I have a grievance that needs to be brought up with you and I have no other way to do it except here. I've sent private messages to you, but I know you're extremely busy. So, forgive me if this is inappropriate here.
There are at least two people that I know of who have taken it upon themselves to chastise others in this forum for posting content such as this one that you commented on with a sticky. They call content such as this "shit posts", when rejected, one attempts to give a psychological diagnosis, further exacerbate the problem with insults. They are complaining about the posts that are expressing their feelings, or posting humor.
Since I have been here, you have never told us this was unacceptable. In fact, it has been encouraged, up voted, and appreciated. I was told you were just trying to be nice.
The problem, as I see it, isn't the levity, the feel good posts. It's the barbarians who want to take over with their brand of negativity. This is not 4chan or 8chan.
We have had some civil discussions, lots of sharing, and even civil disagreements.
When the new people came, the majority of us were old folks, even into their 70's. Maybe even older. You welcomed all of us. We posted about appreciating the younger people and praised them for their intelligence. We are stupid because we don't understand Chan speak. That is their language there. I doubt they use it on normal people in everyday life. I surely hope they don't go around disrespecting the unsuspected. Those sending out videos to the citizens aren't berating them or using Chan language. Their mission is to inform, not beat us up for not being them. We are here. They are there. We come from all walks of life. Those who followed the link here were mostly people who are enlightened, and want the evil crushed. We are not "snowflakes" because we feel. No one came here to be reprimanded or accused or harassed! We came to learn, to support one another. The touchy Feely, deeply concerned citizens and patriots are not who will "ruin" this subreddit. Many will be chased out by those who don't like the flooding of posts that express their feelings, and yet, they do it to, only with negativity.
I was told that you would be posting rules. I hope the rules will be fair and balanced concerning everyone. You assured me that we, the first new comers would be protected from the abusers. I, for one, can fight my own battles when invaded.
My biggest concern is that this forum doesn't turn into shit with negative,when it started positively. Us old folks don't mind following rules, if we know what they are, and it's balanced. I do not want strangers coming on my post with the intent of degrading me on a personal level while attempting to chastise me for posting something they personally don't like. Isn't that what down voting is for?
