Mass Carnage: The Tech Industry Has Laid Off More Than 166,000 Workers So Far In 2025

 

“Efficiency” has become one of the hottest trends in the tech industry, and that is really bad news for American workers, because one of the best ways to become “more efficient” is to get rid of low-performing employees. Just about every time a big tech company fires a bunch of workers, the stock price of that particular company makes a significant jump. Needless to say, many executives have taken note of this, and that could help to explain why even highly successful tech companies have been conducting multiple rounds of mass layoffs in 2025.

 

Through September 15th, the tech industry has laid off more than 166,000 workers.

 

And by the end of this year, it is being projected that the grand total could reach nearly a quarter of a million…

 

Between 1 January and 15 September 2025, more than 166,000 employees were laid off in the technology sector. We estimate that, on average, 645 workers have lost their jobs every day since the start of the year and, at this pace, the tech industry is set to let go of another 69,005 people by year-end. If the trend continues, calculations show that total tech-sector layoffs in 2025 could reach 235,392.

 

Tech industry jobs are good paying jobs.

 

So it isn’t as if a bunch of people that are making minimum wage suddenly have to find something else to do.

 

When good paying jobs are eliminated, the middle class gets smaller.

 

And as I have extensively documented, middle class workers that have lost their jobs are having an exceedingly difficult time finding new employment in this very harsh environment.

 

The tech company that is slashing jobs the hardest is Intel.

 

By the end of this year, more than 30,000 Intel employees will have been forced to hit the bricks…

 

The company cutting the most jobs so far in 2025 is Intel, which had close to 109,000 employees at the end of 2024 and, by the end of this year, plans to reduce headcount to 75,000, according to Reuters, effectively slashing more than 30 thousand positions.

 

Without a doubt, Intel has been struggling.

 

So it makes sense that they are reducing headcount.

 

But tech companies that have been highly profitable are also brutally cutting employees.

Federal Communications Commission Chairman Brendan Carr said Thursday that ABC late-night host Jimmy Kimmel appeared to “mislead” the American public about facts regarding conservative activist Charlie Kirk’s killing in the days leading up to his show’s suspension.

 

Carr also told CNBC’s “Squawk on the Street” that “we’re not done yet” with the changes in “the media ecosystem” that are consequences of President Donald Trump’s election last fall.

 

ABC on Wednesday night said it was pulling “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” off the air “indefinitely” because of the host’s comments, which linked Kirk’s alleged killer, Tyler Robinson, to Trump’s “Make America Great Again” movement.

 

“The issue that arose here, where lots and lots of people were upset, was not a joke,” Carr said Thursday on CNBC.

“It was not making fun,”said Carr, who hours before Kimmel’s show was pulled off the air suggested the FCC might take action against ABC and its parent company, Disney.

 

“It was appearing to directly mislead the American public about a significant fact that probably one of the most significant political events we’ve had in a long time, for the most significant political assassination we’ve seen in a long time,”he said.

 

Utah court documents filed Tuesday in connection with the murder charge against Robinson say his mother told investigators, “Over the last year or so, her son had become more political and had started to lean more to the left, becoming more pro gay and trans-rights oriented.”

 

Those documents also say that when Robinson was asked why he killed Kirk,

“Robinson explained there is too much evil, and [Kirk] spreads too much hate.”

A day before those documents were filed, Kimmel, in his show’s opening monologue Monday, said, “The MAGA Gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it.”

 

Trump on Wednesday evening praised Kimmel’s suspension and called on NBC to cancel its own late-night shows, “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” and “Late Night with Seth Meyers.”==

 

“Squawk on the Street” anchor Carl Quintanilla asked Carr about that on Thursday.

 

==“I asked earlier about Fallon and Seth Meyers, but is the president’s view that they should also be taken off the air, shared by the FCC?” Quintanilla asked.

 

Carr replied,“I don’t speak for the president.”

 

“Our goal and our obligation here is to make sure that broadcasters are serving the public interest,” Carr said.

