Corruption consumes Kiev: Energy extortion scandal fallout Live Updates

 

Vladimir Zelensky’s closest circle is the target of anger and questioning over a $100 million racket allegedly run by his former business partner, who is said to have fled to Israel

 

The $100 million energy sector extortion racket reportedly run by Vladimir Zelensky’s former business partner is taking down key figures in his government and exposing his closest inner circle to extreme public anger.

 

The graft scandal kicked off last week, after the Western-backed National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) announced a probe into a “high-level criminal organization” allegedly led by Zelensky’s former business associate, Timur Mindich, who immediately fled the country. The affair has hit the country’s energy sector, prompting Justice Minister German Galushchenko and Energy Minister Svetlana Grinchuk to resign.

 

Other high-profile individuals implicated in the scandal include Zelensky’s chief-of-staff Andrey Yermak, former defense minister and current head of the National Security Council, Rustem Umerov, as well as former Deputy PM Aleksey Chernyshov.

Ukraine is bound to end up with an “interim government” that will strike a peace deal with Russia to end the hostilities, Ukrainian MP Anna Skorokhod has said, speaking to a Ukrainian YouTube channel. Demands that Zelensky’s top aide Yermak be fired are about the survival and “self-preservation” of the Ukrainian leader, she suggested.

 

“We’ll have an interim government, “anti-crisis,” “anti-corruption,” call it whatever you like, a government for several months that will ready the country for elections, conclude negotiations, and sign a peace agreement,” Skorokhod has stated.

Ukraine’s cabinet has tapped Lyudmila Slugak as interim Justice Minister to replace departed German Galushchenko, having previously served as his deputy with responsibility for “issues of Eurointegration.”

Ukrainian officials embezzled at least $4.7 million in goods and services related to Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP), which is now controlled by Russia, Kiev lawmaker Vladimir Ariev has claimed. Moscow overtook the running of the plant, Europe’s largest, in March 2022, but that did not stop procurements for the facility through Ukraine’s Energoatom, the state-owned company at the epicenter of the ongoing graft scandal.

 

Purchases listed as being for the plant continued until late August 2022.

 

The MP had previously suggested that even larger figures were involved, claiming Energoatom raked in some $9.5 million in procurements for ZNPP.

Faction leader of Zelensky’s Servant of the People party, David Arakhamia, has downplayed an open letter being circulated by a fellow party member, dismissing it as a private opinion. The letter, backed by an unspecified number of the ruling party’s lawmakers, declared support for the opposition and demanded the dismissal of the government and all officials implicated in the corruption scandal.

 

“This is a statement by individual members of parliament, and they have the right to do so. However, I would like to point out that it should not be taken as the position of the entire faction. Since neither the faction nor the party has ever made such statements,” Arakhamia stated.

Larry Summers Resigns From OpenAI Board; Harvard Launches Investigation After Epstein Revelations

 

Former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers has resigned from the board of OpenAI following the release of messages in which Summers was asking Jeffrey Epstein for dating advice to try and bed a female mentee whose father was a former CCP official.

 

On Monday Summers announced that he would be stepping back from all public commitments - and while he said he would continue to teach at Harvard, his office appeared to be gone Monday evening.

 

"In line with my announcement to step away from my public commitments, I have also decided to resign from the board of OpenAI," Summers told Axios. "I am grateful for the opportunity to have served, excited about the potential of the company and look forward to following their progress."

 

Over 20,000 documents were released last week by the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee from Epstein's estate.

 

Summers, a known longtime associate of Epstein, joined the board of OpenAI in 2023 during a brief period in which CEO Sam Altman was ousted from the company - only to return days later. Summers was appointed alongside Bret Taylor, former Salesforce CEO, and Quora CEO Adam D'Angelo - the only member of OpenAI's initial board who still had a seat.

 

In a statement, OpenAI said "Larry has decided to resign from the OpenAI Board of Directors, and we respect his decision. We appreciate his many contributions and the perspective he brought to the Board."

 

Meanwhile, the Economic Club of New York postponed a discussion with Summers this week, hours after the Crimson published its article - telling FT that it was "postponed due to an unavoidable change in schedule.

 

Harvard Investigates

According to the Harvard Crimson, the University will launch a new investigation into its ties to Epstein following the Summers scandal. The university had already conducted an investigation in 2020, in which they found that Epstein donated $9,179,000 across 22 'gifts', including a $736,000 donation after his 2006 arrest but before his 2008 conviction for sex trafficking a minor.

 

Epstein was also a Visiting Fellow in the Psychology Department in the 2005-2006 academic year despite lacking academic qualifications typically possessed by Visiting Fellows.

NATO Scrambles Jets Amid One Of Deadliest Russian Attacks On Western Ukraine

 

Russia overnight carried out its typical aerial and drone strikes on Ukraine, but this time escalated attacks in Ukraine's West, which apparently were close enough to the border to cause alarm in nearby Poland and Romania.

 

The two NATO member countries scrambled jet fighters in response amid the massive Russian and drone and missile strikes which killed at least 25 people, some of which were reported as children.

 

Romania's defense ministry said that during the attacks on Ukraine a Russian drone entered its sovereign airspace. Its military then scrambled two Eurofighters which are part of NATO's fleet. An additional pair of Romanian F-16s were also sent.

 

Simultaneously, Polish jets were launched to protect Polish airspace on Wednesday morning. "In connection with the attack by the Russian Federation carrying out strikes on facilities located on the territory of Ukraine, Polish and allied aviation is operating in our airspace," Poland's military announced. All of this caused some regional commercial airport closures:

 

Poland temporarily shut down two airports in its southeast, Rzeszow and Lublin, the Polish Civil Aviation Authority said.

