Now Congress wants to know how that passed state licensing, certification, and accreditation.

What exactly is the gold standard?

He argues that Kabbalah gained influence as a reaction against the rationalism associated with Maimonides, and says its spread into the Jewish mainstream was strengthened by Nachmanides.

“Kabbalah began with people who were ignorant and did not know how to study Gemara,” Rubin says. “But when someone like Nachmanides, with all his authority and students, adopted it, that gave it its major push.”

"How did we get to a situation where core studies are considered heresy?” Rubin says. “How did mathematics become heresy?”

Rubin links that trend directly to Israel, warning that ultra-Orthodox opposition to core curriculum studies threatens the country’s future. He says earlier Jewish figures, including Maimonides, Ibn Ezra and Gersonides, embraced science, medicine, mathematics and astronomy.

“The ultra-Orthodox world is ultimately a threat to Israel’s future,” Rubin says. “When the ultra-Orthodox grow demographically, there will be no state here.”

Rubin also says Kabbalistic teachings helped encourage racist attitudes toward non-Jews, particularly texts that describe non-Jewish souls as spiritually impure. He contrasts that with Maimonides’ view that non-Jews have moral responsibility and can earn a share in the world to come by observing the Seven Noahide Laws.

“In Kabbalah, a non-Jew has an impure soul from birth, regardless of what he did,” Rubin says. “That madness is blocking our lives here.”

Rubin reserves some of his harshest language for the Zohar, the central work of Kabbalah. He calls it “the greatest and most successful forgery in the Jewish world” and, because of its erotic imagery, refers to it as an “erotic novel.”

Trump says Iran sent improved offer after he canceled Pakistan trip

President Donald Trump said he canceled the planned trip by US negotiators to Pakistanbecause there was “no reason” to have people travel for 16 or 17 hours when Iran’s position was not good enough, but said Tehran sent an improved paper shortly after the cancellation.

“There’s no reason to wait two days, have people traveling for 16, 17 hours. We’re not doing it that way,”

Trump told reporters before leaving Palm Beach International Airport.“When they want, they can call me. We have all the cards. We won everything.”

Asked what had changed since he said the United States was dealing with whoever was in charge in Iran, Trump said:“Nothing. It’s just that they gave us a paper that should have been better.”

“Interestingly, immediately when I canceled it, within 10 minutes, we got a new paper that was much better,” he added.

Trump saidWashington would deal with Iran by phone rather than send negotiators to Pakistan, and that there was no reason for US officials to travel toPakistan to meet people “nobody ever heard of before.”

He said the United States had “won everything”and repeated that Iran would not be allowed to obtain a nuclear weapon.

Trump said the core issue remained Iran’s nuclear program.

“That whole deal is not complicated. Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon. It’s very simple,” he said.

Asked whether Iran had offered anything in return for a 20-year suspension of enriched uranium,Trump said: “They offered a lot, but not enough.”

Trump also said there was “tremendous infighting” in Iran and suggested rival factions might be competing over leadership, adding: “In many cases, I think they’re fighting not to be the leader.”(yeah because the leaders end up dead)

The fountains didn’t work, the grass and trees had died, the walking paths and benches were almost unusable. Also, because of security threats caused by rioters and protestors ripping up the stone pavers, and throwing them at our brave men and women from the Secret Service and Law Enforcement, my Administration decided to rebuild and beautify the Park. I made a multimillion contribution to the effort, and got others to do the same, but was not in charge of handing out the contract. That was done by the National Parks Service, and they gave it to the largest and most respected Construction Firm, for many years, in D.C., Clark Construction — A greatly respected firm, by far, the biggest in D.C. Not only did we add brand new fountains, but we completely beautified the Park, adding a new irrigation system, sod, trees, park benches, and more. It’s turning out magnificent, under budget, and way ahead of schedule! We want to have it complete by July 4th. Once again, people will come to the front door of the White House by walking through a magnificent Park befitting these Hollowed Grounds, not a dead, dirty, rusting, and very dangerous place like it was before we got involved. In fact, D.C. itself is now a safe and bustling place again. The Crime Numbers are the best they’ve had in Recorded History. The New York Times should congratulate us, instead of trying to make us look bad. We look forward to continuing to MAKE WASHINGTON, D.C.
