WHO Calls Out China's Lack of Transparency Over COVID Infections

 

The World Health Organization (WHO) is leading calls for China to share more pandemic data as the world's most populous country responds to its nationwide COVID-19 outbreak by scaling back the publication of official statistics.

 

On December 29, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus defended the right of the United States and other nations to impose restrictions on travel from China. Around 10 countries, including many of China's neighbors, now require negative PCR tests from passengers departing Chinese airports.

 

"In the absence of comprehensive information from China, it is understandable that countries around the world are acting in ways that they believe may protect their populations," he tweeted.

 

The caution, which Beijing argues is unscientific, is related to a general lack of information about the true extent of China's surge in infections after its government dismantled three years of strict virus controls—lockdowns, mass testing and layers of contact tracing—in the span of a single month.

 

On January 8, China will officially downgrade COVID from a Class A to a Class B infectious disease, paving the way for an end to all quarantine measures nationwide. That's before most epidemiological models expect the country's first wave to peak, while the government has already stopped releasing accurate infection and fatality numbers.

 

Experts also question whether Beijing still has the capacity to track the spread of the virus within its borders. Individuals who return positive results on at-home rapid antigen tests aren't required to report their infection to authorities.

 

On Friday, the WHO convened virtually with Chinese health officials "to seek further information on the situation, and to offer WHO's expertise and further support," according to a statement.

A Colorado lawyer says the Justice Department is trying to conceal hundreds of “potentially responsive” documents about gifts received by first son Hunter Biden and his uncle James Biden from contacts in China, Russia and Ukraine, according to a new report Monday. ​

 

Kevin Evans sued the Justice Department in March after he said the agency failed to comply with his Freedom of Information Act request for records about the overseas business relationships of Joe Biden’s son and brother, the Daily Mail reported.

 

Evans said he sought documents “pertaining to any relationship, communication, gift(s), and/or remuneration in any form​” from China, Russia or Ukraine.​

 

He said lawyers for the federal government admitted in court to having at least 400 pages of “potentially responsive” documents but are now saying they can “neither confirm nor

 

“They eventually produced about 60 pages of documents, but they’re all letters from senators and congressmen asking about Hunter, and letters from DOJ back,” Evans told the Daily Mail.

 

“Then towards the end of last year they said, ‘Well we have these 400 pages of potentially responsive documents, we need to review them,'” Evans said the lawyers told him, a claim he said the government repeated again in court.

 

After a few months, Evans said the government came back with the “neither confirm nor deny” response.

 

Evans said he initially filed an FOIA request in November 2020 after reading about Hunter Biden’s foreign business dealings in China and Ukraine, connections The Post broke wide open that October. ​

 

The Post’s expose on the first son’s business relationships was based on emails and messages found on a laptop Hunter Biden abandoned at a computer repair shop in Wilmington, Del., in April 2019. ​

 

Evans said he believes the government will do what it takes to keep the information under wraps.

 

“I’m quite confident that they will move for summary judgment on the privacy exemptions under FOIA in an effort to avoid having to produce these documents,” he told the publication.

 

“But I don’t think they should in this instance, particularly when they’ve disclosed and put on the record that potentially responsive documents exist.”

 

Evans said the next status hearing in the case is scheduled for Jan. 9.

 

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) has said James Biden is a focus of investigators examining Hunter Biden’s business deals.

 

Grassley and Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) released a report in September 2020 on the Bidens’ business pursuits.

 

In April, the two senators released new documents delving deeper into the Biden family’s business ties.

 

The documents revealed that Hunter Biden and Jim Biden received monthly payments of $100,000 and $65,000, respectively, as part of an August 2017 consulting agreement between the first son and Gongwen Dong, a top official at CEFC China Energy.

I don’t know if Hamlin was vaxxed, but Cole Beasley almost retired from the NFL because of mandates. One thing that stood out to me is how he looked out for young players that didn’t have a voice. Young players were afraid if they didn’t get the vax, it could be career ending.

The number of ‘clandestine’ boat migrants crossing the English Channel is up more than 60 per cent in a year, the government reveals, with levels having reached yet another new record high.

