What might such a history lesson teach us? โ€ฆthat the eugenics movement, which emerged in Europe and the United States around the turn of the last century, was rooted in assumptions about the existence of distinct biological races, with "Anglo-Saxon" societies as the civilizing bedrock of modernity. Supporters of eugenics advocated policies of segregation and apartheid in order to protect the "well born" from contamination. Its leaders believed that a variety of social successes (wealth, political leadership, intellectual discoveries) and social problems (poverty, illegitimacy, crime, mental illness, and unemployment) could be traced to inherited, biological attributes associated with "racial temperament." Is there any other conclusion, asked a popular 1926 textbook (co-authored by a leading California eugenicist), that "the Negro lacks in his germ plasm excellence of some qualities which the white race possess, and which are essential for success in competition with the civilizations of the white races at the present day." Eugenics also targeted poor whites, a distinct and "degenerate" racial typology.

 

โ€ฆ that under the banner of "national regeneration," tens of thousands, mostly poor women, were subjected to involuntary sterilization in the United States between 1907 and 1940. And untold thousands of women were sterilized without their informed consent after World War II. Under California's 1909 sterilization law, at least 20,000 Californians in state hospitals and prisons had been involuntarily sterilized by 1964โ€ฆ

 

โ€ฆ that grounds for sterilization included such vague classifications as "feeblemindedness," "idiocy," "excessive masturbation," "immorality," and "hereditary degeneracy." In 1926, for example, the superintendent of Riverside's Bureau of Welfare and Relief advocated sterilization of "feebleminded," unmarried women as a means to halting the "menace to the race at large."..

Butler as superintendent of the Sonoma Home for the Care and Training of Feebleminded Children, typically patients were not paroled to their families unless sterilized prior to their release. "Dr. Butler has always had a strong weapon to use in getting consents for sterilization," wrote Paul Popenoe of Pasadena's Human Betterment Foundation to eugenicist John Randolph Haynes in 1930..

 

โ€ฆ that sterilization represented only a small part of the eugenics agenda. Eugenics was also a cultural vehicle for expressing anxiety about the "degeneration" of middle-class "Aryans," perceived as resulting from a declining birthrate and, in the words of a leading California eugenicist, the "evil of crossbreeding." For eugenicists, sterilization was not so much a technical, medical procedure to enhance physical and mental health, as it was a way to cleanse the body politic of racial and sexual impurities. Eugenicists strongly supported limits on immigration from non-European countries, a restriction on welfare benefits to poor families, and bans on interracial marriage or "miscegenation." As Sacramento banker Charles M. Goethe, a founder and sponsor of the Eugenics Society of Northern California and Pasadena's Human Betterment Foundation, noted in 1929, the Mexican is "eugenically as low-powered as the Negro. โ€ฆ He not only does not understand health rules: being a superstitious savage, he resists them.

 

โ€ฆ that proponents of eugenics were not obscure cranks or fringe right-wingers, but the best and brightest civic reformers and professional leaders. In southern California, the Human Betterment Foundation enjoyed the active support of banker Henry Robinson, as well as social scientist William Munro and Nobel Prize-winning physicist Robert Millikan, all of whom also served on the board of trustees of San Marino's Huntington Library. Other notables actively involved in eugenics crusades included Stanford's Chancellor David Starr Jordan, publisher Harry Chandler, Sacramento banker Charles M. Goethe, Rabbi Martin Meyer (a member of the State Board of Charities and Corrections, 1911-1920); Rabbi Rudolph Coffee (a founding member of the Human Betterment Foundation, president of the Travelers' Aid Society, 1921-1926, and a member of the State Board of Charities and Corrections, 1924-1931), and John Randolph Haynes, M.D. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Pennsylvania, a banker and real estate dealer, who served on California's State Board of Charities and Corrections (1912-1923) and the University of California Board of Regentsโ€ฆ.