The air hubs were closed to provide freedom for warplanes, the regulator explained.

Russian strikes also focused on Kharkiv, resulting in dozens injured, in the overnight hours. These eastern strikes have become frequent, but large-scale attacks on Western Ukraine are much more rare.

Here we go again: the Trump administration is desperately seeking to revive the peace effort in Ukraine, this time coming up with a 28-point plan which is modeled off the so far successful Gaza ceasefire.

 

The US is said to have been quietly working with Moscow on a new initiative to end the war in Ukraine. It's being called a 'secret' plan and effort, according to Axios. It has led to a series of behind-the-scenes meetings and draft plans as Washington explores what conditions might allow for a political settlement.

 

The 28-point framework is organized around four major themes: securing peace in Ukraine, establishing security guarantees, addressing broader European security concerns, and defining the future of US relations with both Russia and Ukraine. An important highlight is that the talks are taking place without Ukraine or Europe at the table.

 

A senior Kremlin official cited in Axios said he was "optimistic" about the plan’s prospects, arguing that it aligns more closely with Moscow's views than previous diplomatic efforts.

 

But is control of land or territorial concessions to be resolved? It's unclear whether the secret plan tackles this head on, but if Russian officials are warming to the 28-point plan, then it likely touches on this.

 

Trump's envoy, Steve Witkoff, has been overseeing the drafting process and has held extensive discussions with Russian negotiator Kirill Dmitriev, the head of Russia’s sovereign wealth fund and and top Putin representative in talks.

 

Dmitriev revealed to Axios he spent Oct. 24–26 in Miami in intensive talks with Witkoff and Trump advisers. Crucially he said that for the first time "we feel the Russian position is really being heard."

 

Zelensky’s national security adviser, Rustem Umerov, has also been quoted as saying "We know the Americans are working on something." This remark came as a planned meeting in Istanbul involving Witkoff, President Zelensky, and hosted by Erdogan on Wednesday has been altered. US Army representatives will reportedly be involved, and will meet with Zelensky, likely to pitch the new 28-point plan and brief him on progress.

 

Further interesting is that White House official told Axios Trump believes the war could "if flexibility is shown," adding: "The president has been clear that it is time to stop the killing and reach a deal to end the war."

 

Ukraine supporters are already vehemently complaining the talks are taking place secretly and without Kiev's direct involvement or input…

The “hasty US-Russia proposal” effectively amounts to “Ukraine’s capitulation” Christopher Miller wrote on X, claiming the scheme involves Kiev surrendering “certain weapons” and withdrawing from Donbass, as well as having its “army cut in half.”

US secretly drafting new Ukraine peace plan with Russian input – Axios

The US is secretly working on a new proposal to end the Ukraine conflict, Axios reported on Tuesday. The draft was reportedly prepared in close consultation with Moscow and has already been floated to Kiev and its European backers.

According to the outlet, the 28-point document draws on principles discussed by US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin at their meeting in Alaska in August.

Senior Russian negotiator Kirill Dmitriev told Axios that he spent three days reviewing the idea with Trump’s envoy Steve Witkoff during his late-October visit to the US.

 

“We think the timing is good for this plan now,” a US official familiar with the matter told Axios. “But both parties need to be practical and realistic.”

Commenting on the report on Wednesday, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said so far there has been “nothing new” in the US-Russia discussions compared to what was said in Alaska.

Witkoff reportedly reviewed the draft document this week with Rustem Umerov, the secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council.

 

Umerov left Ukraine amid a widening corruption scandal involving Timur Mindich, a longtime associate of Vladimir Zelensky who has been charged with running a kickback scheme involving a state-run nuclear power company.

Ukrainian media have claimed that Umerov, whose family resides in the US, has refused to return to Kiev following reports that he was influenced by Mindich during his tenure as defense minister.

Witkoff is expected to meet Zelensky in Türkiye on Wednesday.

 

According to The Economist’s Oliver Carroll, the US envoy canceled a planned meeting with Zelensky’s chief of staff, Andrey Yermak, after realizing the political pressure Zelensky faces to dismiss him, as Yermak is widely suspected of involvement in the Mindich network.

“Witkoff might not have been aware of the scandal he was walking into when agreeing the meeting,” Carroll wrote on X.

Moscow has insisted that any lasting settlement to the Ukraine conflict must address its fundamental security demands.

Dmitriev told Axios he was cautiously optimistic about the new US proposal, saying “we feel the Russian position is really being heard.”

“We attach immense importance to our capability here, both defensive and offensive,” Netanyahu told the troops during his visit, adding that the purpose includes “safeguarding our Druze allies, and especially safeguarding the State of Israel and its northern border opposite the Golan Heights.”

 

“This is a mission that can develop at any moment, but we are counting on you,” he said.

 

Reacting to the visit, Syria said it “condemns [it] in the strongest terms,” calling it “illegal,” and saying it considers the IDF deployment in the south of the country “a serious violation of Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.”

House Oversight Chairman James Comer on Tuesday issued subpoenas to J.P. Morgan and Deutsche Bank for the financial records of the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein as part of an investigation into the government's probe of Epstein.

 

The House Oversight Committee is currently investigating whether the federal government botched its probe into Epstein and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell. Maxwell is serving a 20-year prison sentence for sex-trafficking and other charges related to the late-financier, who died in prison in 2019.

 

Comer is also requesting U.S. Virgin Islands Attorney General Gordon Rhea provide documents to further the investigation, including all documents referring to any federal or local criminal investigation or potential criminal investigation of Epstein or Maxwell.

