BA.2.86 COVID variant IS spreading in the US: Virginia resident who traveled from Japan becomes second US patient to be infected - as experts say case is just tip of iceberg

 

The positive case was detected in an asymptomatic patient in Virginia who was tested August 10 after returning to the US from Japan. Scientists identified the case in a database that contains test samples from a small number of travelers entering the US. Independent experts told DailyMail.com they believe the new strain is spreading much more widely and in more US states. The new variant, also spotted in Michigan last week, is causing concern because it stems from an 'earlier branch' of the coronavirus, so it differs from the variants targeted by current vaccines.

I'm kidding when it comes to distros. What works best for one does not for the other. I'm an Arch and Gentoo Anon. Using Linux as a daily driver since '97. Kernel 0.99.2 iirc. Getting X11 to work on the Mach64VT graphics chip in my first PC (was a diehard 16/32bit Atari user until then, Falcon030 FTW!) was interesting on that kernel version.

How Much of Today’s ‘Racism’ Is Manufactured?

 

Commentary

The real problem with racism in America today is that demand far outstrips supply. Where does the demand come from? Chiefly from our woke elites. It is they who understand that the charge of “racism” is a potent meal ticket and guarantor of institutionalized political power. Accordingly, they have a large stake in perpetuating the reign of racism. In this realm, too, incentives matter.

 

It is also worth noting that many of these elite race cadets are white. Blacks are invited to participate in this theatrical production, but only so long as they play their assigned roles. They must mouth the pieties about “systemic,” i.e., perpetual, incurable racism.

 

The main narrative of this drama is racial conflict, enforced and perpetuated partly by a woke media machine, partly by governmental fiat. The real goal is the destruction of America as a meritocratic republic that cherishes individual liberty and the rule of law.

 

These are points that Thomas D. Klingenstein makes in “Racism in America Today: A Real or Manufactured Problem?,” a powerful speech he delivered at the Women’s National Republican Club earlier this summer and just posted on his website at TomKlingenstein.com. “To a very significant degree,” he argues, racism is a weapon “crafted by woke Leftists in order to overthrow the American way of life.”

 

Klingenstein, chairman of the Claremont Institute, is refreshingly forthright. “To the woke Left I say, ‘if you want to destroy America, then we will fight you and defeat you. America is not yours to destroy.’” Hear, hear.

 

This speech is full of hard truths. “Blacks commit more than 50 percent of the violent crime in America,” Klingenstein notes, “yet are only about 13 percent of population. The woke tell us this is due to racism, but Americans know better. We know that racism does not cause more crime, or out-of-wedlock births, or lower academic achievement.”

 

And here’s the kicker: “It is not racism but culture that causes outcome differences. But the woke make it very difficult for the rest of us to say it, because if it’s culture that explains outcome differences then the blame rests not on whites but on blacks.” That grinding sound you hear is The Narrative coming unglued. …

Not only was the new maui police chief, the incident commander for the Las Vegas Shooting & IS ALSO THE CORONER for the area but the fire isn’t hot enough to cremate the bodies they say are missing (similar to 9/11/2001)

 

“So as a former funeral homeowner and licensed funeral director for over two decades, I worked very extensively and closely with our local crematory. I was taught by that crematory that they need to cremate in between 2000 and 3000 degrees Fahrenheit. So the question is, how hot?

 

Those fires to be able to incinerate or cremate human remains. We know that it was at a higher level than 1500 to 2500 because it melted the rims on the vehicles. Why are there no bodies in the cars?”

FBI lovebird Peter Strzok has a special little cold spot for President Trump, and not just because he got fired for unprofessional behavior on while on the government's dime during Trump's term of office. He hates the guy insanely, enough to plot against him with his famous "insurance policy" as he told the FBI official he was having an affair with, and all one needs to do to see it now is to look through the convoluted logic of his Trump-hating tweets. His banner picture at the top of his Twitter account features legal indictment papers of Trump. So he tweeted this one:

Nimrodi is considered to be one of the founders of Israeli spy networks in Iran, Iraq and Persian Gulf Arab countries.

 

He served in various terrorist organizations and played an important role in helping the Israeli regime get established.

 

Nimrodi was born on June 1, 1926, in a Jewish Iraqi family in al-Quds. His family had migrated from Iraqi Kurdistan to Palestine before his birth. He began a spying career very early on, getting drafted into the first spy agency of the Zionist regime, Shai, before Israel was even established.

 

Nimrodi later joined the terrorist organization Haganah during the years 1940-1947 and participated in terror activities against Palestinians. He rapidly climbed the ladder in the Zionist regime's security network and became one of its high-ranking officers. He also became a member of Palmach, another terrorist organization that carried out operations against Muslims.

 

In the following years, during Israel's invasions of Arab countries, he was in charge of Israeli spy networks in the region. Nimrodi first entered Iran on January 20, 1956, through Turkey and became the first Israeli spy in Iran. His mission in Iran lasted for 13 years (until 1969). He had entered Tehran to establish communication between Mossad and SAVAK, the secret police, domestic security and intelligence service in Iran during the reign of the Pahlavi regime.

