Experienced thunder snow during resent storm upon us. Crazy phenomenon, to say the least. Blackout like power surges, induced by the lightning. This morning a strange phenomenon was observed, only a trickle bit of power was available in the grid. Pumps and fans and lights dimmed to at or near off. Induction kettle normally boils water rapidly, this morning it boiled water but took several minutes longer. It was like time was trickling, watching the water.

Alex Padilla was born in California to working class, immigrant parents from Mexico. His father was a short-order cook and his mother was a housekeeper. Padilla rose through the local public school system and eventually went to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) where he graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

 

He heard his call to action with the passage of Proposition 187 in 1994 β€” which had sought to kick out undocumented immigrants from all non-emergency public services in California, including access to public schools. "The message was clear: the state of California is struggling and it's the fault of families like yours and people like your parents," Padilla said of what he was hearing from people in power at the time. He got his start in politics by working for U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein. By the time he turned 26, Padilla won a seat in the Los Angeles City Council, representing the same district he grew up in (via Cal Matters). In 2006, he was elected to the California State Senate, where he authored a California law mandating that restaurants list calorie information on their menus and menu boards. Olivia GonCalves says her sister, Kaylee GonCalves, was a fighter. While her sister's death leaves so many unanswered questions, there's one thing she can be sure of: she wants justice.

 

Kaylee had just bought a new car and had big plans for the future, including starting a new tech job in Texas. Kaylee and Madison Mogen who were both killed Sunday morning were good friends. The two were inseparable.

 

"They meet in the fifth, sixth grade, and that was it. Like there was just no going back. They always had each other, and Karen, Maddie's mom always said, 'You just need one good friend in life,' and they were each others one good friend, for better or for worse because they had their fair share of fights. Honestly, most of the time it was Kaylee's fault," Olivia GonCalves said.

 

Mogen was the bonus child to the Gonzalves family.

 

"In true fashion to themselves, they did everything together. And I know that it's unfortunate they had to experience this tragedy together. But we are taking a bit of consolation in knowing that they weren't alone. We can't imagine what they went through. But it feels a little bit easier to swallow knowing that they had each other," she said.

 

The victim's families are coming to grips with so much loss as unanswered loom. Mogen and Gonzalves went to a bar Saturday night before returning home not knowing it would be the last time.

 

"To the individual who did this, your days are numbered. It's not a matter of if, it is a matter of when and I would put everything in me on that. We have a lot of support from local authorities, from state authorities, from the FBI, as well as four families. I'm just one piece of that," GonCalves said.

 

GonCalves is asking the public to call in anything they may have heard or seen that night. You're encouraged to call the tip line at 208-883-7180.

 

"I don't know if my sisters wanted to be buried. I don't know if they wanted to be cremated. I don't know if they want white roses or red roses. That will forever haunt me. I do know that they would want justice. They would want this individual found and I can do that, " GonCalves said.

 

GonCalves says she's gone through her own avenues to try and find answers. She's spoken with people they were with Saturday night, and even the Uber driver who drove them.

 

GonCalves says she's frustrated with the limited information from police. She feels like there should have been more emphasis on help from the public in the first 48 hours.

 

Two other roommates were in the home at the time of the murders and were unharmed. GonCalves says she's tried to make contact with them too but has not heard from them.

Arizona Attorney General’s Office Fires Off Letter to Maricopa County Regarding 2022 Midterm Election Day Irregularities

 

The letter is signed by Jennifer Wright, the Assistant Attorney General from the state of Arizona.

 

In the letter Jennifer Wright explains that the Attorney General’s Elections Integrity Unit has received HUNDREDS of complaints by concerned citizens since pertaining to issues related to the administration of the 2022 General Election in Maricopa County. The complaints include first-hand accounts from witnesses raising concerns regarding Maricopa’s lawful compliance with Arizona election code.

 

The Attorney General’s office also includes how at least 60 voting locations out of 230 in the county had tabulators and printing machines that were not working on Election Day.

 

The Attorney General’s office demanded that Maricopa County provide a comprehensive list on the equipment failures on Election Day.

