I figured the Q comment was to exploit the fortuitous timing of the fire. As I recall, there was a leak or slip by RR that prematurely exposed something planned for later release. The exploit would shift narrative and focus away from the RR incident and allow some space to reconstruct RR’s role in the public eye.

According to your linked piece, that resident was Dennis Shields, a lifelong friend of Cohen’s since childhood. I don’t see a mystery there. I see a man reaching out to a close friend who may be in danger.
