Drones torch Russian chemical plant in Novgorod

A fire broke out at the Acron chemical plant following an overnight drone attack on the Russian city of Veliky Novgorod, the Astra Telegram channel reported on March 9, posting geolocated photos of the facility and videos from residents.

Regional Governor Alexander Dronov confirmed that the oblast had been targeted by drones, though he did not disclose the consequences of the strike. He urged residents not to approach any drone debris.

IDF killed top Hezbollah commander, defense minister says

Defense Minister Israel Katz said the IDF eliminated the commander of Hezbollah’s Nasr Unit in a targeted strike overnight, as more than 1 million Lebanese residents have fled Beirut’s Dahieh district and the country's south amid ongoing fighting.

Katz made the remarks Monday during a visit to Northern Command, where he was briefed on the strike that killed Abu Hussein Raab, identified as the commander of the Nasr Unit in Hezbollah.

According to the briefing, about 650,000 residents have fled Dahieh, a southern suburb of the Lebanese capital and a Hezbollah stronghold, and roughly another half million have left southern Lebanon.

Katz visited the command alongside senior officers, including Northern Command chief Maj. Gen. Rafi Milo and other division and corps commanders.

During the visit, Katz praised the determination of IDF forces and emphasized the mission of defending communities in Israel’s north from cross-border raids and anti-tank fire.

“The decision to move forward immediately and defend the communities is morally and operationally correct,” Katz said. “It also ensures that what happened will not happen again.”

Katz said residents would remain in their homes and that defending communities is the top priority. “There is no evacuation and no abandonment. Everyone remains on their land, in their home, wherever they are,” he said.

From that point, he added, the campaign against Hezbollah should intensify rather than retreat. “Not only will we not withdraw in the face of Hezbollah, we will use the opportunity to strike it,” Katz said.

“We are striking it and will continue to strike it. Prepare operational plans to hit it, exact a price and thwart its capabilities.”

Katz said the large-scale displacement of Lebanese civilians demonstrates the strength and deterrence of the IDF.

“The fact that a million Lebanese have left their homes in southern Lebanon and Dahieh shows the power of the IDF and its deterrence,” he said.

He added that the situation should be used to eliminate the remaining threats and make the area safer than before Operation Roaring Lion began.

Katz also said the Lebanese government bears responsibility for failing to disarm Hezbollah, despite commitments under international agreements.

“The Lebanese government took responsibility and signed agreements. It must stand by them,” he said. “It committed to disarm Hezbollah and must act to do so.”

Katz said Lebanon and its army failed to prevent Hezbollah from operating in the south, adding that “what we do not do, no one else will do.”

“We have an opportunity to bring very, very significant security,” he said.

New tracking data shows young Christians are attending church at the highest rates in decades

New data from the Barna Group shows Millennials and Gen Z Christians are attending church more frequently than ever before. For the first time since tracking began, young adults are attending church much more often than older generations. The typical Gen Z churchgoer now attends 1.9 weekends per month. Millennial churchgoers are right behind them, averaging 1.8 times per month.

“The typical Gen Z churchgoer now attends 1.9 weekends per month, while Millennial churchgoers average 1.8 times—a steady upward shift since the lows seen during the pandemic.”

This represents a steady upward shift from the lows seen during the pandemic in 2020. In contrast, Elder churchgoers have seen their participation rates steadily decline over the past 25 years. In 2000, Elders attended 2.3 times per month. That number has fallen alongside Boomer attendance.

A "Not Typical" Trend of Spiritual Renewal

Daniel Copeland, Barna’s vice president of research, described the findings as a departure from historical norms.

“Even so, the fact that young people are showing up more frequently than before is not a typical trend. It’s typically older adults who are the most loyal churchgoers. This data represents good news for church leaders and adds to the picture that spiritual renewal is shaping Gen Z and Millennials today.”

Historically, older adults have been the most loyal churchgoers. The 2025 data flips that narrative. Barna’s analysis found that among all churched adults, the average attendance is only 1.6 times per month. Gen Z (1.9) and Millennials (1.8) are now the primary drivers of church momentum. OSV News reports this in-person attendance is the highest among all generations. The data indicates spiritual renewal actively shapes the younger generations.

Reversing the 25-Year Decline

The Barna report highlights a significant shift from trends observed since the turn of the millennium.

