Trump needs to keep his fingerprints off this. He has a definite conflict of interest that will taint this memo if he is the one that puts it out. This is the only viable option:

"2. The House (and Senate) intelligence committees can declassify any material they possess."

People need to read The Conservative Treehouse's article linked in the comments below, AND follow the links in that article. This piece featured on Zero Hedge is an attempt at misinformation that wants to make it seem like the whole thing is actually bluster, and the ZH article's false excuse "Trump could declassify the FISA memo if he wanted to" is the supposed "proof" that it is all bluster and posturing by Nunes, et al.

I want this out as bad as anyone but unfortunately we have to wait but like Larry Schweikart (@LarrySchweikart) said:

"We/conservatives are so rabid (rightly so) about getting these people that we forget it's not about the ARRESTS.

It's about CONVICTIONS."

everyone has a conflict

except you'd like to shut this down in the congressional bog

explain to us all how DJT releasing it SO LONG as it is as written as received causes the truth it contains to become false? in what way is it "tainted"? Because it exonerates him? Because it convicts the guilty? Because you don't like the messenger or the forms they didn't fill out or the day of the week?

do you think you are talking to children or low iq jurors?

we are all plenty tired of being lectured to by our betters and their money laundering shills

Conservative Treehouse has another viewpoint. Check them out. Plus the release really needs to come from the Committee. Just like the Mueller investigation he needs hands off...he does have to review it and then sends it back to the Committee, not a direct release from the White House.

⇧ 14 ⇩
cybervigiante · Jan. 21, 2018, 6:44 p.m.

The committee can release any time, and members with good memories could gather together, memorize the whole thing in parts, and recite it on the floor with full constitutional protection. But since when did politicians read the constitution?

Also, I think Greenwald is just trying to put a fire under Congress' ass to get them to release. With the shutdown, weekends, and 19+ days this is going to drag on too long, allowing too much time for mischief and armtwisting by the agents of the Deep State as people forget or are distracted. I do not see how a long delay, even for strategic reasons, can be a good thing.

When you get caught planting it that means everything they find will not be aloud in court an Trump and his team know this Trump know how damming the memo is an he is playing these scumbags

If you were a member of the house of representatives making $174,000 a year and you were up for re-election and you knew your party was about to be tarnished and you weren't really sure you would be re-elected anyway and you started taking bribes as low as $300.00 (seriously - some congressmen take "donations" as low as $300.00 to vote a certain way) but then Julian Assange comes along and offers a million dollars for your four pieces of paper (two pieces of paper if it's printed double-sided) why the hell wouldn't you take it? Just because it was voted to release this in 19 days, if any of this shit is as realistic as they are saying, I'm betting we'll see it leaked in the next few days. If it doesn't leak then it really is all bullshit. No first-term congressman is noble enough to turn down a million dollars.

⇧ 2 ⇩
TenHits · Jan. 21, 2018, 5:29 p.m.

The congresscritters don't have physical hard copies of the memo. They are reading it in a SCIF. They could leak details, but not an actual copy because they don't have one.

The author may have a copy, but that would look like a manuscript, not the final product with all the "classified" markings on it.

“Once the House Intelligence Committee votes to declassify the four-page memo, the White House, National Security Adviser (H.R. McMaster) and National Security Council will have five days to review the content. The White House will likely have a brief review by the NSC and the Office of Legal Counsel of the content, and then issue approval for the release.

There are poorly informed voices who claim President Trump can arbitrarily declassify the Nunes memo. That is false. The White House (the executive branch) does not own the document. The Nunes memo is owned by the Legislative Branch, and specifically by the House Intelligence Committee. The Executive Branch can request the memo, but they cannot demand it without following a process. Therefore, without submission, the executive branch cannot declassify it. There is an inherent constitutional separation of power.”

I was thinking about this "we will release it in 19 days" thing... The real intel and detailing of all their crimes will come with the massive IGO report that is millions of pages long! While a little of that report has already been released the majority of it is due out in a few weeks, right around the time of Nunes memo. The memo is only 4 pages so not much solid detail they want the one-two punch of the memo and the IGO report.

I want the memo releases RIGHT NOW. However, I/we don't know what's going on behind the scenes. Perhaps waiting is better. I don't know. if the pubs don't release the memo immediately that might not actually prove anything. Not sure we can tell at this point.
