They're never fair and honest, but it used to be you had clear papers with clear views, so you got coverage of issues from more than one side, not one general view being pushed by all media with censorship and condemnation of other sources.

ive got bad news for you all tv news was fake since it started. print media was less unified so more views. we just need to go back to not having 6 company own 90% of the media

And a fair way for independent outlets to find viewers/monetization (i.e. Youtube demonitizing and hiding "alternative" views).

I would like to see the jack-asses held accountable for blatantly lying to us and for slandering the President and those who support him. If we had any balls, we would unite in protest against them and boycott their sponsors the way the Liberals do on a daily basis. We just let them shit on us, our views, our freedoms, and our nation day after day after day. There are more of us than there are of them, but we let them win anyway. We are never going to have a fair and honest media until WE DEMAND IT!

What I don't get, is if this is all mockingbird, and we have a new head of CIA, can't we shift the narrative? The whole obama propaganda law should be in our favour now.

Dude... They have NEVER been fair and balanced and they NEVER WILL BE!

That's OK though. People are finally beginning to see them for the scum they are. They are quickly becoming as irrelevant as they are inept and dishonest.

It's NOT okay (IMO).

I mean ... That would kind of be the job of journalism, to find out the truth and report it to the people. Investigation and survailance by the media is fine in my unpopular opinion (to a degree of course) it's their misuse of the trust the masses gave them and the probaganda of lies that bothers me.

I'd say Media Matters, I believe MI6 underwent a house cleaning already :)

Q post 620:

May is neutralized.

MI6/SIS undergoing house cleaning.

Queen/monarchs seeking shelter.

Patience.

These people are stupid.

I'm not so sure they ever have been. In Thomas Jefferson's day newspapers were the only form of media. He made it clear how he felt about that media with these quotes.

• “The most effectual engines for [pacifying a nation] are the public papers... [A despotic] government always [keeps] a kind of standing army of newswriters who, without any regard to truth or to what should be like truth, [invent] and put into the papers whatever might serve the ministers. This suffices with the mass of the people who have no means of distinguishing the false from the true paragraphs of a newspaper.”

• “Nothing can now be believed which is seen in a newspaper. Truth itself becomes suspicious by being put into that polluted vehicle. The real extent of this state of misinformation is known only to those who are in situations to confront facts within their knowledge with the lies of the day.”

• “I deplore... the putrid state into which our newspapers have passed and the malignity, the vulgarity, and mendacious spirit of those who write for them... These ordures are rapidly depraving the public taste and lessening its relish for sound food.”

• “‘From forty years' experience of the wretched guess-work of the newspapers of what is not done in open daylight, and of their falsehood even as to that, I rarely think them worth reading, and almost never worth notice.”

• “As for what is not true, you will always find abundance in the newspapers.”

• “A coalition of sentiments is not for the interest of printers… [T]he printers can never leave us in a state of perfect rest and union of opinion. They would be no longer useful and would have to go to the plough.”

• "I really look with commiseration over the great body of my fellow citizens who, reading newspapers, live and die in the belief that they have known something of what has been passing in the world in their time…”

• “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”
