Bureaucrats question disposal of guest lists for PM Abe's sakura parties

 

Bureaucrats at various Japanese government ministries and agencies have raised questions about the retention period of guest lists for annual cherry blossom-viewing parties hosted by Prime Minister Shinzo Abe being set at less than one year at the Cabinet Secretariat and the Cabinet Office, leading the lists to be allegedly discarded immediately after the parties were over. The two agencies have explained that they disposed of the guest lists for the tax-funded sakura parties held in 2018 and 2019 after designating the exceptionally short retention period. Those lists come in two types – one a list of people nominated as guests to the sakura functions by the Cabinet Secretariat and other agencies, and the other a list of those who were actually invited to the parties. The Cabinet Secretariat and the Cabinet Office are the only agencies that adopted the short storage period for both types of rosters.

 

The Cabinet Secretariat's lists of nominated guests include those who were recommended by Prime Minister Abe and the ruling parties to invite to the sakura functions, while the Cabinet Office's lists of invitees include those recommended by the Cabinet Secretariat and other government bodies.

 

While the Cabinet Secretariat and the Cabinet Office explained that they set the under-a-year retention period for those rosters after revisions were made to document management rules, other government bodies that have responded to Mainichi Shimbun inquiries said that on their watch they had set the storage period for the nominees' lists at three to 10 years. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs declined to answer.

 

"Any way you look at it, it is strange to discard the name lists," said an employee of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. "Cherry blossom-viewing parties are official events where people of merit from various sectors are invited and recognized for their constant efforts. It is necessary to verify whether people were invited in accordance with the purpose of the parties in evaluating the appropriateness of the budget allocation. The guest lists provide a basis for such verifications and they shouldn't be discarded."

4.5 magnitude earthquake shakes southern Kansas

 

HUTCHINSON, Kan. (AP) — A small earthquake was reported in southern Kansas on Sunday.

 

The U.S. Geological Survey said a magnitude 4.5 earthquake struck about 2 miles (3 kilometers) southwest of Hutchinson shortly after 1 p.m. The service had initially reported that it was a magnitude 4.4 earthquake, but later upgraded it. No damage was immediately reported.

 

The earthquake happened near where several others have happened before in Reno County, The Hutchinson News reported.

 

Kansas began seeing a spike in earthquakes in 2014 that were blamed on wastewater injection wells from oil and gas production. The number of quakes began tapering off after oil prices dropped and regulations were enacted.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is as of now including in the U.S. Senate impeachment trial rules a “kill switch” that effectively allows for the president’s legal team to seek an immediate verdict or dismissal of the case should Democrats engage in any shenanigans like they did in the House process. The revelation comes after the House finally late last week formally sent the Articles of Impeachment it adopted before Christmas—after holding them for more than a month without transmission—to the U.S. Senate, thereby triggering the start of a Senate trial. The Senate will formally commence its trial procedures in votes this coming week, and while some Republicans want to outright dismiss the charges altogether from the outset, others believe a trial should take place.

 

In so finally transmitting the Articles of Impeachment to the Senate, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi also named impeachment case managers—the Democrats who will present and manage the House’s case to the Senate—last week. They include House Intelligence Committee Chairman Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) and House Judiciary Committee Chairman Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY). Both Schiff and Nadler were widely panned for the highly unfair process they ran in the House of Representatives, and many Senate Republicans do not trust them to refrain from playing games that seek to make the Senate trial unfair to the president as the highly partisan process in the House ended up. Republicans on the House side, who were essentially powerless to stop the Democrats’ shenanigans since they are in the minority in the lower chamber, are warning Senate Republicans to be on the lookout for Schiff’s gamesmanship and that from his ilk. “It’s incumbent upon the Senate to preserve the right of the President’s legal team to ask for a verdict or move to dismiss this sham impeachment anytime they see fit during the Senate trial,” a source close to House GOP leadership told Breitbart News. “Otherwise, Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans risk allowing Adam Schiff and his conspiracy caucus to hijack and take control of the trial.”