“Looking back, Elder churchgoers came about 2.3 times per month in 2000 and Boomers were consistently attending about half of all weekends (2.0 times per month). Those participation rates have steadily declined over the past 25 years. Gen X attendance has held steady but has not grown. In contrast, younger generations have moved from an average of just over one weekend per month in 2020 to nearly two in 2025.”

Several current and former members of Congress are suing to secure retroactive pay raises, drawing scorn from at least one fiscal conservative in the institution.

"Corrupt Washington politicians, including Democrat James E. Clyburn are suing for retroactive congressional pay raises that could cost taxpayers MILLIONS of dollars!!" Rep. Ralph Norman, R-S.C., who is running for S.C. governor, wrote on social media last week. "With $38 TRILLION in debt, Congress doesn’t deserve a raise! Enough is enough!"

The National Taxpayers Union Foundation wrote a piece elaborating on the details of the effort for retroactive pay hikes.

"Represented by former Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, Jim Clyburn (D-SC), Rick Crawford (R-AR), Steny Hoyer (D-MD), former Reps. Rodney Davis (R-IL), Tom Davis (R-VA), Ed Perlmutter (D-CO), and former Sen. Mark Kirk (R-IL) are suing taxpayers for retroactive pay hikes that could add tens of millions—and potentially far more—to federal liabilities," according to the organization.

The NTUF said the plaintiffs are arguing that "annual votes since 1992 to block automatic cost-of-living adjustments (COLAs) for members of Congress violated the 27th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution."

The NTUF said Clyburn and Hoyer signed on as new plaintiffs after they first published a piece about the case and its "potential burden on taxpayers."

An amendment, originally proposed by James Madison in 1789 and ratified in 1992, requires that any law varying congressional compensation cannot take effect until after an intervening election, the NTUF reported.

Congress has repeatedly voted to freeze congressional pay at $174,000 per year since January 2009. The pay freeze remains in effect for members of Congress

Norman has sponsored legislation that would eliminate future automatic pay adjustments for members of Congress.

“Congress is the only place in America where you can fail the people you represent and still expect a raise,” Norman said in a statement. “That’s not public service. That’s a broken system.

Port-au-Prince (Agenzia Fides) – A young man who had begun his journey to become a priest was killed by a kamikaze drone used by the police.

According to the Haitian newspaper PouSiOupaTKonnen, Jamesly Jean-Louis was hit by a drone on March 7 in downtown Port-au-Prince, near the main cemetery.

According to the newspaper, the young man was riding a motorcycle when he stumbled upon a police operation nearby.

Perhaps in order not to waste time returning home, the young man made maneuvers that aroused the suspicions of the officers, and a kamikaze drone struck him.

Since 2017, Jamesly had been a member of the Holy Family of Saint Bernadette in Martissant. Deeply devout and eager to serve Christ, he had joined other groups, including the Liturgical Committee and the Kiro group of the parish of Notre-Dame de la Caridad.

In a statement published on March 5, the Archdiocese of Port-au-Prince expressed deep concern for the health of Father Jean Robert, who suffers from severe diabetes.

"A month ago, the Reverend Father Jean Robert Louis, a Catholic priest engaged in pastoral care for detainees and prisoners, was kidnapped and taken away from his mission," states the Archdiocese's statement, which makes "an urgent appeal to those holding him hostage.

We sincerely hope that this appeal will receive their attention and that our brother will be released as soon as possible so he can resume his pastoral mission."

"Father Jean Robert Louis has devoted a significant part of his ministry to accompanying prisoners, to whom he bears witness to God's mercy," the Archdiocese emphasizes.

The statement recalls that "every human being possesses an inviolable dignity that cannot be sold or exploited. Depriving someone of their freedom and using them as an object of pressure or profit is a direct offense to their fundamental dignity and a grave sin against human brotherhood."

Drone footage captures Glasgow central building after fire

DRONE footage has captured the smouldering Union Street building in daylight following a horrific blaze last night.

Following the fire, Glasgow Central station is likely to remain closed for at least two days causing major travel disruption.

The 19th century building on Union Street – known as Union Corner – was hollowed out by the intense fire, which caused a dome to partially collapse.

All train services from Scotland’s busiest railway station were cancelled and Network Rail have said it will remain closed on Monday and likely Tuesday as well.

An MSP compared the damage to the devastation from “the Blitz”. Nearby hotels were evacuated and roads were sealed off.

On Monday morning, fire crews used aerial platforms to hose water onto what remained of the building, as smoke hung in the air.