 

"It is imperative that Congress conduct oversight of the federal government’s enforcement of sex trafficking laws generally and, specifically, its handling of the investigation and prosecution of Mr. Epstein and Ms. Maxwell," Comer wrote in a letter to Rhea. "The Committee may use the results of this investigation to inform legislative solutions to improve federal efforts to combat sex trafficking and reform the use of non-prosecution agreements and/or plea agreements in sex-crime investigations.

 

"Additionally, the Committee is assessing possible legislation aimed at bolstering or otherwise amending laws aimed at ethics disclosures for elected officials," he added.

 

Comer requested Rhea provide all documents to the committee by Dec. 2.

New details are surfacing about Larry Summers' relationship with the late Jeffrey Epstein, including a favor Summers requested in support of his wife’s work.

 

The former Treasury secretary and Harvard president met his wife, Harvard professor Elisa New, through a colleague at the university. During a February 2021 conversation with the Harvard Independent, New shared that she and Summers are very different, saying, "Larry is an extrovert and I’m an introvert; he likes sports and competition and I do not."

 

"We are in many ways a dramatic illustration of how opposites attract," she said, before going on to explain how they found common ground. "Larry and I are both really passionate about the work we do. We both work long hours and have big goals and we support each other in those."

 

More recently, the pair made headlines when Summers announced on Nov. 17 that he would be stepping back from his public commitments following the release of emails between him and Epstein, which revealed that the former university president had sought romantic advice from the convicted sex offender over the years, per The New York Times. Israeli press trying to throw shade on execution and torture of prisoners

 

Why did almost 100 Palestinian detainees reportedly die in Israeli custody?

 

The Israeli government doesn't dispute the number of prison deaths but disputes the claim that detainees were dying due to illegal beatings and other actions by Israeli prison guards.

 

On Monday, the nonprofit organization, Physicians for Human Rights in Israel (PHRI), published a report that said that around 98 Palestinian detainees had died in Israeli custody.

 

Israel does not dispute these numbers, but it does dispute the PHRI’s characterization of the detainees dying due to illegal beatings and other alleged actions by Israeli prison guards.

 

NGO Monitor depicts Physicians for Human Rights–Israel as a heavily foreign-funded, politicized NGO that, under a medical-rights guise, advances anti-Israel lawfare and apartheid narratives while issuing what critics call biased and methodologically flawed reports.

 

The Jerusalem Post has been able to verify multiple elements of these details independently.

 

Over 50 of the Palestinian detainees died in IDF custody, while over 40 of them died in Israel Prison Service custody.

 

Around 60 people died in the first six or so months between October 2023 and April-May 2024. Then, in Spring 2024, the Military Advocate General’s Corps and the Supreme Court became more involved in the issue. After their involvement, around 30 people died over the next 15 plus months, a significant drop in deaths, though far from an end to the problem.

While close to 70 of the detainees were Gazans, over 25 were West Bank Palestinians, not explicitly linked to the war with Hamas; the PHRI estimates only one-third of the total were connected to the terrorist organization.

 

However, the IDF would note that many Gazans who were not affiliated with Hamas fought the IDF regardless.

 

If it wants to rebut the PHRI’s and others’ allegations of widespread prisoner abuse, part of addressing this issue of cause-of-death requires more of the IDF’s side of the story.

 

IDF has indicted one soldier in February for repeatedly beating Palestinians

To date, the military’s legal establishment has indicted and convicted one soldier in February for repeatedly beating Palestinians in a “small Sde Teiman" case, but not for any killings. It also indicted five other soldiers in the more well-known “large Sde Teiman case” for both allegedly beating and sexually assaulting a detainee, though that detainee survived.

The Jerusalem Post has learned that at least one other case was thoroughly investigated and closed rather than resulting in an indictment. However, no details regarding that case have been made public.

 

Why hasn’t the IDF published its findings regarding the other detainees?

 

The Post can now reveal that in July 2024, top IDF legal officials informed it that there was an extreme delay in being able to decide on the Sde Teiman and other Palestinian detainee death probes because the L. Greenberg Institute of Forensic Medicine at Abu Kabir was overwhelmed with work related to October 7. It was preoccupied with cases related to the victims of the massacre, post-October deaths related to IDF soldiers, and Palestinians from the battlefield.

 

Further, those same officials told the Post at the time that most of the Palestinian detainees who died were either fatally wounded on the battlefield and brought back to military installations partially to see if they could be saved, or had preexisting medical conditions that Israeli doctors were unaware of, leading to unintentional deaths.

 

Those officials said back then that they hoped they could progress faster in cases of detainees who came to Sde Teiman fully healthy, and only later were wounded or died.

However, even with these cases, the IDF’s legal division said it was facing a massive delay in receiving professional medical opinions regarding injuries or the cause of death.For example, was death caused by strangulation, a series of blows to the body, or a heart attack?

 

The state medical forensics institute has been overwhelmed in trying to address all of these questions since October 7, and the depressing, unprecedented volume of work has decimated staff just as the Military Advocate General’s Corps was growing to try to keep up with the war.

As an example of delay, regarding one soldier who committed suicide, it took around seven to eight months to get a medical opinion.

Google already sent law enforcement to a man's house for what it determined was CSAM, but in reality was images of his son that were requested and sent to the boy's doctor for legitimate medical purposes. The guy spent tens of thousands of dollars defending himself from criminal charges, and to this day is banned permanently from Google services like Gmail.

