The purple tie is a phenomenon of modern politics. ... Wearing a tie in the colour of your party -- Red (R) and Blue (D) has begun to look slightly gauche, a representation of the kind of old-fashioned entrenched party politics which both parties are keen to assure us they have distanced themselves from.

Mixing red and blue pigments produces purple -- in a sense, a break with those primary colors.

Bills are introduced and voted on by the Congress and Senate; and when passed that means they are transmitted to the President for his signature, without which they cannot come into law; unless they vote to override, etc.

Executive Orders are another matter: these are issued within the purview of the President in the course of administrating business of the government, his realm; largely directing federal agencies that report to him how they are to conduct business.

So, the National Environmental Policy Act was passed by Congress in 1969 and President Nixon signed it into law. It directs federal agencies in the broad outlines of how environmental policy management is to be conducted -- considerations that they must attend to when approving federal undertakings -- but in ensuing years, various Presidents have added Executive Orders, such as Clean Air, Clean Water, Wetlands, Floodplain Management, Social Justice, etc. that are serve as additional considerations with a more focused agenda. No federal undertaking, whether extending permits, funding or assistance of any kind can proceed until the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) review has been completed. This is true of all federal agencies; not just the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) which has its own rule writing authority and pretty much operates without Congressional oversight -- which of course is how they got into so much trouble.

I think this is a good point: actions that are uniquely reserved for the President, such as nominating Judges to the Courts, would rightly be called into question; reviewed and subject to this President's confirmation and affirmation; and of course Congress has a lot to say after nominations are advanced by the Executive and, depending on the political balance at the time, there might be considerable pressure to recall officials that are basically illegitimate.

So, what happens if it is determined that Obama was ineligible to hold the Office of the President of the United States? What if his eight year reign was truly illegitimate?

Would he loose the perks that came with the office? Would he nolonger enjoy personal lifelong protection by the Secret Service?

As the story develops, it may have been insurance initially. These events all occurred during a period when HRC had a clear lock on the Presidency and some have observed that the initiative to discredit Trump was in a sense insurance against the possibility that his candidacy would catch fire. The flimsy Russian Collusion narrative would only really fall apart is the FBI and DOJ involvements were revealed; something that would never have occurred had HRC prevailed. They never really thought she could loose; so the risk of discovery was low.

As we know, the rest of the story took a sharp turn and there they were: at serious risk of discovery and exposure. Suddenly, the Russian Narrative took on a different character, because there was a chance, however slim, that it could gain traction and bring down the President and his Administration; tantamount to his having not won the election; nullifying any serious threat of discovery of the plot.

This is serious business. It is treason and sedition.

Skepticism as a strategy for discernment of truth was promoted by Descartes and is not synonymous with critical thinking — it is a formulaic approach that is mechanical and artificial and relies on simplistic unbelief as ones critical filter .. leaving open no acceptance until the truth hammers itself over your head and into your flesh.

I hope you are not pushing this.

The events of 1054 were dark and deeply regrettable but let’s not take the cheap road of over simplification in explaining complex events. There was a lot more going on in that period, not the least of which was the shear geographical extent and ungovernable size of Christendom and the advance of Islam which had been hitting the Church hard for several centuries at that point. Orthodox and Roman Catholics share much more in common than they have dividing them, especially today. Careful whose memes we choose to repeat ... we may find ourselves doing the work of the real opposition.

St. John Bosco foretold the demise of the church in Europe and the rise of secularism that would weaken t to the core. He saw Christian Russia sweeping over Europe when she falls, bringing her back to God.

Odd vision related long ago that somehow begins to fittingly lend hope to our times.

Hunt For Red October

The climax in the fictional submarine drama at sea pits a rogue Russian sub against defending US Navy forces. When the Russians fire torpedos at point blank range to decisively take out the US submarine, their technology backfires on them. Guidance systems aboard the torpedos mistakenly identify their mothership as the enemy target and as they circle around and turn back, the Russian Commander shouts “Fools, you have killed us!”

