Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday has offered President Trump a temporary nuclear arms control deal that would extend the status quo by one year, at a moment the future of the New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty, or New START, is hanging by a thread.

 

During a meeting with permanent members of the Russian Security Council, Putin said he was ready to extend by one year the last arms control treaty between Washington and Moscow, Reuters reports. This would allow time to negotiate its further extension, likely by another five years. This would be "if the US reciprocates, to prevent a new arms race," Putin stipulated.

 

He painted a dire picture of strategic security in the world. "Unfortunately, it continues to degrade, which is caused by the combined impact of a number of factors, including negative ones, provoking the aggravation of existing and the emergence of new strategic risks,"

Who is to blame for Charlie Kirk’s murder?

 

After Charlie Kirk’s assassination, I started thinking about who is really to blame and how this happened. There is a lot of blame to go around. I want to focus on an event five years ago this month that I think contributed to Charlie's death.

 

Five years ago, the FBI said Antifa was not an organization, but an ideology. I don’t know about you, but they seem to have structure and resources.  They really seem like an organization.

So I am left with a lot of questions:

 

• How did the FBI make the determination?

• What resources did they use to determine that Antifa is not an organization?

• How much did they spend making this determination?

• How much did they spend tracking parents, Catholics, and attendees of school board meetings as domestic terrorists?

• Who worked on that research packet used for the congressional testimony the director of the FBI gave five years ago?

• Does any of the people who worked on that assessment work in Utah now? Or are such people in any way a part of the FBI investigation of Charlie’s death?

• Was any of the team who worked on this a political operative?

 

In my humble opinion, had the FBI been apolitical and spent the appropriate time and resources tracking Antifa, Charlie might be alive today. The young people who have been radicalized would not have been. Antifa is and has been a terrorist organization, and it is still active. It seems that people at the FBI and DOJ have been protecting them.

We have a right to understand how that assessment formed FBI and DOJ policy on Antifa. We have a right to know who worked on that assessment. And we have a right to know if they are involved in any way in the investigation of Charlie’s death.

 

I ask for Tulsi Gabbard to release the names and documents used to make the determination.  Gabbard is the only person who can reach into the I.C. silos and pull this information.

 

The search for truth will continue, and we deserve answers. We are not the same.

NASA, SpaceX, and spacecraft mission managers are moving forward with the launch of the agency’s IMAP (Interstellar Mapping and Acceleration Probe) mission to study space weather from the Sun and map the edges of our solar system.

During the agency’s Launch Readiness Review, Dr. Denton Gibson, NASA’s launch director, and the launch team polled “go” for launch for IMAP and its two rideshares:

NASA’s Carruthers Geocorona Observatory and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) Space Weather Follow On – Lagrange 1 (SWFO-L1) satellite.

 

NASA will host a prelaunch news conference at 2:30 p.m. EDT Sunday to discuss the three missions. Coverage will stream on the agency’s website and YouTube channel with the following participants:

The parliamentary election for Moldova is scheduled for September 28th.

 

There is considerable anxiety afoot, as EU security elements begin bolstering the internal police force of Moldova. It appears their concern is widespread unrest could follow the election results. Why would the official government of Moldovan President Maia Sandu be concerned about post-election turmoil?

 

Well, consider that Maia Sandu’s election last year was not won by a vote of the majority of Moldovan’s who physically reside in Moldova, but by a reported half-million mail-in ballots that tipped the scales in her favor. Those same mail-in ballots also changed the results of the referendum that asked Moldovan citizens if they wanted to join the European Union.

 

The stakes are very high for the EU and NATO alignment. If the Moldova parliamentary election results in a more pro-Russian governing body, the best designed plans of the U.K/NATO/EU and global intelligence apparatus could be significantly damaged.

 

=+Mai Sandu’s Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) is in a tenuous position. Sandu and PAS are globalists, influenced a great deal by European money and promises of affluence==. Their collective opposition within Moldova is an assembly of nationalist voices represented by Patriotic Bloc, a new group of existing pro-Russian opposition parties.

 

Polls have indicated that Sandu’s PAS is likely to lose the parliamentary election, but the European Union cannot accept this outcome. Thus, the issue of these mysterious mail-in ballots surfaces again, and that explains why the Moldovan police and EU security forces are preparing for civil unrest.