Only the facade of the building at the corner of Gordon Street and Union Street has been left standing.

As of 6.45am, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said crews were still battling the fire with nine appliances at the scene, and people are urged to avoid the area where possible.

A spokesperson said: “Firefighters were mobilised at 3.46pm on Sunday March 8 to reports of a fire on the ground floor of a four-storey building.

“Operations remain ongoing and there have been no reports of casualties.”

First Minister John Swinney has said the Scottish Government is willing to help Glasgow City Council with the financial consequences of the fire outside Central station.

He told press ahead of a visit to the scene: “The UK Government recognises that there will be a significant financial cost arising out of this incident.

“We’re in the early days of all of that. But I want to signal our willingness to support Glasgow City Council and to support them financially in dealing with the consequences, which will be immediate, significant and unexpected.”

The United Arab Emirates said its air defenses intercepted 12 ballistic missiles and 17 drones on Monday as part of ongoing Iranian attacks.

The Ministry of Defence said 15 ballistic missiles were detected, with 12 destroyed and three falling into the sea. Of 18 UAVs detected, 17 were intercepted and one fell within the country’s territory.

Since the start of the attacks, the UAE said it has detected 253 ballistic missiles — 233 destroyed, 18 falling into the sea and two landing inside the country. In 2026, a growing UFO and UAP community on Reddit is asking similar questions, with participant WolverineScared2504 posting:

And with that came an impassioned discussion.

“He was in the shadows, and went by the name Dennis,” explained WolverineScared2504, “he feared for his own safety and the real possibility of legal charges should he be exposed…. that to me is a whistleblower.”

Bob Lazar, however, is a whistleblower in the shadowy sense, like when he surfaced in 1989 with claims of government reverse-engineering campaigns from UFOs.

Another user went one step further with the theory that such whistleblowers are “allowed to live because they know 45% of the truth and not 100%,” adding that it’s “enough where people get misled or the truth stays hidden” – ramping up the conspiracy theory temperature somewhat.

This would also feed into the “PsyOp theory” notion, which is short for “psychological operation.” With this idea, the feds are deliberately manipulating the narrative via propaganda and misinformation.

By having a select few whistleblowers on the scene, it could help smear whatever covert operations are going on with potential alien vessels, or even play a distracting role from other operations.

Some Redditors suggested the idea of a UFO “psyop” doesn’t necessarily mean aliens are involved at all, but rather that mystery narratives could obscure more Earthly matters.

Neither NASA nor the intelligence community has backed up the extraterrestrial angle. “To date, in the peer-reviewed scientific literature, there is no conclusive evidence suggesting an extraterrestrial origin for UAP,” a NASA blue-ribbon panel wrote in a 2023 report. The Office of the Director of National Intelligence reached a similar conclusion two years earlier: “The limited amount of high-quality reporting on unidentified aerial phenomena hampers our ability to draw firm conclusions about the nature or intent of UAP.”

None of that has dampened public curiosity. The most famous Pentagon-released UAP footage was captured by cameras aboard Navy fighter planes flying over the ocean. If something from another world were visiting Earth, though, wouldn’t the military’s network of advanced radars and optical sensors — both ground-based and orbital — pick it up on the way in?

Whiting made it clear he wouldn’t bet on it.

“I can say, I, personally, was very interested in the president’s announcement,” he told reporters. “I look forward to seeing what data does come out. I can also tell you, as a space operator now of 36 years, having spent a lot of time with space domain awareness sensors, tracking things in space, I’ve never seen anything in space other than manmade objects, so I am not aware of anything that is extraterrestrial, other than comets and things like that.”

“But I’m fascinated in the topic,” he continued. “And if something’s revealed, I’ll be interested as an American citizen.”

Space Command’s area of responsibility stretches from the top of Earth’s atmosphere all the way past the Moon. One of its core missions is tracking, monitoring, and cataloging every object in orbit. By Whiting’s account, everything up there traces back to a human or natural source.

He also pointed out a technicality that might disappoint UFO watchers hoping for cosmic revelations from his files. The current terminology — UAP — includes the word “aerial,” meaning these reports deal with phenomena below the Kármán line at 100 kilometers altitude, inside Earth’s atmosphere rather than in space.

“We will respond to any presidential direction to go look at our files, but I think the term of art now is UAP, and the A is aerial, so these are things that are below the Kármán line (100 kilometers), that are in the atmosphere,” Whiting said. “I’ve seen some of the same videos and radar data that all of you have, and my guess is those relevant services and combatant commands will turn that data over. I’m very interested in the topic, but I have no personal experience with any of those phenomena.”