The CIA convinced the Allan Memorial Institute to allow a series of mind control tests on nine patients in the Montreal school, as part of their ongoing Project MKULTRA.[7]

 

The experiments were exported to Canada when the CIA recruited Scottish psychiatrist Donald Ewen Cameron, creator of the "psychic driving" concept, which the CIA found particularly interesting. Cameron had been hoping to correct schizophrenia by erasing existing memories and reprogramming the psyche. He commuted from Albany, New York to Montreal every week and was paid $69,000 from 1957 to 1964 to carry out MKULTRA experiments there. In addition to LSD, Cameron also experimented with various paralytic drugs as well as electroconvulsive therapy at thirty to forty times the normal power. His "driving" experiments consisted of putting subjects into drug-induced coma for weeks at a time (up to three months in one case) while playing tape loops of noise or simple repetitive statements. His experiments were typically carried out on patients who had entered the institute for minor problems such as anxiety disorders and postpartum depression, many of whom suffered permanently from his actions.[8] His treatments resulted in victims' incontinence, amnesia, forgetting how to talk, forgetting their parents, and thinking their interrogators were their parents.[9][10]

 

When lawsuits commenced in 1986, the Canadian government denied having any knowledge that Cameron was being sponsored by the CIA.[11]

So Navarro was charged with contempt for Congress for not answering questions about Jan 6th, guess what? He has a right to take the 5th for whatever reason he pleases, that is the law. Then again, why does anyone have to answer to corruption as an authority? We know now most elections are tainted and dirty tricks are played constantly. Second, If they are so honest and have the American people's best interest and safety at heart then why hasn't a single member bitched about the over 3k Americans that lost their lives on 911? How come building 7 was never mentioned in their report? What don't they get about 2 planes taking down 3 buildings on 911. Even the best military missiles in our arsenal cannot hit one building and take down another a 1/2 mile away. The same type of plane that took down 2 1/2 mile high skyscrapers couldn't even knock off the bricks to Pentagons front door. I say this as a person who was on 4 back in november 2017.

 

There has always been uncertainly as to who Q was, and now, after Trump became not President, what Q was saying was proven false. Maybe the "fake" Q will get it right more often.

 

Either way, we're conservatives, or liberal haters, and we point out how awful Jews are, which is censored everywhere, and we're anonymous which allows us to speak more freely. When Utah County Attorney David Leavitt decided to go to Ukraine earlier this week to collect documents from his Kyiv apartment, heโ€™d planned for several contingencies in case the city was invaded by the Russian military.

 

He had extra cash in case the internet went down and the ATMs didnโ€™t work. Heโ€™d also rented a car, deciding it safest to not rely on public transportation in case the trains stopped running.

 

But something unexpected happened that halted what was supposed to be a quick trip to Ukraine to gather a few personal items: Leavitt is stuck in Amsterdam after he tested positive for COVID-19.

 

Itโ€™s the second time Leavitt has been ill with the coronavirus.

 

Leavitt, who taught in Ukraine with the American Bar Association for more than a decade, has owned an apartment in Kyiv for several years. With news of a threat of a Russian invasion, Leavitt said in an interview on Wednesday that heโ€™d booked the hasty trip to Ukraine to get paperwork proving ownership of his apartment and to collect some personal effects.

 

โ€œWe flew from Salt Lake to Amsterdam and Amsterdam to Kiev,โ€ he said Wednesday, โ€œand spent 24 hours there and got things taken care of then visited with some close friends of ours.โ€

 

โ€ฆ โ€œSo much of what I do in the United States, as the Utah County Attorney, is directly tied to years in the Ukraine,โ€ he said. โ€œIโ€™m sad about it, because I not only love the Ukranian people, I have worked hard to help the legal system.โ€

The three leaders of the top EU economies arrived in Kiev for the first time since the Russian special military operation in Ukraine began. Scholz and Macron, the leaders of the largest economies, have been criticized for not visiting Ukraine yet.

 

Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky will discuss with the three leaders sensitive topics including Ukraineโ€™s bid to join the EU.

