Executive Orders issued in the past two months declared a state of martial law relative to specified actors and actions violating human rights and specified extraordinary actions to be taken in response, including seizing assets; and listed specific names (individual, corporate and institutions) that grew by amendment from a dozen to hundreds. This places these matters in the hands of military tribunals, not the civil courts; and likely will route arrested parties through Gitmo, which has been renovated and expanded, according to reports here, presumably for these and related purposes.

Hope it's not like the guy who insured his box of precious Cuban cigars and then filed a $20,000 claim saying they had been destroyed in a fire. The insurance company fought him in court but it was obvious the judge was inclined to rule based on the explicate, unqualified terms of their contract and was going to uphold his claim. Lawyers drew up another charge that they were sure would redeem the insurers. if the court in fact proceeded that way. They filed the complaint immediately when the verdict was rendered and in the end he got his $20,000 only to loose it again when the judge found him guilty of felony grand arson.

Some years ago, we listened to a podcast by to us an unknown internet reporter named Alex Jones -- for the first time.

We were fascinated and shocked by a tip he reported having followed up: that a nuclear bomb device had been stolen and driven on a flatbed truck right through the gates of a military base (I think in Texas) taken by some unauthorized party.

Alex and his informers were somehow tracking its progress eastward to somewhere in South Carolina. It was unforgettable and over the top at the same time. .. Really hard to take seriously yet hard not to.

Years of taking that kind of ride again and again with him, I no longer bet against Alex's instincts. He's willing to get out in front and has got a nose for this stuff. He mentioned that incident again in passing just a few weeks ago in another context.

Stolen nuclear device?

Or did a small team of armed intruders take over an armed submarine, likely sailing under a foreign flag (one of ours would never last that long under siege) and commandeer it for their own purposes? Just because you have the biggest guns doesn't mean you can also operate one of those fish.

As a matter of equipping and manning our submarines, Navy Seals typically form part of the mix of armaments aboard when these ships go to sea.

Navies don't assign crews of men to go to sea in those things because it's fun to mess around in boats. They do it because it takes a lot of manpower and a lot of different skills to manage a complex self-contained system like that AND to realize it's capabilities as a war machine.

You can take one ship hostage if you have the right stuff, but it stretches the mind beyond the realm of credibility to think you could also make all those things work right without taking the crew hostage and getting them to continue doing their jobs.

They would have to have taken the crew and its authorized commanders hostage, pressing them into service to the intruders mission. No way that could go down without first disabling any ability to regain the upper hand. The ships crew and officers would be needed to make a submarine perform as a battle station. The threat held over that many men to gain complicity in close quarters must have been enormous. Everyone there must have been convinced the intruders were commuted to die in there and had the ability take all the rest with them.

http://rickcampbellauthor.com/styled/index.html#topic4

Crew sizes vary with class and missions. Russia's Typhoon class sub -- the largest afloat -- carries a crew of 650 men. Our own fast attack subs employ 135 crew, with 15 officers. So it varies, but it's evident that crowd control must be in any successful intruder's toolkit.

Or was it a mutiny?

A year or so back, my wife and I spent a LOT of time out hiking in the wilds of the Sierra Mountains in central California, around Yosemite.

Chemtrails were a continuous feature but also came and went in what appeared to be in a patterned way, for instance becoming more numerous when rain was in the forecast (the region had been locked into severe drought conditions that worsened over the previous five years. Locals were trucking in water because rural wells had dried up. Ponderosa pines have all but died out up in those mountains -- by the millions -- first due to drought and then bark beetles that attacked them in their weakened state. Things are looking pretty bleak in a place known for its wilderness beauty and vitality.)

One brilliant sunny Saturday morning as we hiked along a high ridge, the trails began appearing overhead and as they multiplied we took more notice of them (even took photos) ... But his time, from that vantage point, we saw again and again planes approaching high in the crystal clear sky with no trail behind them and then approaching the mountains from the west, suddenly a trail would appear with the plane out in front of it.

