i have been on 4chan and 8kun since i quit my job in late 2017/early 2018

there were 2 sabbaticals, 1 when pelosi shut it down i think in august 2018, then self imposed sep thru oct 2023 to refresh myself

in any case you need to understand how much of a resource 8kun is

this is where i get my "news" and it is thankfully a Trump friendly place

in an odd and mysterious way i have built comraderie with fellow anons so that sense of community would surely be missed

US Consumer Borrowing Rises Most in Three Months on Credit Cards

 

US consumer borrowing increased in May by the most in three months, reflecting a jump in credit-card balances. Total credit outstanding rose $11.4 billion after a revised $6.5 billion gain in April, according to Federal Reserve data released Monday. The median forecast in a Bloomberg survey of economists called for an $8.9 billion increase for May. The figures aren’t adjusted for inflation.

 

Revolving credit, which includes credit cards, advanced $7 billion, also the most in three months. Non-revolving credit, such as loans for vehicle purchases and school tuition, increased $4.3 billion. Many Americans who have whittled away their pent-up savings accumulated during the pandemic(gone long ago and just a narrative they push)are relying on credit cards and other payment methods to spend. Combined with the rise in the cost of living, that’s further straining household finances and points to a slowdown in consumption. That may explain a recent pullback in consumer spending. Retail sales barely rose in May and prior months were revised down, according to the latest data.

The monthly consumer credit report doesn’t include mortgages. The latest quarterly data from the New York Fed show that household debt, including mortgages, rose to a record $17.7 trillion in the first three months of the year. Consumers have added $3.4 trillion in debt since the pandemic, and borrowing over the past few years is carrying much higher interest rates. The Fed’s report Monday showed that borrowing rates on credit cards that charge interest rose to 22.76% in May, just shy of a record in data back to 1994. Some doctors are changing over to a cash only system to spend more time with a patient. Ambulatory outpatient surgery centers are also becoming popular.

 

Schoonover explains an alternative system that has a reduced monthly premium and funding for large bills comes from group members. He reveals how enormous hospital bills can be reduced and gave an example of how a member received a hospital bill for over $400,000 that was reduced down to $70,000.

New York City Hotels Housing Illegal Aliens Receive Over $1 Billion In Taxpayer Funds; Report

 

In New York City, hotels that have converted into shelters for hordes of illegal aliens have been given over $1 billion in taxpayer money to keep them in business.

 

As reported by Fox News, the average hotel room for an illegal costs $156 per night, with some costing over $300 per night. As such, the city government has already spent at least $1.98 billion on housing for illegals, with 80% of that amount going to hotels or inns that have been converted into shelters, rather than to shelters operated by the city. Overall, the city has spent at least $4.88 billion on the mass migration crisis.

 

Some of the contracts agreed upon between the city and various hotels include a deal for $5.13 million per month with the Row NYC hotel, located in Midtown Manhattan. In South Jamaica, Queens, the Crowne Plaza JFK is being given $2 million per month to continue renting out its 335 rooms to illegals.

 

In September of 2023, the city secured a contract with the Hotel Association of New York City (HANYC) for $1.3 billion over the next three years. In January, another deal was signed between the city and HANYC for $76.69 million to provide “last resort” shelters to illegals at 15 different hotels across the Bronx, Queens, and Brooklyn through July.

 

Business owners in the surrounding neighborhoods have noted the decline in economic revenue for their businesses and others around them, as the tourists that would normally stay in such hotels and subsequently patronize their own businesses have been replaced by illegals who have no money.

 

“Our taxes are being used to pay for the migrants, and where are we supposed to make revenue?” asked William Shandler, manager at the Iron Bar located across the street from the Row hotel.

 

“How as a business could we function?”

 

Republican Councilwoman Joann Ariola also criticized the gutting of the tourism industry in favor of illegals, pointing out that hotels were built to be used by tourists, “not for sheltering the masses of people pouring over our borders every day.”

 

“These locations were meant to boost the economy of this city,” Ariola continued, “but instead they’ve become a net drain and are costing us enormously.”

China's 'Shock' Statement: Palestinians Have Right To Use 'Armed Force' Against Israel

China has backed the right of the Palestinian people to use armed force to combat Israel's occupation of their land, calling it an "an inalienable right well founded in international law".