 

In August, the leaders of France (Macron), Germany (Merz) and Poland (Tusk) visited the capital city of Chisinauto proclaim their support for President Maia Sandu and the pro-EU movement. The trio, also called the ‘coalition of the willing’, represent fierce opposition to Russia’s war in Ukraine.

 

On the economic front Moldovan citizens have been coping with high inflation, energy shortages and have seen little progress in the Sandu pledge to clean up internal bribery and govt corruption. Meanwhile, Sandu has been traveling around Europe and Great Britain seeking financial support that can deflect some of the economic issues.

 

The election next weekend represents a critical inflection point for Europe. If the EU loses the support of the Moldovan parliament, it would be much harder to utilize the Romanian NATO military base for a European war against Russia, a war they have been trying to provoke with increased aggressiveness.

 

Shortly before King Charles orchestrated the second state visit by President Trump, the U.K monarch met with Sandu to express his strategic support against a common enemy, Vladimir Putin (pictured below). However, it can be reasonably argued the majority of the people who live within Moldova do not hold the same opinion. They do not want war with Russia.

 

Russian President Vladimir Putin is watching this unfold, while hearing from the pro-Russian elements who live within the Moldavian region known as Transnistria. Indeed, much like the Donbas and eastern Ukraine region where western forces within Ukraine attacked the Russian enclaves, there are indications of the same dynamic within eastern Moldova.

 

If the EU security services think they will lose the election in Moldova, Sandu will cancel it.

James Webb Space Telescope reveals dark beads and lopsided star patterns in Saturn's atmosphere

A study of Saturn's atmospheric structure using data from the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) has revealed complex and mysterious features unseen before on any planet in our Solar System.

The results were presented last week by Professor Tom Stallard of Northumbria University, at the EPSC-DPS2025 Joint Meeting in Helsinki.

“This opportunity to use JWST was the first time we have ever been able to make such detailed near-infrared observations of Saturn's aurora and upper atmosphere.

The results came as a complete surprise,” said Professor Stallard.

 

“We anticipated seeing emissions in broad bands at the various levels. Instead, we’ve seen fine-scaled patterns of beads and stars that, despite being separated by huge distances in altitude, may somehow be interconnected – and may also be linked to the famous hexagon deeper in Saturn’s clouds.

These features were completely unexpected and, at present, are completely unexplained.”

 

The international team of researchers, comprising 23 scientists from institutions across the UK, US and France, made the discoveries during a continuous 10-hour observation period on 29 November 2024, as Saturn rotated beneath JWST's view.

The team focused on detecting infrared emissions by a positively charged molecular form of hydrogen, H3+, which plays a key role in reactions in Saturn’s atmosphere and so can provide valuable insights into the chemical and physical processes at work.

JWST’s Near Infrared Spectrograph allowed the team to simultaneously observe H₃⁺ ions from the ionosphere, 1,100 kilometres above Saturn’s nominal surface, and methane molecules in the underlying stratosphere, at an altitude of 600 kilometres.

 

In the electrically charged plasma of the ionosphere, the team observed a series of dark, bead-like features embedded in bright auroral halos.

These structures remained stable over hours but appeared to drift slowly over longer periods.

 

Around 500 kilometres lower, in Saturn’s stratosphere, the team discovered an asymmetric star-shaped feature.

This unusual structure extended out from Saturn's north pole towards the equator. Only four of the star’s six arms were visible, with two mysteriously missing, creating a lopsided pattern.

 

“Saturn's upper atmosphere has proven incredibly difficult to study with missions and telescope facilities to date due to the extremely weak emissions from this region,” said Professor Stallard.

“JWST's incredible sensitivity has revolutionised our ability to observe these atmospheric layers, revealing structures that are completely unlike anything we've seen before on any planet.”

 

The team mapped the exact locations of the features and found that they overlaid the same region of Saturn at different levels, with the star’s arms appearing to emanate from positions directly above the points of the storm-cloud-level hexagon.

This suggests that the processes that are driving the patterns may influence a column stretching right through Saturn’s atmosphere.

 

“We think that the dark beads may result from complex interactions between Saturn's magnetosphere and its rotating atmosphere, potentially providing new insights into the energy exchange that drives Saturn's aurora.

The asymmetric star pattern suggests previously unknown atmospheric processes operating in Saturn's stratosphere, possibly linked to the hexagonal storm pattern observed deeper in Saturn's atmosphere,” said Professor Stallard.

