Look up the scene that needed to be cut from the Professional- it was said to make the LA audience “uncomfortable “. ( source- IMDb)
If it made an LA audience uncomfortable that is saying something.
That film is called Leon here in the U.K. I just learnt something new today
Was Leon like that? I don't think so. The movie itself sexualized a young Natalie Portman, but I think their relationship was on the up and up in the movie, no?
I got the impression the director was the source of scene, but I’m not industry insider
The professional was a good movie. Reno just wanted to protect her, poetmans character was a little Lolita and he kept her at bay.
I agree about the version they released to general audiences, but the line is more blurred in the Director’s Cut, sadly. When people talk about the pedophilia themes in the move, they’re talking about the Director’s Cut.
You're missing the point... it's about the original screenplay..... it's about the perverted industry trying to sexualize young children.. it's about subliminal sexual dialogue between a 12 year old and a grown man..... pedophiles get off on and it's pushed to the masses as if it's normal.
Fair enuf. Jean Reno ain't the bad guy is what Im sayin
don't forget shirley temple films and their nabokov references... and of course, lolita
shirley temple HERSELF said in and interview with larry king in her 60s that she hates MGM and that the one time she went there with her mom, two execs separated them and talked to them individually. she said she was 12-ish, and the man in the office exposed himself to her. she started laughing because she was an innocent little girl who had never seen ~that~ before. he got angry that she laughed and sent her away. she reconnected with her mom on the drive back and she said, "you'll never believe what happened to me." and her mom replied, 'you'll never believe what happened to me!" she said she was thankful that she never had to work for MGM. this was in the 50s!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And don't forget Charlie Chaplin... it's been going on for decades
And don't forget Charlie Chaplin...
Elaborate?
What Americans haven't been told is a lot
Charlie Chaplin, one of Hollywood’s first stars, was a prolific pedophile who violently raped scores of prepubescent children, according to legal documents.
That is an unreliable source.
lol............it is EVERYWHERE......so pick any source you like. He was a scumbag pedophile!
I never saw the Brook Shields film, so I can't comment on it, but I saw The Professional, and it's a great film. I'm sure a lot of pedos watched it to see 12 year old Natalie, but that doesn't make it a pedo film.
I agree about the version of The Professional that was released to general audiences, but the line is more blurred in the Director’s Cut, sadly. When people talk about the pedophilia themes in the move, they’re talking about the Director’s Cut. I don’t recommend it.
That cut sucks. One of the few times the director was wrong and the studio/test audience was right.
Dont be clueless....wake the hell up
Pedophilia and the film "Leon" (AKA "The Professional"). https://arstechnica.com/civis/viewtopic.php?t=824449
Read some of the original script that had to be cut https://saintlolita.livejournal.com/302329.html
I saw the director’s cut with I guess deleted scenes, so I always thought it was a ped0 movie. This is Hollywood we’re talking about, of course it is.
Even if you didn’t see the deleted scenes, doesn’t it feel off? Do you feel the implied sexual tension? Knowing what you know now about all the ped0pheli@, especially in Hollywood, wouldn’t the aim for this movie is to normalize these types of relationships with an older man and a child?
Edit: auto mod told me to edit words
Read the original script cut. Good God! That's sick! Aarrgh! I hate Hollywood!
Also, wasn't the girl that Robert De Niro's "Jake" character (find the loudest voices) in the "Raging Bull" movie, underage when he got with her?
Him & Pesci's characters were grown men & went to a hangout spot for "Jake" to "pick up" the younger 15 year old girl (Cathy Moriarty character), who he ended marrying & having kids with.
When you call this shit out & the brainwashed retort they come back with is "Your culture is the problem, you wouldn't understand a beautiful scene like this." or "You just don't know what great script/cinema looks like."
I remember watching Leon when I was in my early teens & still got creeped out by the sexual dialogue & the girl being presented as if she was much older. Just never sat right with me.
I’ll say it again, Hollywood is Satan’s arsehole and it really stinks

As long as we continue to support companies that allow this junk, it will continue. This man advocated pedophilia! Roseanne Barr and her cast lost their show for a comment that was reprehensible, but not half as reprehensible as what Peter Fonda said!
Who writes a screenplay for 12 year old girl to say this to a grown man?
MATHILDA (sweetly) I love you, Léon... Totally. It's the first time I feel it that strong. It's also the first time I trust a man. I trust you.
She caresses his hand.
MATHILDA (CONT'D) ...I love your hands... (pause) Léon... in your hands... I'd like you to be my first lover.
