As the surreal scene played out live on television in front of St. John's Episcopal Church, the most influential Catholic in the Trump administration, Attorney General William Barr, stood close by.

 

The proximity was fitting. There have been few more stalwart loyalists to the president — who has cycled through cabinet officials and routinely publicly berates his staff — than Barr, a nearly four-decade veteran of Republican administrations, and a conservative Catholic who vigorously promotes a muscular Christianity that relishes in fighting the culture wars.

 

Barr helped pave the way for last week's federal executions — the first in 17 years. Yet he is often viewed as an ally of the pro-life movement because of his opposition to abortion. His enthusiastic admirers also cheer what they regard as his commitment to religious freedom at a time when many social conservatives view the rights of churches and religious institutions as under threat by secular forces.

 

Barr's critics counter that a Catholic at the highest level of government uses his influence to endorse a selective, ideologically driven understanding of religious liberty, and champions a nearly limitless view of executive power that is particularly dangerous, given Trump's disregard for bedrock democratic norms.

There have been rumors floating out there for at least a few days that there will be more than 30 charges in the alleged Trump indictment. Now there’s a more formal report out, claiming that there will be 34 charges, and that they’re all felonies.

Donald Trump will be placed under arrest on Tuesday and informed that he has been charged with 34 felony counts for falsification of business records, according to a source who has been briefed on the procedures for the arraignment of the former president.

A New York City Police arrest report summarizing the charges against Trump will then be prepared and entered into the court system before he is led into a courtroom to be formally arraigned on the charges, none of which are misdemeanors.

They’re also saying there won’t be any handcuffs or a mugshot. This confirms what I wrote the other day, that CNN was flipping out that such things could make Trump stronger and they’re beginning to think this is backfiring on them.

But I want to re-up my comments from Saturday when I said this “charge stacking” is likely what would happen. Prosecutors can try to charge as many things as they can, even if those charges only pertain to one incident. So let’s assume for the moment in this alleged “falsification of business records” charge, that Trump had to file a form that had signatures or initials on the same form multiple times. Each signature/initial could be counted as a potential charge, even if it’s all on the same form and just one incident. So if you had a 34-page form with signatures or initials on each page, you could potentially make 34 charges out of it. We’ll know when we see the real indictment to see precisely what they are talking about. It’s also a bit of flooding of the jury, all they would have to agree to is one to convict. This increases that possibility.

But I think this is mostly about making Trump look bad to the public and the potential jury pool. It’s about having people go “34 charges!!!” and say how awful Trump is, when it all may apply just to the one matter. It’s trying to make the turkey of a case look like it’s something more than it is by buffaloing people with the number. I think it’s more evidence of the bias in this matter, as this shows Bragg trying to throw everything and anything against the wall to try to make something stick when what he truly has is a legally pathetic case.

Then the report says that they’re Class E felonies. That’s the lowest felony. As we noted, he’s already may be bootstrapping this matter by taking what would be a misdemeanor ordinarily and trying to make it a felony. But that raises questions about how he’s charging that, if it’s truly a federal crime (and thus not properly charged here in New York), and if there are statute of limitations issues that he’s trying to get around in this endeavor. As I wrote, Trump’s attorney has already said he’s going to move to have the case dismissed. Those issues and others may factor into any such motion, depending on what the indictment shows on Tuesday.

If this is all predicated on one incident/action, the charges would probably run concurrently, even if he was convicted, which would mean they would be served at the same time. So if you got a year as a sentence for each charge, you would only serve one year in total if they ran concurrently. And as a first offender on for a Class E felony, he could theoretically face one and a half to four years, but generally, you would not get that, as the Yahoo report notes. “No one gets jail time for that as a first offender,” said a New York law enforcement official.

OTC Derivative positions Q4 2022-Goldman Sachs takes the 'top' spot from JP Moran

 

This report came out a few days later than normal-they got it out the door on 0331 when it usually is a few days before the end of the Qtr. This is a lagging report as it covers the close of Q4 2022 so we will get Q1 2023 at the close of the 2nd Q for 2023, and closed December 31st.