 

A record 45,756 migrants crossed the English Channel on 1,104 small boats in 2022, smashing the previous year’s figure, and dramatically underlining the prolonged failure of the government to get a grip on so-called clandestine border crossings which have now been an ongoing ‘major incident’ for over four years.

 

The number is an increase of 60.3 per cent over the 28,526 migrants who crossed the English Channel by boat in 2021, itself already a record. As UK broadcaster Sky News notes of the migrant boat trend, while the number of ‘irregular migrants’ that came by boat this past year is considerably higher, the number of boat crossings is nearly identical, with 1,034 boats detected in the English Channel in 2021, demonstrating how ruthless people smugglers are cramming more people onto each potentially deadly crossing.

 

Although boat crossings to reach the United Kingdom by irregular migrants — what were once called illegal migrants, although this terminology appears to be falling out of favour — are a relatively new phenomenon, attempts to break into the country by foreigners are, of course, not. In recent memory, illegals tended to enter the United Kingdom by stowing away on cross-channel ferry traffic, typically inside freight-carrying trucks, itself a deadly venture.

 

But changes to that border in the wake of the Coronavirus Pandemic, and possibly Brexit as well, has made stowing away in that way more difficult. Yet the government has proven unwilling or unable to secure the nation’s coast from being forced by criminal gangs taking large fees in return for places on inflatable boats, and so the demand for clandestine border crossings switched to the sea, a technique honed in the Mediterranean sea during the 2015 Europe Migrant Crisis.

 

Despite boat migrants being declared a “major incident” way back in 2018, a year in which just 299 made the crossing, the British government has not yet made any serious progress on defending the nation’s borders and putting a stop to the deadly trade in human beings. Arrests of people smugglers are relatively infrequent, and functionally speaking migrants who come this way are almost never deported, rubbishing the idea there is any meaningful disincentive for trying.

 

The Conservative Party continues to talk tough on immigration, promoting an endless series of headline-catching but doomed plans that they claim will get the nation’s borders under control. Yet the party has been in power for over 12 years and despite nearly 14 years of elections and national votes in which the British people have voted for parties and causes speaking the language of border control, migration is now higher than ever.

“We believe that the entry restrictions adopted by some countries targeting China lack scientific basis, and some excessive practices are even more unacceptable,” Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said at a daily briefing Tuesday.

 

“We are firmly opposed to attempts to manipulate the COVID measures for political purposes and will take countermeasures based on the principle of reciprocity,” she said.

 

Australia and Canada this week joined a growing list of countries requiring travelers from China to take a COVID-19 test prior to boarding their flight, as China battles a nationwide outbreak of the coronavirus after abruptly easing restrictions that were in place for much of the pandemic.

 

Other countries including the U.S., U.K., India, Japan and several European nations have announced tougher COVID-19 measures on Chinese travelers amid concerns over a lack of data on infections in China and fears of the possibility that new variants may spread.

 

China, which for most of the pandemic adopted a “zero-COVID” strategy that imposed harsh restrictions aimed at stamping out the virus, abruptly eased those measures in December.

 

Chinese authorities previously said that from Jan. 8, overseas travelers would no longer need to quarantine upon arriving in China, paving the way for Chinese residents to travel.

The Buffalo Bills’ efforts to educate their players on the benefits of receiving a Covid-19 vaccine have been “non-stop,” coach Sean McDermott said Thursday.

 

"There's not much room in our day left to do anything else other than educate on that and football," he said. "I can tell you've we've done our part in educating.”

 

To this point, however, those efforts have failed at a rate that is among the highest in the NFL.

 

The Washington Post reported Tuesday that 92.7% of all NFL players have at least started the vaccination process, and all but four teams have a vaccination rate of at least 89%. Based on General Manager Brandon Beane’s admission Tuesday that the Bills are hovering around an 80% vaccination rate, we know his team is among those four. It’s entirely possible the Bills have the lowest vaccination rate in the NFL

, and that could drop even more once the 53-man roster is set next week.

 

This is about when a certain segment of Bills Mafia starts to scream “stick to football!” Here’s the thing, though – this is about football.

