Former President Bill Clinton dined with financier and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein in 1995, records show—years before the interactions detailed in a statement from his office earlier this week.

That statement condemned the wealthy hedge fund manager after his indictment for alleged sex trafficking crimes was unsealed Monday. The statement said Clinton "knows nothing" about Epstein's alleged crimes and included a timeline of Clinton's interactions with him starting in 2002.

But according to a story published back in March 1995 by the Palm Beach Post, then-President Clinton attended a “three-hour dinner” at the time with a “very select group of people” at the Palm Beach home of business magnate Ron Perelman. The diverse group included Epstein – as well as singer Jimmy Buffet, actor Don Johnson, then-co-chairman of the Democratic National Committee Don Fowler and others.

“Joining Clinton for a three-hour dinner was a very select group of people, some of whom, according to one Democratic Party source, gave as much as $100,000 to the Democratic National Committee for the privilege of dining with the president,” the report said.

The nearly 25-year-old report, reviewed by Fox News, indicates that Clinton and Epstein interacted years before the instances detailed in the former president's statement this week.

That statement said: “In 2002 and 2003, President Clinton took a total of four trips on Jeffrey Epstein’s airplane: one to Europe, one to Asia, and two to Africa, which included stops in connection with the work of the Clinton Foundation. Staff, supporters of the foundation, and his Secret Service detail traveled on every leg of every trip. He had one meeting with Epstein in his Harlem office in 2002, and around the same time made one brief visit to Epstein’s New York apartment with a staff member and his security detail. In the latest scandal to rock the U.S. government’s international media networks, the Obama-appointed chief’s right hand man has pleaded guilty to stealing tens of thousands of dollars from the government. The disgraced senior government official at the U.S. Agency for Global Media (USAGM), Haroon K. Ullah, admitted that he fraudulently obtained $40,000 in government funds by falsifying hotel invoices, fake taxi receipts and by billing Uncle Sam for personal travel. “Additionally, Ullah admitted that he created a falsified letter from a real medical doctor purportedly claiming that Ullah needed to fly in business class at government expense because of a sore knee,” according to a Justice Department statement. “By submitting the forged letter from the doctor, Ullah fraudulently obtained costly business class upgrades at government expense, including on lengthy international flights. Ullah admitted to creating many of the false documents on his government-issued laptop computer.”

Ullah, who is described as an educator, scholar and diplomat, was handpicked by USAGM Chief John F. Lansing in 2017 to be the agency’s chief strategic officer. The author of a book called “Vying for Allah’s Vote,” Ullah oversaw several divisions at USAGM and was the key liaison charged with positioning the media networks within the broader U.S. government. As Lansing’s top assistant, “Ullah’s main responsibility was to lead USAGM to become a more strategically relevant agency within the national security, foreign affairs, internet censorship and global media spheres,” according to his biography on the agency’s website. Before getting recruited by Lansing, Ullah, a Harvard graduate, worked at the State Department. He recently pleaded guilty to theft of government money and faces up to a decade in prison, though it is unlikely he’ll serve that much time. Ullah is scheduled to be sentenced in October.

The senior USAGM official’s crimes mark the latest embarrassment for the taxpayer-funded media conglomerate which is comprised of five international networks—Office of Cuba Broadcasting (OCB), Voice of America (VOA), Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL), Radio Free Asia and Middle East Broadcasting. The media outlets get about $685 million a year from American taxpayers and reportedly reach 345 million people worldwide in 59 languages. The global media agency was created to counter disinformation spread by oppressive regimes abroad. The USAGM website states that its mission is “to inform, engage and connect people around the world in support of freedom and democracy.”

Under Lansing’s tenure USAGM has deviated from that mission repeatedly, making it difficult to understand why the Trump administration has not replaced him. Earlier this year Lansing utilized Stalinist techniques to retaliate against journalists behind a broadcast critical of leftwing billionaire George Soros. The Spanish-language segment aired in May 2018 on Television Martí and was available for months online. A scandal-plagued Democratic senator tried for bribery and corruption eventually heard about it and ordered Lansing to punish the employees responsible for the Soros broadcast. In an October 31, 2018 letter to Lansing, New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez ordered an immediate investigation into the Soros broadcast as well as a broader audit and Lansing quickly obliged. A few years ago, Menendez was charged with federal bribery and corruption stemming from his relationship with a crooked south Florida eye doctor that lavished him with cash, gifts and trips in exchange for political favors.