According to the Harvard Independent, then-president Summers and New were introduced by two fellow professors from the Economics department — Natasha Lance-Rogoff and Ken Rogoff — in the fall of 2001.

 

New told the outlet that she had bumped into Lance-Rogoff, who told her she would find Summers "funny and irreverent," as New recalled to the outlet in February 2021. They both had recently separated (and eventually divorced) from their previous spouses in the last few months, and were both parents of three.

According to the outlet, a nonprofit linked to Epstein donated $110,000 to New's nonprofit — which develops video content about poetry — in 2016, according to tax records.

 

The exchange between Summers and Epstein led to outrage among campus, with one professor telling The Harvard Crimson that their "cozy friendship" on display in the emails — which spanned from 2013 through 2019, the year Epstein died — is "disgusting and disgraceful."

 

More emails between the two surfaced in November 2025, including some in which Summers sought romantic advice from Epstein. In response, Summers announced on Nov. 17 that he would step back from public engagements, though continue to teach at Harvard.

According to the Mossad, coordinated raids in Austria and Germany resulted in arrests and the seizure of weapons and explosives intended for use “on command.”

 

The Mossad on Wednesday exposed a network of Hamas terror infrastructure in multiple European countries and revealed a prolonged investigation it had conducted with European intelligence and law enforcement to thwart planned attacks against Israeli and Jewish targets.

 

Although the announcement was made on Wednesday, the Mossad said that it helped European authorities identify Mahmoud Naim, the son of a top Hamas official and senior adviser to Hamas leader Khalil al-Haya, Bassem Naim, as managing the plot in September.

 

A message from the Mossad said that Mahmoud had met with his father in Qatar to facilitate the plot and that this showed that Hamas was sponsoring the terror plots at its highest levels. Hamas officials in Turkey have also been involved.

 

Mossad disrupted 'dozens' of Hamas terror ops.

Since October 7, the terror organization has accelerated efforts to build cells and logistics in Europe, mirroring the activity of Iran and its proxies. The Mossad said it continues to disrupt “dozens” of various plots worldwide as part of Israel’s overseas counterterrorism mandate.

 

It credited “close, persistent cooperation” with European services for recent breakthroughs and said efforts are ongoing.

“The Mossad, together with its partners in Israel and worldwide, is working relentlessly to thwart attacks against Israeli, Jewish, and other innocent civilians across the globe,” the statement said.

 

Recent arrests of Hamas members across Europe

Austrian state security (DSN) in Vienna uncovered and confiscated a weapons stash in September that included handguns and explosive materials, leading to the detention and questioning of suspects tied to a Hamas cell. Local reporting later detailed the discovery of a Hamas-linked cache in the city and a related arrest in London.

European partners have expanded cooperation with Israel’s services while also tightening legal measures against Hamas-linked incitement and financing networks, the Mossad stated. In Germany, recent prosecutions and raids have targeted alleged Hamas operatives and supporters, reflecting a broader shift to curtail extremist infrastructure across the continent.

Israel rape crisis centers report 51,000 cases as ministries withhold key data

The Association of Rape Crisis Centers in Israel (ARCCI) received over 51,000 queries in 2024, according to its annual report released Wednesday, yet, it was unable to provide a full accounting of how the state handles sexual offense cases due to several government ministries’ refusal to share data they are legally obligated to provide, a situation that directly impacts the public and the fight against sexual violence.

 

The date of this report’s publication is significant, as it precedes the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women on November 25. This global observance, established by the United Nations in 1999, is a crucial moment for governments and civil society groups to release data, run campaigns, and push for legislative reforms in the fight against gender-based violence.

 

The ARCCI serves as the national umbrella organization for rape crisis centers across Israel and compiles an extensive annual dataset that typically draws on information from law enforcement agencies, courts, ministries, and the IDF.

 

This year, however, the Israel Police, the State Attorney’s Office, the Israel Prison Service, the Education Ministry, the Welfare and Social Affairs Ministry, and the IDF all withheld key information, the report noted.

 

The organization said the decision violates statutory obligations and breaks sharply with previous years, when these bodies consistently provided detailed figures on investigations, indictments, sentencing, and institutional responses.

Russia destroys Ukrainian US-made missile launchers – MOD

Russian forces destroyed two Ukrainian US-made missile launchers shortly after they fired a salvo of long-range ATACMS at the city of Voronezh, the Defense Ministry in Moscow has said.

Officials added that all incoming missiles were intercepted. The debris caused some damage on the ground.

 

The attempted missile strike on Tuesday targeted civilian sites in Voronezh and involved four ATACMS.

According to the ministry, all four were downed by Russian combat crews using the S-400 air-defense system and the Pantsir anti-aircraft missile-gun system.

 

Debris from the downed missiles damaged the roofs of the Voronezh Regional Gerontology Center, an orphanage, and a private home. No civilian casualties were reported.

Aerial reconnaissance by the Russian Army located the ATACMS launch site in Ukraine’s Kharkov Region shortly after the attack. Two MLRS launchers were found near the village of Voloskaya Balakleya.

An Iskander-M missile crew struck the position, destroying both launchers, their ammunition, and up to ten personnel, the ministry said. It released photographs of the missile debris.

 

Kiev routinely launches drone raids and missile strikes into Russian territory, targeting critical infrastructure and residential areas in attacks that have caused civilian casualties.

Russian officials have accused Ukraine of “terrorism” over the strikes, and Moscow has conducted retaliatory attacks on Ukrainian military sites, including drone assembly facilities.

The "common theme" throughout the talks was "the importance of repudiating Tucker Carlson, Nick Fuentes and Candace Owens … especially by those in the conservative movement," attendee Tali Goldsheft said on X.