 

Senate GOP leaders, including Sen. Roy Blunt (R-MO)—the conference chair—say there are not yet enough votes to dismiss the charges altogether from the outset. But Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO), a freshman senator who emerged as a top ally of the president and had previously drafted a measure dismissing the charges if the House did not formally transmit them by changing Senate rules to do so, has said that the rules package for the impeachment trial includes a measure that allows for the president’s legal team to quickly push for a summary judgment or dismissal at any time should things get wild.

 

Hawley’s original measure that would have dismissed the charges altogether before the House formally transmitted them to the Senate by changing Senate rules was co-sponsored by several GOP senators including McConnell—the GOP leader—and thereby forced Pelosi’s hand, making her finally transmit the Articles after holding them up for a month.

China Reports 3rd Death, 136 New Infections, Due to Viral Pneumonia

 

Chinese authorities on Jan. 19 reported one new death as a result of a viral pneumonia. Also, another 136 patients were infected, raising the global number of infections to more than 200.

 

That is the largest increase since the virus first emerged in the central Chinese city of Wuhan in late December.

 

The pneumonia disease has killed three so far, all from Wuhan.

 

The Imperial College London’s Medical Research Council Centre for Global Infectious Disease Analysis released a report on Jan. 17, in which researchers estimated that 1,723 people in Wuhan could potentially have the illness.

 

The calculation was based on the number of infection cases outside of China, the number of passengers at the Wuhan airport, daily international passengers flying out of Wuhan, and the number of days before the international cases are discovered.

Woman captures cloud photo of 'Jesus with his arm outstretched'

A United Kingdom woman was left stunned after she snapped an "eerie" photo of a cloud some say looks like Jesus.

 

Caroline Hawthorne was making a cup of tea at her house Jan. 4 in West Midlands, England, when she spotted the image outside her kitchen window, Daily Mail reported.

 

"It was really odd — the sky was quite cloudy and there was this weird cloud formation," Hawthorne said after sending the photo to friends and family.

A strange cloud spotted by Caroline Hawthorne over her house in Birmingham which she says looks like a looming Jesus figure.

 

She added, "People have been telling me it looks like an angel or Jesus with his arms outstretched."

 

Hawthorne said the Saturday morning clouds looked like a tornado but she wanted to grab a photo on her iPhone before it disappeared.

 

"It was so bizarre and I've never seen anything like it," she said.

 

This isn't the first time believers have claimed to see their Savior depicted in nature.

 

In May, a man in Argentina took a photo of sunlight shining through the clouds that look like an image of Christ. Then in March, a similar image was captured by a man in Italy during sunset and in April, a Lynchburg, Va. woman, said she saw Jesus in the rocks on a walk in the woods.

I'm a GenX expat watching from half the globe away, in an Asian nation where everything is freakishly and infuriatingly normal. It's hard to go about daily living in this society, seeing what I can see and knowing what I know.

I downloaded all 5 and discovered a world of crap that I knew but don't want to revisit. I started looking up the information in these pdf's and they are all about people involved in one way or another to children. CPS, medical experimentation Murders child trafficking etc. and on and on. There were also a numbe rof things pointing to connections with Pelosi, Shitt, Epstein and a host of others. How Patriots neutralized the false flag -

 

  1. They muted turnout, knowing that the aim of DeepState was to overwhelm Richmond Public Services & Law Enforcement.

  2. They brought Cameras and photographed everything, every building , every vehicle, every person all city services.

  3. They refused to protest in the gun free zone and instead protested around the perimeter of the gun free zone.

  4. They came heavily armed.

Earlier this month CNN agreed to settle a lawsuit with Covington Catholic student Nick Sandmann, but the amount of the settlement was concealed from the public.

 

Sandmann’s lawyers filed an $800 million lawsuit against CNN, WaPo and NBC Universal after the outlets used a selectively edited video to make Nick Sandmann and his fellow Covington friends look like they harassed Nathan Phillips, a Native American who attended the Indigenous Peoples March in DC.

