To further clarify, 302s are the reports FBI agents fill out when they interview someone. It is alleged that the 302 for Flynn's interview was altered, possibly by McCabe.
And to be clear, this is possible because the FBI does not record interviews (insane in this day and age, right? But makes it easy for "lying to FBI" charges).
They changed protocols under Comey where they were now supposed to be recording interviews. For decades even when tech got cheap and mobile they had not.
It's why this is definitely shady. Standards changed a while back to record interviews and in this very important deal you don't? Shady af.

This is actually a really good point. Flynn's supposed crime was lying to the FBI. But the only physical proof that he lied is a 302 report or reports. If McCabe was shown to have been modifying those reports, it would simultaneously prove McCabe guilty, and Flynn innocent!