 

“Tantalisingly, the darkest beads in the ionosphere appear to line up with the strongest star-arm in the stratosphere, but it’s not clear at this point whether they are actually linked or whether it’s just a coincidence.”

While both features could have significant implications for understanding atmospheric dynamics on gas giant planets, more work is needed to provide explanations for the underlying causes.

 

The team hopes that additional time may be granted in future to carry out follow-up observations of Saturn with JWST to further explore the features.

With the planet at its equinox, which occurs approximately every 15 Earth years, the structures may change dramatically as Saturn's orientation to the Sun shifts and the northern hemisphere moves into autumn.

"Since neither atmospheric layer can be observed using ground-based telescopes, the need for JWST follow-up observations during this key time of seasonal change on Saturn is pressing," Stallard added.

The accompanying story was irresistible: Isabella Tapia, a Maya woman from Chiapas, barefoot on her ancestral land, had just been selected as Mexico’s first Indigenous astronaut candidate.

 

Within hours, the AI-generated image and the unsubstantiated narrative had been shared thousands of times across Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok.

Comments poured in from across Latin America—words of pride, inspiration, and hope. Indigenous youth tagged their friends. Parents shared it with their children. The story touched something deep in the collective imagination.

But Isabella Tapia doesn’t exist—at least not as a single person. Unless an official announcement comes forward with a real photo, we’re betting Isabella Tapia is a composite character, representing the aspirations of countless Indigenous youth across Mexico and the potential that remains largely untapped in the country’s emerging space program.

 

Why the Story Resonated

The viral response to Isabella’s fictional journey reveals a profound hunger for representation in space exploration.

While Mexico has produced several notable astronauts, none have been Indigenous—a significant gap given that Indigenous peoples make up approximately 10% of Mexico’s population.

 

In Chiapas, where Isabella’s story was set, education levels for indigenous women are extremely low—most only go to school for an average of 6 years.

While an estimated 10% of the population of Mexico is indigenous, it is the least represented in higher education… only between 1% and 3% of higher education enrollment in Mexico is indigenous.

 

Isabella’s fictional achievement represents not just individual triumph, but a reimagining of what’s possible.

The story struck a chord because it offered hope in the face of real challenges. As one viral tweet put it: “Whether or not Isabella is real, the girls who see this and start studying physics tonight are very real.”

Rodolfo Neri Vela: The Trailblazer

Rodolfo Neri Vela (born February 19, 1952, Chilpancingo, Guerrero estado (state), Mexico) is a Mexican scientist and engineer, and he was the first Mexican citizen to fly into space.

Dr. Vela became Mexico’s first astronaut, as a mission specialist for the joint NASA/European Space Agency mission STS-61B on November 27, 1985.

He spent 165 hours in outer space aboard the Space Shuttle Atlantis, helping to place in orbit the Mexican satellite Morelos 2.

 

During the mission the crew deployed the MORELOS-B, AUSSATT II, and SATCOM K-2 communications satellites, conducted two six-hour spacewalks to demonstrate space station construction techniques, and Neri requested tortillas in his food supply on the flight.

Subsequently, NASA began including tortillas on shuttle and ISS missions, since tortillas, unlike regular bread, did not create crumbs and could be used to make sandwiches or hold other food items.

 

Neri Vela’s achievement was monumental for Mexico. He is the second Latin American to have traveled to space after Cuban cosmonaut Arnaldo Tamayo Méndez.

Perhaps even more inspiring is the story of José Moreno Hernández (born August 7, 1962) is a Mexican-American engineer and astronaut… Hernández was on the Space Shuttle mission STS-128 in August 2009.

“I was hoeing a row of sugar beets in a field near Stockton, Calif., and I heard on my transistor radio that Franklin Chang-Diaz had been selected for the Astronaut Corps,” says Hernandez, who was a senior in high school at the time.

His family is originally from La Piedad, Michoacán, Mexico… As a child, Hernández worked alongside his family and other farmworkers throughout the fields of California, harvesting crops and moving from one town to another.

He attended many schools and didn’t learn to speak English until he was 12.

 

After three years and being turned down eleven times for astronaut training by NASA, Hernández was selected in May 2004. His perseverance paid off when he flew aboard Space Shuttle Discovery in 2009.

Hernández is the subject of the 2023 biopic A Million Miles Away in which he is portrayed by Michael Peña.

Katya Echazarreta is the first Mexican woman to make it into space, having flew into suborbital space as a citizen astronaut on June 4 aboard the fifth crewed rocket launched by Blue Origin, founded by Jeff Bezos.