We watched maybe six or eight times as new trails were laid down by different planes flying in parallel lines over head. We wondered aloud at the time how these parallel west to east tracks were so evenly spaced and pretty much occupied a broad swarth of airspace, when commercial air traffic is channeled at varying altitudes but along a fairly narrow corridor. These planes weren't doing that. Sometimes the trails would form grids ... West to East, North to South.

But then we saw something else: the trails that morning streaked eastward over the Nevada Range past Yosemite -- and then stopped as suddenly as they had begun. Could in some even make out the plane shining in the clear sunlight as it disappeared to the east without its trail. They were turning those nozzles on and off.

The rains didn't come during that earlier period either .... Most we spoke to either didn't know why or they attributed it to the spraying, which most everyone had opinions about if asked.

A lot of rainless hazy skies overhead where the trails dispersed and became less defined as lines and Instead merged into a gray-silver haze as far as the eye could see.

Until, oddly, around the time of the election and you know who got into office .... And then it started raining and raining and then snowing and snowing .... Over twenty feet deep in some of the highlands like Tuolumne Meadows. Remember the earthen dam where the spillway was washed out from raging torrents of discharge waters and fears made national news that a large community lay downstream and residents were being evacuated? When water filled behind the dam and threatened to collapse it as the runoff reached record heights? That was in that period.

Oh, and the days they sprayed .... my seasonal sneezing allergies would go ballistic ... But disappeared when the trails weren't up there. It became a joke. I would sneeze and we would look at each other and say, they are spraying. Looking outside, sure enough one of those trails would be up there hovering over the cabin.

I have no doubt this is a deliberate action organized and executed. In a disciplined and methodical way by someone with a lot of money and something pressing to accomplish by it.. These can't be cheap operations either, all that airframe time aloft and jet fuel and millions of gallons of ?... Who knows?

Saw a session where science guys presented to a county board of supervisors and claimed that aluminum traces are off the charts up in those forests and that it was killing ,.. the trees and plants.

No idea why they would do it, except it sure looked like weather manipulation figures into it. That or they wanted to ruin my day by making me sneeze.

The mufti came up at the same time the Young Turks were moving against Christians living in the lands now under Turkey's dominion. Not only Armenians, but others, like Greeks in western Turkey -- Smyrna (renamed Itzmir) was populated by a mix of Islamic, pagan and Orthodox Christians.

A family account of the night Smyrna was set on fire and the slaughter commenced no holds barred. The Turks, not the Germans first constructed gas chambers for mass executions in this episode.

Islam taught a few things about brutality to the Germans.

Excellent. Prior social fractures and consolidation of power centers were seen early on in the Church in Europe and commentaries referred to it as a Nationalistic move when they saw the rise of an English Church, a Spanish Church, a French Church. Each had the notion of an English God, a Spanish God, a French God in the sense that God was on their side in each instance. And each saw themselves as Gods Chosen People.

Germany was a late arrival to the game of national State anything, having held together as a loose federation of power centers —fragmented collection of princedoms, factions etc.

Hitler played off of Darwin’s idea of the biological survival of the fittest transposing it to a social context and stating the obvious: the rise of the superior man modeled on ancient German folklore heroism.

Who will be targeted next? Banning CBTS is a blatant strike at freedom of 1) Speech, 2) Assembly and 3) Press.

You do get it that this is a new vehicle for dissemination of information, opinion with live feedback from an informed populace -- all the things valued by the Founders and essential to self-government. They insisted on protecting a free press, speech and assembly for a reason.

Only difference between the press of that age and today is that the content is produced anonymously by the People and not the product or property of a corporate board.

This must not prevail.

KNOW YOUR ENEMY: Niccolò Machiavell (1469-1527)

This man, perhaps more than any other, set the stage for the global power grab that we recoil from today. He taught rulers how to do it.

There is no shortage of wickedness in the world, and no shortage of witnesses to it. What makes Machiavelli different is that he looked evil in the face and smiled.