 

The Bills got a taste this week of what can happen when that many players are unvaccinated. Wide receivers Cole Beasley and Gabriel Davis are away from the team – missing the last three practices –because they are unvaccinated and came into close contact with a team trainer who, despite being fully vaccinated, tested positive for Covid-19. So, too, are defensive tackles Star Lotulelei and Vernon Butler Jr. for the same reason.

 

Covid-19 and its impact on the team is a story that isn’t going away, no matter how much all parties involved – players, coaches, fans and media – long for that to be the case. The latest development came Thursday when wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie shared on Twitter a picture of a letter from the NFL notifying him of a $14,650 fine for failing to wear a mask.

 

According to the letter, McKenzie's violations came at 2:15 p.m. Wednesday when he walked through the team's indoor fieldhouse into the training room and again at 4:35 p.m. when he did not have a mask on in the meeting area of the weight room while gathered near other players.

 

"Your refusal to wear a mask occurred after you were informed that it was required for unvaccinated players as set forth in your 2021 club discipline schedule and as reiterated by signage throughout the club facility stating that unvaccinated players may be subject to fines/discipline for failing to wear a mask," the letter read.

 

McKenzie was previously warned by the NFL about not wearing a mask in a letter dated July 27.

 

"For players who are not fully vaccinated against Covid-19, like you, your conduct is expressly prohibited by the protocols," the letter reads. "Again, your conduct potentially compromised not only your safety, but also the safety of others, as well as the league's ability to ensure that your club's training camp is conducted in a safe manner."

 

McKenzie's letter notes the violation occurred after a league staff member gave a presentation to the Bills regarding the Covid protocols agreed to by the league and the NFL Players Association.

 

Yes, you read that right. McKenzie broke Covid protocols in front of a league staffer … right after gave a presentation specifically designed to inform players of those protocols – and the penalties involved for breaking them.

 

Sadly, that’s not the only “SMH” moment to come from Thursday. Perhaps not surprisingly, Beasley shared that he, too, had been fined by the league for a masking violation. Imagine that!

Beasley, who said at the start of training camp he would be giving up posting to social media, went back on his word in a big way Thursday. His latest Twitter tirade included admitting that he was not wearing a mask for about “five steps” – as if that matters – when he entered the facility Tuesday.

 

He continued with his usual takes – that’s he’s not pro- or anti-vaccine, but rather favors individual choice – and also reiterated his line of complaints about the rules put in place for unvaccinated players – rules that were agreed to by the union of which he is a member.

 

McKenzie and Beasley would be subject to increased discipline from the NFL for further violations, which could include a maximum fine of one-week's salary and a four-game unpaid suspension. The league has fined 25 players for refusing to wear a mask or tracking device since the start of training camp, the NFL Network reported.

 

“It's unfortunate when players get fined,” McDermott said. “That being said, these rules have been agreed upon and in place and well communicated for some time. So, it's important for us that we focus on A. being safe and healthy. That's No. 1 and that's always been No. 1. Then No. 2 is doing our best to stay focused on the goal and purpose of why we're here, which is to win football games.”

 

Beasleyhelps the Bills do that – when he’s on the field. The receiver was asked if he intended to retire, as he had threatened in the spring.

 

"I'm gonna exhaust all options before retiring and try to change as much as I can for the other unvaccinated players,"he wrote in response. "They are not protected at all. They have to protect themselves from the vaccinated players and staff. Which is almost impossible since they’re tested 1/14 days."

 

That line of thinking – if you want to call it that – shows the challenge McDermott faces. As the coach addressed the issue before Thursday’s practice inside Highmark Stadium, it was hard not to go back to what Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said this week.

 

“Everyone has a right to make their own decisions regarding their health and their body. I believe in that completely – until your decisions as to yourself impacts negatively many others,” Jones said in an interview with Dallas radio station 105.3 The Fan. “Then the common good takes over. And I’m arm-waving here, but that has everything to do with the way I look at our team, the Cowboys, or the way I look at our society. We have got to check ‘I’ at the door and go forward with ‘we.’ ”

 

There are a good number of ‘I’ players on the Bills’ roster right now. Beasley is the most notable, but he’s not the only one. Davis, Lotulelei and Butler are three more. So, too, are linebackers Matt Milano and A.J. Klein, who were sent home Tuesday as a precaution before ultimately being deemed not to have had close contact with the trainer and thus being allowed to return to practice the following day. Given that vaccinated players are not required to quarantine provided they test negative for Covid, it’s clear Milano and Klein are not, or they wouldn’t have been sent home.