A secret Russian-funded network is attempting to disrupt upcoming democratic elections in an eastern European state, the BBC has found.

Alien CAUGHT Voting Illegally in Federal Elections

A 69-year-old Canadian citizen has been indicted in North Carolina on charges of illegally registering and casting ballots in U.S. federal elections, including the 2024 presidential election.

 

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of North Carolina, Denis Bouchard, a longtime resident of the United States who never obtained citizenship, allegedly lied about his status to secure voter registration in New Hanover and Pender Counties.

 

Federal prosecutors say he voted in both the 2022 congressional elections and the 2024 presidential election.

 

The indictment alleges that Bouchard falsely certified his citizenship on registration forms in multiple election cycles.

 

Prosecutors further suggested he may have been casting ballots in North Carolina elections for decades, raising concerns about the vulnerability of voter rolls.

 

“Every single time a noncitizen casts an illegal vote in North Carolina, it steals and nullifies the vote of an actual citizen,” U.S. Attorney Ellis Boyle said.

 

“If the records are correct, this Canadian citizen appears to have voted in New Hanover and Pender County elections over the past 20 years.”

 

Federal charges include two counts of fraud and false statements regarding naturalization, and two counts of willfully defrauding residents of North Carolina by interfering with the integrity of elections.

 

If convicted, Bouchard faces up to five years in prison for each count.

The celestial equator is an imaginary projection of Earth's equator into space, forming a circle around the sky that divides the northern and southern celestial hemispheres.

The sun's drop across the equator is due to a 23.5° tilt in Earth's rotational axis, which shifts our star's apparent path in the sky as our planet goes about its yearly orbit.

 

We experience two equinoxes each year, one in March and one in September, when the tilt of Earth is such that the sun shines equally on the north and south hemispheres.

During an equinox day and night boast a roughly even 12-hour duration. It is for this characteristic that the name equinox was derived, from the Latin words "aequus" (equal) and "nox" (night).

 

On the day of the 2025 autumnal equinox, the sun rises almost exactly due east and sets to the west.

Australia’s SpIRIT nanosatellite has successfully completed the initial phase of its mission, marking a milestone achievement for Australia’s place and reputation in the global space industry.

Led by the University of Melbourne, in collaboration with the Italian Space Agency (ASI), the Space Industry Responsive Intelligent Thermal nanosatellite – known as ‘SpIRIT’ – is the first space telescope funded by the Australian Space Agency to carry a foreign space agency’s scientific instrument as its main payload.

 

Since its launch aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from California in December 2023, SpIRIT has circled the Earth more than 9,000 times – travelling a distance comparable to a round trip between Earth and Mars – and has been in orbit for over 600 days.

Principal Investigator, University of Melbourne Professor Michele Trenti, said SpIRIT’s successful commissioning period is a true milestone for Australian technological advancements and space capabilities.

“SpIRIT is a complex satellite designed and built in Australia, with many components flying for the first time and hosting a scientific instrument contributed by the Italian Space Agency,” Professor Trenti said.

“Now that SpIRIT has completed rigorous testing in space, we are confident it’s ready to commence the next phase of its mission, which is a truly exciting.”

The completion of the first phase of SpIRIT’s mission was marked with the deployment of its winged thermal management system and selfie stick, which it used to take a ‘selfie’ in space.

The image, beamed back to Earth, showed the nanosatellite crested in emblems of partners who made its mission possible with Australia in view behind it.

SpIRIT’s unique wings, designed by the University of Melbourne, helps keep the space telescope cool and increase science performance.

Now in its final configuration, the spacecraft measures almost a meter in size.

 

Head of the Australian Space Agency Enrico Palermo welcomed the milestone and transition to the next phase of the mission.

“The SpIRIT mission has demonstrated the capability that exists within the Australian space sector – from building the satellite and testing new technologies in orbit and on ground, to hosting international science payloads and successfully completing its initial phase,” Mr Palermo said.

 

“I commend the team, and our colleagues at the Italian Space Agency, on their persistent long-duration operations in space. SpIRIT is a great example of the mutual benefit that comes from collaborating in space.”

“The result confirms the excellence of Italian space science, capable of producing technologically advanced equipment, and at the same time reaffirms the strong strategic value of scientific collaboration between the Italian Space Agency and its Australian counterpart,” said Teodoro Valente, President of the Italian Space Agency.