 

Sandmann’s lawyer Lin Wood told Fox News last year that “CNN was probably more vicious in its direct attacks on Nicholas than The Washington Post. And CNN goes into millions of individuals’ homes.”

 

“They really went after Nicholas with the idea that he was part of a mob that was attacking the Black Hebrew Israelites, yelling racist slurs at the Black Hebrew Israelites. Totally false,” Wood said last year as he was preparing to sue CNN. “Now you say you’ve seen the tape; if you took the time to look at the full context of what happened that day, Nicholas Sandmann did absolutely nothing wrong. He was, as I’ve said to others, he was the only adult in the room. The $250 million lawsuit against WaPo is still working its way through the legal system after WaPo failed to get the case dismissed.

Iran will leave pact barring it from getting nukes if complaint over 2015 deal filed with UN – Zarif

 

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif warned that the country will ditch the 1968 Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) if EU states file a complaint over its nuclear commitments with the UN Security Council.

 

"If the Europeans continue their improper behavior or send Iran's file to the Security Council, we will withdraw from the NPT," Zarif said on Monday, as quoted by IRNA.

 

Last week, France, Germany and Britain formally lodged a complaint that Tehran is violating the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on Iran's nuclear program. The countries now have up to 60 days to resolve the dispute. Otherwise, the issue can be brought before the UN Security Council, which would vote whether to re-impose international sanctions on Iran.

 

Zarif called the decision to launch the complaint a "political game." The diplomat explained that the country has been scaling down its commitments under the JCPOA in accordance with the mechanisms laid out in the agreement, and had only done so after the US abandoned the deal in 2018 and re-imposed sanctions on Iran.

 

US President Donald Trump labelled the deal "defective at its core" and accused Iran of secretly violating it. Iran denied this, and multiple reports by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) at the time confirmed that the Islamic Republic was complying with the agreement.

 

Iran began gradually decreasing its commitments under the JCPOA a year later, and repeatedly said that it will return to full compliance once the EU provides some relief from the US sanctions. The country stopped following the deal altogether earlier this month, shortly after a US drone strike in Iraq killed senior Iranian military commander Qassem Soleimani.

Chief Justice Roberts Roped Into Battle Over Impeachment Witnesses

 

As the Senate prepares to begin the President Trump's impeachment trial on Tuesday, Chief Justice John Roberts faces pressure from both sides over the issue of witnesses.

New Bill to Allow Cops to Detain Citizens, Force Them to Explain Who They Are, What They’re Doing

 

Kentucky — An ominous bill that is currently making its way through the Kentucky Senate aims to give police unprecedented unconstitutional powers. These new powers will allow cops to stop anyone they want and demand that person tell them who they are, where they are going, and explain their actions. Naturally, it has civil rights advocates up in arms, but it doesn’t seem to be slowing down the bill’s momentum.

 

Police merely need to make an unsubstantiated claim that a person is involved in criminal activity which gives them free reign to stop that person, demand his name, home address and age — as well as ask to see his driver’s license, if he has one — and tell him to explain what he is presently doing “to the satisfaction of the officer.”

 

If you invoke your constitutional right not to answer the officer’s questions, this new bill grants cops the right to detain you for two hours. Even more ominous is the fact that this detainment is not considered an arrest so you have no right to an attorney and police don’t even have to record it. This non-arrest grey area detention will undoubtedly be rife for abuse.

 

Nevertheless, advocates for the police state tyranny say cops must have this new ability—to keep us safe. As Kentucky.com reports, Sen. Stephen Meredith, R-Leitchfield, said Grayson County law enforcement officials asked him for the bill after a number of local incidents showed the need for it.

 

“If a man acts suspicious, then why wouldn’t you want to know what his name is?” Meredith said in an interview. “I can’t imagine any legitimate reason in the world why a person would refuse to give their name and photo identification to a police officer if they were asked.”

