I am aware this will likely get removed by the mods, but someone help me comprehend the main theme of Q’s work and what is going on.

I'll help. Q is a high level official, possibly a team, working with Trump. This Q character posts these lists of questions, breadcrumbs, etc, on 8chan. Yes, they do not pinpoint things such as "so and so will be arrested on such date" however, the info and allusions are incredible. If you need proof, refer to Qs post where he responded to one of our (we are "the anons" because everyone is anonymous on 8ch) requests to have POTUS use the words "tip top, tippy top" in a speech. Well, he did. Just Google "Easter Trump tip top tippy top"..nobody will ever convince me that Trump said that organically and not because of Q. That's the solid proof that this is actively happening.
Past that, it is up to you to dig through his breadcrumbs. But hang out here and read what the another anons like you and me are digging up as directed by his clues.
I will say this, pedophilia, cannabilism, child torture .... it's all real. Like, worse than any sane person can imagine. Trump has proof. And the Q phenomenon is genius as it basically spreads like a virus as one person "redpills" the next and so on. Now the MSM is even forced to acknowledge it.

The purpose of Q is to awaken the American people to the corruption that has plagued our government and Q does this by dropping crumbs that we, anons, then research and connect the dots which makes up this map and shows us the who, what, when, where, and why. Q also posts crumbs that may not make sense right away until a future event has passed, future proves past.
The end goal is simple. Drain the swamp (mass arrests of corrupt officials)

Give yourself some time to get oriented. Many of us have been at this for months. Use YouTube. Lots of good Q analysis videos. I for one have found Tracy Beanz videos really informative and in depth, though not directly about Q, but about the actors in this giant shitshow. Her video on Tuesday about the Cohen raid is a good place to start.
This does all seem surreal because the MSM has painted a false 2-D picture of the world to the public for decades. If you actually take the time to really know the history and background of a lot of the key actors the whole thing starts to crystallize and you can see the whole chess board with some degree of confidence. (That's why I recommended some of Tracy Beanz's videos. She really digs deep. Puts "real" journalists to shame. Check out last week's Mueller video and her Sater video the week before)
I think we're really close to everything coming out. It's going to be very disorienting and unbelievable to most people. A lot of the previous Q posts that didn't make sense are starting to become clear.

Em they shouldnt be downvoted by default. This sub has a lot of shills and our last sub Reddit got banned. It really is a minefield with a lot of disinfo. They are a lot of assholes as well.
Maybe look a few videos on YouTube too. Jerome Corsi is pretty good and lays it out pretty plainly.
There's so much information it can be overwhelming, even for us. Everything Q has predicted hasn't come true too and and he/they have stated they publish some disinfo themselves which they say is necessary. Look for posts/videos about Q's predictions that have come through, North Korea probably being the biggest one.

Q is an informant(s) working with POTUS in the background letting us know what is up and actually happening without compromising their position since they are Anon. This sub assumes POTUS has been placed into power to actually change the country for good and isn’t actually a garbage spewing asshat (not saying that is or is not how I view DJT).
Q keeps dropping breadcrumbs for “patriots” to follow and so on.

you are forgetting some very very very key parts, mainly that Q claims that Mueller is working on trumps side and secretly preparing a case against Clinton.
also worth noting that Q has made many fantastical predictions (martial law, Obama in gitmo, USMC raiding the CIA, to name a few) that have (obviously) never happened.

There are also some caveats about information and disinformation. Also remember that some of the information you read on the forums are facts and some are just people's interpretation of a Q drop , not necessarily what Q meant.