 

During the Pahlavi regime, many Mossad agents, mainly under economic, commercial, and unofficial diplomatic covers, operated in various parts of Iran. They would transport their military necessities, equipment, and weapons to Iran through diplomatic mail and use them for espionage activities. SAVAK played a primary role in facilitating these illegal transfers. Many of those who entered Iran from Israel under cultural and political covers were Mossad agents, and in many cases, they were completely unrecognizable to SAVAK and even the U.S. agency.

In the meantime, some espionage agents of Mossad operated in Iran under the cover of journalists and reporters, performing their assigned missions with such skill that they were rarely identified by SAVAK and other active intelligence-security services in Iran.

 

As was customary for Mossad worldwide, many of its agents and spies in Iran also had passports and seemingly non-Israeli nationalities. Some individuals with forged passports from European and American countries, among others, were active in Iran for Mossad. It should be noted that Mossad's unofficial spies and agents were Jews who lived in different countries and also held the citizenship and passport of those countries. However, they were ideologically and politically loyal to the Israeli regime.

 

Mossad quickly grew in Iran in the 60s and Israel has always been thankful to people like Nimrodi for that progress.

 

Nimrodi later admitted the brutality of Mossad’s activities and operations in Iran. "If journalists were allowed to learn about the things we did in Tehran, they would be horrified and even unable to picture them," the agent said during an interview.

 

Shortly after completing his mission in Iran, Nimrodi resigned from his positions in Mossad and the Israeli military and resumed his activities in the economic-commercial field in Iran. He maintained his connections with the Shah and high-ranking Iranian officials. However, SAVAK had no doubt that Nimrodi's presence in Iran would not be limited to business activities, and he would continue his espionage operations against Arab countries. In a document dated February 15, 1970, SAVAK casted doubt on Nimrodi’s true intentions: “Colonel Nimrodi apparently served in Iran for 13 years as a military aide to Israel and his new engagement in Iran, whether he retires from the army or not, is likely to be a cover for intelligence activities in the Persian Gulf and among the sheikhs”.

 

Therefore, Nimrodi, while engaging in major economic-commercial activities in Iran that brought him immense wealth, also had connections with the Israeli spying apparatus in West Asia. Until his last days in Iran during the Pahlavi era he was in fact serving the Israeli regime with great dedication. It is also believed that he was involved in the smuggling of Iranian antiquities to various foreign countries.

Within hours of the Commerce Department's announcement

 

The Biden administration removed dozens of Chinese companies from a trade restriction list the same day a top U.S. official announced her trip to Beijing for “constructive discussions” amid stabilization efforts with China.

 

The U.S. Commerce Department announced on Tuesday that Secretary Gina Raimondo will meet with Chinese officials and American business leaders to discuss “issues relating to the U.S.-China commercial relationship, challenges faced by U.S. businesses, and areas for potential cooperation,” during a visit to Beijing on Sunday. The Commerce Department Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) removed 27 Chinese companies from its unverified list the same day of the announcement, making it easier for those companies to trade with the U.S, according to a Tuesday press release from the BIS.

 

“We welcome the U.S. decision to remove Chinese entities from the “unverified list,” Liu Pengyu, spokesman for China’s Embassy in the U.S., said in a tweet on Tuesday. “It shows that [China and the U.S.] can address specific concerns through communication, based on mutual respect. China will continue to firmly defend its lawful rights and interests.”

 

Foreign companies registered on the unverified list are subject to enhanced trade restrictions and greater transparency requirements with the U.S., according to the BIS website. Companies are placed on the list if the U.S. cannot verify their legitimacy for the end use or end user of items they receive exports from, according to the Code of Federal Regulations.

 

Twenty-seven Chinese companies were removed from the unverified list by BIS within hours of the Commerce Department’s announcement that Raimondo would be traveling to Beijing for diplomatic discussions.

 

“The ability to verify the legitimacy and reliability of foreign parties receiving U.S. exports through the timely completion of end-use checks is a core principle of our export control system,” said Assistant Secretary for Export Enforcement Matthew S. Axelrod, according to a press release from BIS. “Our removal of 33 parties demonstrates the concrete benefit companies receive when they or a host government cooperates with BIS to complete a successful end-use check.”

 

Raimondo’s Beijing visit comes one month after her email server, along with other servers in the Commerce and State Department, was breached by a Chinese-based hacking group that targeted dozens of global organizations over a months-long cyber attack campaign.

 

The Commerce Department and the BIS did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Last Thursday, the Biden Administration announced an up to

$1.2 billion investment in the development of the nation's first Direct Air Capture facilities.

 

Sites in Texas and Louisiana have been chosen for these facilities.

 

The King Ranch will be the site for the Texas location.

 

Combined, these “direct air capture” hubs will remove more than 2 million metric tons of carbon dioxide from the air each year.

 

The president of the Kingsville Chamber of Commerce, Manny Salazar, says this project will have a great influence on the city.