 

“Our performance is judged off of wins and losses or how well a person does 'X' or 'Y' and some of that is dependent upon other members of the team,” McDermott said. “That's why this is a team game. Being able to count on people is important, so when you're going through a week if this were a real week and having the players out that we've had, that makes it harder to win games that way. That's the competitive piece of this.”

 

At what point, McDermott was asked Thursday, does this stop being about “individual freedom” or “personal choice” or any other explanations offered by non-vaccinated players, and start being about the good of the team – from a competitive standpoint as well as a health-and-safety standpoint (to say nothing of the greater good to society)?

“Listen, there's plenty of evidence in my opinion on why you should get vaccinated,” the coach said. “That's what I did. That's my own personal beliefs. Everyone has their own beliefs, and I respect those. But my opinion, my beliefs, there's plenty of evidence to get vaccinated.”

 

It’s not as if the roster lacks personal experience. Tight end Tommy Sweeney missed all of the 2020 season afterdeveloping a heart condition, myocarditis, after a positive Covid-19 test. More recently, franchise left tackle Dion Dawkins was hospitalized four days at the start of training camp while battling the virus. His condition was so bad at one point, Dawkins said he became worried he would never leave the hospital.

 

If that’s not enough to convince players to get vaccinated, nothing seems like it will be. That includes the FDA giving full approval to the Pfizer vaccine. McDermott said although he’s heard some “encouraging conversations” regarding his unvaccinated players potentially getting vaccinated, he does not believe that the numbers have ultimately gone up.

 

“It is tough. It’s frustrating. It’s challenging – however you want to say it,” McDermott said. “I can’t make the decision for them.”

 

Yes, it’s “only” the preseason, but with the way the Delta variant is spreading, it’s not hard to imagine this situation coming up again when the games start to count. The Bills, as currently constructed, are at a competitive disadvantage. If Beasley, Davis and McKenzie come into contact with another Covid-positive person in the week leading up to the season opener against the Steelers, that’s three of the team’s projected top five receivers who will have to go through the NFL’s five-day, re-entry process – even if they test negative for Covid.

 

“Some people are in a better position potentially than we are at this point, just looking on the surface at the numbers,” McDermott conceded. “That being said, you got to go back to the personal decisions on this thing. And I respect our players' positions. In my personal opinion, it's right to get vaccinated.”

 

The effort to convince his players of that has been“absolutely non-stop,” McDermott said.

 

One thing the Bills won’t do, McDermott said Thursday, is factor in vaccination status when determining who makes the final roster.

Despite the resolution of the US Virgin Islands' direct case against the assets held by the Epstein estate, questions still linger about its operations in George’s jurisdiction. One of the most mysterious and perhaps most vital to examine of those shell companies, Southern Country International, was the first internationally operating bank to be opened in the US Virgin Islands by Epstein in 2014. The bank opened when John Percy de Jongh Jr. served as the governor of the territory. During his term, de Jongh appointed present-governor Albert A. Bryan Jr. into his administration as Commissioner of the US Virgin Islands Department of Labor. Despite not having much activity on its books, Southern Country International would renew its license with the US Virgin Islands five times before Epstein’s purported demise.

By the time Epstein died, his Virgin Islands based bank had less than $700,000 in assets. However, in December of 2019, months after his purported suicide, Epstein’s estate transferred a whopping $15.5 million into Southern Country International. In under a month, the bank’s assets diminished to less than $500,000. Mark Epstein, Jeffrey's brother and executor of his estate, stated that the bank was used to pay existing debts of the assets he had control over. Though the bank was not explicitly referenced in the press release on the December settlement, that announcement does detail the Virgin Islands action against Southern Trust Company, a holding company which points to a larger scale of Epstein owned enterprises connected to Southern Country International. It is unclear how the allegations made in George's lawsuit against JPMorgan Chase connect to the posthumous activity conducted by Epstein's Virgin Islands banking operation.

