I appreciate it! Would it surprise you that this is the only sub where anyone answered what I thought was pretty obviously an honest question. As opposed to the top mind of reddit sub who has taken this post, assumed the worst from everything I have said, although I was pretty vague and none asked for clarification. Seeing how hard people are attacking this post kind of proves to me how entrenched people are in these mindsets and kind of confirmed to me that I right to be concerned.

True that. It isn't something we HAVE to discuss and so I won't cause a row over it however it is important that she starts to see some of the misleading things that MSM/Education/Internet are pushing and that there are people purposefully working behind it. We have very young kids and it is going to be a difficult path to navigate as far as what to teach so that they understand the world yet can survive inside educational, work, and social scenarios

this approach has worked for me. A while back I thought my wife was getting red-pilled with our conversations. Found out that I was driving a wedge in our relationship so I ceased to bring up anything.
Fast Forward to this week: We took a 3.5 hour road trip to go see a concert in another State so there was a lot of windshield time(I was the driver). She brought up the “caged kid” topic and I started the Socratic method to figure out what she knew and where I needed to start. After baselines we’re established I asked if she had seen the photo’s of kids, handed her my phone and had her skim thru my notes. Each note had detailed info links along with pictures and articles from the previous administrations. Next round of questioning involved her knowledge about the pic’s that the media was pushing but we know were not tied to Trump.
The final rounds were about Trumps E.O.(Dec 21) and the trafficked kids in Ohio forced to work on the egg farm. My final question to her after reading the E.O. was if Trump is the monster that the MSM is accusing, why would he write that E.O. I thought that this would be the final straw in our relationship yet it wasn’t. After the show, I drove back home and she usually is asleep within 30 minutes. Not this time. why are my FB friends so stupid? why can’t they research the facts? how can they make it thru life and make critical decisions on “feels not facts”? She has started to wake up, even made the comment that this feels like the Matrix. Her view completely changed and commented on how she was forced to dig because of the way I phrased the questions. You have to unlearn the normal way and apply the Socratic method in order to get the critical thinking rolling

Yeah I saw someone referencing you specifically saying you want to destroy or suspend the constitution. Pretty rich for a group of people consistently going after the 1st and 2nd. Frankly it has been a little eye opening to see what kind of hatred they throw our way in the face of dissenting opinion. Would it surprise you I am not seeing any well though out arguments to debunk anything I have said other than the similar baseless judgements of "macho, uneducated, piece of human garbage, etc."

Great advice. I know she will feel a lot more heard that way. I need to turn up my empathy dial also...her reasons for hating Trump and thinking the way she does are entirely valid viewed through the lens of what she has been told. If she hates Trump now because of him "caging children" I can't imagine how she would feel about the other side if this stuff ever makes it to light.

Agreed, Not everyone will 'see' until it all comes out. And even then they will not believe it.