 

The AG’s office admits that the machines were allegedly working the night before the election but that 25-30 percent of the machines were down hours later on Election Day morning.

 

Based on the plethora of reports from election workers, poll observers, and voters, combined with Maricopa County’s admission that there were in fact widespread problems related to non-uniform BOD printer configuration settings, the Unit requests that Maricopa County provide a comprehensive report detailing with specificity:

 

(1) the voting locations that had problems with either BOD printers or tabulation;

(2) the specific problems at each voting location;

(3) any other issues related to BOD printers and/or tabulators that may have contributed to the problems at voting locations;

(4) a comprehensive log of all changes to the BOD printer configuration settings (to include the identity of individuals making changes);

(5) MaricopaCounty’s standards for the BOD printer configuration settings as specified in internal technical specifications and/or manufacturer technical specifications;

(6) the precise time the non-uniform printer configuration settings were found to be the root cause of the problem; and

(7) the method used to update or reconfigure the printer configuration settings at each voting location(specifically, if technicians were sent to the voting location, when were they deployed in the field and when did they make the changes at each voting location; alternatively, if the network administrator was able to make universal changes, please detail when and how the printer configuration settings were corrected).

 

Maricopa County must also explain election β€œcheck-out” procedures including why Maricopa County election workers publicly encouraged voters to leave a voting location.

 

Maricopa County is also being asked to explain the β€œDoor 3” procedures.

 

The request by the Attorney’s General office must be completed by Monday November 28, 2022.

 

Berlin, Germany this week announced they will redo fraudulent elections from 2021 following long lines, no ballots, and voter suppression.

 

It sounds a lot like what we just witnessed in Maricopa County.

Customs has intercepted so much cocaine that it is unable to destroy it

 

Customs agents in Belgium have seized more cocaine than they are able to dispose of in a timely manner, officials told local outlet VRT News on Saturday.It is estimated that more than 100 tons of the drug – valued at about €5 billion – will have been intercepted at the Port of Antwerp this year.This comes after a record-setting 90 tons were seized in 2021.

 

β€œThere has been something of a bottleneck as there have been so many seizures and also because just one incinerator was in use,” Federal Justice Minister Vincent Van Quickenborne told the outlet. β€œMoreover, you cannot burn these batches in bulk, in one go, in large quantities as this would cause issues with the filters at the incineration plant.” Only 1,000kg or at most 1,500kg of the drug can be destroyed in a single session, he said.

 

A representative of FPS Finance, the parent agency of Belgium's customs service, agreed. β€œThe rapid destruction of confiscated goods is an ongoing challenge,” spokesperson Francis Adyns told local outlet Gazet van Antwerpen. β€œDue to the technical limitation of the licensed incinerators and environmental standards, we have to use several incinerators.”

 

While the department managed to secure enough additional capacity to destroy β€œseveral tons” more of the illicit substance, putting a dent in what prosecutor Franky de Keyser has called β€œthe mountain of cocaine,” Van Quickenborne told VRT that his agency only learned on Thursday that this was not sufficient.

 

Additionally, one has to request an appointment to use the incinerator, the minister explained. β€œThe more cocaine you seize, the more time you need. And there is a lot of cocaine.” The location of the incinerators is reportedly kept secret so as not to tempt criminals to raid the facility.

 

Van Quickenborne said that customs officials are negotiating with Environment Minister Zuhal Demir, who oversees the incinerators, adding that the talks are β€œgoing well.” Demir’s office has reached out to the Public Waste Agency of Flanders (OVAM), which is also looking for additional incineration capacity, a spokesperson told VRT.

 

Customs discovered nearly eight tons of cocaine in a single container in the Port of Antwerp last month. The drugs, valued at over €200 million, were hidden in a shipment of bananas from Ecuador. Authorities allowed the delivery to continue to its final destination in the Netherlands, leading to the arrest of four people.

 

The port of Antwerp was the site of Belgium’s largest-ever cocaine bust in 2020, when five containers of scrap metal from Guyana were found to be concealing 11.5 tons of cocaine valued at €900 million. Police and port officials were among those arrested.