The comments on Thursday were made by the Chinese ambassador to the UN, Zhang Jun, during the fourth day of public hearings held by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague, Netherlands.

Representatives of 52 countries are addressing the ICJ on Israel's decades-long occupation of Palestinian land.

Beijing’s envoy said there were "various people (who) freed themselves from colonial rule" and they could use "all available means, including armed struggle".

He described the Palestinian use of armed resistance as legitimate and not an act of terrorism.

 

"The struggle waged by peoples for their liberation, right to self-determination, including armed struggle against colonialism, occupation, aggression, domination against foreign forces should not be considered terror acts," Zhang Jun told the court.

 

In his speech, Jun criticized Israeli policies, characterizing them as “oppression that has severely undermined and impeded the exercises and full realization of the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination".

The ICJ’s public hearings, which will be held until February 26, come after a UN General Assembly resolution requesting an ICJ advisory opinion.

The number of states participating in the oral proceedings is the highest of any case since the ICJ's establishment in 1945 and is separate to the more publicized genocide case brought by South Africa. A panel of 15 judges are expected to take about six months to deliberate before issuing an advisory opinion.

Besides China, other countries scheduled to participate in the hearings include Hungary, France, South Africa and Egypt.

International bodies, including the Arab League, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the African Union will also take part. Israel will not participate but has sent written observations to the court.

The mishap appears to be a downstream issue, likely related to the airline's ground crew instead of Boeing.

Vice President Kamala Harris defended anti-Israel campus agitators, telling the Nation in an exclusive interview she "understands the emotion behind it."

"They are showing exactly what the human emotion should be, as a response to Gaza," the vice president said in an excerpt of the interview released Monday. "There are things some of the protesters are saying that I absolutely reject, so I don’t mean to wholesale endorse their points. But we have to navigate it. I understand the emotion behind it."

Those protesters have wreaked havoc on college campuses for months, calling for the elimination of Israel, defending Hamas’s Oct. 7 terrorist attack on Israel, and assaulting Jewish students.

In April, pro-Palestinian protesters at Yale stabbed a Jewish student in the eye. Agitators at UCLA spewed death threats at Jewish students and a campus rabbi in June. And Columbia University has been rife with anti-Semitic vitriol for months, with students chanting, "There is only one solution, intifada revolution." The widespread violence and anti-Semitic rhetoric has led to a congressional investigation of multiple universities.

In early June, Harris mourned the "tragic" loss of "innocent" Gazans killed in a June 8 IDF raid that rescued four Israeli hostages taken on Oct. 7. Harris has slammed Israel for what she considers insufficient humanitarian efforts and "unnecessary restrictions" on aid delivery in Gaza. Harris called for an "immediate ceasefire" in March.

Children were sent to guardians with suspected criminal history and other red flags to avoid detaining them in government facilities.

 

Many unaccompanied minors who crossed the border illegally were sent to guardians or sponsors in the US who were using the children for criminal purposes, such as labor trafficking. Government officials repeatedly ignored concerns from lower-level workers who warned about placing minors in certain households, per a report from the Wall Street Journal.

 

The Biden administration overlooked these concerns in an attempt to avoid the appearance of holding minors in immigration facilities. Per the Flores agreement, minors must be released. Administration officials wanted to avoid the images of the "kids in cages" that were seen under the Trump administration. If the minors were not moved on to sponsor homes, regardless of the safety or security of those homes, Biden would have faced the same issue of overcrowding of detainment centers at the border. Biden's policy has been to allow as many unaccompanied minors into the US as show up at the border on any given day.

 

HHS admitted that it was ill-prepared to properly handle the many different requests for placing the children in sponsor homes, but they claim that the program has improved and have insisted that guardians are now more properly vetted. In a statement to the WSJ the agency wrote “Child welfare best-practices are clear that children belong with family and not in shelters.”

 

In 2021, up to 18.700 unaccompanied minors crossed the border each month and HHS set up 14 makeshift shelters in order to house them. Employees at the shelters, however, were not trained in child welfare or trained in how to place children into homes.