 

Following her dismissal, Assistant Attorney General Carol Thomas-Jacobs has been named to an interim position to fill George’s vacated seat. She will inherit the office as it joins an on-going list of plaintiffs who have taken action against large scale banks relating to their accounts with Epstein. Just over a month before George's filing, multiple class action suits were filed against JPMorgan Chase and Deutsche Bank alleging each institution knowingly profited from Epstein’s criminal activity. Those suits coincided with another filed against Epstein associate Leon Black, the billionaire who previously served as CEO of Apollo Global Management before his relationship with the pedophile thrust him into the spotlight.

Bills’ Dion Dawkins recalls scary COVID-19 bout: ‘I don’t know if I’m going to make this’

Dion Dawkins is back on the football field not long after he was uncertain if he was going tolive or die.

 

The always-animated Buffalo Bills left tackle revealed earlier this week thathe contracted COVID-19 in July after receiving his two vaccination doses but before the two-week period after the second shot to be considered fully vaccinated.

 

“I didn’t know that my mind could get to the low that it could get to,” Dawkins told reporters. “I was extremely emotional. I didn’t even think that I was that emotional. I don’t want to scare anybody but there were moments that I was like, ‘I don’t know if I’m going to make this.’ I was down bad, where I could barely move and I was hurting.”

 

The symptomatic Dawkins spent four days in the hospital and lost 15 pounds.

 

“If there’s a checklist for it, it was everything,” Dawkins said. “It was shortness of breath, it was the hot and cold, it was the cough, it was the dehydration.”

 

More than 90 percent of players across the league have received at least one shot. But the Bills are the NFL’s most polarizing team when it comes to vaccination status.

Buffalo Bills become fourth NFL team with vaccine mandate for fans

 

Fresh off a home loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers to open the 2021 NFL season, the Buffalo Bills head to South Beach to take on the Miami Dolphins next week.

 

Once they return home for Week 3 against the Washington Football Team, fans planning on attending games at Highmark Stadium in Western New York will be required to provide proof of a COVID-19 vaccine.

 

In heeding the new Erie County Department of Health’s directive, fans 12 and older will have to provide proof that they have received at least one shot of the vaccine up until October 31. After that, only fully-vaccinated (two doses) fans 12 and older will be allowed in the stadium. The Buffalo Bills did announce that those under the age of 12 don’t have to be vaccinated, but will be required to wear masks. All vaccinated individuals won’t have to mask up.

In one of its final acts, the House January 6 Committee warned the White House it cannot ensure the confidentiality of certain witnesses.

Chairman Bennie Thompson (D-MS) and Vice Chairwoman Liz Cheney (R-WY) wrote to Richard Sauber, special counsel to President Joe Biden, saying they “fully share” a “concern for the safety, security, and reputations” of its witnesses as the panel dissolves and Republicans take control of the House this week.

Their letter, dated Dec. 30, says the committee entered into an agreement with Sauber’s office to make available “personnel” who then provided “important information” to the panel. Any other identifying information is redacted in the public version of the letter.

Under their agreement the committee “would do its utmost” to protect identities, but as of the first week of January 2023 the panel “will no longer exercise control of this material, and thus cannot ensure enforcement of the commitment to maintain the confidentiality of the identity of witnesses,” the letter adds.

After a year and a half of investigating efforts to challenge the 2020 results and the Capitol riot, the January 6 Committee last month released its final report, recommended charges against former President Donald Trump, and released dozens of witness materials. The panel posted the “vast majority” of its witness transcripts online, per Thompson and Cheney.

On Tuesday, the members of the House will gather to vote on the next speaker. House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) is well positioned to win, but has struggled to lock in all the votes guaranteeing a simple majority.

While working to woo GOP holdouts, McCarthy unveiled a rules package for the incoming Congress that will require the “quick transfer of records” from the January 6th Committee to the House Administration Committee. McCarthy is one of several House Republicans the January 6 Committee recommended for ethics sanctions after defying its subpoenas.

