively be the Kievan Protectorate, part of the Union State with the Russian Federation, Belarus and probably others.

Political Death

 

Those opposed to the Special Operation and its consequences have been revealed. The Russian and other traitors in our midst, of whom we have continually warned and not been heeded, have shown themselves. Many, though by no means all (though we will not here name names), have run away from Russia and elsewhere been removed. They did not understand the words that the struggle in the Ukraine is a ‘metaphysical one’. The oligarchs and all who treasure dollar bills and the approval of Western Establishments above all else will never understand this – that we have values that are higher than gold. Today the seven billion people of the Non-Western world are ranged against the one billion of the Western world. All the international foundations, the UN, IMF, WHO etc, are going to be remade. Why should some of them at least not be headquartered in Russia? Either in Saint Petersburg, or in Ekaterinburg, or in the Crimea.

 

The UN, perhaps to be renamed ‘The Union of the Peoples’ or something similar, should be supported by the greatest nations from all Continents and Civilisations: China, India, Indonesia, Pakistan, Brazil, Nigeria, Bangladesh, Russia, Mexico, Japan, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Egypt and Vietnam. Perhaps there would be other nations which have yet to be reformed from the relics of the present. For example, at the ultimate conclusion of this Special Operation, there is no reason why the USA or the EU should continue to exist. Once they have collapsed and been denazified and reformed, then a new nation or group from North America and Western Europe, for instance, a North American Confederation or a Gaullist-style Federation of the Sovereign Nations of Europe, could be allowed to join and take part in the new World Symphony of Nations. Its anthem could perhaps be taken appropriatey From the New World, the Ninth Symphony by Dvorak.

Economic Suicide

 

Apart from raw material extraction, technological corporations, weapons industries and vast service sectors (services servicing services), the Western world relies on ‘funny money’ in order to survive. In other words, it lives off printing presses that print banknotes. These create unpayable debt and systemic inflation. For decades the Western world has been living in a fool’s paradise of debt. However, it is now reaching a point when it can no longer even pay off the interest on that debt. Bankruptcy beckons.

 

On the other hand, the real world relies not on speculation in ‘derivatives’ and ‘futures’, but on solid things, commodities, food to eat (grain, maize and the fertilisers to grow them), oil and gas to power and heat, raw materials and minerals to manufacture with. In other words, for several decades the Western world has been living in a bubble. That bubble is now bursting: the chickens are coming home to roost, perhaps already this winter, if not before. Expect widespread protests throughout the Western world and against the Western world.

Cultural Nihilism

 

For several decades now, especially since the 1960s, the Western world appears to have abandoned its cultural foundations and educational systems. The signs then were hordes of young girls screaming about their hormones, as they listened to the musical sounds of longish-haired young men. However, the first signs of this cultural nihilism had already appeared long before, by 1914, in various artistic and literary isms, but they were esoteric, very limited in size and much-mocked by the general public. Yet by 1949 the renowned English artist, Sir Alfred Munnings, could excoriate members of the British Royal Academy for practising modern art, calling Picasso and Matisse ‘foolish daubers’.

 

The infantilisation of the Western educational system – the primary that has become the nursery, the secondary that has become the primary and the tertiary (university) that has become the secondary – reveals it. A doctorate is now really no longer very meaningful, for children are told that they are geniuses just for being able to recognise the letters of the Latin alphabet. This degeneration has produced an infantilised society, as is clearly visible from the level of politicians and journalists in particular, but it is everywhere visible in the illiteracy and innumeracy of contemporary Western societies. Little wonder that we have come to the Nazism of ‘Cancel Russia’, meaning cancel Pushkin, cancel Dostoyevsky, cancel Tchaikovsky, that is, cancel culture.

Conclusion

 

We are now at a turning-point, not just in European history, but in world history. The prophecies of saints are being realised. For example, the Russian saint Aristocleus, speaking in 1917, foretold: ‘The end will come through China. There will be some unusual outburst and a miracle of God will be revealed’. Only a few years ago that prophecy seemed meaningless. Now we can begin to think that perhaps he was referring to coronavirus, or else perhaps to the coming return of Taiwan to China? Or perhaps something else, which we have not at all foreseen. Time will show us, but here are curious possibilities.

