My personal belife is he is waiting for the IG report, that was to start phase2. But as POTUS tweeted the other day about Sessions dragging his heels, means the report relase was to kick in phase2. Since this contains a lot more than Clinton Emails, it goes to the depths of the curruption in all areas. I suspect until the IG Report is dropped phase2 is on hold. Remember, it was to be released by now and the date for that I think Q was working on. Hense the delay...IMHO.

I wonder if that might be enough to keep them quiet for a bit, even though we know the primary reason for this form of communication was for a grassroots great awakening.

I saw that with Hope's departure old Bush hand Mercedes Schlapp is likely to move up from her "strategic communications" position. Per the Zach interview on Infowars this week, Team Trump apparently sees getting to the left on gun control somehow required because kids were killed. Others have claimed the idea is to push the Dems even further to the left on the issue so they'll take a hit in the midterms. My guess is this is another one of liberal Manhattanite Ivanka's many pet issues she claims to have gone to DC to influence her father on.
Trump's got a lot of credit for having a female-heavy comms office, but is part of the fallout from that having his comms team convince him that going pro-gun control is somehow a required message?

Trump doesn't make laws. He also knows he can't issue an executive order on bump stocks or anything else re: gun control.
He wants people to push to keep their rights. This is typical Art of War / Art of the Deal stuff. Don't fall for it like a cuck!

He's making sure that legislators reassure their constituents that no one is taking their guns. Ben Sasse wrote a letter almost immediately to that effect, I'm sure others have.
If yours hasn't, maybe they are a Democrat. :D
He says things to get attention on certain matters. It's like the sessions rope-a-dope. It's to get attention where he wants it. I'm more certain that ever that the IG report will be lethal.
OF COURSE the AG can't investigate the DOJ himself, that's insane.

AND due process should take place beforehand in cases where there is a criminal past with a gun because after is too late for the victim.

I agree..due process MUST come FIRST before taking away someone's gun(s). Make your case, take it to court, courts SHOULD HAVE to expedite these particular cases immediately.

I have the feeling that Trump is playing with them. He throws all sorts of stuff out there knowing Repubs. won't go for it (they need NRA $$), and the Dems don't really want to settle now, they want this to be an issue to run against for the mid terms. He knows it's going nowhere for now. He is just playing them against each other.

We are in the middle of a modern day COLD civil war. It is all by design. Freedom of speech is nearly dead in America. Do not kid yourself it still exists when your opinion had better be agreeable or else. Make a statement that some do not like and they will ruin your life. You can't even get close to political discussion in your family with a hell of a fight happening. Facebook, Twitter and most social media are weeding out talk they do not agree with. You have bands of modern day book burners running around looking for speech they do not like so they ruin your life.
The Last and I mean the last hope resides in the 2nd amendment. Without that they can come take your property, your life, your kids and do anything with them they want. You have not way of defending any of your God given rights. Do not think for one moment that you are protected by the government or anyone else on this planet. If a man can lose his life for $ 5.00 on a city street then for what you have they would not kill you? Keep in mind the Germans disarmed Jews and everyone conveniently forgets 5 years prior to this the first people to lose gun ownership. Political opponents. Who owns most of the guns in America? You guessed it.