 

In other words, if you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear…or, in other words, submit to the police state. Wrong!

 

Well Sen. Meredith, we’d like to educate you in why a person would refuse to talk to police—because it is our right not to! Legislation like this is straight out of the playbook of every tyranny in history. Remember “Ihre Papiere, Bitte”?

Khan ‘losing control of our streets’: 3 killed in London stabbing frenzy, prompting calls for new mayor

 

The knife crime epidemic in London continues after three men, believed to be from the Sikh community, were stabbed to death, prompting calls for a change of mayor amid claims Sadiq Khan has “lost control of our streets.”

Souderton, PA — A former Army veteran and police officer was convicted on multiple counts for being a distributor and possessing over 4,000 images of the most disturbing child pornography. Matthew Laver, 38, of Souderton, PA was violating the laws he was sworn to uphold while taking a paycheck as a law enforcement officer. On Thursday, this disgusting villain was sentenced to 12 years in prison. While it may not seem like a very long sentence, it is a significant amount of time considering most cops in his position do little to no time behind bars.

 

“This is an appalling case,” U.S. Attorney William McSwain said in a statement. “The defendant was a member of a law enforcement organization charged with enforcing the law and protecting the public, but he was actually a child predator.”

 

Even though Laver had quit the police force in Montgomery County three years before being arrested and convicted, prosecutors were quick to point out his addiction to kiddie porn dated back to his time in the Army and throughout his service as a law enforcement officer.

 

Laver’s child porn stash was located on his phone, his external hard drive as well as his computer. According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, Assistant U.S. Attorney Eileen Castillo Zelek stated in court filings:

 

While responsible for enforcing the law, Laver himself was flagrantly violating it, and preying upon the most vulnerable of victims — young children.

 

Some of those children were infants who were sexually exploited on film for Laver’s pleasure and distribution. It’s unclear at this point to whom the former soldier and police officer was sharing his horrific content. First Assistant U.S. Attorney Jennifer Arbittier Williams stated:

 

The harm caused by child exploitation is devastating and long-lasting, which is why we prosecute these cases aggressively…In this case, the conduct was particularly egregious because the defendant was a member of a law enforcement organization charged with enforcing the law. We stand ready with our federal and local partners to identify and prosecute all those who would prey upon minor children.

 

The prosecution is a result of the collaborative work of many agencies as a part of Project Safe Childhood. Marlon V. Miller, Special Agent in charge of HSI Philadelphia said:

 

Law enforcement officers take an oath to serve and protect, thus our conduct must be beyond reproach…Homeland Security Investigations special agents worked closely with our law enforcement partners to further prevent this perpetrator from victimizing children by distributing images of sexual assault.

 

While he was a police officer, Laver spent 10 years online disseminating his collection of horrifying child porn which depicted sexual assault and rape of children as young as infants. According to MDJonline:

 

The initial investigation of Laver began in September 2018 when Bucks County authorities shared information with Montgomery County detectives about child pornography allegedly being downloaded from a computer at Laver’s home.

 

On July 30 into July 31, investigators using a file-sharing program connected to Laver’s computer and downloaded nine files containing child pornography, Beaghley alleged in the original criminal complaint. All of the files contained videos or images depicting children under 18 engaged in sexual acts or poses, according to the arrest affidavit.

Fake Investigations – Designed To Fool You

 

Many government officials with long entrenched power are unwilling to give up any of that power. In their minds, they have a right to control our lives as they see fit, with complete indifference to our wishes. To avoid rebellion, they need to hide this fact as much as possible. They want the citizens to believe the lie that we are a nation of laws with equal justice under the law. To advance this lie, they have staged many theatrical productions that they call “investigations”. They try to give us the impression that they want to expose the facts and punish wrongdoing.

 

Most of the big ‘investigations’ in the news in recent years have not been at all what they pretended to be. The sham investigations of Hillary’s email, or the Clinton Foundation, or Weiner’s laptop, or Uranium One, or Mueller’s witch hunt, or Huber’s big nothing, or the IG’s whitewash, or the Schiff-Pelosi charades, have all been premeditated deceptions.