 

Let us be honest. Either Russia is victorious in this Very Special Operation or else we shall enter a Dark Age, from which there will be no end because it will be an Orwellian One World Government. Such One World Dictatorship will brook no opposition, all who challenge it will be repressed. This is our last chance to resist and strike back against the aggression that began in 1914, aggression that was military, political, economic and cultural, a totalitarian aggression that leads to total death, the death of body and soul. But according to all the military reports, let alone the prophecies, Russia will be victorious.

In-Q-Tel — the CIA’s venture capital arm — and the military are investing heavily in the metaverse. There are growing concerns they’re wasting taxpayer money.

 

LAST SUMMER,Looking Glass Factory, a company based in the Greenpoint neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York, revealed its latest consumer device: a slim, holographic picture frame that turns photos taken on iPhones into 3D displays. Linus Sebastian, an affable YouTube personality behind the immensely popular technology channel Linus Tech Tips, gave his viewers a preview of the technology.

Sebastian praised the Looking Glass Portrait as “freaking awesome,” especially considering the progress the company had made since Sebastian had toured their office two years earlier, after $2.5 million in money from a Kickstarter campaign. “For the price, for the amount of development work, and how niche this thing is, it honestly looks like a pretty compelling value for the right customer,” marveled Sebastian. “Which raises the questions, who is that exactly?”

Sebastian suggested the product would be a perfect fit for those who wanted to “flex” with a novelty piece of artwork or a designer seeking to preview their own work.

But Looking Glass Factory’s other customers went unmentioned in any of the splashy coverage of the new device: the Central Intelligence Agency and the Department of Defense. The military was interested in holographic technology, but the price was a potential obstacle. “The high cost of assembling holographic display devices are restraining market growth,” noted International Defense Security & Technology, a trade publication, last year. One of the growing players in the market, IDST added, is Looking Glass Factory.

 

Looking Glass received $2.54 million of “technology development” funding from In-Q-Tel, the venture capital arm of the CIA, from April 2020 to March 2021 and a $50,000 Small Business Innovation Research award from the U.S. Air Force in November 2021 to “revolutionize 3D/virtual reality visualization.”

With a brick and black metal facade, Looking Glass looks, from the outside, like another art studio in New York City, but its connection to the intelligence community is not disclosed on its website or public facing materials. Looking Glass Factory did not respond — in person, by phone, or by email — to requests for comment. In-Q-Tel also did not respond to a request for comment.

 

Across the various branches of the military and intelligence community, contract records show a rush to jump on holographic display technology, augmented reality, and virtual reality display systems as the latest trend. According to its advocates, augmented reality goggles will allow soldiers to see through buildings and mountains to visualize enemies on the other side of the battlefield, or even serve as the primary interface for pilots of unmanned drones, tanks, or underwater vehicles.

Critics argue that the technology isn’t quite ready for prime time, and that the urgency to adopt it reflects the Pentagon’s penchant for high-priced, high-tech contracts based on the latest fad in warfighting.

A perfect simulated reality that is indistinguishable from real life will ultimately take one of two forms: it will either manipulate real light and real matter, like the Star Trek Holodeck, or it will remove the “middleman” of wearable VR inputs and instead directly manipulate our perceptions through a machine-brain interface, like that envisioned in The Matrix. Between those perfect simulations and the current state of the art, we envision the emergence of hybrids, such as the manipulation of real light (holograms) combined with haptic gloves, or the direct manipulation of the brain’s sense of touch combined with VR/AR contact lenses, or many other such combinations involving other senses. Given where VR is now compared to just 10 years ago, and the historical pace of technological change since the Industrial Revolution, it’s astounding to consider how VR might continue to evolve. We think these “perfect systems” may emerge within the next two centuries, and that the current state of the art provides a strong foundation to build upon.

The rapid investments from government sources in augmented and virtual reality reflect the vision laid out eight years ago. Mojo Vision, a startup based in Saratoga, California, is developing an augmented reality contact lens using “tiny microLED” displays the size of a grain of sand to project images directly onto the retina. The company is backed financially by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, or DARPA, a research and development arm of the Pentagon.

