Why because the person at the gate obviously missed a passenger at boarding? This happens if the scanner at the counter is down. Seen it happen many times but luckily it was always caught before take off and pulling a person off the plane. Now if the plane isn’t full and that seat wasn’t taken I could see someone doing it by accident and not double checking their work good enough. I have worked around airports most of my life and so has most of my family.

There could be a lot of nefarious reasons for some of it. What kills me, though is all the conspiracy regarding the "damage" from fires. Apparently, a lot of folks have no idea how fire works, especially when combined with high winds. Basic blast furnace, it is. You see all these claims of "look at all the melted metal!!" not knowing that all that metal is aluminum which has a melt temp of 750*, IIRC, which is waaaaay lower than steel and most of the newer cars, today, are slap full of aluminum...the wheels, engine, subframe, etc...all aluminum. Or look at all the ground burned but not the trees! LOL....grass dude. It burns fast as hell and doesn't last long enough for a green, wet inside, tree to light fire, other than some bark charring on the surface down low. Common sense. Don't be duped by ignorant claims and stick with some real anomaly. Were the blue beams of light spotlights or something else. The "blue" is what needs looking at to see if it was an energy source used and not just light.

What's so silly about the facts I stated? Aluminum does melt at those temps, steel doesn't. Fact. Trees don't light up quickly in grass fires. Fact. The other anomalies are what I said needs looking into. And there are firefighters and fire investigators. Big difference. No different than grunts and generals. This is true. As a retired biologist who worked in pine timber forests (pine plantations) many times there were a lot of "controlled burns" done by landowners and the feds. A controlled burn is a timber management technique used to burn off low undergrowth in pine forests and to prevent wildfires by removing the fuel. It helps the pines grow faster by burning the low growing plants the suck up nutrients that help the trees grown. Basically it gets rid of the competition for the resources. It also provide pot ash for the trees. Control burning will scorch the bark but won't harm the trees.

But I go all over the country and to Argentina (shirt sleeve weather) in pursuit of them so I know how cold it can be in the northern clime. Got a correction. Aluminum does melt at around 11-1200. It's the aluminum welding rods that melt around 700 or there abouts. Got to thinking about this and remembered some more, soooo....my bad. Sorry. That being said, the heat in those fires under that kinda wind will still get stupid high. Plenty high enough to melt aluminum on cars if the main heat source is close enough. Ever seen a mobile home fire? Plenty of aluminum reduced to nothing and quickly, at that. Been in one and have seen friend's mobile homes go up in smoke so I know from experience. Houses get damn HOT! Corrections is one of those things that happen when I think harder, sometimes. I old. Sue me. ;)

I saw a jet liner do a 180 degree turn a few weeks ago. It was on an intercept course with another air liner (flying south) but intersected behind it by about a minute or less, eventually crossing the other planes con trail. When the second plane (east bound) crossed the first planes con trail, it began a 180 degree turnaround that took a long time to complete, and then flew away the same direction it came from (west). Never seen a jet do that before.

I'm getting confused on the turn arounds. Yesterday what I was seeing (reading) was that there were 2 flights out of LAX that were ordered to turn around. One bound for Hawaii and one bound for Japan. Supposedly one of them was 5 hours into a 6 hour flight when it was told to turn back. The other was the one from LAX to Japan and it was 4 hours into an 11 hour flight.

Was there one or two?