In their letter to the White House, Thompson and Cheney say official records of the committee will be archived and come under the control of the National Archives in accordance with House rules. The letter adds transcripts are being provided for “appropriate review, timely return, and designation of instructions for proper handling by the National Archives.”

“During your review, we recommend that [redacted] provide for the official file that will reside with the Archives any necessary written guidance regarding the need for limitations on release or other sensitivities,” the letter says. “Our expectation is that the transcripts with such instructions will become part of the historical record of our investigation maintained by the National Archives.”

The January 6 Committee sent a similar letter to the general counsel of the Homeland Security Department regarding the Secret Service and its agents. The public version of that letter has no redactions.

All fans ages 5 and older now must show proof of Covid vaccination to attend Buffalo Bills games, the team announced Wednesday.

 

“In accordance with the New York State Mandate, the Buffalo Bills and Highmark Stadium are updating its vaccination policy. Beginning immediately, all guests 5-11 will be required to present proof of at least the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine for entry into all events, concerts, and Bills games,” the Bills said in a statement.

 

The Bills previously required proof of vaccination for fans 12 and older, but are now expanding it as children ages 5-11 have been eligible for Pfizer’s low-dose vaccination since last month. Children under 5 can attend but must wear masks.

 

A negative Covid-19 test will not be accepted to gain entrance to the stadium; only vaccinated fans will be allowed. Proof of vaccination can be provided with a physical vaccination card (photos will not be accepted), NYS Excelsior Pass, Clear Digital Vaccine Card, or government digital vaccine proof from outside NYS.

 

No refunds will be offered for tickets purchased by unvaccinated fans. Ticketholders who are unable or refuse to show proof of vaccination can transfer, resell or donate their tickets.

 

The Buffalo News reports the nearby Keybank Center is also requiring fans ages 5 and older to show proof of at least one Covid-19 vaccine dose to attend concerts and sporting events, including Buffalo Sabres and Bandits games. The new policy is effective immediately.

US Virgin Islands Attorney General Denise George was fired after suing JPMorgan Chase for allegedly "turning a blind eye" to Jeffrey Epstein's sex crimes as he owned a private island in the territory where he abused underage girls.

RadarOnline.com can confirm that George accused JPMorgan of "knowingly providing and pulling the levers through which [Epstein's] recruiters and victims were paid."

"Human trafficking was the principal business of the accounts Epstein maintained at JPMorgan," she stated in the complaint, which alleged the financial giant concealed "wire and cash transactions that raised suspicion of a criminal enterprise whose currency was the sexual servitude" of girls and women in the Virgin Islands.

 

George said the filing on December 27 was the latest "ongoing effort" to bring accountability to those who helped facilitate Epstein's crimes.

 

The explosive 30-page lawsuit is seeking unspecified damages.

 

RadarOnline.com previously learned the estate of Epstein had agreed to pay roughly $105 million to the U.S. Virgin Islands. The amount was to settle claims that the disgraced financier used the territory for his sex trafficking operation.

 

"This settlement restores the faith of the People of the Virgin Islands that its laws will be enforced, without fear or favor, against those who break them," the then-Virgin Islands Attorney General shared in a news release. "We are sending a clear message that the Virgin Islands will not serve as a haven for human trafficking."

 

Reports have since surfaced claiming that USVI Governor Albert Bryan Jr. was upset that George did not notify him about the December 27 suit which also claimed JPMorgan "financially benefited from this participation."

Oscar-nominated actor and Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch has come under a magnifying glass himself—by the Barbados government.

The 12 Years a Slave actor and his family may be facing a financial squeeze from Barbados in the coming months, as government officials are beginning to seek reparations from former plantation-owning families. After officially becoming a republic in 2021—breaking 396 years of the British monarchy’s control over the island—Barbados government officials have begun to seek reparations from the descendants of onetime slave-owning families and plantation holders.

Cumberbatch’s seventh great-grandfather bought the country’s Cleland plantation on the north side of the island in 1728, and held ownership of it until slavery was abolished in Barbados in 1834. The Cleland plantation is said to have been home to 250 enslaved people and been the source of the Cumberbatch family’s small fortune.

