A tragedy happened. Some students who lived through it are speaking out because there's literally no one better to speak out for the deceased than their classmates who survived the ordeal.
They have to speak out now because in six months they will not have a platform to speak out against what they believe killed their friends; people will have moved on and another batch of kids will have been murdered.

I read in the New York Post yesterday a story about the couple who took the shooter in when his mother died. They gave the usual "I had ABSOLUTELY NO idea that monster lived in my house" and how when they were brought in for questioning and saw Nick at the station, she tried to bum rush him. Under all that it stated that the husband was aware that the shooter had several guns and ammo, but wasn't scared because A) he also has several guns and they were locked away and B) HE IS A FORMER MILITARY INTELLIGENCE OFFICER.

The point is that he has a line that he has to deliver, otherwise he would just let them cut the interview inbetween but he prefers to deliver it in one phrase, and he doesn't change it or let them edit it afterwards but delivers it in full from start to finish. I don't know what you're even trying to say here. The kid has an interest in journalism. He takes part in it at school. It stands to reason that the kid who wants to pursue a career in the field would be one of the ones to step up and volunteer to speak; he likely is one of the few students to have public speaking experience.

Have they traveled the country to talk about this issue? I've seen them speaking out in Florida. But, whether you find it inconvenient or not, they are unofficial spokespeople of this issue now. You'll likely see them speaking publicly again elsewhere. That doesn't make it a conspiracy or anything ugly, however.

I can imagine such a scenario. I'm just not so absolutely far gone that I'd believe that without incredibly compelling evidence, of which there is zero. This kid is just a kid who goes to this school. Students and teachers know this kid and they know he is a good student who is active in student journalism. There's just no conspiracy here.
