Yes, but it needs to be arranged and confirmed earlier in the bread, or this happens.

I was trying to get it in before Ebaker had to, but we were about on the same time table.

That's no problem, the problem was not posting

the red text baking by 670 posts, in addition to not having the notables so far by 500ish.

Without these signs we can't tell whether the baker has abandoned post so backups gear up.

What would you like to do? If you want a handoff now, say baker requests handoff in red text and then I (or another baker) will say we can bake and once we agree, the baker that assumes the bake will confirm handoff in redtext.

I'll double-check.

Just to confirm, you are correct that handoffs that get discussed right before the end of a bread aren't usually officially handed off till the beginning of the next bread. Just try to post some notables by about post 500 and the big red BAKING at 630-680 so anons know there's a baker baking or some of us start to sperg out ((cough)).

If you do want to handoff mid-bread, the custom is to request handoff in red text until the next baker confirms in red, and then you reply 'acknowledged' (or some such) in red. We've had a lot of shill bakers (and new bakers) so the handoff custom lets other anons know clearly who's the baker on duty. You'd then post whatever notes you'd gathered up to that point of the bread for the next baker.