 

Earlier on Wednesday, Macron visited a NATO base in Romania where approximately 500 French troops are deployed. During his visit, the French President stated that โ€œwe are at a time when we, the European Union, need to send clear political signals to Ukraine and the Ukrainian people in a context where they have been resisting heroically for several months.โ€

 

Despite their different perspectives, all three countries are in support of Ukraine joining the EU. A response to the candidacy of Ukraine to the EU is expected to unravel during the European summit on 23-24 June. If successful, this will start a negotiation process to become a bona fide member state, which may take several years.

 

France's Europe minister, Clement Beaune, reportedly said Ukraine's EU membership was "15 or 20 years" away from being realized.

 

"We have to be honest. If you say Ukraine is going to join the EU in six months, or a year or two, you're lying," Beaune said, speaking to a local radio station. "It's probably in 15 or 20 years, it takes a long time."

 

French President Emmanuel Macron had earlier voiced his aspiration to create a European political community to ensure Ukraine could join the 27-nation bloc later on. However, Zelensky dismissed the move, asking to join the European Union.

 

The European Commission's chief, Ursula von der Leyen, said Sunday that once the war in Ukraine is over, the EU will support Ukraine's efforts to rebuild.

 

Von der Leyen said in an interview on CNN that Kiev belonged in Europe, and the EU will support Ukraine's bid for membership, adding that its accession to the Union might be viewed as an extraordinary case.

 

Usually, it takes a country wishing to join the EU years in order to cross obstacles preventing its accession, von der Leyen admitted. She had traveled on Friday to meet Volodymyr Zelensky a membership questionnaire in order to launch the process of Ukraine's accession.

Clarence Thomas signals interest in revisiting media libel standard

 

Justice Clarence Thomas on Monday indicated that he believes the Supreme Court should reconsider a ruling that makes it more difficult to sue media organizations, saying he disagreed with the court's decision to turn away an appeal in a defamation case.

 

Why it matters: The case in question, Coral Ridge v. SPLC, was designed to overturn the landmark New York Times v. Sullivan case, which established the precedent that a public figure must prove a defendant acted with "actual malice," or intentionality, in defaming a person.

 

In recent months, district courts have reinforced this precedent, most notably during Sarah Palin's defamation suit against the New York Times. The district judge and the jury determined that the plaintiff, Palin, failed to prove actual malice.

With its decision to overturn Roe v. Wade last week, the Supreme Court has proved that it is willing to overturn longstanding precedents.

 

What they're saying: "I would grant certiorari in this case to revisit the 'actual malice' standard," Thomas wrote in his dissent.

 

"This case is one of many showing how (NYT v. Sullivan) and its progeny have allowed media organizations and interest groups 'to cast false aspersions on public figures with near impunity,'" he added.

 

The big picture: It's the latest in a string of first amendment arguments and cases sweeping the country as it wrestled with free speech issues.

 

The Palin trial, coupled with the recent Johnny Depp and Amber Heard trial, exposed millions of Americans to the tricky legal guardrails surrounding the first interpretation of the First Amendment historically throughout years of various court cases.

Sources in narcotics law enforcement and the field of Federal criminal prosecution contend, however, the true nature of the scandal is being covered up by the George W. Bush Justice Department. Sneering at and hooting at the Bush Justice Department, they tell confidants that they call the U.S. Attorney General "John Ashcan", to signify a continuation, they say, of cover-up artist Janet "Butch" Reno.

 

Those ahead of the curve say that patriotic Americans must leave their cocoon of denial. Howsoever it has happened, the biggest business in the United States is the distribution of dope principally from Southwest China and Colombia. It exceeds any business you can mention. IBM and General Motors, by comparison, are children's' lemonade stands.

 

A full understanding of the profound and complex details would convince any reasonable person that what appears to be only the crimes of misappropriation of game prize monies are really an epidemic of corruption that reaches up to America's highest tribunal, the U.S. Supreme Court.

 

Some background.