 

There are three types of investigations that call for different deceptions by the Deep State. The first type is the rare honest investigation. Examples would be the attempt to find the truth about Fast and Furious (Obama’s gunrunning operation), or the IRS scandal (Obama’s weaponizing of government). In response to real investigations, the criminals do two things… lie and hide evidence. Key evidence, even if it is under subpoena, just disappears. In the IRS case, Lois Lerner’s relevant email and the email of 6 others involved in the scheme was just “lost”. The IRS “worked tirelessly” to find the email, but hard drives had been destroyed and back-up drives were missing, so the subpoenaed evidence could not be provided.

 

For the Deep State, hiding and destroying evidence of guilt is standard operating procedure. They simply report a “glitch” that destroyed the key evidence and that’s the end of it. Or, they simply redact the portions of the record that would expose the truth. To my memory, no one ever suffers any consequences for this. Even now, Director Wray and others are tenaciously withholding evidence.

 

The second type of ‘investigation’ is when the Deep State pretends to investigate the Deep State. In these ‘investigations’ the outcome is known in advance, but the script calls for pretending, sometimes for years, that it an honest investigation is underway.

 

There was nothing about the Hillary investigations that had anything to do with finding facts. The purpose from the beginning was exoneration. Key witnesses were given immunity and many were allowed to attend each other’s interviews. There were no early morning swat team raids to gather evidence. Evidence was destroyed with no consequences.

The New York City Sergeants Benevolent Association (SBA), a police union representing the city’s active and retired sergeants, blamed Mayor Bill de Blasio for the death of a 92-year-old woman.

 

A 92-year-old woman, Maria Fuentes, was sexually assaulted and murdered on the streets of NYC earlier in January. The man suspected of killing her, Reeaz Khan, is an illegal alien who had been arrested by the New York Police Department in November 2019, but was released and never handed over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) because of the city’s strict sanctuary policy.

 

The SBA on Sunday said Fuentes would still be alive if the city’s police force had been allowed to comply with ICE’s immigration detainer request, and declared that her death was on de Blasio.

 

“At what point DO YOU take responsibility for a 92 year old woman raped and murdered. If you complied with ICE Detainers she would still be alive. You try to deflect the issue by turning it into exploitation, the FACT is her death is on YOU,” the SBA tweeted at the NYC mayor.

Top Cop Involved in Failed ‘Asian’ Rape Gang Investigation Promoted to Chief of Child Exploitation Unit

 

A senior police detective who was involved in an operation that failed to go after a predominantly Pakistani child rape gang has been elevated to a top position dealing with sexual abuse against children.

 

Tony Cook, an investigating officer in the failed Operation Augusta, was promoted to the head of operations at the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre in Manchester four years ago, despite the institutional failure of the operation to protect children from a Pakistani grooming gang in the mid-2000s.

 

In a report last week detailing the failures of Operation Augusta, it was revealed that officers were told to focus on arresting grooming gang offenders of “other ethnicities” so as to not appear racist.

 

Detective Cook has denied that race played a role in the failure of the operation, saying in comments reported by The Times: “Any concerns about creating further community tensions did not influence any of his investigative decisions.”

 

The report, which relied heavily on Cook’s notes from the time, paints a different picture, however, quoting the inspector as saying there were “sensitive community issues” around the case and that perpetrators were “predominantly adult Asian men”.

 

Maggie Oliver, a former detective turned whistleblower on the failed operation, recommended that senior officers in the case should be prosecuted.

 

“I want the law changing so there can be retrospective accountability for people whose duty it is to protect the vulnerable. It’s knowing and deliberate neglection of duty… [those who were involved] should be charged with gross misconduct — it’s criminal — where is the accountability?” the former detective said.

