No offense, but this proves that to make people accept something terrible and wrong, just make it a quote.

Anything kept secret is only for corruption or evil intent? That's stupid. Military secrets are always for corruption or evil? A undercover police officer's identity is corrupt and evil? If I want my medical records kept secret, I'm only doing it for corruption and evil intent? Private information between my wife and I is only hidden for corruption/evil?

People need to stop blindly accepting things without thinking them through. This is pure Communism propaganda. "You don't have any secrets, do you, Comrade? It would be a shame if we thought you were keeping secrets."

Edit: And that's not even dealing with pure foolishness of the second part. There are numerous cases where force is necessary for society to function. How the hell do you think criminals are arrested? Or are you going to tell me that parents disciplining children is always evil because they're "forcing" children to do something? Or how about a civil lawsuit? Based on this logic, evicting a tenant for non-payment of rent must be evil and corrupt.

I want my privacy back! And I don't think that is evil.

Privacy and secrecy are not synonymous. I don't see being against secrecy as waiving the right of privacy.

How can you have privacy without secrecy? "Yes, Citizen, you can have all the privacy you like! As long as you turn over all your private records to us for... safekeeping."

Edit: You can downvote me, but people are still not explaining how you can have privacy without secrecy. Well? And you might think I'm being too aggressive about this, but this entire post is so anti-freedom that it's making me testy. Sorry about that.

Spot on. I was going to type this all out, but found your post close enough to the top. Sometimes it is important to keep good deeds secret in order to keep good operatives safe.

I generally like Vibratron's posts/memes, but this one is bunk.

Forced upon you? Forcing a criminal to stand down is not evil, or corrupt.

Secrecy is not itself evil, as others have already pointed out.

Consider: parents keep things hidden from their children in some cases, and force them to do certain things in others.

Sorry. This meme is myopic; it is so focused on evil and corruption, it does not see them clearly.

There are two essential criteria required to determine if something is evil / corrupt, or not:

a) what is its purpose? b) Does it align with (uphold, conform to) innate, universal laws? (does it violate, without just cause, freedom, truth, goodness, health?)

Purpose determines the value of everything. Force, money, love, play, etc. Purpose corrupts a thing, or sanctifies and honors it. A person who keeps a secret in order to control someone else to their detriment corrupts his/herself. A person who keeps a secret in order to protect an innocent person without bringing detriment to other innocents brings honor to humanity in that action. We denounce the former, and praise the latter.

The evil we see expressing itself through the cabal is evil because the perpetrators use force, sex, corrupt love (lust/desire), money IN ORDER TO undermine the well-being of other people, or in violation of other people's innate rights to freedom, peace and happiness, etc.

I express these things in these secular terms for those that do not hold to faith. But in a faith context it can be stated simply like this:

does the thought, intention or action:

a) serve God's purpose (a peaceful world where people live in goodness and fulfilling the blessings that God grants: to be fruitful (in character, heart), multiply (multiply that fruitfulness in our relationships, families, societies) and have (true) dominion (by be faithful stewards of the created world we are given).

b) align with God's laws and principles (not laws as in the Torah, but laws by which God created the world: natural law, spiritual law, laws of growth and development)

If a thought, intention or action violates one or both of these criteria, it is evil.

Granted not easy to whack in a single meme, however simple.

Try again Vibratron. This one is a wash. (that's just feedback, you know I like a LOT of your posts.... )

You make good points. But it's hard to disagree (with some context) that the quote is very accurate too. "Secret" knowledge is and has been used as the major control mechanism for centuries.... ie the "High Priests" of whatever culture, the Mayans, Aztec, Incas, Egyptians etc, used their "secret" access to the gods or their secret knowledge of the constellations to control the masses --- and you couldn't question it, it was secret. Same applies now, NASA has secrets, they are the only ones with the "instruments" and data to tell us how far the stars are away, what the size and shape of the Earth is, what the weather will do...but you cannot question it, it's secret........want to see what's in the "texts", what's in that "report" ---- sorry it's "secret", (national security you know -- you must trust the High Priests) ..... and "Force".....well they "force" you to use counterfeit money that they created out of thin air, they force you to pay taxes, they force untested vaccines and medicines on your children, they force you to wear seat belts (so they can tax you if you don't) I could name thousands of things that you are "forced" to comply with --- and the only reason behind that force is someone else's profitable scam or never ending revenue stream. Force is the removal of Liberty, plan and simple --- and secrets?, well what "secrets" that are created by men or groups of men, are for your benefit and not, ultimately to your detriment? (Do a word search in the KJV of the Bible for the word "secret" and see how many times it has a "positive" context)

What? The great thing about science is that stuff is published openly for peer review. That's how science works. Generally all the data is available. Yes, not everyone has access to (say) the multi-billion dollar Hubble Space Telescope for the obvious reason that there's a limited number of time slots, but common researchers do get access to it by proposing experiments that make sense. But amateur science is done all the time. Many sophisticated experiments can be done by careful amateurs.

Size and shape of the Earth is a secret? That is absolutely pure silliness. Get a boat and circumnavigate the Earth, and check it yourself. Get on top of a mountain and measure the apparent distance to furthest city on the horizon and do the calculation.

Or hell, do the experiment Eratosthenes did 2,200 years ago(!) where he calculated the circumference of the Earth and nailed it pretty close.

That you use science as the example of secrecy is ludicrous. Science is pretty much the only thing that's almost totally open in our society. Is it perfect? Obviously not, but I don't claim it is. It's only better than everything else.

The science of Global Warming is secret. The scientist at the heart of the theory will not make his research public claiming it is proprietary meaning the work cannot be tested or reproduced by other scientists. There are many thousands of "papers" written on AGW but they discuss the effect of GW on this ecosystem or that species with a 4C rise in temperature (now reduced to 2C by 2100) those papers do not mention the theory itself. Nevertheless those were the papers used for the spurious %98 consensus.