 

"Bari made a point of stating that JD Vance has yet to distance himself from Tucker Carlson, which remains quite disconcerting, to say the least," she added.

 

Elise Stefanik also spoke about "combating anti-Semitism" at the event and attacked Gov. Hochul as well as Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani.

Ukrainian attack results in major blackout in Russian region – authorities

Ukrainian forces have struck two thermal power plants in Russia’s Donetsk People’s Republic in an “unprecedented attack,” leaving nearly two-thirds of residents without electricity and heating, regional head Denis Pushilin said on Tuesday. A state of emergency has been declared in the region.

“At the moment, electricity is cut off for 65% of consumers,” Pushilin said on Telegram after holding an emergency meeting with members of the regional cabinet and relevant agencies. “Boiler facilities and water filtration plants have stopped [operating] as well,” he added.

 

Schools and kindergartens across the region were closed because of the blackout and the lack of heating, Pushilin said, adding that emergency services had been deployed to restore power as soon as possible.

He did not provide any details about the attack itself but said that both power stations suffered certain damage as a result.

 

Kiev’s forces have increased attacks against Russian civilian infrastructure as they gradually lose ground on the front lines.

Kiev has routinely launched drone attacks deep into Russia in recent months, targeting residential areas and leading to civilian casualties.

Russian drone enters Romanian airspace, NATO scrambles F-16 and Eurofighter

During the overnight combined attack by Russian forces on Ukraine, one drone flew 8 km into Romanian territory, prompting the launch of F-16 and Eurofighter jets, Romania's Ministry of National Defense reported.

It is noted that two German Eurofighter Typhoon jets from the Mihail Kogălniceanu air base took off during the night of November 18–19 at 00:25 to monitor the air situation on the border with Ukraine following Russian attacks in the area of Romania.

 

"At 00:20, a Ro-Alert notification was sent out, and within a few minutes a drone signal was detected, which penetrated approximately 8 km into the national airspace (of Romania – ed.) from the area of Vylkove in the direction of Kiliia, where it disappeared from the radars," the Romanian Ministry of National Defense said.

It is also known that the drone was detected on radar for about 12 minutes. The Eurofighter jets landed at 01:50, and the Romanian Air Force F-16 jets returned to the base in Câmpia Turzii around 02:30.

Specialist teams are ready to begin field searches for the drone.

 

Earlier, Poland launched aircraft into the air in connection with Russian attacks on the western regions of Ukraine.

During the combined missile attack on Ukraine on the night of November 19, Russian forces attacked Ternopil. Several multi-story buildings were damaged and partially destroyed there, and rescue operations are ongoing.

 

Russian forces also attacked energy infrastructure in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, with injuries reported as a result of the strikes. Damage to an energy facility and a fire were also recorded in the Lviv region, where explosions were heard during the night.

In Kharkiv, after the overnight Russian attack on November 19, 46 people had already been injured by the morning. Sixteen multi-story buildings, a school, an ambulance station, and other facilities were damaged, and a supermarket was destroyed.

First of all, depending on what they guy took pictures of, it was most likely illegal regardless of whether or not requested by a medical professional. This is just how the current laws are written. Tons of minors get charged with producing CP for taking selfies each year, but it goes quietly under the radar. That is not what the original intent of the law was for, and it needs to be updated. Sadly no politician will ever touch this topic in fear of being labeled by the opposition as "soft on sex crimes". A Democrat got away with colluding with one of the most notorious p*dophiles in American history thanks to some good-old-fashioned backroom politics.

 

As The Gateway Pundit reported, the House of Representatives on Tuesday evening voted against censuring Rep. Stacey Plaskett (D-V.I.) over her collusion with Jeffrey Epstein during a 2019 congressional hearing.

 

Earlier Tuesday, the House voted to advance the measure to censure Plaskett and remove her from the House Intelligence Committee. Then, later that evening, the House voted 214 -209 against censuring Plaskett.

 

Every Democrat voted against the censure, while three Republicans voted present, and three other GOP lawmakers joined the Democrats.

 

Following the vote, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) exposed the nasty backroom deal cut by House leadership on both sides to ensure the vote would fail.

 

It turns out GOP leadership was desperate to avoid having Rep. Cory Mills (R-FL) face not only a censure vote of his own but also an ethics investigation.

 

Mills is facing a restraining order for allegedly threatening to circulate explicit videos of his former girlfriend, Lindsey Langston.

 

Langston claimed in a petition filed in August that NBC News obtained that after they broke up, Mills said he would blackmail her by using nude images and videos. He also allegedly said he would physically harm anyone she dated.

 

“Cory continued to message me on Instagram accounts I run after blocking him and asking him to not contact me. The messages progressively got more threatening over time,” wrote Langston, a Republican state committeewoman and Miss United States 2024.

 

A judge granted her request last month.

 

“The Plaskett censure failed because house leadership exchanged that censure failure for the withdrawal of a vote to censure and refer Cory Mills to house ethics for investigation,” Luna wrote on X.

 

“The swamp protects itself.”

 

She also spoke implicitly about the dirty deal while speaking on the House floor following the vote.

 

“I was wondering if the Speaker of the House of Representatives can explain why leadership on both sides, Democrat and Republican, are cutting backroom deals to cover up public corruption for Republican and Democratic members of Congress,” she said.

 

“I think we all know what happened tonight.”

 

No wonder the average American does not trust the federal government.

Jared Kushner's company invited convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein to a party in 2013 that included a guest list of his father-in-law Donald Trump and producer Harvey Weinstein, who was not a convicted rapist at the time.