Former ESPN star Sam Ponder has revealed she has received abusive messages after paying tribute to Charlie Kirk.Ponder, who worked for the network for over a decade, mourned the political activist after he was shot and killed during a public on-campus appearance at Utah Valley University last week.

 

Yet, just two days after sharing her post honoring the 31-year-old MAGA star,the sports presenter lifted the lid on the direct messages she has received in response, revealing that they were worse than usual.

 

'My DMs are more disturbing than ever (and trust me, that's sayin something).Apparently only perfect people can be mourned when they're murdered in their 30s with a wife and young children,' the former 'Sunday NFL Countdown' host wrote.

 

'When a man is shot, debating opinions with anyone for all to see, he must align with our chosen dogma perfectly. If not, he had it coming/shouldn't have said those mean things, so you should shut up about it.

 

'How can we see someone post about sadness over the death of ANYONE they cared about,even someone we think was flawed, and say "Stop being sad about them. I didn't like their opinions." Mourn with those who mourn. If I ever see hypocrisy, let me see it in myself.

She was fired by ESPN just two years into her three-year, $3 million contract back in August 2024, with her dismissal attributed to cost-cutting measures at the time.

 

However, the Sunday NFL Countdown host's exit came just weeks after she spoke out against boxer Imane Khelif - who won a women's boxing gold medal at the 2024 Olympics in Paris despite claims she is a biological male.

 

Kirk, a conservative activist and close ally of Donald Trump, was shot and killed while hosting a Q&A event with students at Utah Valley University last Wednesday.

 

Kirk, a married father of two, was hit by a single bullet while speaking to a crowd at the public university in Orem. He collapsed immediately after and was rushed to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

 

The Detroit Lions, Cincinnati Bengals, Baltimore Ravens, Indianapolis Colts and Minnesota Vikings all failed to honor Kirk prior to their Week 2 matchups on Sunday.

 

Every other home team on the day brought a halt to proceedings to hold a moment of silence, leaving NFL fans furious with the five who chose not to do so.

 

Ponder's fellow former ESPN star, Sage Steele, was among those to call out the franchises for not honoring Kirk.

 

Steele, who left ESPN in 2023 to express her opinions more freely after being suspended over comments about Barack Obama and the Covid-19 vaccine, was one of many who called out the franchises in question, writing on X: '

 

Disappointing. Especially considering how vocal these 4 teams were after George Floyd’s death.

 

'What a missed opportunity to condemn violence (as they did in 2020 & beyond) and preach diversify of thought and peace. Sad.'

 

However, like Ponder, she revealed that she also faced vile backlash in response to her post.

A nearly 22-minute video titled 'The Roswell Incident' has been quietly uploaded to the National Archives, reigniting interest in the infamous 1947 crash.

The footage combines still images and motion-control camera shots sourced from the published Roswell Report, as well as various magazines and books about UFOs.

It opens with a shot of the book 'The Roswell Report: Fact Versus Fiction in the New Mexico Desert' and ends with a stark black-and-white image that appears to show a crash site, with debris scattered across a massive crater in the ground.

The video has flooded the internet, with users claiming the crater bears a striking resemblance to eyewitness reports, suggesting it could be 'the first pictures of the 1947 UFO crash site.'

 

Major Jesse Marcel, who recovered debris from the crash, described the scene as 'a large area heavily scattered with metallic debris from a single impact point that scarred the earth.'

Some viewers have also pointed to a dark formation on the right side of the image, claiming it resembles an alien body.

UFO expert Mark Lee told the Daily Mail that the crater image was likely included to add intrigue.

'In my opinion, it's either a hoax,' he said. 'Just because it's been added to the National Archives doesn't give it scientific validation. If it came out as a release from the military or Congress, I would take it a lot more seriously.'

 

Lee also noted that the 'alien' in the photo is nothing more than a case of pareidolia, a psychological response to seeing faces and other significant and everyday items in random stimuli.

The newly uploaded video appears to focus on 'The Roswell Report: Fact Versus Fiction in the New Mexico Desert,' a 1995 book that attributes the crashed 'UFO' debris to Project Mogul.