At Menendez’s request Lansing took action, firing eight reporters and editors and ordering a review of all content to address “patterns of unethical, unprofessional, biased, or sub-standard journalism.” Ironically, a few weeks later Lansing proclaimed his support for “press freedom” as part of World Press Freedom Day. In a dramatic and widely distributed statement, Lansing assured the world that his agency “will continue to report the truth,” though it cost USAGM journalists their jobs weeks earlier. The USAGM Soros broadcast accurately focused on his efforts to cripple sovereign governments in Latin America. Judicial Watch was cited as a source because it investigated State Department funding of Soros groups in Colombia and published a report on Soros’ initiatives to advance a radical globalist agenda in Guatemala.

Alexander Acosta is arguably President Trump’s most successful cabinet member. For starters, job numbers and unemployment rates are breaking records under his supervision as Labor Secretary.

And particularly noteworthy for this administration, Acosta has been scandal free. There have been no Twitter fights (like with Jeff Sessions), no misuse of government funds (like with six other cabinet members), or other similar issues (like with Louise Linton going off on Instagram).

Instead, Acosta has done what he has always done — kept his head down, worked hard, and gotten good results.

Because of his successes, there had been some whispers that Acosta was being considered, albeit as a long-shot, for Attorney General.

Acosta, who has dedicated his life to public service (from the civil rights division to U.S. Attorney to dean of Florida International University School of Law to his current position in the cabinet), would have been an incredible choice.

Then last week, the Miami Herald retold the story of Jeffrey Epstein’s plea deal from over 10 years ago, when Secretary Acosta was U.S. Attorney Acosta. Although Epstein was required to plead guilty, register as a sex offender, pay restitution and go to state prison, there are many — including the New York Times, Miami Herald, and others — who are calling for Congress to investigate Acosta and force him out, equating Acosta’s approval of the deal to Epstein’s actions.

Palm Beach multimillionaire Jeffrey Epstein is a free man, despite sexually abusing dozens of underage girls according to police and prosecutors. His victims have never had a voice, until now.

Although it is fair to have an honest disagreement about the Epstein plea agreement, the attacks on Acosta are not justified. As for the merits of the agreement, it is important to remember that the federal government only prosecutes federal crimes.

At the time this case was being investigated, there were serious questions about whether Epstein’s crimes had the required federal nexus. These were traditional state court crimes with local victims, which the federal government decided should be prosecuted by the state system.

In addition, there were legitimate concerns about how a trial would have turned out. These trials are difficult as the Michael Jackson (acquitted) and Bill Cosby (hung jury before eventually obtaining conviction, which is now subject to appeal) cases have shown. Here, prosecutors have said that many of the victims either refused to testify or were going to say things that helped Epstein.

The girls who were abused by Jeffrey Epstein and the cops who championed their cause remain angry over what they regard as a gross injustice, while Epstein's employees and those who engineered his non-prosecution agreement have prospered.

The sad truth is that over 97 percent of cases result in plea agreements. There are so many moving parts in these deals that it is hard to say how or why any particular deal is made — the strength of the government’s case, witness issues, jurisdictional questions and prosecutorial goals are just some of these considerations. That’s why when prosecutors recommend no jail time for Michael Flynn or allow Michael Cohen to ask for no jail time, there are always critics including the president.

To argue that Acosta was persuaded to sign off on passing the case to state authorities because of Epstein’s wealth or Epstein’s lawyers is to ignore Acosta’s record as a tough prosecutor who put away Jack Abramoff, Jose Padilla, Broward Sheriff Ken Jeanne, executives of Hamilton Bank, and many more.

Acosta was the first U.S. Attorney to go after the Swiss banks, and he obtained a fine for $780 million as well as the names of individuals who were using secret Swiss Banks to avoid U.S. taxes. He was not a softie on the rich.