 

A trove of documents released by the House Oversight Committee last week includes a screenshot of an email invite to Epstein, who had already served a 13-month prison sentence for child sex crimes at the time of the event.

 

The revelation comes as journalists review the thousands of pages of documents and as Congress prepares to vote on releasing all Epstein files, with the unlikely backing of President Trump.

 

A person close with Kushner tells the Daily Mail that the president's son-in-law has never met Epstein and that he did not attend the party.

 

Trump, who was once friends with Epstein, maintains he was banned from Mar-a-Lago in October 2007 because he was 'creepy.' And on Friday he told press on board Air Force One that 'Jeffrey Epstein and I had a very bad relationship for many years.'

 

Kushner was owner of the New York Observer when Epstein received an email invite to the newspaper's 25th anniversary celebration on March 14, 2013.

 

'Mayor Michael Bloomberg will be by his side to toast you all,' read the email forwarded to Epstein by who appears to be his assistant Lesley Groff in the form of a press release signed by 'Peggy.'

 

His wife Ivanka and her father Donald Trump were included on the guest list, as were then-Newark Mayor Cory Booker, who was running for U.S. Senate at the time; actresses Blake Lively and Katie Holmes; fashion designer Carolina Herrera; and Weinstein's then-fashion designer wife Georgina Chapman.

 

Epstein was convicted in 2008 in Florida on state charges of procuring a minor for prostitution and soliciting prostitution, serving 13 months in a work-release program as part of a controversial plea deal.

 

Kushner's invite list included multiple already and soon-to-be convicted sex offenders.

 

Rape allegations against Weinstein would emerge in 2017 and he is currently serving a 16-year prison sentence for rape.

 

News personality Matt Lauer fell to the #MeToo movement the same year when NBC News terminated his contract due to multiple claims of sexual misconduct and harassment by former and current colleagues.

 

And former New York Observer editor-in-chief Ken Kurson was on the guest list. In 2021 he was pardoned by Trump after being charged with cyberstalking.

 

The March 2013 email said the party would honor New York City's 'best' and 'brightest.'

 

'The Observer is honoring those who have defined and shaped New York since 1987,' the email reads, adding: 'They are celebrating the cities (sic) best, brightest and most influential in culture, media and finance.'

 

'The celebration is going to be one of those quintessential New York nights. We are looking forward to seeing you.'

 

Kushner as publisher and Joseph Meyer as CEO were the hosts of the Observer's party.

In August, when businessman Mikhael Mirilashvili filed a defamation suit against anti-government protest leaders, he hoped to dispel the image of himself as an oligarch wreaking chaos in Israel on behalf of Moscow. The response filed with a court last week for one of the defendants, advertising executive Ilan Shiloah, shows that the claims haven't been silenced – maybe the opposite.

In his court filing, Shiloah claims that a logistics company that Mirilashvili allegedly controls provided services to Russia's state-owned nuclear energy company, which has taken part in projects in Iran since the '90s.

The defense appended documents to help prove its point, but Mirilashvili – the father of Yitzchak Mirilashvili, who holds a controlling stake in the pro-Netanyahu Channel 14 – said he has no ties with the Russian company.

One affair ended with the kidnapping, murder and dismemberment of two members of a gang that had kidnapped Mirilashvili's father for ransom and later released him. The defendants claimed that Mirilashvili was convicted of murder, while actually he was only convicted of plotting the kidnapping.

Shiloah is one of six defendants who have made claims about Mirilashvili in what the 600,000-shekel ($186,000) lawsuit describes as an "orchestrated campaign" to tarnish him as part of a fight against Channel 14, whose editorial line is largely faithful to the messaging of the Netanyahu government.

Parts of the lawsuit against other defendants look like an easy win for Mirilashvili; for example, a mistake about a conviction in the early 2000s that got Mirilashvili eight years in a Russian prison.

With an avalanche of new documents released by the House Oversight Committee, and looming legislation mandating further disclosures, the press has renewed its relentless coverage of the life and times of Jeffrey Epstein. Yet, with some notable exceptions, a major part of his life’s work has remained outside the media’s gaze, his relationship with the state of Israel and his prominent role in helping advance the Israeli cyberweapons industry. And so our series continues.

 

On July 31, 2019, just eleven days before Jeffrey Epstein was found dead in a Manhattan jail cell, his connection to the Rothschild banking dynasty became the subject of major public controversy.

 

Anonymous sources informed Bloomberg of a 2015 visit to Epstein’s New York mansion by baroness Ariane de Rothschild, the CEO of Edmond de Rothschild Group, a storied private bank and one of the largest Swiss financial institutions by assets under management. The bank’s spokesperson denied any relationship to the notorious American sex trafficker. Epstein was found dead on August 10, 2019.

 

Four years later, after Epstein’s meeting calendars were leaked to the Wall Street Journal, the bank finally admitted that de Rothschild had met with Epstein as part of her “normal duties at the bank between 2013 and 2019.” Epstein provided introductions to U.S. finance leaders and law firms and provided tax and risk consulting, the bank disclosed, while also helping de Rothschild personally on “a couple of occasions” with advice on estate management.

 

The bank remained vague about the actual nature of its relationship with the convicted sex trafficker. Newly released documents reveal that Epstein and de Rothschild’s personal relationship was much closer than the bank previously acknowledged. According to emails released by the U.S. House Oversight Committee on November 12, Epstein planned to see a Broadway play with de Rothschild in January 2014, and scheduled a private trip with her to Montreal that September.