Project Mogul was a top-secret US military program from 1947 to 1949 that used high-altitude balloons equipped with microphones to detect sound waves from Soviet atomic bomb tests.

A 1994 military investigation concluded that the debris found at the Roswell site was likely pieces of a high-altitude balloon from Project Mogul, not an extraterrestrial spacecraft.

 

Despite this official explanation, the newly uploaded video has sparked debate online, with viewers offering widely differing interpretations.

One user posted: 'It’s clearly B-roll for that Roswell presentation the government put together in 1996. Someone must have found this and uploaded it in the last couple of days.'

Others have suggested a dead alien can be seen in the image, pointing to what Marcle said following the Roswell incident.

'I later found out that the pilot of the aircraft was a Captain Henderson, who apparently saw far more than just the debris from the impact site… he may in fact have seen the remains of a crew,' the now deceased major said.

 

In July 1947, a rancher reported pieces of debris scattered over his land.

Authorities were called to the scene and, after investigating the wreckage, determined the pieces were from a flying saucer.

The local paper's front page story reported that the Roswell Army Field recovered a flying saucer on a New Mexico Ranch after metallic-looking, light but strong material was scattered across the land.

'The intelligence office of the 509th Bombardment Group at Roswell Army Air Field announced at noon today that the field has come into the possession of a Flying Saucer,' Roswell Daily Record reported on July 8, 1947.

 

The statement was given by Marcel, who was the first on the scene and led the investigation, which he determined were pieces from an extraterrestrial vehicle.

He also said that the material spread out from this point into a triangular-shaped area 200 to 300 feet wide at the end of the field, and 3/4 of a mile long.

Shortly after the 'UFO' discovery made headlines, the War Department in Washington released a statement claiming the debris was the remains of a weather balloon.

The US Air Force stated the weather balloon was part of Project Mogul's airborne system invented by Columbia University, New York University and the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution.

It was designed to search the atmosphere for weak reverberations from nuclear-test blasts.

Bloody Day For Israel With Six Soldiers Killed In Gaza And West Bank (Videos, Photos)

 

Six Israeli soldiers were killed on September 18 in two separate attacks that took place in the occupied West Bank and the Gaza Strip, where the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) is conducting a major offensive.

 

In the afternoon, two soldiers, a reservist in the Civil Administration and a liaison officer with foreign forces in the IDF’s Tevel international cooperation unit, were killed in a shooting and stabbing attack near Allenby Crossing between the West Bank and Jordan. The attacker was identified as a Jordanian citizen who had been driving a humanitarian aid truck headed for Gaza.

 

The IDF said after the attack that security forces had “neutralized the terrorist” at the scene of the attack, adding that troops were carrying out scans in the area for additional suspects and briefly encircled the nearby town of Jericho.

 

In a statement, the Jordanian Foreign Ministry announced that the country’s security forces had launched an investigation into “the shooting incident” on the Israeli side of the Allenby Crossing.

 

While the IDF has not yet faced any resistance from Hamas or other Palestinian armed factions in Gaza City, in the morning it took a blow in the southern part of the Strip, specifically in Rafah, where a roadside bomb struck a Humvee armored vehicle killing four soldiers.

 

The IDF acknowledged the deaths later in night, revealing that all four slain soldiers were serving in the Bahad 1 officers’ school’s Dekel Battalion. One of them was a company commander, while the other three troops were cadets.

Let me explain.

This video is a distraction to cause confusion, like many other videos circulating.

Israel killed Charlie with a hidden sniper on the right backside of Charlie. That big hole on the frontside of Charlie's neck was the exit wound.

Charlie Kirk’s Widow Erika and Their Children Get Court-Ordered Protective Custody

A Utah judge ordered the wife of Charlie Kirk and the couple’s two children into protective custody on Wednesday, citing an immediate danger posed by the man accused of assassinating the conservative activist.

 

The order prohibits any form of contact between the suspect, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, and Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk, 36.