Some of these clients have been my own — and whether my clients’ cases turned out well or not for them, when we dealt with each other, I always found Acosta to be open-minded, engaging, fair, and tough.

It’s a shame that this issue has tainted Acosta. Not only has he done a really good, scandal-free, job as Labor Secretary, he would have been a tough, but fair, Attorney General. He is the kind of person we should be crossing our fingers to get in this administration.

U.S. foreign policy to restrict abortion funding results in more abortions

School of Medicine — and graduate student Nina Brooks found that abortions increased among women in African countries where NGOs, such as the International Planned Parenthood Federation, were particularly vulnerable to the policy’s requirements.

According to the DOJ, Candace Marie Claiborne, a former employee of the U.S. Department of State, pleaded guilty in April to a charge of conspiracy to defraud the United States, by lying to law enforcement and background investigators, and hiding her extensive contacts with, and gifts from, agents of the People’s Republic of China (PRC), in exchange for providing them with internal documents from the U.S. State Department.

Recall, Candace Marie Claiborne had a TOP SECRET security clearance and provided internal State Department documents to Chinese agents in exchange for gifts and benefits.

Claiborne also noted in her journal that she could “Generate 20k in 1 year” working with one of the PRC agents, who, shortly after wiring $2,480 to Claiborne, tasked her with providing internal U.S. Government analyses on a U.S.-Sino Strategic Economic Dialogue that had just concluded.

Claiborne, who confided to a co-conspirator that the PRC agents were “spies,” willfully misled State Department background investigators and FBI investigators about her contacts with those agents, the plea documents state. Alexander Acosta acted like other prosecutors. Outcome of Epstein’s original indictment not necessarily out of the ordinary for trafficking cases.

In the mid-2000s, a 53-count indictment was drafted, but never filed, against American financier Jeffrey Epstein. At the time, Palm Beach Police had identified 17 girls, as young as 14, who alleged sexual contact with him. One of the girls, Haley Robson, told police that she was paid to bring other girls to Epstein’s mansion for massages, before being pressured and paid to remove their clothes and submit to fondling and other invasive sexual contact. Instead of prosecuting the case, the U.S. attorney in the Southern District of Florida at the time — Alexander Acosta — offered a plea deal for two prostitution offenses, which carried a penalty of 13 months of incarceration with work release and a requirement to register as a sex offender. Epstein and his attorneys took the deal.

Acosta is now the labor secretary for the Trump administration, while Epstein faces new sex trafficking of minors charges in New York.

Top Democrats in Congress have publicly criticized Acosta’s plea deal, accusing him of mishandling the prosecution with an “unconscionable agreement” and demanding his resignation.

While the number of alleged victims against Epstein and failure of Acosta to confer with them before the plea agreement was made are certainly causes for concern, the unfortunate reality is that the outcome of Epstein’s original indictment is not necessarily out of the ordinary for these types of cases.

I was out running an errand and the cashier and I were talking, eventually leading up to California & how the policies in place have destroyed that state. She didn't know much about what's been taking place there and other states and was shocked. I also mentioned the propaganda being pushed by the media. The cashier, probably no more than 20 years of age, was open to learning more about what's going on. I told her to think for herself and do the research, and to not trust the media. To always question everything and think logically. She was very receptive and interested and I hope that by the end of our long chat that she will be one more the propaganda machine will not be able to fool.

For example, take the case of James Joseph, Jr. aka “Spyder.” He was arrested in 2009 in Missouri, after a woman in his company told police that he had taken her identification, she was unable to leave, and she and other women were told by him to engage in prostitution. Despite the allegations of sex trafficking, as part of a plea deal, a federal judge in Missouri sentenced him to ten months in jail for possessing a fake ID.

After Joseph took the plea deal, a probation officer realized he had an active warrant out of New York for assault against a woman named Natasha. Natasha alleged that in 2001 she was physically kidnapped, assaulted, raped and told that if she ever wanted to see her family again, she’d have to start having sex for money. She made her escape in New York, after being told she was going to be taken to China to be sold for sex.

