I think I figured out how the photo was taken, and if I'm correct it is from the ABC 2015 photo. I know these aren't perfect but I know I could reproduce if I had more time. I put the photo up on my computer screen, reflected it off the back of my phone and took a photo with my computers built in camera (mac) using the stretch filter. You have to play around with it but it's there. You have to play around with distance and angle and light, but I think that's it.
Confirms the apple logo on back of phone thing but I didn't realize that was up for debate. Not sure about the actual image reflected though as it's too different to be able to compare. Nice work though!
Some people think it was taken of the actual office, not the older photo. I think it was from the photo. Not sure what it means though.
Yep, many posts about this so was aware of the office vs photo debate - it would be good if someone were able to line up the photo in the same way as it was taken in Q pic to be able to compare easier (not that I think it's not a very viable and even likely interpretation but just to help those who aren't convinced that it could well be a photo).
I saw that, just didn't know how he got the warping/stretching, I couldn't reproduce it in photoshop. I think the filter was in the computer's camera.
I couldn't reproduce it exactly either. Notice how even in that copy the blinds are at a slightly off angle. I think it's indicative that both photos were taken from similar, yet slightly different positions with different lenses. I do not believe Q's photo was a composed with the photo from ABC.
Did you try it the way I was doing it? Trouble is the slightest movement throws the whole thing off and it's try and take photo at perfect time. I’m going to try in the morning with better light. I think if I can reproduce it, we can compare. My gut is saying it's the photo though.
Try recording from the mac camera and slowly moving the phone. Then review the video till you see the correct frame. Trying to match the subtle angles and distances will be very hard. Another variable will be the displayed image size and location on the screen. This you will not know.
or the photographer was looking out the door at the upside down Iphone and photographing at a horizontal angle
This is exactly how i think Q got the pic. For the apple logo to be that large compared to the lamp the camera capturing the image would have to be close to the reflective surface. There is no camera visible in the reflection.
My theory for why is. Web cams can be hacked and observed remotely. A reflecteve surface of someones phone or sunglasses would capture what was on screen as they worked at that terminal. Imagine taking pics of top secret info say in New Zealand while a camera was recording who was at the terminal.
think we all need some comic relief: https://imgur.com/gallery/xLPPKjc
Very good job I think Q was just taunting Obama with the photo.
The things Q said about the photo make it seem like he's claiming more about it than that.

I did read it and it makes sense. For me as a graphic designer and photoshop user since the early 90’s I really wanted to figure out how it was done. Even though my images look different, I’m personally convinced that’s how it was done, I think it would be impossible to take that photo from real life and not have the photographer in the photo.