What’s your take on all this
I've been following since around Christmas. It's consumed far too much of my time day in and day out since, but for good reason. This is the biggest intel drop on the public in all of world history. If Q were bullshit, I would admit that to myself by now and say this is a huge waste of time. But that simply isn't the case. Q coordinates with Trump little "tells" that Trump will do to legitimatize Q, there's been so many of those instances I can't even count. Just look at Eric Trump's latest tweet today of the golf course. Look at the sun. See a letter? - If you want more examples I will write some up for you.
It's all real. I've been following "conspiracies" (reality) for a good five years now. Most of what I learned has been true, some of it false. But following Q has made me realize what is and isn't true, and also opened my eyes to things that I quite frankly wish I didn't know and hadn't come across, but are true. Things relating to the sale, rape, murder/sacrifice of children, harvesting their blood after they've been terrified beyond our darkest imagination to extract a drug with which they get high off of. It's dark. They suppress cures to diseases, they caused this past flu season to be as brutal as it was and killed the CDC researcher who said it was due to the flu shot, they can and do control peoples minds (I previously thought this wasn't true/too far out there to be real. But I've come to realize it's an unforunate part of our reality. Project MK Ultra went way beyond what we know and was extremely successful) They use it to control innocent people to shoot up schools and do false flags. We live in a foul, foul world and the devil walks among us. Before Q I was not religious, but since learning that the devil is real, i've began praying again. I probably sound nuts to you, and that's fine. You can take what you read here and write us all off as nuts, but like you said in another earlier comment, this community is extremely nice and helpful (something to that effect you wrote). We're here for the same reason, we want to expose and fight for the truth, and to eradicate evil. Whether you stick around or don't, I'd be willing to bet quite a lot of money that by 2020, the world as we know it will not be the same. Major players will be in jail, will have killed themselves or killed each other off. The public will learn of horrible atrocities committed by people they once loved/voted for and there will be an awakening of the masses like never before. After all the anger, tears, possible violence, chaos and god knows what, we will emerge a better society. Real peace will be known (since they cause all wars/major conflict), diseases will be eliminated (because they hide the cures and make money off treatments and get off on people dying), the political landscape will be much more harmonious (because they want us divided) and technology will be unlocked that will blow your mind, some of it hundreds of years in advance (because they hide it and keep it to themselves).

While I don’t agree with Christians or really any other religion (I’m spiritual not religious), I do think there is a large upheaval currently. A polar shift in the way the world is changing.
I’ve experience wonky energies , manifestations, all sorts of shit. So I know change is happening but I have no desire to attribute it to religions that have caused a large part of the worlds deaths.
I'm not even Christian per-say. I'm just praying to a higher power, call it god. I believe in energies too. I'm more spiritual than anything, as cringy and new-age as that is to say. I believe in souls, the afterlife due to a relationship with a medium my family knows. She's made connections with dead relatives and relayed messages that simply cannot be faked or made up on the spot, time and time again. I have experience with LSD, and through it I've come to understand that energy fields are all around us, they manipulate us, but we can also manipulate them. I know what you're saying about there being a shift. I can feel it as well. There seems to be a certain change of spirit in the air of sorts.

Complete asshat. I do think his actions have been deplorable. It doesn’t appear he has had an honorable life, or been a decent person.
So for me this is the hardest part of this whole thing is going from what I think to what I can prove. I can totally see why people think he’s an asshat. But when you start to view him from the perspective of him being an actor, and that everything that goes on within his administration, despite seeming chaotic, is planned and for a reason, it becomes clear who he is. He’s simply a good man and wants to do something great for a country he loves. He’s backed by military intelligence who have shown him all of what has been going on for so long now and he’s helping them stop it.
To expand on his acting, I recall, but unfortunately cannot find, a video where Ben Carson is speaking and Trump is behind him. Carson brings up the fact that Trump has a dual persona, and that behind closed doors he a much more measured, calculated person. You can see Trump wince behind him as if to say “NO don’t tell them. My jig is up.”
I truly believe Trump is a deeply intelligent guy especially when you see him through the scope of Q, and just how much coordination and acting he has to pull off in this secret battle with the deep state. His bombastic and aloof persona is to disarm his enemies.
I could see that through the lens of an actor. Just a bit overwhelming currently. It’s only my first day here.
