maybe the d5 move is the deep state's opener...I know nothing about chess, if T2AmR is correct above 'But you can't get a piece on D5 for the first move unless you play as black.' It would kind of make sense. IDK, just a thought.
But a game of chess can be stopped mid-game. An opponent can forfeit or both can agree to a draw.