New York authorities were notified that Joseph was in custody in Missouri, but they declined to extradite him. He was placed on federal probation and moved to Southern California, until America’s Most Wanted featured Natasha’s story. After being contacted by America’s Most Wanted producers, U.S. Marshalls took Joseph into custody for the alleged crimes in New York, while cameras rolled. Again, despite the violence and severity of the sex trafficking allegations, he took a plea deal in New York and was sentenced to less than 18 months in jail.

Five years later, Joseph finally faced charges for sex trafficking more than a half-dozen women in Contra Costa County, California. I testified as a sex trafficking expert witness in both his grand jury hearing and at his trial. In 2018, Joseph was found guilty at trial and sentenced to 174 years to life.

The reality is that sex trafficking laws are applied differently across jurisdictions and circumstances, while sex trafficking crimes are notoriously difficult to prove in a court of law. Victims are often erroneously perceived as consenting participants and have credibility gaps exploited during trial. As a result, prosecutors typically use a variety of tactics to obtain convictions without litigation, including charge bargaining and plea bargaining.

These latest horrors we are seeing are tough. Even for people like us who knew most of it already. I've been repilled for 30 years myself. I've known, but seeing it in detail and knowing it is 100% real is still utterly shocking. Not gonna lie, that fetus pic caused me to have a physical reaction. Nausea (not vomiting, not yet anyway), a tear or two, even got hint of the shakes for a minute there. ALL NORMAL RESPONSES for a non-psychopath.

I know psychiatry is just big pharma run amok, but mental health is not. Stress can creep up on you. If you are feeling exhausted, depressed, anxious, overly emotional, angry, etc. you really need to take a break. Put down the weight of the world down for a little while, the hive mind will handle it. We'll be fine without you for a few days or a week, even Q fucks' off for a month here and there. We need you at 100% soldier! That means proper sleep, exercise, food, mental and spiritual health.

More importantly, although the concept of sex trafficking has been recognized in the United States for over 100 years, our efforts to combat it have seen considerable change concentrated over the last two decades. Although the Trafficking Victims Protection Act was passed in 2000, the FBI’s Uniform Crime Report — the single most authoritative source for empirical crime data in the United States — didn’t even publish data on sex trafficking until 2013.

Although some want to believe that Epstein’s affluence, prominence, and political connections heavily influenced how the allegations against him were handled by Acosta in the mid-2000s, the reality is the result of his first indictment is not necessarily out of the norm. That is not to say that Epstein’s wealth and stature did not affect the outcome of his previous case or will not affect the outcome of his current case, but it isn’t as much of a gulf as people are being led to believe.

Top Democrats in Congress can try and vilify Acosta, but that will not bring about meaningful change. Evidence based reform is needed to better protect victims, prevent sex trafficking crimes and facilitate the prosecution of offenders. No matter where they fall on the socioeconomic spectrum or how powerful they may be, persons who consume commercial sex services with juveniles are unlikely to be convicted of sex trafficking. In fact, given the level of legal impunity they typically enjoy, that have become emboldened. Regardless of where you fall on the political spectrum, I think we can all agree that needs to change.

Instead of playing partisan politics, legislators must invest the time and resources needed to combat sex trafficking in a more meaningful way, first by analyzing and addressing the barriers to successful prosecution.

Sen. Charles Schumer Got Thousands in Donations From Jeffrey Epstein

Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.), who called on Secretary of Labor Alex Acosta to resign over his handling of the Jeffrey Epstein case around a decade ago, received thousands of dollars in donations from the financier, who is accused of sex trafficking.

Schumer’s team acknowledged the donations and said he’d pass them on to groups fighting against sex trafficking and violence.

“While these campaign accounts closed about 20 years ago, and even then the campaign never controlled the two political action committees (PACs), Senator Schumer is donating an equal sum to anti-sex trafficking and anti-violence against women groups,” Schumer’s spokesman Angelo Roefaro told the New York Post.

It wasn’t clear if Schumer’s team was asked why he took the money, how he knew Epstein, or why he didn’t return the funds after Epstein pleaded guilty to two state prostitution charges in 2008 after being accused of molesting dozens of girls.

