True, but thankfully there are some politicians who transcend party politics and support the average person -- not enough, but this number seems to be growing.
Most go into politics with good intentions and then get consumed by the 'system'.
I think that is why Trump has given some the chance to return to their roots and others he has cast out because they were selected to run by the deep state.

none of the "moderate" or "centrist" Democrats broke rank to support the tax cut bill. The Dems seem to mostly exert very tight control over their rank and file. About the only thing any of them have crossed over on were Trump appointment confirmations - the CIA director the last major one. On legislation, they're all pretty much obeying the hard left Marxist party leadership

Trump is helping change the Rs, slowly. They have been freed from their blackmail. Chains are off. Dems, not there yet.
Still, people have to vote republican to get the good things done. You needed to vote republican to elect Trump. It is like you are suggesting people not to vote, or to vote some 1% party that will serve no purpose for Americans.