 

The WSJ report added, "Following an internal investigation, the inspector general for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, which oversaw a network of shelters caring for unaccompanied minors, found gaps in the process to screen temporary guardians. It said in February that 16% of records for children who were released to sponsors in March and April 2021 lacked evidence that a required safety check was conducted."

 

According to the report, a case worker for one minor placed the child in a home in Florida, but noted at the time "It does not appear safe for the minor to be released to a home environment that was not fully assessed." Days later, a government official dismissed the concern for sending the child to the home in question, per memos reviewed by the WSJ.

 

In another example, a 16-year-old Guatemalan boy was set to be sent to a man said to be his uncle. The man in question had been charged with a felony three months before for domestic violence. A Health and Human Services case coordinator originally denied the request to have the minor placed in the home, but that was overridden a few days later and the boy was sent to the man. Other government records showed that the boy was not related to the man who claimed to be his uncle. HHS has been designated to place unaccompanied minors with sponsor homes in the US.

It is becoming clear to everyone now what European countries have done to themselves, but the full effects still won’t be seen for another few decades. Still, there are unmistakable hints of what is happening, and what is to come, that are unmistakable to those who are paying attention. The attentive, however, are still few — so few that this entire ghastly drama will have to be played out to its almost inevitable conclusion. Consider, for example, a piquant and revealing news item from Sweden: crime rates go down in the summertime. Why? Because the “refugees” go on vacation.

 

The Swedish-language publication Fria Tider reported Tuesday that “in southern Sweden, it becomes quieter in the summer when the criminals go on holiday to their home countries, according to the police.”

 

Yes, you read that right: the people who commit most of the crimes in Sweden go on vacation to their countries of origin, and so their place of refuge becomes calmer and safer for the native population. Mats Karlsson, the head of intelligence for the police in the southern region of Sweden, explained: “Some of them, who originate in other countries, go there over the summer. Then we notice a big difference, a greater calm, in our vulnerable areas. In the second year when they are still in Sweden, they become messier.”

 

Now wait a minute. Aren’t many of these migrants supposed to be asylum seekers and refugees? So why are they vacationing in the countries they supposedly fled for their lives?

 

Also, who is paying for these vacations, with migrants receiving “65 percent of social welfare expenditures”? Swedish taxpayers? Why?

 

The “foreign-born represent 53 percent of individuals with long prison sentences, 58 percent of the unemployed.” As if that weren’t enough, they receive “77 percent of Sweden’s child poverty is present in households with a foreign background, while 90 percent of suspects in public shootings have immigrant backgrounds.” What benefit does Sweden receive from importing a large criminal element?

 

Whatever good the Swedish elites think that the migrants are bringing to Sweden, they continue to ignore the fact that many of the migrants wish to transform Sweden, and all of Europe, and remake it in their own image. One reason for their high crime rate is their absolute contempt for the laws of the unbelievers, “the most vile of created beings” (Qur’an 98:6). Add to this mix a multiculturalist ethos that exalts the presence of foreign and non-assimilated cultures within Western countries perceived as large umbrella structures for a huge variety of diverse peoples, and the stage is set for a policy of appeasement and accommodation of the ideology of Islamic supremacism.

 

European elites today believe that by admitting large numbers of Muslim immigrants into their country and making special accommodations for Islamic culture and practices, Europe will achieve a new cultural flowering – but left unconsidered in this is the nature of political Islam, which when dominant is hardly hospitable to rival political systems or cultures.

 

Cultural appeasement has become the norm in Europe today. The old model of requiring that immigrants assimilate and adopt the customs and mores of their new country has given way to a multiculturalist model that envisions immigrants maintaining their own practices and cultural habits in their new country. In the case of Islam, since Islamic law contains a complete model for society and governance that is considered to be divinely inspired and superior to all its rivals, multiculturalism accommodation is short-sighted, and tantamount to cultural suicide. And given that Islam also is unique among the religions of the world in containing a developed doctrine, theology and legal system that mandates warfare against unbelievers, this accommodation is difficult to distinguish, either in intention or effect, from outright appeasement.

Dozens of health workers and police officers have been vindicated in class action cases financed by Australian billionaire Clive Palmer.

A 15 page judgement handed down by justice Glenn Martin, he has found the departing QLD police commissioner Katerina Carrol, was unlawful under the Human Rights act when she issued a mandatory vaccination order in December 2021.