 

The biggest change (and never seen it before) is that JP Moran is now in position #2 and does not have the biggest amount of derivatives..that title goes to Golman Sachs now (who has always had the smallest amount of assets backing the biggest amount of derivatives). That is now at $486.967B "backing" $52.637T in value and the change is largely because of two factors-JP Moran shedding $4.825T in total derivatives while Goldman Sachs added $1.671T from Q3 to Q4 '23. Also of note is that the total amount of 'assets' Goldman Sachs has backing this shit pile decreased by $26.938B in the same time period

Cap#2 is current report and Cap #3 in from Q3 '23 so you can see the changes. Goldman Sachs actually had a little moar than this in derivative exposure during the 2008 market event but since they did hold a banking license they did not have to report that to this reporting structure..since then they have a commercial bank called Marcus (big time fail dhere). It doesn't really matter as they just take this information and publish it-in no way, shape or form does the regulator actually do anything wit this.

 

The other notable thing is that the silver derivatives keep decreasing and you can see that in Cap #4-even though they obfuscate those (they placed Gold back to the 'Precious Metals" bucket when it was located in the FOREX area-in January 2022 see yellow highlight on Cap#4 and they did that on purpose so that you can't really see what is going on with that swap arrangement between Bank of America and JP Moran for Physical Silver-those are all short term leases (the orange in Cap#4) that began expiring last year (and that deal between BofA and JP Moran was done all throughout 2021 as it was placed on immediately after JP Moran got the DOJ fine for manipulating the Metals market in 2020-fined for $920m but then booked about the same amount in other commodity trading-this is how it's done…you 'lose' on one side but 'gain' on another and they ALL do this.) You can see the steady decrease in that all year and it's not becasue they are doing less gold manipulation…this is the silver short term leases expiring and since that change was made you can't quantify exactly how much it really is but it is going down.

 

Cap#5 shows that the top 4 hold the bulk of all derivative contracts and after #5 (Wells Fartgo) it drops off substantially

Saudi Arabia’s Crown PrinceMohammed Bin Salman (MbS)is no longer worried about pleasing the United States as his relationships with other global superpowers including China and Russia have strengthened.

 

America’s adversaries continue to team up against the United States as President Joe Biden turns a blind eye to the growing macro-economic crisis.

 

On Sunday, Saudi Arabia and other oil rich nations announced that they would be cutting oil production.

 

“The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), a consortium of the world’s largest oil-producing nations, made the announcement Sunday in a preemptive measure against what it perceived as a future slowdown in demand,” Trending Politics reported on Sunday. “U.S. oil prices surged to nearly $80 a barrel, the largest increase in almost a year.”

 

According to a new report from The Wall Street Journal, the crown prince is no longer worried about pleasing Washington.

 

“Prince Mohammed told associates late last year that he was no longer interested in pleasing the U.S., saying he wants something in return for anything he gives Washington, according to people familiar with the conversation,” the Wall Street Journal reports.

Officials and other people familiar with Saudi oil policy say Riyadh’s move wasn’t a surprise, as it needs to defend higher prices to pay for massive development projects at home, some of which are so big that the Saudis call them gigaprojects. These include a Red Sea resort the size of Belgium with Maldives-style hotels hovering above the water and a $500 billion futuristic, high-tech city in the desert that is 33 times bigger than New York City.

 

Farouk Soussa, Middle East and North Africa economist at Goldman Sachs, said Saudi Arabia is less inclined to subordinate its own economic interests to support those of the U.S. than they have been historically.

 

The revelation out of Saudi Arabia comes just weeks after the crown prince said he does not care what President Biden thinks of him during man interview with The Atlantic.

 

Ever since Biden took office, the longstanding strategic alliance between Washington and Saudi Arabia, the world’s largest oil exporter, has been put to the test due to Riyadh’s track record on human rights, particularly concerning the Yemen conflict and the killing of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi in 2018.

 

In independent yet interconnected statements broadcasted by the Saudi state news agency SPA, Prince Mohammed hinted that Riyadh might opt to decrease its investments in the United States.

 

“Simply, I do not care,” he said in response to a question about what Biden thinks of him.

How long you can get hospice care

Hospice care is for people with a life expectancy of6 months or less(if the illness runs its normal course). If you live longer than 6 months, you can still get hospice care, as long as the hospice medical director or other hospice doctor recertifies that you’re terminally ill.

 

You can get hospice care for two 90-day benefit periods, followed by an unlimited number of 60-day benefit periods.