In 2018, In-Q-Tel backed a startup called Immersive Wisdom that provides communication and data sharing interfaces. “Allowing multiple users to be anywhere in the world, while still being connected via the same virtual space containing shared maps, video feeds, and real-time data, offers a significant new edge,” In-Q-Tel said in a statement at the time.

In-Q-Tel also invested in DigiLens, the producers of a low-cost holographic lens used for augmented and virtual reality glasses. Last year, the Air Force awarded $1.2 million in contracts to the company.

IVAS provides headsets to guide soldiers through unfamiliar territory, along with machine learning to instantly distinguish between friend or foe, and targeting systems for tracking vehicles and objects on the battlefield. (Investor presentations show the IVAS contract is also supported by Ultralife Corp., a battery provider, and Intevac, which produces night vision sensors and cameras for the defense industry.)

The Army has touted the system as a way to “fight, rehearse, and train” using “advanced eyewear that places simulated images in a Soldier’s view of real-world environments,” allowing soldiers to see through smoke or complete darkness.

The initial contract for the IVAS system, which is based on Microsoft’s HoloLens technology, was awarded to Microsoft and a number of other firms.

But the IVAS contract, which could one day cost upward of $22 billion, has faced chronic delays and failures. Last October, the Army pushed the official launch date to September 2022 for the product for operational fielding and testing.

The Defense Department’s 2021 annual report from its Director of Operational Test & Evaluation, or DOT&E, painted a sobering picture. According to the report, “Soldiers continue to lack confidence in their ability to complete the most essential warfighting functions effectively and safely while wearing the IVAS in all mission scenarios.” At worst, the goggles led to soldiers being unable to “distinguish enemy from friendly forces.”

 

But all such damning details were — despite congressional appeal — redacted from the publicly available version of the DOT&E’s report through being labeled as “controlled unclassified information,” or CUI. And while the Department of Defense Office of Inspector General made headlines last month through a report based on DOT&E’s critique, the underlying details remained redacted.

The CUI version of the Defense Department’s testing report was only made public through a leak to the nonprofit Project on Government Oversight, where Grazier works. POGO’s primary reason for releasing the document was to help expose the failure of the F-35 program, but Grazier stated that he ultimately released the entire document in hopes of crowdsourcing the analysis of broader instances of fraud, waste, and abuse.

“If you can’t distinguish between a friendly troop and an enemy troop, then you’re going to have a very difficult time distinguishing a civilian,” noted Grazier. “If a soldier can’t identify friends or enemies with their vision system,” he added, “that tells me that system probably needs a lot more work or possibly needs to be scrapped altogether.”

Soon after Congress put $349 million of its IVAS funding on hold in March, Insider reported on a leaked Microsoft memo in which a manager wrote that the company “expect[s] soldier sentiment to continue to be negative as reliability improvements have been minimal from previous events.” HoloLens boss Alex Kipman reportedly described his team as “[s]o depressed, so demoralized, so broken.” The Wall Street Journal reported that roughly 100 Microsoft HoloLens employees left to work at Facebook parent company Meta Platforms Inc. in 2021.

In February, Secretary of the U.S. Air Force Christine Wormuth also poured cold water on the project, at an event for the Center for a New American Security, tempering expectations.

“Remember early satellite phones from the 1980s that wealthy people had in their cars?” said Wormuth during the event. “They were big and clunky and now we have iPhones. It took us some time to get there. The first iteration of IVAS may not be quite as streamlined as we want it to be ultimately, but it’s the alpha version, and we need to start there.”

The military, including soldiers at Fort Benning, have found some productive applications of the IVAS system. Rather than forming the basis of futuristic cyborg warriors, the HoloLens goggles have been an expensive thermal sensor for rapidly detecting soldier temperatures — as a way to screen Covid-19 cases.

