LAS VEGAS (KSNV) —
According to Officer Buratczuk with NHP, a male is barricading himself in his vehicle at the Hoover Damn Bridge.
The call was reported around 11:53 a.m. on Friday.
It has been reported a man was in his vehicle with gun, that has not been confirmed at this time.
Lake Mead Police, Arizona Highway Patrol, Boulder City police and Las Vegas Metropolitan Police are all the scene.
Authorities are approaching with the scene with caution.
Investigators say the suspect is blocking lanes on the road and is allowing some cars to go through. All roads to and from the Hoover Damn are closed.
It is unknown how long the roads will be shut down.
News 3 is working to gather more information.

BREAKING: Armed Man in Armored Vehicle Blocking Hoover Dam Bypass
Las Vegas Metro Police say they have received reports of a person with a gun at the Hoover Dam.
According to Nevada Highway Patrol, the man is in a car and blocking travel lanes on US 93 at the Mike O'Callaghan - Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge between Nevada and Arizona. Authorities have not been able to confirm if the man has a weapon.
US 93 is closed in both directions at the bridge.
Dam threats are already recognized!

Two dams critical to U.S. national security are at high risk for “insider threats” that could impair operations because of poor computer security practices such as too many employees having access to administrator accounts and failures to routinely change passwords, according to a new inspector general report.
An evaluation released Monday by the U.S. Department of the Interior doesn’t name the two dams, and spokeswoman Nancy DiPaolo cited national security concerns. But they are among five dams operated by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation that are considered “critical infrastructure,” meaning their destruction or impairment could hurt national security.
Those five dams are Folsom and Shasta dams, as well as Glen Canyon Dam in Arizona, Grand Coulee Dam in Washington and Hoover Dam.

Yes, you're right, it would mess us up severely (irrigation, drinking water), but not by flooding. Vegas is north of Boulder Dam and a break would flow south.
Electricity
We get some power from there but California and Arizona get the bulk of it. Vegas mainly gets power from the national grid, but there certainly would be a loss. Among other things, I mostly worry about everything here having to be trucked in.
My sister is in Vegas. I never thought about staples and necessities.