 

According to court records, the restrictions extend to phone, email, text, social media, or mail.

 

Robinson is also barred from harassment, threats, stalking, or “any other conduct that would place the protected person or designated family or household members in reasonable fear of bodily injury,” the Western Journal reported.

 

Robinson remains held without bail at the Utah County Jail following his arrest in connection with the September 10 killing of Charlie Kirk.

 

While he will not be released on his own recognizance,the court noted he may have access to a phone inside the facility, prompting the judge to impose the protective order to prevent any direct or indirect communication with the Kirk family.

 

The legal action came as Erika Kirk delivered her first public remarks since her husband’s death.

 

Appearing before cameras on Friday, she told supporters that her husband’s mission would endure despite his assassination.

 

“If you thought that my husband’s mission was powerful before, you have no idea,” she said.

 

“You have no idea what you have just unleashed across this entire country and this world. You have no idea. You have no idea the fire that you have ignited within this wife. The cries of this widow will echo around the world like a battle cry.”

 

She added that her late husband’s work through his American Comeback tour will continue.

“Our campus tour this fall will continue. There will be even more tours in the years to come,” she stated.

 

The American Comeback tour is scheduled to resume on September 30 at Utah State University in Logan.

The school confirmed it has taken additional measures to secure the event.

 

“USU works diligently to protect the safety of our community and has a robust plan that is evaluated routinely,” Amanda DeRito, associate vice president for strategic communications, told KTVX.

 

“Even during times without heightened safety concerns, Utah State’s Department of Public Safety collaborates with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies to ensure security measures at campus events are planned and staffed according to industry best practices, including a thorough comprehensive threat assessment, detailed security planning, deployment of a diverse array of security assets, effective crowd management, close protection for the speaker, clear communication and coordination, and readiness for crisis response.”

 

The protective order remains in effect as Robinson awaits trial.

The case continues to develop as Kirk’s widow takes on a prominent role in urging supporters to advance her late husband’s vision.

Sir Keir Starmer faced an awkward question from a US journalist over his plan to recognise a Palestinian state during a joint press conference with Donald Trump. The reporter asked the Prime Minster why he was "waiting for President Trump to leave the country" before going ahead with the move.

 

It comes after reports that Keir held off on formally announcing the UK will recognise a Palestinian state until after Mr Trump leaves for fear it could dominate the press conference. The journalist asked: "If you feel so strongly about officially recognising Palestine for statehood why are you waiting for President Trump to leave the country? Why can't you just do it right now? Isn't there a risk in rewarding Hamas with that?"

 

The PM replied: "Let me be really clear about Hamas. They are a terrorist organisation who can have no part in any future governance in Palestine."

 

At this point, Mr Trump patted the Prime Minister on the back and said "that's good".

 

Sir Keir went on: "What happened on October 7 was the worst attack since the Holocaust.

 

"We have extended family in Israel, I understand first-hand the psychological impact that had across Israel.

The Prime Minister previously said he plans to recognise Palestinian statehood ahead of the United Nations general assemblyin New York this month if Israel does not meet a series of conditions to improve the humanitarian situation in Gaza.

 

Earlier in the press conference,Mr Trump described Sir Keir's plan to recognise a Palestinian state as "one of our few disagreements".

Dowell is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court, BPD said in a statement.

I need you to send someone over to document this. We have tons of spores flying around our front property, they almost fly like insects but they are not insects and they range from the size of a dust grain to as large as 1/10th of a cotton ball. It is coming from the western neighbor and when the sunsets as around this time, you can see thousands of them simultaneously. The can float very slowly and just dart as fast as 20 mph due to the wind and their lightness. What seems like a spore landing on the ground can shoot up to half the size of a full groan tree in just a second or two. I believe this is the stuff that has causing us blindness, killing our lawn, and making the dog very sick. It starts up around this time and was present earlier so I doubt it is just nature. Please check it out for yourself because if I upload a video, it will reveal where I live. ThankQ for your attention to this matter.