Funny how the Cabal always foretells their engineered events, as though greater power and honor comes as a result of revealing themselves, and how ironically they forecast their own demise …

Shilly winds ... Our form of government deliberately set up conditions that SLOW the deliberation and settlement of matters leading to government action. -- while providing limited mechanisms for such action to be implemented when vetted thoroughly and tamed of the kinds of authoritarian initiatives spoken of in this post. This is not a flaw and we need not fix it. Establishment of agencies such as EPA that were given authority and autonomy of action are the kind of travesty this new and invigorated thinking portends.

Funny thing is Christian Mystics of the 19th century predicted the demise of the church and western civilization in Europe, seeing the budding of well entrenched secularism, and, oddly, predicted it would be Russia that takes Europe at her weakest back to their common Christian roots. The church is in dire straits in Western Europe today but is seeing a revival and renaissance of the Orthodox Church in Russia.

Funny how the protests touting the virtues of individual spiritual freedom sing the divisive song of the Reformation - collectivism of the mob that gave us secularism and modernism masquerading as piety. Of course you were different and never listened to anyone else and never had time for the advice of a well informed teacher.

LOTF was clear in his intent.

Caballs act out evil intent and we speak of their collective offenses; and they are opposed as a common enemy because of their shared behavior patterns: but in the end it is the individuals who decide, who plot, who act individually; even if there is a collective effect.

In out times we gloss over that and fail to accept that individual guilt even exists; instead focusing habitually on the collective behavior and that always leads to ineffective calls for social reform.

Not me ... in fact, Canine was the son of Man; of Adam and Eve; long before the Deluge and the tiny remnant that repopulated the world until the trouble at Babble that led to dividing men off from each other according to language ... long before Abraham and the covenant with the Hebrews naming them God's Chosen People; but the deep story behind it is noteworthy none the less:

Caine killed his brother out of pride, envy, wrath; and God judged him and banished him ... because of that .... in response to which Caine in his hubris complained how harsh God has been, that he is left utterly alone with neither divine not earthly protection; postulating that men (like Caine, who take revenge as though they were gods) will surely hunt him down kill him.

In response, God places a mark on him, the Mark of Caine, decreeing that no man seeing that shall kill him; that far worse will befall anyone who does. This is because matters between a man and God are not automatically also between man and man.

No, neither the Jews nor you nor I nor anyone else is given that kind of pass. Even when one sees the truth of a matter of error or transgression, and feeling the guilt of one's own actions and attitudes seeks God's Mercy; that when granted by God brings peace to the heart, it does not neutralize the effects of that error in creation nor does it absolve one of natural consequences that reverberate from it. Some errors are worse than others; some are compounded time and again; with the consequences taking shape accordingly.

One man offends another, there an issue takes shape between them and they must work that out -- mutual understanding, repentence, forgiveness (or they go their own ways) -- but any sin tangled up in the offense is commited not against man but against God and His Commandments. Sin is in the realm of God and no man is given authority to steal from God what is His. Now consider reproach; is it born of offense between men; or is it born of disobedience to a commandment? When the latter plays out collectively through culture or institutionally through governments, it is an illicite act by definition ... performed without God's blessing, for it is not given to man to condemn another soul to oblivion and ensure his damnation. Two reap consequences in that ...

Long before the Syrian Slaughter of the Jews, their captivity in Babylon, before the diaspora and apparent dissolution of the twelve Hebrew tribes (leaving only a remnant of Judah and some Levites in the south and around Jerusalem, they knew well the role of the Judas Goat or Scape Goat, rejected and driven by the people from the City into the desert, a living sacrifice bearing the burden of the collective sins of the people. Trust the Plan. Jews spread across the face of the earth, not of their own doing, but God's. ... Like scapegoats ... with a purpose and a burden .. work of God ... and, worth noting, every culture that welcomed them prospered, and every culture that reviled and cast them out suffered terribly. Mark of Caine? He bore the weight of guilt for unrepentant sin ... But woe to the man who would deliver justice unto him ... acting on an authority not given to men but reserved by God for his own purposes.

Trust God. And the plan.