So while Trump’s disclosure order may eventually shake loose new information from military branches and intelligence agencies, don’t hold your breath for anything from Space Command. The man responsible for watching everything between Earth’s atmosphere and the Moon says the view is alien-free.

I would which is why I take a new eyewitness testimony about strange lights spotted near a Missouri airport seriously as it was reported by a soldier.

This new report just shared recently by the National UFO Reporting Center site says that something odd happened near Missouri City, Missouri in the middle of February.

It says that in the early morning hours of February 18, 2026, a person who says they are in the military reported seeing odd lights that would appear, increase in intensity and then disappear.

The person thought it might be drones, but the lights were too close to the Kansas City International Airport for that to be legal or safe. Here are some of their exact words they shared about what they saw:

"Headed on liberty parkway towards 291 highway I saw lights that would slowly flicker brighter then duller until it disappeared and would reappear shortly after in a new location fading in intensity then growing in intensity only to fade out and appear in a close by location, I saw 3-4 of them essentially dancing or fighting."

The soldier added in the testimony that they "either slowly fade as they moved north or south or fade in a stationary position then appear in a new spot that was more north or south and higher or lower slowly growing its light intensity".

For the record, the site of this encounter is not close to Whiteman Air Force Base.

Drones can't be ruled out, but if someone was flying them that close to a major airport like the one in Kansas City, they'd be in big trouble with the FAA.

If they weren't drones, what conventional explanation can be applied to what this soldier saw? The truth is out there.

People disagree on what the anomalous phenomena are, but now that Trump has ordered declassification of UAP/UFO files, there's no disagreeing that the government lied about its interest in them and has been hiding what it knows.

President Donald Trump last month directed the Pentagon and other federal agencies to identify and release government records regarding “alien and extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), and unidentified flying objects (UFOs), and any and all other information connected to these highly complex, but extremely interesting and important, matters.”

The announcement comes after decades in which government agencies said they were no longer studying the phenomenon.

“They were lying,” said John Greenewald, who has been requesting government documents on UFOs since the 1990s through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), in a new podcast.

“It doesn’t matter if you’re a skeptic, a believer, or like us, somewhere in between. They were lying about their interest in UFOs after the 1969 closure of Project Blue Book.

The Department of Defense, the NSA, the CIA, the DIA — they don’t want you to know the truth.”

Project Blue Book was the Air Force’s public investigation of reports of UFOs.

It ran from 1952 to 1969, but its origins date back to 1947, when Lt. General Nathan Twining, tasked with investigating the subject, sent a secret memo to the head of the Army Air Forces stating,

“The phenomenon reported is something real and not visionary or fictitious.”

Greenewald filed FOIA requests with the Navy for all photographs designated as UAP in its holdings. The Navy acknowledged possessing 78 such photographs.

It released none of them. In an appeal decided just days before our conversation, the Navy reaffirmed that 100 percent of the imagery is classified.

“They can do it if they want to,” Greenewald said. “You go back decades from these sensitive platforms over war zones that are releasing this imagery, redacting or blurring the sensitive coordinates or whatever heads up display information that they don’t want out there.

You can easily redact or blur. It’s 2026. We can do that and do it relatively quickly and shield all that sensitive information.”

He points to a video released by the Pentagon of a Russian jet spraying fuel on a US drone, a classified platform.

Drone footage of strikes on Iranian targets, drug trafficking boats, and other military operations flows to the public regularly from sensitive platforms.

“It is absolutely topic-specific on their cover-up of this information,” he said. “And then the question is, why is that?”

The three famous UAP videos known as FLIR, Gimbal, and Go Fast were eventually released, partly because Greenewald’s FOIA requests forced the Navy to acknowledge that it considered them unclassified.

Internal emails obtained through FOIA showed that his specific case number created the bind.

The Navy then proactively released the videos and responded to his request the same day.

When Greenewald requested all additional UAP videos beyond those three, the Navy responded that 100 percent of the remaining videos are classified.

“You’ve already admitted that three UAP videos were unclassified and you finally released those. Now you’re claiming that 100 percent of the rest are all classified. That part didn’t make sense.”

Among the most striking documents Greenewald has obtained is a briefing document from the UAP Task Force. The document lists potential explanations for UAP encounters. Some are visible.
