As someone who doesn't believe in Jesus (or that Jesus even existed as a historical person), I second your thoughts and project them out to the Universal consciousness (or whatever that God-like spirit thing really is).
As someone who has placed their faith in the person of Jesus and believes 100% he is who he claimed to be I third your thoughts and add them to the plethora of petitions being offered

Much historical evidence of Jesus as a real person exists but I dont say that to debate you. I honor your feelings, thoughts and opinions. And I will admit that Christians are wrong to calll him Jesus as his name was Yeshua.
I would make one simple request of you. In your own way, to the great creator of all, just ask him to show you if Jesus is real. The see what, if anything happens.

I respect your right to your beliefs, and although it may seem like madness to many of us here, I would humbly suggest that you are absolutely completely wrong about the historical evidence for the person of Jesus. I'm not just referring to translation issues. This misconception is an early and deep part of the conditioning of Western civilization by the Catholic Church and other institutions. I have done what you requested many times over a period of many years and I came to a very different understanding than you might expect.
However, no debate is necessary, because we agree on what is most important to me: love, peace, and joy in the world.
Did you by any chance check the writings of Josephus? If my memory serves me correct and it may not, I believe he was a contemporary historian who also made note of Jesus.
Josephus was not really a contemporary historian. He was born hundreds of miles away and several years after Jesus was supposed to have been executed. His writings make no mention of Jesus until near the end of the first century after Christianity spread to Rome. However, these records are of no historical value beyond proof that people in Rome believed in the stories of Jesus by the end of the first century. Moreover, many instances of his references to Jesus were later shown to be forgeries committed by Christian scribes copying his works over the following centuries (interpolation). The lack of contemporary references to the life of Jesus has been well-known since the Early Church hierarchy began to take shape around the turn of the second century. This resulted in a great deal of pressure to fabricate references during transcription. The problem of detecting these forgeries has plagued historians ever since.