 

“We are very excited about the opportunity this presents to the Kingsville community and we are excited about the job creation

that this is going to bring about.

 

We are excited about the investments and all the opportunities this is going to provide to the local community,” Salazar said.

 

Salazar says the project has a positive climate impact.

 

"This is a green project; direct air capture basically takes ambient air, puts it through a process, and at the end of a process,

the pure carbon will be sequestered about a mile and a half below earth.” Salazar said.

 

This project will not only protect the public's health, but it will also create nearly 2,500 jobs in Kleberg County.

 

“Kingsville has a poverty rate that is twice the state average, so when you bring in a project like this that is going to create

jobs that can support a family, you really do break the cycle of generational poverty that we have seen here in Kingsville,” Salazar said.

 

Even though the project is based in South Texas, it is expected to have a global impact in purifying the air.

Tim Ballard has had it with being linked to QAnon conspiracies.

 

The former US Department of Homeland Security agent, who estimates he has gone on “several dozen” missions to rescue sex-trafficked children since founding Operation Underground Railroad a decade ago, has become the public face of the surprise American box office hit Sound of Freedom.

 

Ballard is played by Jim Caviezel from The Passion of the Christ in a dark low-budget thriller that has taken a stunning $US178 million – more than the latest Indiana Jones and Mission: Impossible movies – since faith-based distributor Angel Studios released it on Independence Day.

 

While it dramatises a mission to rescue sex-trafficked children in Colombia without taking sides politically, the movie has been championed by the far right in America’s fractious culture wars.

 

Its supporters have included Steve Bannon, MyPillow proprietor Mike Lindell, QAnon followers online, Mel Gibson, who is one of the executive producers, and former president Donald Trump, who held a private screening at his Bedminster golf club a month ago.

 

That leaves Ballard facing awkward questions, ahead of the movie’s opening in Australian cinemas this week, like whether he believes in the QAnon conspiracy that liberal elites run paedophilia rings.

 

“That gets into some conspiracy theories that I’m not a part of, even though I’ve been accused of being a part of this QAnon movement,” Ballard says on a patchy Zoom call after a premiere in Buenos Aires. “I’ve disavowed it so many times. But I will say that the sex addiction that brings the demand for child sex is everywhere.

 

“It’s on every level of every economic order, every type of person. Professionals, educators, law enforcement and politicians. Jeffrey Epstein is an example. So I don’t think it’s more prominent in elite circles. I think it’s really just everywhere.”

 

Ballard, who co-chaired a council established to guide federal anti-trafficking policymaking during the Trump presidency, describes human trafficking as a $US150 billion a year business around the world.

 

He claims his teams have rescued more than 7000 women and children and assisted in the arrest of 5000 paedophiles and traffickers. But in the storm of controversy that has surrounded Sound of Freedom, Ballard has been accused of self-mythologising and embellishing his exploits.

 

An attorney who is an authority on anti-trafficking, Erin Allbright, has described the movie as being so “divorced from reality” about how trafficking works that it could harm victims.

 

Ballard puts criticisms of the movie down to people with agendas and says its success reflects rising concern about the sexualisation of children.

 

“There’s a movement, for example, to change the name paedophile to ‘minor-attracted person’ in order to normalise all this,” he says. “We have a crisis at our border with 85,000 unaccompanied minors, thousands of them children under five years old, who have shown up and been released to whoever picks them up.

 

“And that’s into the country that’s [the biggest] consumer of child exploitation material in the world …The people that are pushing those agendas are doing all they can to stop Sound of Freedom and making false accusations. It’s like the battle lines have been drawn almost around this film about those who will stand up for children and those who are not going to.”

 

Director Alejandro Monteverde has also distanced the movie from QAnon, telling The Los Angeles Times that becoming the rallying cry for conspiracy believers has been heartbreaking, hurtful and “discredits the purity of the work”.

Six Californias was a proposed initiative to split the U.S. state of California into six states. It failed to qualify as a California ballot measure for the 2016 state elections due to receiving insufficient signatures.

 

Venture capitalist Tim Draper launched the measure in December 2013. He spent in excess of $5 million trying to qualify the proposition for the ballot, with nearly $450,000 for political consultants.[1] Had the measure passed, it would not have legally split California immediately; consent would eventually need to be given by both the California State Legislature and the U.S. Congress to admit the new states to the union per Article IV, Section 3 of the U.S. Constitution. Rather, the measure would have established several procedures within the state government and its 58 counties to prepare California for the proposed split, and instructed the Governor of California to submit the state-splitting proposal to Congress.[2]

 

The proposed states would have been named Jefferson, North California, Silicon Valley, Central California, West California, and South California. Draper's stated reasoning for the proposal was that the state is too large and ungovernable, and he therefore wanted to split California to produce six smaller and more efficient state governments.

 

Opponents argued that it would have been a waste of money and resources to split California and create these new governments. Critics also charged that this was a money and political power grab designed to separate California's higher-income communities from lower-income areas, and to diminish the state's reliability as a predominantly Democratic Party-supporting "blue state".

Lone Tree was platted by John W.