Last month, the Barbados government announced its plans to pursue reparations from conservative member of the British Parliament Richard Drax, who inherited the island’s largest plantation, Drax Hall. The sugar plantation on the south side of the island is the only plantation that remains within the family of its original owners. Barbados officials have been putting the heat on Drax to hand the land back to the government. If Drax refuses, Barbados will push for compensation from an international arbitration court.

If Barbados wins out in court, it will set a precedent allowing its government to seek reparations from other wealthy descendants of enslavers, like Cumberbatch. The Telegraph reported this week that general secretary of the Caribbean Movement for Peace and Integration, David Denny, told the paper, “Any descendants of white plantation owners who have benefitted from the slave trade should be asked to pay reparations, including the Cumberbatch family.” Though the Cumberbatch family no longer owns Cleland plantation, the sum they were paid when slavery was abolished is said to be worth around $1 million in British pounds.

“The money should be used to turn the local clinic into a hospital, support local schools, and improve infrastructure and housing,” Denny said of the potential uses for the Drax family’s reparations.

Cumberbatch has faced familial controversy before, once revealing that his mother advised him not to use his real name for fear of reparation claims. The actor has suggested in the past that he took his role as a plantation owner in 12 Years a Slave in part to atone for his family’s past.

Barbados’ deputy chairman of the island’s national commission on reparations, David Comissiong, insisted that the call for reparations would continue for some time. When asked whether or not the Barbados government had any definite plans to pursue legal action against the Cumberbatch family, Comissiong told The Telegraph, “This is at its earliest stages. We are just beginning. A lot of the history is only really now coming to light.”

North Korea 'Firmly' Supporting Ukraine War, Russia Diplomat Says

 

Asenior Russian diplomat has lauded North Korea for "firmly" supporting Moscow's ongoing invasion of Ukraine, which has found few fully committed supporters in the international community.

 

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko told the state-run Tass news agency that Pyongyang's support for Kremlin's attack on its neighbor will help further cooperation between the two nations.

 

"North Korea was among the countries that firmly supported, including on the [United Nations] platform, the decision by the Russian Federation to carry out a special military operation in Ukraine," Rudenko said.

 

He added that North Korea was one of few nations to back Moscow's claimed annexation of four partially occupied Ukrainian territories—in Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, and Luhansk—in September.

 

"We appreciate this support and, undoubtedly, take it into account in promoting the course towards comprehensively developing traditional relations of friendship and cooperation that was laid down at a meeting of the Russian and North Korean leaders in Vladivostok in April 2019," Rudenko said, referring to the first face-to-face meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in the Pacific port city.

 

Moscow-Pyongyang alignment on a range of issues and growing diplomatic ties, Rudenko added, "create good pre-requisites for that."

 

North Korea is offering diplomatic, and reportedly military, support for Russia's invasion, while nations including China and India have tried to straddle the growing divide between Moscow and its Western rivals.

 

The invasion is now in its eleventh month with no sign that Russia plans to backtrack despite successive battlefield defeats and increasingly grim economic conditions.

 

In March, North Korea was one of only five nations—alongside Belarus, Eritrea, Syria, and Russia—to vote against a UN General Assembly resolution condemning Moscow's invasion, which then looked poised to seize Kyiv.

 

In April, North Korea was one of 24 nations voting against a proposal for Russia to be suspended from the UN Human Rights Council.

 

And in October, North Korea stood with Russia against a UN General Assembly resolution—passed with an overwhelming 143-nation majority—calling on member-states not to recognize Moscow's claimed annexations. Belarus, Nicaragua, Syria, and Russia also voted against the motion.

 

North Korea had already officially recognized the independence of Moscow's puppet republics—Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics—in eastern Ukraine, the supposed protection of which was among Putin's justifications for his invasion. Following this recognition, Ukraine severed diplomatic ties with Pyongyang.

 

Russian diplomats, meanwhile, have been backing their North Korean counterparts at the UN as Pyongyang adopts an unprecedented rate of ballistic missile tests that have irked the U.S. and its regional allies South Korea and Japan.