 

“The SpIRIT satellite carries on board a prototype detector funded by ASI, built entirely in Italy under the guidance of INAF.

The nominal operation of this miniaturized instrument, which has successfully completed the commissioning phase, has been demonstrated by pointing at the Crab gamma pulsar, detected with only 700 seconds of observation.”

Space-Based Nuclear Detection Mission Endures

Roughly 12,550 miles above Earth, a constellation of U.S. global positioning satellites orbits the planet. GPS satellites also carry a sophisticated system designed to detect above ground nuclear detonations anytime, anywhere.

The Global Burst Detection system, developed by Sandia and Los Alamos national laboratories, carries a suite of sensors and instruments capable of identifying signals from nuclear detonations and providing real-time information to the U.S. military and government.

The final system in the current block of eight systems launched into space in May 2025. Meanwhile, the next series, scheduled for initial deployment in 2027, already has several units completed and ready to be integrated with host satellites.

 

This mission has endured for more than 60 years at the Labs. Teams of engineers, scientists and technologists work a decade ahead to develop new complex technologies that can withstand the harsh space environment while countering evolving threats.

"The launch of the final IIIA series Global Burst Detector marks an important milestone in our efforts to enhance nuclear detection capabilities," Sandia manager Andrew Stuart said.

"The collaboration between Sandia National Laboratories and Los Alamos National Laboratory has been key to developing this advanced system, which will significantly contribute to our national security by improving our ability to detect nuclear detonations from space."

 

Marc Kippen, program manager for Space Systems and Science at Los Alamos, said, "The May launch is a testament to the decades of effort that it takes to maintain uninterrupted national security space capability.

Los Alamos National Laboratory is proud to contribute to this important and enduring mission."

 

A space-based deterrent

The Global Burst Detection system serves as part of the space-based component of the U.S. Nuclear Detonation Detection System.

This network of satellites, sensors and ground stations can detect, time-stamp and record electromagnetic pulse energy in specific bands, and X-ray and optical signals.

This information helps the U.S. Air Force precisely determine the location, time and yield of a nuclear detonation.

 

Funded by NNSA, the sensors undergo rigorous testing and mission assurance processes to ensure they perform reliably during their 15-plus-year mission.

Sandia performs a series of qualification tests, including shock, thermal, thermal vacuum, vibration and prompt X-ray tests, to demonstrate the system's ability to survive launch, deployment and operation in space.

Sandia and Los Alamos design and produce the system's five subsystems, with Sandia integrating them into a complete detection system.

 

The final of the IIIA series

The last IIIA series Global Burst Detector launched into space from Cape Canaveral on May 30. Teams from Sandia, Los Alamos and the U.S. Space Force calibrated the system in June and conducted early on-orbit testing to verify functionality.

For the final phase, the team will share the configuration and setting information with the U.S. Nuclear Detonation Detection System team for integration into the current satellite network.

 

Delivering the next generation

In 2024, Sandia and Los Alamos delivered the first two flight systems for the next generation of detectors, the IIIF, to Lockheed Martin for installation on GPS satellites. The first unit is scheduled to launch in 2027.

Teams from Sandia and Los Alamos worked together for 12 years to design and qualify the new system.

 

A key component of the IIIF series, the Spectral Imaging Geolocation Hyper-Temporal Sensor, or SIGHTS, has roots in Sandia's Laboratory Directed Research and Development program.

More than a decade ago, researchers conducted basic science to push the boundaries of remote sensing. That work laid the foundation for a new megapixel-density optical sensor, capable of capturing tens of thousands of frames per second.

This enables the sensor to better differentiate between legitimate signals and false positives.

 

Over the next decade, Sandia and Los Alamos plan to deliver, integrate and launch more IIIF Global Burst Detector systems to continue the mission.

The Daily Mail asked right-wing provocateur Candace Owens on Thursday to share details of her relationship with Charlie Kirk, and whether or not she planned to attend or speak at his memorial service in Arizona on Sunday.

 

Owens alleged earlier this week that billionaire Bill Ackman was angered by Kirk's souring views on Israel and that 'threats were made,' by Ackman weeks before Kirk's death - a story that has triggered fierce backlash and fueled an online rumor mill of conspiracy theories, including that Israel was somehow responsible for Kirk's death.

 

The rumors got so pervasive that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had to directly deny them on two separate occasions.

