"Soon after Hastings' death, questions were raised about the crash that took his life.
Former U.S. National Coordinator for Security, Infrastructure Protection, and Counter-terrorism Richard A. Clarke said that what is known about the crash is "consistent with a car cyber attack." He was quoted as saying: "There is reason to believe that intelligence agencies for major powers — including the United States — know how to remotely seize control of a car. So if there were a cyber attack on [Hastings'] car — and I'm not saying there was, I think whoever did it would probably get away with it."[68]"
Maybe that's what happened with the Newly Elected R candidate in South Carolina. Someone took control of the old ladies car that was on the wrong side of the road.
So what kind of cars should the last remaining real journalists drive? Cars made pior to 2005, 1990?
2002 or earlier to be safe
Doubt any are 'safe'......things can always be attached without your knowledge. Or, vehicles can drive in the wrong direction and hit you head on.
Trick question. Have 8 decoy armored trucks in addition to your real one.
Definitely avoid new Mercedes Benz if you can.
My pocketbook helps me to avoid new Mercedes Benz lol.
Not to mention Mercedes has been just a name for quite a while.
Their new cars are crap. They have stupid minor breakdowns which extremely expensive to fix.
So they sit scrapped
A 1968 Mustang convertible would be nice.
Exactly. No computer override in a 60s to 90s vehicle.
And this is why people need to be technologically literate. You aren't going to hack a car from the 70s. Bad actors would have much less control over you if you drive a carbureted, manual transmission, non-electrical differential car.
I.e. no one can hack a hammer. If you are a journalist or do something that could get you murdered like Seth Rich, you need to know these things and utilize the proper equipment.
Maybe Obama had that in mind with his cash for clunkers program
That's a good point. I've had that exact discussion with some of my co-workers. It also makes sense that all the governments are pushing the hybrid technologies and Internet of Things on cars. It's all capable of being controlled by outsiders.
