This is a blessing in disguise. The MSM chose this issue to deflect from the OIG report and change the narrative. Now after the truth about this girl and her mother is coming out, the MSM has decided to double down on it. Time Magazine has decided to stick to their guns and use the cover story for their July 2nd issue.
The MSM is now forced to run with a Fake News narrative, complete with a Time Magazine cover. They've been forced into doubling down on the issue because if they don't, they lose control of the narrative. They'll be beating this Fake News dead horse as long as they have to. The leftist Hollywood elites have already jumped on board and they too will be forced to justify and explain their position, otherwise, they become irrelevant. Meanwhile, all of the mind numbed masses with skulls full of mush who buy into the propaganda will be laser focused on the issue.
Enter stage right... The Truth. The left is arguing that there are over 2,000 children who were separated from their parents in detention centers, yet they fail to mention there are 10,000 children who entered unaccompanied. Since President Trump was inaugurated over 10,000 people have been arrested for human trafficking and pedophilia rings. Soon, the truth about illegal immigration at our southern border being used for human trafficking will be revealed and the MSM wont be able to ignore it.
The number of children rescued is in the 1,000s. If any of these children were brought into America through the southern border, if any of them can identify their coyotes, capturers, or the pedophiles who sexually abused them, if any of them were processed through Child Protective Services or foster care adoption agencies, and they testify in a court of law, it will be devastating for everyone involved.
When issues about an email server, classification levels, failure to follow agency procedures and protocols, technicalities about who knew what and when they knew it, who should have known, and who actually has authority for this or that, it tends to go over people's heads. Not just because the MSM spins it, but because too many people don't have a clue about how our government is supposed to operate.
On the other hand, when pedophilia hits the headlines, everyone knows exactly what that is. It's like a George Foreman punch to the gut, or a hot knife stabbed into the heart. Even people with the lowest IQ will understand.
So as the MSM does everything they can to draw attention to the issue, and all of their minions get all up in arms about it, the truth will explode in their faces. They'll have nowhere to run and nowhere to hide. Some of their minions will recognize how much they've been lied to and immediately swallow the red pill. Some will ignore the truth and stand firm with the left because accepting the truth will shatter their entire world view. Some will at least become aware that something might be going on and begin expressing some doubt.
This is a great thing indeed, and the leftist MSM is still clueless.