 

A second set of documents—the leaked inbox of former Israeli defense minister Ehud Barak, hacked by Handala and uploaded by non-profit whistleblower Distributed Denial of Secrets—sheds light on Epstein’s efforts to leverage his personal friendship with de Rothschild to raise funds for the development of Israeli cyberweapons. After Barak’s retirement from government in 2013, he recruited Pavel Gurvich, a graduate of the Israel Defense Forces’ secretive Unit 81 technology unit, to source cyberweapons startups from the Israeli intelligence community. Gurvich did not respond to a request for comment.

 

Private communications between Barak and Gurvich show discussions about a wide range of cyberweapons concepts drawn from Israeli military research, inspired in part by the astonishing scope of U.S. global surveillance apparatus revealed by NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden in 2013. Epstein pushed forward a plan to finance Israeli “offensive cyber” startups with the hope of winning de Rothschild’s support.

IDF unleashes wave of strikes on Hezbollah in southern Lebanon after evacuation warnings

The Israeli Air Force launched a wave of airstrikes Wednesday afternoon on Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon, the military said, shortly after issuing evacuation warnings to residents of several villages.

The strikes began around 3:30 p.m. in the villages of Deir Kifa and Chehour, following a public warning by IDF Arabic-language spokesperson Lt. Col. Avichay Adraee, who urged residents to evacuate buildings suspected of housing Hezbollah military infrastructure.

About 30 minutes later, Adraee issued similar warnings for the villages of Aynata and Tayr Felsay, where the military struck shortly after.

 

In what he labeled an “urgent warning,” Adraee wrote: “The IDF will soon strike Hezbollah military infrastructure in an effort to disrupt its attempts to restore operations in the area.

We urge residents of the designated building and nearby structures to evacuate immediately for their safety.”

The new round of strikes came a day after an Israeli airstrike killed 14 Hamas operatives and wounded 28 others in the Ain al-Hilweh Palestinian refugee camp near Sidon.

Hezbollah-affiliated media described the strike as a “massacre,” claiming it targeted civilians.

 

In response, the IDF released a recruitment flyer found in the camp that invited Palestinian youth to join what it described as the “resistance,” encouraging them to register at three locations in Ain al-Hilweh — one of 12 Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon.

One of the recruitment sites, near the Khalid Ibn al-Walid Mosque, was struck in Tuesday’s operation.

“This was not a peaceful facility, as some reports claimed,” Adraee said in an online statement.

“As for the lies, slander and talk of a ‘massacre’ — it is a desperate attempt by Hamas and some Lebanese elements to cover up real terror.”

On Tuesday, Lebanese media reported that schools in Sidon would be closed Wednesday in response to the airstrike and as a general protest against what they termed “crimes of the occupation.”

That morning, local channels broadcast footage of destruction in the strike zone and reported a general strike in the Ain al-Hilweh refugee camp. One outlet affiliated with the Shiite axis wrote: “This morning in Ain al-Hilweh was unlike any other.

The camp awoke to a wound reminiscent only of the Nakba, to blood unjustly spilled under the missiles of the Zionist entity [sic], which continues to pursue Palestinians everywhere, even in camps they believed to be their last refuge.”

The camp is among several that, in recent weeks, transferred weapons to the Lebanese army — at least those belonging to the Palestine Liberation Organization, according to Palestinian security officials in Lebanon.

 

On September 13, the Lebanese Armed Forces announced on X that “as part of the disarmament process in the Palestinian camps, the army received five truckloads of weapons from Ain al-Hilweh near Sidon and three truckloads from Beddawi camp near Tripoli.

The delivery included various types of weapons and ammunition. Relevant army units received them for inspection and further action.” Still, Ain al-Hilweh remains a heavily armed stronghold of terrorist activity.

The Lebanese National News Agency reported a meeting in Sidon on Wednesday between prominent local figures to discuss a joint condemnation of the strike and to express solidarity with the families of the dead and wounded.

A unified statement is expected to be released at the conclusion of the meeting.

 

No official response to the strike has been issued by Lebanese President Joseph Aoun.

According to a statement from the presidency, Aoun spoke with Lebanese Armed Forces Commander Gen. Rodolphe Haykal on Wednesday, but the conversation concerned the unrelated deaths of two Lebanese soldiers during a raid on suspected drug traffickers in the Baalbek area. The Israeli airstrike was not mentioned.

Hezbollah issued a statement Wednesday afternoon condemning the strike on the refugee camp, claiming it targeted “a densely populated area full of innocent civilians and children.”

The group added that the incident “adds to the record of Israeli crimes” and constitutes “another violation of Lebanese sovereignty, the ceasefire agreement and UN Resolution 1701.”

 

The statement further warned that “the pillars of the Lebanese state must understand that any show of leniency, weakness or submission to the enemy will only embolden it.”

According to the Iran-backed group, “Lebanon’s sources of strength are the only guarantee for foiling the enemy’s plans and defending the country's sovereignty and security.”

These developments come amid reports that Gen. Haykal’s scheduled meetings in Washington were canceled, reportedly due to U.S. dissatisfaction with the slow progress of Lebanon’s plan to centralize arms under state control.

On Wednesday morning, Lebanese media reported another fatality and 11 injuries in an Israeli strike on a vehicle in the village of At-Tiri in southern Lebanon. Among the injured were students traveling in a nearby school bus, according to local reports.

Oil output resumes after drone attacks on Sudan facilities

South Sudan’s Ministry of Petroleum said Wednesday it has fully restored crude production and exports after drone attacks on two key oil processing facilities inside Sudan forced temporary shutdowns last week.