 

 

The matter revolves, in part, around a Massachusetts-based games promotion firm, Cyrk, Inc., and through a complicated series of mergers and moves, to Simon Worldwide, Inc., and division, Simon Marketing. The founder of Cyrk, a Balkans-linked marine biology professor whose hobby was graphic design, picked a Slavic word for the name of the firm, meaning CIRCUS. Has it become a misleading if not evil three rings of criminality?

 

The business formed a partnership with Asian trading company, Li & Fung which acquired a one-third interest in the company. This deal gave Cyrk access to the trading company's manufacturing arrangements in Asia. The nature of the business had reputed links that were part of the British opium dynasty, that sought to subjugate China starting in the 19th Century.

 

 

Among the reputed links to Simon Marketing are the Hong Kong & Shanghai Bank which financed the opium trade starting more than 150 years ago. In recent years, in a taped interview, the manager of what was the bank's unit in Chicago clearly admitted the same to us.

 

 

The bank's parent, Hong Kong & Shanghai Bank Corp., HSBC, was in the process of merging in 1999, with the reputed international criminal banking center, tied to the Russian mafia and Colombia/U.S. dope cartel, Republic National Bank of New York, headed by international gold smuggling tycoon Edmond Safra.

 

 

In the midst of the merger dealings, Safra was apparently murdered in his lavish villa in the smugglers' haven of Monaco. The crime against the ailing Safra was blamed, some claim falsely, on one of Safra's male nurses. [See "Murder In the Gold Market"].

Justice Dept. announces indictment of seafood dealer in international wildlife trafficking scheme

 

A major seafood company and nearly 10 individuals were indicted by the Justice Department this week over what the government said was a major seafood trafficking ring involving threatened eels.

 

The American Eel Depot Corporation of Totowa, New Jersey and โ€œeight of its employeesโ€ were indicted on charges of โ€œsmuggling, Lacey Act violations and conspiracy to violate the Endangered Species Act,โ€ the Justice Department said in a press release.

 

The charges against the individuals stemmed โ€œfrom their trafficking in large volumes of highly imperiled eels,โ€ the DOJ claimed.

 

The Justice Department called the New Jersey company โ€œthe largest importer and wholesale distributor of eel meat in the United Statesโ€ and said that the corporation began sourcing eels illegally from Europe after similar efforts were cracked down on in the United States.

 

The defendants โ€œconspired to unlawfully smuggle large quantities of live baby European eels out of Europe, to their eel-rearing factory in China,โ€ the DOJ said. โ€œAfter rearing the baby eels to maturity, defendantsโ€™ Chinese facility would then slaughter and process the eels for shipping to the United States, to be sold as sushi products.โ€

 

In the event of conviction, the department said, โ€œeach defendant faces up to 20 years in prison and a fine of $250,000 (for individual defendants) or $500,000 (for business organizations).โ€

This means all Agencies that received the authority of congress, such as the SEC did not (remember 5th circuit said SEC was an unconstitutional agencies and could not fine as it violates the constitution), that means the administrative state created by all these agencies, could be & should be in the chopping block. We are deeply grieved at the findings of the independent investigation of the SBC Executive Committee commissioned by Guidepost Solutions, and especially at the credible allegation of abuse involving one of our former employees. We must acknowledge, with grief, that we believe the report is well-documented and verified with a high level of professionalism and due process. We are heartbroken, especially for the survivor, her husband and the others mentioned in the report. We are deeply grateful for their courage and sacrifice in speaking up.

 

We recognize that, with this reality, comes a cascade of facts we must consider, including the possibility of other victims or allegations of which we are unaware, and the need to ensure we have done everything possible to prevent abuse. To that end, we have consulted with outside experts, including Rachael Denhollander, and we are announcing today that the North American Mission Board (NAMB) Board of Trustees is immediately beginning the processes outlined below and on the newly created NAMB Abuse Prevention and Response section of our website.