 

Instead of answering the questions via her spokesperson in an email - something previously done by her team just this week - Owens answered, going live on her show Thursday evening, airing an email from the Daily Mail with our request for comment.

 

The answers were even more compelling than we may have originally hoped.

 

'This is what we got from Daily Mail,' Owens said, before kicking off her riff.

 

While answering the Daily Mail's questions, Owens revealed, 'You're right, you got me.'

 

'I was not invited to speak alongside President Trump, and JD Vance, on the stage with Tucker Carlson at a memorial event.'

 

'Erika is in full control … I would hope she's in full control, but I don't know because I've been hearing some stories about donors that are pushing things,' Owens also remarked, seemingly disclosing how far removed she is from the planning of Kirk's memorial.

 

Yet, a few moments later, Owens claimed 'Charlie and I never, for a second, stopped being friends. Ever. Never happened… They can't produce one shred of evidence to that effect.'

 

Eric Bolling, a former Fox News host, said on an episode of the Patrick Bet David Podcast streamed Wednesday thatKirk had a 'quiet break up' with Candace Owens after she got too 'down the rabbit hole for him.'

 

'There hasn't been a communication pipeline between the two for many years,' Bolling also stated.

 

A spokesman for Candace Owens told the Daily Mail on Wednesdaythat Bolling 'is flat-out lying.'

 

'The reason that they're doing this is because they want us to stop investigating the death of Charlie Kirk.I am convinced that this is a full-blown fed operation' Owens added.

 

During another part of her Thursday episode, Owens said that from what she understands, Kirk's memorial is 'being controlled by the White House' and that 'Trump is controlled by Zionists.'

 

'Why would I be invited by anyone in Trump's Zionist administration, as I am speaking about the topics that I am speaking… It's common sense they're not going to allow me to share the stage,' Owens added.

 

Daily Mail has reached out to Turning Point USA and the White House for additional comments on Owen's remarks.

 

Then Owens once more tried to pitch the speaking roster for Kirk's memorial as ultra exclusive, noting that she was not 'one of the five people' speaking Sunday.

 

Sunday's lineup of speakers is much larger than five people.

 

Per a graphic posted on the Turning Point USA X account Wednesday, Sunday's lineup includes President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, Kirk's widow Mrs. Erika Kirk, White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, Donald Trump Jr., Tucker Carlson, Stephen Miller, and Sergio Gor.

 

Kennedy Jr., Gabbard, and White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt addressed a packed concert hall at the John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts last Sunday, as Kirk's supporters from Washington DC and the surrounding states came together to pay their respects to the slain conservative commentator and Turning Point USA founder who was assassinated last week at a speaking event on the campus of Utah Valley University.

 

The venue for this Sunday's memorial service in Arizona is the State Farm Stadium in Glendale Arizona, home of the Arizona Cardinals NFL football team, with a capacity of over 63,000.

 

Turning Point USA media personality and host of the Culture Apothecary podcast Alex Clark shared on X Thursday that over 85,000 people had registered to attend.

How to Respond to Donald Trump’s Threats to the Anti-Fascist Movement

 

While Donald Trump has announced on his social network that the “antifa” movement is now considered a “terrorist organization,” we offer you a translation of the text “Make Ready: Safeguarding Our Movements against Repression – How to Respond to Donald Trump’s Threats, published on September 18 on Crimethinc.com, which puts this statement in context, and then gives some advice not to panic. While Marine Le Pen, in 2017, already called for the dissolution of all “antifail militias,” and the rise to the power of the RN is no longer a chimera, this text, if it is rooted in American reality, is also instructive for us.

 

On September 17, in a post on Truth Social, Donald Trump said he would refer to “Antifa” as “a major terrorist organization.” What does this mean? How can we prepare for the storm?

 

It is always hard to know how much Trump’s performative statements should be taken seriously. He often makes delusional statements to test their impact on his audience: he throws ideas in the air to see what makes the nas a tide, and then he stumbles where there is no backlash.

But this time, his administration follows to the letter the classic manual of fascism. One of his supporters even went so far as to declare, without irony, that Charlie Kirk’s assassination was “the burning of the American Reichstag.”

The next step in this textbook is obvious: to broaden its targets, from immigrants to anarchists, to leftists, and ultimately extending to all opponents of the regime.

So yes, in the past, Trump has already made statements in which he referred to “antifa” as a “terrorist organization,” especially at the beginning of the revolt that followed the murder of George Floyd.