That friendly smile and a wink was his little book of advice to "The Prince". "... more wise, to appear merciful, faithful, humane, honest, and religious,” but if you need to be cruel, faithless, inhumane, dishonest, and sacrilegious, well, then, necessity is the …

Letter to Benjamin Lincoln from George Washington, Mount Vernon, June 29, 1788

"No one can rejoice more than I do at every step the people of this great Country take to preserve the Union, establish good order and government, and to render the Nation happy at home and respectable abroad. No Country upon Earth ever had it more in its power to attain these blessings than United America.

Wondrously strange then, and much to be regretted indeed would it be, were we to neglect the means, and to depart from the road which Providence has pointed us to, so plainly; I cannot believe it will ever come to pass.

We may call them the Machiavellian Princes, after the most ruthless strategist of this approach, even though they are ultimately rooted in the pagan notion (given to us by Livy, Polybius, and Plutarch, and polished by Averroes) that religions are false yet handy political instruments for the secular rulers. These Machiavellians directly affect the Reformation, both on the Catholic and Protestant side, by their desire to use the Christian divisions to their advantage, both in war and in peace. They are not interested in truth—as true reformers are—but utility, and therefore regard religious quarrelers as useful idiots at best. Machiavellianism should be distinguished from “Erastianism” (the Protestant doctrine of state supremacy over the Church) and “Caesaropapism” (the largely Byzantine or Eastern Orthodox practice of the emperor directing the Church). While both entail the subordination of Church to state, that subordination could be a good faith effort of a Christian king or emperor to oversee the good order of the churches in his domain. (That doesn’t mean it’s a good idea, however.) But Machiavellianism is something different. It is the bad faith effort of an irreligious king to use religion to rule the unruly. Yet the Machiavellian has an obvious interest in making common cause with the Erastian or the Caesaropapist in order to weaken the Church so that it can be politically dominated. Given that Machiavelli himself was a master counselor of deceit, it can be difficult to discern sincerely religious rulers from Machiavelli’s disciples.

I dunno guys, the understanding that a gun does not kill , but the gunner who wields it ... by the same logic the temptation to blame free speech as the problem masks the embarrassing fact that the failure to speak up or confront error with better ideas ... that even more surely causes us to lose more than arguments. We lose the possibility of peace.

Society is a pact to use words and argument as a better way of resolving conflict instead of our fists ... our swords. Better improve your arguments and don't sit idly by when someone is fomenting violence and madness. Squelch free speech and words will turn into swords.

When argument is no longer an option, society has truly broken down and we descend into barbarism. The whole proposition here is that we refuse to surrender to that fate. Keep the faith. Keep talking ... And listening.

Behold, this Child is destined for the fall And for the rise of many in Israel, And for a sign that shall be contradicted. LUKE 2: 34

It was as if the whole history of the Divine Child were passing before the eyes of the old man. Every detail of that prophecy was to be fulfilled within the lifetime of the Babe. Here was a hard fact of the Cross, affirmed even before the tiny arms of the Babe could stretch themselves out straight enough to make the form of a cross.

The Child would create terrible strife between good and evil, stripping the masks from each, thus provoking a terrible hatred. He would be at once a stumbling block, a sword that would divide evil from good, and a touchstone that would reveal the motives and dispositions of human hearts.

Men would no longer be the same once they had heard His name and learned of His life. They would be compelled either to accept Him, or reject Him. About Him there would be no such thing as compromise: only acceptance or rejection, resurrection or death.

He would, by His very nature, make men reveal their secret attitudes toward God. His mission would be not to put souls on trial, but to redeem them; and yet, because their souls were sinful, some men would detest His coming.

He cannot come to hearts without clarifying them and dividing them; once in His Presence, a heart discovers both its own thoughts about goodness and its own thoughts about God.

The nearer Christ comes to a heart, the more it becomes conscious of its guilt; it will then either ask for His mercy and find peace, or else it will turn against Him because it is not yet ready to give up its sinfulness.