IN-Q-TEL HAS A history of working closely with companies that have commercial success providing consumer products while developing innovations with military applications. The investment fund, for instance, backed a skin care company with a line of popular beauty products that had created a method for removing biomarkers that could be used for intelligence purposes. AR and VR technology appears to follow the same track, where consumer products are helping fuel the advancement of innovations that can be one day used for the military.

Before founding Looking Glass Factory in 2014, their CEO, Shawn Frayne and then-CTO Alex Hornstein had each run separate pieces of the Ocean Invention Network, an interconnected group of inventor labs. Press coverage in early 2013 described the network as “an indie rock supergroup of the cleantech scene; Haddock Invention, which opened shop in 2006, is on lead guitar, while Mantis Shrimp Invention, opened in Manila (Philippines) by Alex Hornstein in 2012, hits the drums. The Solar Pocket Factory … is their hit single.”

Frayne and Hornstein had both completed bachelors of science at Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the early 2000s: Frayne in physics in 2003 and Hornstein in electrical engineering in 2007. Their third partner was Jordan McRae, who finished his B.S. in aerospace engineering at MIT in 2005 (and spent two years working for Lockheed Martin before joining the Ocean Invention Network as CTO of Humdinger Wind Energy under Frayne).

Frayne and Hornstein’s Haddock and Mantis Shrimp labs would collaborate on Solar Pocket Factory, a “coffee-table size machine that makes panels small enough to power pocket-size devices.” As reported by Fast Company, the effort raised $78,000 via Kickstarter in 2012 but by the end of 2013, Frayne and Hornstein had pivoted to purchasing solar panels from a factory in Dongguan, China, adding the ability to control them with a cellphone, then renting them out for $1.50 to $2 per week. They would partner with a utility company in the Philippines as part of a trial on top of 20 homes in the island of Alibijaban. (This last incarnation was called Tiny Pipes.)

While Frayne and Hornstein would move on from the Ocean Invention Network to focus on Looking Glass Factory’s holographic devices in 2014, McRae’s component of the network, Octo23, would continue on until 2017. Octo23 began with a mandate as broad as the Ocean Invention Network’s: “clean energy, clean water, ocean conservation, and robotics.” But it later focused on OCTOtalk, a “proprietary technology to reinvent the diving/snorkelling mask enabling recreational divers and snorkelers to talk underwater” — a product that McRae then repackaged for the military.

McRae’s Mobilus Labs, founded in 2017, produces bone conduction communication technology that would later be combined with Microsoft’s HoloLens 2 in Trimble’s XR10 hardhat and, reportedly, tested by the British Army.

Hornstein ultimately departed Looking Glass in February 2021 — his LinkedIn status remains “tbd” — and both Mobilus and Looking Glass were listed among Time magazine’s “Best Inventions of 2021.”

McRae did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

ONE OF THE loudest voices in the startup scene evangelizing the promise of augmented and virtual reality systems for modernizing the military is Palmer Luckey, who founded the technology startup Anduril Industries after Facebook bought his first company, Oculus VR.

During a Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute interview in December titled “Into the Metaverse,” Luckey claimed Facebook’s rebranding to Meta resulted directly from the company’s 2014 acquisition of his virtual reality headset company. “Facebook paid a lot of money for Oculus — a few billion dollars — all the way back then because they saw that our technology was the key for unlocking the Metaverse,” said Luckey. “In a way, Oculus took over Facebook for the Meta rebranding,” he added.

Anduril has been promoting a relatively restrained approach to military adoption of augmented and virtual reality interfaces that emphasizes its usefulness for training. Its central product is Lattice, an artificial intelligence operating system. “I think soldiers are going to be superheroes who have the power of perfect omniscience over their area of operations, where they know where every enemy is, every friend is, every asset is,” Luckey exclaimed, during a 2018 speech.

Last year, in the Reagan Institute talk on defense issues, Luckey was brimming with excitement. “We’ve gotten some really big contracts with DoD including with the U.S. Air Force on the Advanced Battle Management System,” he said. “We’ve integrated our system as part of life fire exercises where we were tying together naval assets, air assets, ground assets, shooting cruise missiles out of the air with real gun systems on the ground — all command and controlled through a virtual reality interface.”