But at the time, the rest of the federal government was largely holding back its impulsiveness [1], while today, the entire federal executive is made up of zealous servants who are unable to distinguish their own interests from those of Trump.

Admittedly, there is no law that allows the president to designate internal terrorist organizations. But even without new legislation or new executive order, Trump has direct control over the Department of Justice, the Department of Homeland Security, the FBI, and other federal agencies. What he posts on social media is likely to indicate what he will soon order his subordinates.

The fact that “Antifa” does not refer to an organization in itself, but rather a fuzzy category that can include almost any opposition to its authoritarian agenda, makes it a very practical term for Trump [2]. It means that no matter who you are or what you do, you too could become a target.

 

While there is no designation of an “inner terrorist organization” at present (and there is no obvious mechanism for creating one), far-right prosecutors are already accustomed to making unfounded accusations of terrorism, to intimidate activists and social movement participants. Trump has explicitly called for the use of the RICO law [3]to repress its detractors. Some Republican senators are already supporting a bill that would add riots to the list of offences prosecuted under the RICO law.

There are precedents for what might happen: for example, two years ago, a large number of people in Atlanta, Georgia, were randomly charged under the RICO law for their involvement in the Stop Cop City movement.

 

Trials were repeatedly postponed, and less than a week ago, a judge finally rejected the majority of the charges for procedural defects4.

It remains to be seen to what extent the administration will actually carry out Trump’s threats, and whether it will begin by tackling core groups or acting in a top-down manner, targeting large liberal institutions and financing platforms.

In any case, our long-term future will depend on our ability to enable a large number of people to act in solidarity, by adopting forms of direct action at the grass-roots level, which can be effective even if the people in power refuse to listen.

Oregon Appears Not To Hold Moment Of Silence For Charlie Kirk, But Dan Lanning Honored Him Plenty This Week

Charlie Kirk was remembered at Oregon in other ways.

The world is still processing the assassination of Charlie Kirk last week, with several professional teams paying their respects to the former conservative activist.

 

NFL franchises have honored him in different ways, including the Buffalo Bills, who held a moment of silence during their Thursday night game against the Miami Dolphins. Many then wondered if the Oregon Ducks—Kirk’s favorite college football team—would do the same on Saturday.

 

It’s become clear that, due to a family connection, Kirk was an Oregon fan, thanks to family members attending the school, according to Kirk himself.

 

Though they weren't obligated to honor him, it certainly would’ve been a nice gesture by the Oregon Ducks, given the fact that Kirk was clearly an avid fan.

 

But OutKick could not find anything on social media related to the Ducks honoring Charlie Kirk prior to the game or during halftime.

 

On the other hand, head coach Dan Lanning made his thoughts perfectly clear this past week, multiple times.

 

Lanning addressed Kirk’s death several times, stressing that no one should lose his or her life for expressing an opinion.

 

"I've spoken on stuff like this before, it probably just hasn't garnered the attention before," Lanning noted.

 

"After the Utah game in 2022 we're dealing with school shootings in the world, it just makes me sick.I feel like when you have an opportunity to have a voice, shame on you if you don't use it. I do think there is a lot people can learn from our locker room.

 

"So, whether it's an assassination attempt, school shooting, we've got a problem just respecting the human life in this world. It bothers me, right.

 

Especially as a guy with three young kids. It's just a little nerve wracking that we don't respect human life, regardless of who it is, it's wrong. Murder is wrong in every way and I think when you get a chance to speak on it, you need to”.

 

Oregon Doesn’t Hold Moment Of Silence, But Lanning's Words Were Enough

 

The Ducks ultimately did not hold a pregame moment of silence before their rivalry game against Oregon State. Still, it was clear that Lanning became the program’s voice on the tragedy, speaking directly about the broader issue of violence.

 

Some may have been disappointed by the lack of a formal pre-game gesture, but when the head coach—the face of the program—speaks candidly about such an incident, that in itself can be enough.

 

OutKick did reach out to Oregon multiple times this week to see if it had anything planned, and did not hear back from the Ducks athletic department.

 

Even so, there have been vigils across the state over the past two weeks, with students organizing their own services in Kirk’s memory. And for many fans, simply tuning into Oregon’s game on Saturday may have been their personal way of honoring him.

He says churches using the 501c3 status made a deal with the devil but his Omega Kingdom Ministries isn't considered a church so I assume it's ok that it's a 501c3.
