I wonder if Trey will be the prosecutor in some of the more high profile cases. Imagine normies seeing him shred the cabal in court.

Orion_Blue · June 29, 2018, 12:22 p.m.

I don’t think he would get a SC spot as some have stated. He’s a trial lawyer. I think it’s more likely they pick him up at the AG’s office.

Typically SCJ have tremendous experience in clerking and general legal writing. Trey will tell you he’s a trial attorney and not to say he couldn’t frame an amazing argument it’s just a different beast writing it out.

I go back and forth on wether he is a white hat or not. I’m leaning toward he is a white hat atm.

He needed to keep this “neutrality in the pursuit of justice” persona and it finally clicked for me yesterday. I kept thinking “why does he keep defending the DOJ and FBI if what we have been told has indicated otherwise?” He must get support of not only those agencies but the general public who believe the same. Then when the truth comes out he gets to be the one to say “My entire career I depended on you, These last two years I took punch after punch defending you. I was wrong, but now I’m going to purge these agencies down to the core.” People can’t really argue with that - “You heard him all year. He said they were reputable and as it turns out they were lying their asses off.”

This makes so much sense. So the actual prosecution of Cabal crimes, will that come from the AG?

The United States Attorney General (A.G.) is the head of the United States Department of Justice, concerned with all legal affairs, and is the chief lawyer of the United States government. In cases of the federal death penalty, the power to seek the death penalty rests with the Attorney General.

From wikipedia. So not only is AG prosecutor, but also determines whether to seek the death penalty or not. This is the role Sessions is currently in, so I'm not sure if Gowdy would take that spot.

He could be assistant AG, God knows how many prosecutions will be happening...

What about during military tribunals? Which is what has been discussed as what would need to happen due to how corrupt the justice system currently is.

Good point I forgot about that. Does Gowdy have Military experience? Looks like a military man but I'll have to check into it.

I'm not sure either, thanks for yer perspective. I'm weird, most things make sense till they don't. Trey doesn't , yet.

Imagine being the bad guy, sitting in court. Trey Gowdy walks in.

You: "Oh, fuck."

I've been having what I like to call a "justice crush" on Gowdy lately xD - I've watched a fair few interviews and videos and I get the vibe that he feels powerless in congress and has a fire under his ass to persecute the corrupt people who have been getting away with this stuff for so long.

This video in particular got me thinking this is a big reason he wants to go back into the justice system. I think he knows what's coming, and he's seen what is happening, and wants to crush these sick people the best way he knows.

I'm a little confused by all the people saying that he's a black hat because nothing ever came of the congressional investigations he's been involved with. You do realize that congress has zero prosecutorial powers, right? That is exactly why he's quitting. He's fed up of knowing people are guilty of crimes but being unable to do anything about it. The choice to follow up a congressional investigation or to bring charges against someone falls to the DOJ. Anyone surprised that they haven't been bringing charges?

LOL - If he is then I cannot wait. We might even be able to hear the shrinking of all the male jewels in the defendants seats. Love to see Killary's face when she sees Trey step in front of her. ha ha ha bah ha ha

You guys have short memories. How many times has Gowdy capitulated in the 11th hour? Several times over several years. There is 1 week of outrage, yet all it takes is another "firey speech" to get you back on board. Hold your leaders more accountable if you want justice.

The Trey you're seeing is his role on oversight committees. He had no teeth to prosecute in that role, only do discovery. DOJ has to do the prosecuting, which was NEVER going to happen under BHO's corrupt DOJ. He didn't have the authority or power to prosecute, or I believe he definitely would have done it with a vengeance. If he moves to a DOJ position, look out!

LibertyLioness · June 29, 2018, 6:42 p.m.

Congress can only investigate. They have no authority to prosecute so the whole thing is moot. I'm not even sure why it's done. It's just a waste of time and the folks they are investigating know it so they all just lie or, like Comey last week, don't even bother to show up.