 

During times like this, it is easy to be tempted to look the other way, to minimize what has taken place, or to find reasons why the situation we are facing is โ€œdifferentโ€ than other abuse crises. Grievously, as we have seen again just this week, far too often these responses are even cloaked in Scriptural sounding ideas โ€” protecting our mission, our base, our resources.

 

We want to encourage our SBC community to stand against this temptation. Our God is sovereign and powerful, and He does not need our protection โ€” He requires our obedience. Thousands of sheep drown with sunken Badr 1, an export ship, in the Red Sea port of Suakin, on Sunday. The vessel was exporting livestock from Sudan to Saudi Arabia. According to a Sudanese port official, the ship โ€œwas carrying 15,800 sheep.โ€

 

Another official said all crew members were rescued, however, this incident will have several economic and environmental consequences. In his statement, he outlined that the sunken ship will โ€œlikely have an environmental impact due to the death of the large number of animals carried by the shipโ€.

 

The livestock on the ship was valued at approximately $3.7M said Saleh Selim, the head of the associationโ€™s livestock division, as he called for an investigation into the accident. The port is already under investigation following a fire that blazed for several hours, and caused damage in the cargo area, earlier this month.

 

Furthermore, Omar Al-Khalifa, head of the national exportersโ€™ association, said that the ship did not sink quickly. In fact, the ship took several hours to sink at the pier, meaning there was a window that suggested it โ€œcould have been rescuedโ€. The animals were loaded on the vessel at the port of Suakin.

 

Al-Khalifa also added that approximately 700 sheep were rescued โ€œbut they were found very ill and we donโ€™t expect them to live longโ€.

 

Suakin, Sudan's ancient port town, is no longer the country's primary trade hub; that honor now belongs to Port Sudan, 60 kilometers away along the Red Sea coast. Prior to the ousting of former President Omar Al-Bashir, there was an agreement, signed in 2017, with Turkey for the portโ€™s rehabilitation. However, the political instability and the deposition of former Al-Bashir put that project on hold.

 

The coup that ousted the former president also marked the beginning of a financial crisis that still looms over Sudan.

This is essentially a greeting card to mark Eid al-Fitr, the end of Ramadan. It depicts a date palm and a bowl of dates โ€“ a traditional food for celebrating the end of the month-long fasting period.

 

"Obviously the target audience is the civilian population of Afghanistan, showing our friendship," explains Maj. Ric Rohm, another battalion commander. "All of our products fit into a plan."

 

At the start of a campaign, the psyop-ers decide which media will be most useful in getting across their message, "very similar to how a marketing firm would try to do their business," says Rohm. In Afghanistan, that ruled out television โ€“ the Taliban had banned it.

In his concurring opinion backing the Supreme Court's decision last week to overturn Roe v. Wade, Justice Clarence Thomas wrote that the nation's highest court should reconsider past rulings that established constitutional rights to contraception, private sexual acts, and same-sex marriage.

 

The Due Process Clause of the 14th Amendment guarantees that no state shall "deprive any person of life, liberty, or property without due process of law." In the 1973 Roe decision, the court cited this clause to argue there's a constitutional right to an abortion.

 

However, Thomas wrote, the right to abortion under that clause "is neither 'deeply rooted in this Nation's history and tradition' nor 'implicit in the concept of ordered liberty.'"

 

He then pointed to three past "demonstrably erroneous decisions" by the Supreme Court that were also based on interpretations of the Due Process Clause and should be revisited. Those cases are: Griswold v. Connecticut (1965), which said married couples have the right to obtain contraceptives; Lawrence v. Texas (2003), which said criminal punishment for sodomy is unconstitutional; and Obergefell v. Hodges (2015), which said there is a constitutional right to same-sex marriage.

 

"In future cases, we should reconsider all of this Court's substantive due process precedents, including Griswold, Lawrence, and Obergefell," wrote Thomas. "Because any substantive due process decision is 'demonstrably erroneous' โ€ฆ we have a duty to 'correct the error' established in those precedents."