 

U.S. Ambassador to the UN, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, said in November that Moscow is offering "blanket protection" for North Korea from UN Security Council action over the launches.

 

"You don't get to abandon Security Council responsibilities because the [Democratic People's Republic of Korea] might sell you weapons to fuel your war of aggression in Ukraine, or because you think they make a good regional buffer to the United States," Thomas-Greenfield said.

 

U.S. officials have accused North Korea of sending weapons to Russia for use in Ukraine as Moscow looks abroad for suppliers to restock its depleted arsenal. National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby last month accused Pyongyang of sending weapons to Wagner Group mercenaries.

 

North Korea's foreign ministry dismissed the allegations of sending military supplies to Russia as "the most absurd red herring."

What's worse is that we do not know if this is local to Covid or even just coronaviruses. It might not be. We may now have created a couple hundred million people in the US alone who have coded their immune systems to tolerate certain proteins that are common across all manner of respiratory viruses and worse, if its not local to viruses to be more-susceptible to cancer and other immune-sensitive problems with no way to reverse the effects!

 

If you recall I pointed out very early on in this thing that jabbing people with a non-sterilizing immune product, which these jabs all are, was wildly irresponsible because at minimum it would likely cause a decrease in symptoms and thus make it more likely rather than less that you'd go out and infect other people unknowingly. That was and remains correct however what nobody knew because we didn't look is that said non-sterilizing jabs had an even worse outcome in that they shift your immune response from elimination to tolerance so now, particularly after the third, you are likely to carry and not eliminate covid which makes you a literal Typhoid Mary, and if that's not enough we have no idea if this effect is local to Covid itself (which, in the world of Omicron isn't so awful as Omicron doesn't seem to be killing many people) but it may extend to influenza and even RSV, and is even more-likely to extend to the other two common beta coronaviruses OC43 and HKU1.

 

And finally, this may be permanent in those people who took the jabs. We don't know.

Importance: The major North American professional sports leagues were among the first to return to full-scale sport activity during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. Given the unknown incidence of adverse cardiac sequelae after COVID-19 infection in athletes, these leagues implemented a conservative return-to-play (RTP) cardiac testing program aligned with American College of Cardiology recommendations for all athletes testing positive for COVID-19.

 

Objective: To assess the prevalence of detectable inflammatory heart disease in professional athletes with prior COVID-19 infection, using current RTP screening recommendations.

 

Design, setting, and participants: This cross-sectional study reviewed RTP cardiac testing performed between May and October 2020 on professional athletes who had tested positive for COVID-19. The professional sports leagues (Major League Soccer, Major League Baseball, National Hockey League, National Football League, and the men's and women's National Basketball Association) implemented mandatory cardiac screening requirements for all players who had tested positive for COVID-19 prior to resumption of team-organized sports activities. A hospital spokesperson canceled a news conference, originally scheduled for around 11 p.m. Monday, according to multiple reports. Hamlin’s agent, Ira Turner of Agency 1 Sports, released a statement asking to “please continue to pray for Damar and his family.”

Hamlin and his mother, who was watching from the stands, were taken two miles away to the University of Cincinnati Level I trauma center in what was treated as a life-or-death emergency. The ambulance left Paycor Stadium about 30 minutes after the emergency began when Hamlin made a first-quarter tackle on Bengals receiver Tee Higgins but appeared to take the brunt of the hit.

Hamlin hopped to his feet and adjusted his facemask but almost immediately fell onto his back.

“Something we haven’t seen in our time,” NFL executive vice president Troy Vincent, a former 15-year player, said in a midnight conference call. He said many on site were “traumatized.”

The crowd and the television audience held their collective breath waiting for the universal sign to exhale — a thumbs-up from an NFL player loaded onto a stretcher, even used in cases of paralysis to show that the player can communicate. It never happened.

The biggest problem a longtime football player has with this theory is that Damar Hamlin did not "GET HIT". He "HIT" the guy with the ball when he was TACKLING him. It wasn't an impact from a projectile. It was a normal tackle that Hamlin initiated.