 

Operation Augusta was initiated after a 15-year-old girl, Victoria Agoglia, died after being injected with heroin by her 50-year-old Asain male abuser, a man who the report claimed remains unpunished to this day.

 

The operation was shut down due to the inability “to put permanent staff into Operation Augusta”, claimed another senior officer. The report insisted that Tony Cook had no role in the shutting down of the operation.

A Lot Of USA Chanting’ No Antifa, What is Happening At The VA Gun Rights Rally?

 

Gun rights activists have taken to the grounds of the state Capitol in Richmond, Virginia Monday as the state legislature moves forward measures threatening their second amendment rights. Federal law enforcement had issued warnings to some federal employees that the militant group Antifa was expected to attend the rally but thus far, there have been no incidents or escalations in violence.

 

Sources on the ground described the protest to SaraACarter.com as peaceful with attendance in the thousands. One told this news site that there’s “a lot of chanting USA.”

 

Government and law enforcement officials told this news site that they were warned not to attend the rally stating that Antifa would seek to blend into the crowds of gun rights protestors by wearing conservative and pro-gun clothing. Gun owners were also told to be aware of thieves trying to steal guns from their vehicles, according to the warning issued by government officials.

 

Several reports indicate, however, that Antifa won’t be present for fear of retaliation. Antifa Seven Hills, which is based in Richmond, wrote in a statement that the group “never indicated we were attending as a group, nor did we make any call to action for folks to engage in the way that is being purported.”

 

President Donald Trump took to Twitter Monday to show solidarity with the protestors. “The Democrat Party in the Great Commonwealth of Virginia are working hard to take away your 2nd amendment rights. This is just the beginning. Don’t let it happen, VOTE REPUBLICAN in 2020!” he wrote.

 

In anticipation of the event, Gov. Northam declared a state of emergency last week warning citizens of ‘credible threats of violence surrounding the event, along with white nationalist rhetoric, and plans by out-of-state militia groups to attend.’

 

“The Governor’s declaration prohibits all weapons, including firearms, from Capitol grounds, and will provide joint law enforcement and public safety agencies the resources they need to keep demonstrators, policymakers, and all Virginians safe,” the Governor’s office wrote in a statement.

 

A petition to appeal the Executive Order was struck down last week by the VA Supreme Court in support of Democrat Virginia Governor Ralph Northam’s executive order.

 

The new gun control bills are moving quickly through the state legislature. Last week, three bills to limit citizen’s access to guns and even seize guns from existing gun owners moved through the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Hackers targeted American Thinker after it put up a post about Q

 

But here's an interesting coincidence: since January 14, the day American Thinker published Franklin's take on Q, the site has experienced several attempted hacks, something that's never happened before.

 

On January 15, someone identified as from Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam tried to get into American Thinker's email account. At the same time, the first person from American Thinker who tried to sign into the account was then locked out of his computer because malware was trying to install itself.

 

On January 17, another hacker attempted to get into the American Thinker email. Once again, thankfully, the system appeared to have foiled the attempt by shutting down before anything bad happened. On the same day, another editor at American Thinker watched a computer tied to that same email account abruptly die.

 

On January 19, the email system again stopped working, rebuffing people's attempts to sign in. This time, the attempt came from the Persian Gulf.

 

On January 20, the back-end of American Thinker was the subject of an attack, locking out the editors entirely. Fortunately, American Thinker has superb tech support, so the lockdown was quickly foiled.

 

As mentioned above, the human mind is hardwired to find connections, even where none exists. While that ability can occasionally lead us to the wrong places, it exists so that we can organize the chaos that is the world around us, enabling people to locate food and shelter and distinguish friend from foe. This could just have been American Thinker's week to get hacked, or American Thinker might have put a target on its back.

 

Nevertheless, just in case either Q is the real deal or Q's opponents are worried (or know) that Q is the real deal, American Thinker will continue to post occasionally about the Q phenomenon in order to keep readers informed about what's either a really cool military operation or a really persuasive, giant conspiracy hoax.