Undersecretary of Petroleum Ministry Eng. Deng Lual Wol told reporters in Juba that operations had returned to normal after joint South Sudan–Sudan technical teams repaired damage at the Heglig and Al Jabalain central processing facilities, which were hit in separate strikes on Nov. 13 and Nov. 15.

 

“This was a deliberate attack on vital national infrastructure,” Wol said. “We lost a dedicated staff member, and our thoughts remain with the family.

But even in the face of tragedy, our teams responded with professionalism and courage.”

 

First strike triggered shutdown

The ministry said the first attack occurred on Nov. 13 at about 2:30 p.m., when an unmanned aerial vehicle fired three missiles at the Heglig Central Processing Facility, striking a maintenance workshop and laboratory and killing one staff member from 2B OPCO.

 

Petrolines for Crude Oil Co. immediately alerted the operating companies — Greater Pioneer Operating Company, Dar Petroleum Operating Company and Sudd Petroleum Operating Company — prompting an emergency shutdown.

By 3 p.m., 2B OPCO had declared force majeure and taken Pump Station 1 and associated units offline.

A second drone strike hit the Al Jabalain facility and its power plant on Nov. 15. Bashayer Pipeline Company activated its emergency control center and halted operations to protect personnel and infrastructure.

 

Joint repairs completed

The ministry said a joint technical team made up of specialists from South Sudan’s operating companies, Sudan’s Ministry of Energy and Petroleum, BAPCO, PETCO and 2B OPCO was deployed within hours of the attacks to assess damage and carry out repairs.

Wol said the team worked “around the clock,” restoring power, restarting the affected processing units and reactivating Pump Station 1 by Nov. 16. SPOC resumed exports earlier on Wednesday.

“We acted as one team, one region and one technical force,” Wol said. “This collaboration shows that even under pressure, our oil sector operates with unity and precision.”

 

Exports fully restored

The ministry said crude is now flowing normally from South Sudan’s fields through the pipeline system to the Red Sea terminal.

Wells that were shut during the emergency have been brought back online, and operations in the Unity, Tharjiath and Paloch fields have returned to full capacity.

South Sudan relies on oil for more than 90% of government revenue.

 

Wol said production levels will continue to rise steadily in the coming days as additional wells are restarted.

He noted that Dar Petroleum is currently producing about 97,000 barrels per day, with plans to ramp up toward 150,000 barrels.

 

Greater Pioneer Operating Company is producing about 40,000 barrels per day and is expected to reach 50,000 barrels, its level before the shutdown.

Sudd Petroleum Operating Company is producing about 13,000 barrels per day, compared with 15,000 barrels before the attacks.

 

Security concerns linger

Asked about security assurances as conflict continues in Sudan, Wol said leaders in both countries were coordinating with regional partners to prevent further strikes on oil infrastructure located in Sudanese territory.

He said protecting the pipeline and export corridor was essential for both nations.

 

“As a landlocked country, South Sudan has the right to access seaports under international law,” he said. “Ensuring the safety of these facilities is in the interest of both nations.”

Wol thanked South Sudanese and Sudanese engineers for what he described as a swift and professional response that minimized disruption to the national economy.

Marco Rubio

Current Secretary of State Marco Rubio is one of the top names in the film.

Speaking to NewsNation’s Joe Khalil, Rubio noted that interest in UFOs carries a stigma, but it is one of the issues he says keeps him up at night.

“Things are flying over sensitive restricted airspace in the U.S., and they claim it’s not ours. That alone is reason to look into this stuff,” he said.

“My biggest fear in all this, frankly, is that some adversary has made a technological leap. That would be really bad news, and we would be caught flat-footed on it.”

 

Kirsten Gillibrand

Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., was one of a bipartisan group of lawmakers who helped establish the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office, the Pentagon department tasked with investigating reports of unidentified objects.

Gillibrand has noted that while many sightings are explainable, there are still several incidents where objects remain unidentified.

 

Mike Rounds

Sen. Mike Rounds, R-S.D., has cosponsored legislation to increase transparency around UAP sightings, working with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y.

Rounds has pushed for a committee that would review UAP records and determine which can be disclosed without jeopardizing national security.

“If there was such information that existed, we were directing that it be preserved and then it be delivered for appropriate persons, and for review, by this select committee,” Rounds told NewsNation.

 

James Clapper

Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper has said it’s logical for the intelligence community to be involved in UAP investigations and says the current approach is out of date.

 

Chris Mellon

A former deputy assistant secretary of defense for intelligence to Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, Christopher Mellon, has said too much information on UAPs is classified, and the government should be more transparent.

Mellon told NewsNation’s Ross Coulthart about UAP videos the Pentagon has released and said he believes many more remain classified despite there being no potential national security risk.

“We want to reserve classification for things that is really sensitive and needs to be protected, but otherwise, it’s in the country’s best interest to get that information out,” Mellon told NewsNation.

 

Tim Burchett

Rep. Tim Burchett, R-Tenn., has been one of the most outspoken voices on the issue of UAPs.

He has frequently spoken to NewsNation about the need for transparency and his belief that Pentagon officials are stonewalling lawmakers attempting to look into the subject.

He has accused the Pentagon of sending people with limited knowledge to do briefings.

“These guys can swear under oath. They can take a lie detector test because they’re telling the truth as they know it,” Burchett told NewsNation.

Christian and Muslims clashed as a governor candidate planned a march in Dearborn as he was once against Sharia Law, he then visited the town and changed his position on what’s happening in Dearborn. Some of his base and members of his campaign turned on him causing tension at the event.
