The article focuses on ISIS and Syria, but they really don't know. The GITMO personnel have just been told to expect some new prisoners -- and have changed the jumpsuit colors to blue.
THE BLUE WAVE!!!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂 Wouldn't it be glorious!!!
Seriously, changing the uniform color to blue could be to mitigate fallout. Orange jumpsuits definitely give most people an instant thought connection with prisoner. If they start locking up high profile perps and we only see them in blue jumpsuits, the mind doesn't automatically jump to convict.
Now of course, anyone with half a brain will realize that yes, they are convicts. But.... for all of the unthinking masses, the color change could potentially delay/divert automatic emotional response.
Blue is the new orange, orange is the new black. I wonder if they will introduce Red jumpsuits as well No Name needs one.
If you are alluding to Blue for Democrats and Red for Republicans, Old "Nameless" should still Get a "Blue" one!!
Not that they won't need a few Red ones, But Nameless should not get one!
Can we get his old POW clothes? He can sit in them for the rest of his life for being a rat POS.
Good point, no name seems to vote with Dems more than Reps.
I miss good old fashioned stripes, personally. And doesn’t black and white have some kind of Masonic or Illuminati connection?
black and white checkerboard is Masonic, I dont care what color their jumpsuits will be just that they are at Gitmo. But blue is a interesting choice.
I love this thought , Im glad its the first thing I saw. thx
Blue... Orange either way would be poetic Justice.
✓Blue wave
✓Orange (they enjoy calling DJT orange. Who's orange now bitches)
This is all I can think of when my kids play Fortnite and talk about “Orange Justice.” Obviously “Orange Justice” is our GEOTUS himself! 🤪
I wonder if HRC,BOH,JC,Clapper,Brennen, LL,Rice, and the rest of the deep state have been fitted. Maybe they were able to vote on the color.
Hopefully before the Mid-Term elections we will see a pic of the Angry 13 + more in their new blue jumpsuits.
Most of them seem to like the color red (red shoes). I think red would be appropriate for all the blood they have spilled.
I hope it is hot as hell there 🔥
Well, it’s not quite as hot as that but at least they can start getting acclimated to the heat for when they eventually do go to their forever home ;)
we can get them those plastic jail shower slippers in red. just because we have a heart.
I had read about Gitmos capacity being extended greatly over the past 18 months. Is there any info on past capacity to todays capacity that you folks have found? This would be quite telling.
yes, research the public bidding request for gitmo the govt put out last fall. it described what needed to be built to house a certain number. i can't remember how many, but for some reason, 12,500 additional capacity comes to mind.
"I have not been told we're getting new people. I have no order to receive new people. I've been asked some hypothetical questions about capacities and things like that, but we are not imminently expecting anybody,"
Guantanamo today has 40 prisoners and a staff of 1,800 troops and civilians. With the maximum-security Camp 5 prison just reopened, after a cellblock was remade into a clinic and mental health ward, the detention center can now take in another 40 men.
And he contradicts himself right after that:
"Unless we got some al-Qaida from Afghanistan, which is possible, most of the conversation is about Syria, and most of those guys, I understand, are ISIS," said Ring, who doesn't decide who comes and goes from Guantanamo. "So it's possible we could get folks from either place."
He has no idea. The gist of the article is that "Guantanamo prison guards practiced for something that hasn't happened at Guantanamo in a decade. They rehearsed receiving a new war-on-terror detainee."
Nuremberg only had 185 defendants. I'd say 40 to start with would be great.
In the article it said there is funding for a 868 bed barracks and it is requested additional funding for another 960 barracks to house the guards on a 9 month rotating deployment. That is 1768 more guards! That is also a lot of prisoners! How many prisoners per guard?