Just last week, Anduril executive David Goodrich posted on LinkedIn about the possible use of the company’s virtual reality headsets as part of its recent Underwater Autonomous Vehicle partnership with the Royal Australian Navy. The video that prominently plays on the company’s website suggests the use of virtual reality headsets for monitoring a fleet of its tube-launched Altius drones.

Anduril maintains a large team of lobbyists, spending roughly a million dollars a year influencing congressional budgets and Pentagon planners, and last year formed an advisory board filled with former top government officials. The board now boasts former CIA chief strategy officer Constantine Saab, retired Adm. Scott Swift, and Kevin McAleenan, President Donald Trump’s acting secretary of homeland security.

Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY), the Vice Chair of the House January 6 committee investigating the 2021 riot at the US Capitol, is sending letters to individuals that have been subpoenaed by the committee asking for campaign contributions.

 

Megan Small, who served as director of operations for the Trump administration and was subpoenaed by the committee in September of last year, posted on Twitter Monday that she received a mailer from Cheney's campaign asking for donations.

 

"Hey @Liz_Cheney, is it standard operating procedure on the Jan. 6 committee to ask subpoenaed witnesses for campaign contributions?," Small said in a Twitter post.

"I did not step a single foot onto the grounds of the Capitol, yet for over a year I've been harassed and maligned in the press through leaks from the committee. I received my subpoena via tweet 2 days before my wedding, had to beg the committee to let me go on my honeymoon, and spent the entire day afraid of marshals showing up to serve people," Small told The Post Millennial.

 

"And now Liz Cheney sends me a solicitation to give her money while her committee still has the ability to refer witnesses, like me, for criminal prosecution. The goal of this committee is to scare conservatives from working in politics. It won't work on me," she added.

 

Cheney, alongside Adam Kinzinger, were the only two Republican representatives to vote in favor of the select committee's creation, which resulted in both of them being selected to serve on the committee.

 

Megan Small is one of many who have been targeted by Speaker Nancy Pelosi's (D-CA) witch hunt into the January 6 attack on the US Capitol following former President Trump's "Stop The Steal" rally. More than 100 "witnesses" have been subpoenaed and only one has ended in a DEpartment of Justice indictment, former President Donald Trump's trade adviser Peter Navarro.

 

Navarro was indicted earlier this month by a federal grand jury for two counts of contempt of Congress, after he refused to comply with a subpoena issued by the January 6 House Select Committee.

 

According to NBC News, Navarro refused to appear on March 2 to testify in response to a subpoena handed down by the committee, and also refused to give the committee by February 23 documents that the same subpoena sought.

 

If convicted, Navarro could face jail time of a minimum of 30 days for each count, with the maximum being 1 year for each. Navarro could also face a fine reaching upwards of $100,000.

 

The committee is set to hold its first public hearing on Thursday, June 9.

Suicidality Among Transgender Youth: Elucidating the Role of Interpersonal Risk Factors

Abstract

Data indicate that 82% of transgender individuals have considered killing themselves and 40% have attempted suicide, with suicidality highest among transgender youth. Using minority stress theory and the interpersonal theory of suicide, this study aims to better understand suicide risk among transgender youth. The present study examines the influence of intervenable risk factors: interpersonal and environmental microaggressions, internalized self-stigma, and adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), and protective factors: school belonging, family support, and peer support on both lifetime suicide attempts and past 6-month suicidality in a sample of transgender youth (n = 372). SPSS 22 was utilized to examine the impact of the independent variables on both suicidality and lifetime suicide attempt through two separate logistic regressions. Fifty six percent of youth reported a previous suicide attempt and 86% reported suicidality. Logistic regressions indicated that models for both lifetime suicide attempts and suicidality were significant. Interpersonal microaggressions, made a unique, statistically significant contribution to lifetime suicide attempts and emotional neglect by family approached significance. School belonging, emotional neglect by family, and internalized self-stigma made a unique, statistically significant contribution to past 6-month suicidality. Results have significant practice and policy implications. Findings offer guidance for practitioners working with parents and caregivers of trans youth, as well as, for the creation of practices which foster interpersonal belonging for transgender youth.