Federal election records showed Epstein donated $7,000 to Schumer from 1992 through 1997 in addition to donating $10,000 to Victory in New York and $1,000 to Win New York in 1998. The former was a joint fundraising committee established by Schumer, according to the Post.

Schumer previously donated the amount of money he received from accused rapist Harvey Weinstein to multiple charities.

Schumer took to the Senate floor on July 9 calling on Acosta to resign and demanding the Department of Justice make public a review of how Acosta handled the case.

Schumer also said President Donald Trump should expand on his relationship with Epstein.

Acosta Defends Role In Jeffrey Epstein Deal, Says Original Charges Offered No Jail Time

Department of Labor secretary Alex Acosta defended his role in a deal with accused pedophile Jeffrey Epstein during a press conference Wednesday amid calls he should resign from the Trump administration.

Acosta argued that he actually strengthened the case against Epstein in Florida as opposed to watering it down, as some have accused him of doing. The deal, made in 2008, meant that Epstein pleaded guilty to solicitation of underage prostitutes in exchange for serving 13 months of jail time and registering as a sex offender.

According to Acosta, the original charges against Epstein brought forth by state prosecutors would have ended with no jail time for the billionaire. Instead, Acosta’s office took over the case and arranged a deal to make sure Epstein went to jail or faced harsher federal charges.

“[Epstein] would have avoided prison all together. But then the United States attorney’s office in Miami became involved. Epstein got an ultimatum. Plead guilty to a charge is that would require jail time and registration or face federal charges. And that was the week more than ten years ago that Epstein went to jail,” Acosta said, describing the deal. “We did what we did because we wanted Epstein to go to jail. He needed to go to jail…that was the focus.” Acosta added.

He continued, “Simply put, the Palm Beach State Attorney’s office was ready to let Epstein walk free, no jail time, nothing. Prosecutors in my former office found this to be completely unacceptable. And they became involved. Our office became involved.”

Acosta also claimed that department policy at the time was to blame for a federal judge finding that the U.S. attorney’s office did not appropriately notify victims of the deal.

Epstein is now facing additional charges of child sex trafficking, according to an unsealed indictment in New York City. Epstein has pleaded not guilty to the new charges, which accuse him of creating a “network” of young victims of sexual abuse. Acosta said, “He’s a bad man and he needs to be put away.”

A study by Bar-Ilan University has found that chronic social and psychological stress is recognized by some of the bacteria in the gut, which causes them to become more “violent.”

The National Institutes of Health estimates that more than 20 million people in the United States, the vast majority of whom are women, have autoimmune disease. Worldwide, the incidence of autoimmune disease is estimated at 5%. Examples of autoimmune disease are multiple sclerosis, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, juvenile diabetes, scleroderma, and pulmonary fibrosis.

The study, conducted by Avni with Ph.D. student Michal Werbner and lab manager Yiftah Barsheshet and published in mSystems, was conducted on two groups of mice. One was exposed to stress in the form of daily, threatening encounters with other “dominant and aggressive” mice. The other group was left alone. After 10 days, the researchers analyzed the gut microbiome of each group and found that the stressed mice had higher levels of some bacteria. Those included Bilophila and Dehalobacterium microbes, genera that have been observed at unusually high levels in patients with multiple sclerosis, for example.

Further, the study showed that stress led to the activation of bacterial genes related to potentially violent traits – including growth, motility and signals sent between a pathogen and a host. Microbes with these traits can travel to other parts of the body, including lymph nodes, and elicit an immune response.

“We know that there’s strong crosstalk between the immune system and the microbiota,” Avni said. This study showed that social stress changed both the composition and transcriptional patterns in the microbiota, “and the consequent immune response to that threat jeopardized the tolerance to self.”

In other words, researchers found that the onset of stress caused changes in the intestinal bacteria that, in turn, stimulated the activity of immune cells in a way that increased the likelihood that the body would attack itself.

Avni told The Jerusalem Post that if this reaction could be better understood, it could offer opportunities for potential treatment, including through the use of pharmaceutical inhibitors.
