Intro to Baking

Qresearch is a 24/7 beehive of activity where anons post their diggs, memes and prayers.

For this to happen requires ''bakers''--which is why they have been called "the core of this board."

Bakers perform several key functions:

not mad, and you don't need equipment to learn a lot about baking. had a friend who learned to ski by reading about it over and over again. When we got on the slopes, he could ski. (He's also a chess master and went to MIT – heh, heh – so kind of an autist.)

i'm often there late night, even tho i can't bake much right now. normally, the best way to support bakers is to take notes but that's not good right now. but can still help with housekeeping (dough repairs), shill stuff, and "anon education" (like telling them how to notable, why certain sources aren't credible, etc.)

got no response yet from pastebin.com re CAPTCHA fuckery for PRO accounts. Since i'm not baking now, i can wait. but HASTEBIN.COM is looking pretty damn good at the moment.

 

For any PRO users that don't know yet, pastebin algorithm not longer seems to like the word "trumping." Now requires a CAPTCHA, even for paid users. Gosh, i wonder why??

Yeah, what a time to start baking. All that happened after April made me sensitive to the need for backup boards, so we are not held hostage on any one of them. Have been baking on /qrb/ since July 14th and became owner of abandoned endchan board (qrbunker) in Feb, so digging can continue if 8 goes down for any length of time. Shills seems to hate alt boards–always attack them fiercely. Good reason to maintain, kek.

Anon feedback is good but best when given during the current bread not after. However, breads go fast and often anons don't notice something until it's too last.

Also, shills like to lie in wait til next bread and then attack notables in various ways. If so, baker will instinctively fight back on principle.

In this case, i gather that baker chose to use the description of the poster. I would prolly change it, often do that when description could use additional info–like a name–or when a headline is distorted (msm).

In the end, it's the baker's decision. But the more open bakers are to legit input, the better it works out for all concerned. thx for raising the issue.

Bakers have a wide range of note taking styles. Some bakers want only to use anon-nommed notables; others want short lists or only those notes that are directly relevant (however they interpret that). Some like planefag/boatfag reports more than others; some dislike too much news. All of us have preferences that inform our decisions.

 

Ideally, bakers can set aside preferences when anons give legit feedback. Bc when we don't, it not only creates ammo for shills but a hostile atmosphere. That's how FJ was able to take over the board last July. I was there that day and watched it all go down.

 

yes, would probably be good to talk more about this–about the specific things that tend to the problems. Like not including key details (like names) or spelling them correctly. Or giving an of- the-wall description that seems unconnected to the topic.

 

Notes just used to be for anons. But now they get picked up by many sources: wearethene.ws, twitter accts that list notables, twitter & YTube commentators. Also used as search terms for digging in qresear.ch. Since Q has emphasized "we are the news," many of us have wanted to see notes look more professional.

Providing clear descriptions <spoon feeding. Common sense tells us that and so does a raft of research. But writers with a creative bent dislike too much clarity. It's boring and conventional. More fun to give a clue and let others to reach for the meaning.

 

But then there's the idea of using this to push anons into becoming more involved, aware or whatever. Even the expression "spoon feeding" conveys the sense of the baker as an adult and anons as children. And not just as any adult but as a disapproving parent.

 

How we gonna get moar bakers if we act like bozos?? I started baking because of a great baker who inspired me. He was always asking anons for input, always lifting people up, making them feel like they mattered. Bakers like that create more bakers. Something to strive for.

Checked out a bunch of pastebin alternatives. Many aren't so hot, they lack useful features (lack the ability to view old pastes, etc), have obscure menus or are flaky. Best I've found so far is ControlC.com.

 

  • intuitive interface

  • no captcha

  • easy to add title

  • can delete past pastes

  • shows past pastes

 

i think you can use it wo/giving an email address - necessary for new bakers

If you have an account and type in a ControlC link (e.g., controlc.com/46b05c7c), you see the paste plus ads. But all yer gonna do there is copypasta the dough into a text editor right away.

 

No paid version as far as i know. probably can't change yer pastebin name, but that's no biggie - for me anyways.

i took it out of the dough the first time, thinking to help oss1 a while back, you may recall - he was thinking might be skullduggery so i restored it. Causing no end of confusion, was kind of fast bred, was trying to giving him a new paste b4 the end.

Wow - i saw that my Information Warfare thread is there, the archive anyway. There's a new thread in QRB, you know, although i haven't been doing too much with it. could be more fully reactivated, but i didn't really have the heart. was just getting the second one going in July when we got deplatformed. Had fought a huge battle to retain the original thread in May, which had involved hundreds of hours of meticulous digging. But lost in the end to FJ & his cronies, who deleted it bc it was "junk." as usual, turns out that those who started /qr/ were smart - picked a good program for pastes.

 

But the captchas suck. having now used other bins with captchas, notice that pastebin's is especially tiny and hard to read.

 

also, it sucks that they are basically censoring what we write. it would be so much easier to sub out "challenging" for "trumping" in the dough - which is exactly the point of censorship. you just upgraded to pro–great. i'm not sure but i think they just raised the price to $150 for pro as well. looks like you get "less for more" - such a deal.

just adding this post to explain why some bakers have been seeking an alternative to pastebin.com.

 

Maybe 10 days ago, PRO users of pastebin.com suddenly had to do captchas for every bread (normally no captchas are a benefit of paying for PRO membership). Baker found that the word "trumping" in the dough now triggers the captcha; must be a new algorithm pastebin is using. Aside from the hassle, seems like a form of censorship. Not something we are eager to support.

 

Despite inquiries, no response - and no change. So a couple of us have been looking for possible alternatives.

could be a shill tactic or could be sgrvl or one of his dedicated crew. Badly wanted to see the int'l threads broken out. not sure it's sgrvl but definitely his style–he'll push and push.

 

First he managed to get the int'l threads un-consolidated at some point, probably by pushing a baker about it. I reconsolidated it for another baker (who thought the bread looked funny); it was then unconsolidated again last week and again reconsolidated yesterday.

 

And hey - somebody doesn't like it!

 

The Newfags Guide is in the dough bc i was trying to talk to him at one point, showing him a possible way to put the direct links in the dough (multiple links on one line) plus the newfag's guide (which included a link he also wanted to the 'tryout' thread). It was like–'see, we're tryin' to work on your suggestions.'

 

He then spammed both the int'l threads and newfags guide until it wound up in the dough again. But it just took up so much space…….ha-ha-ha……

 

Sorry he doesn't like pastebins but we run outta room. What ya gonna do??

i just did some formatting changes on /qrb/ bread when i baked it this morning:

This was bc when CM worked on the red text, he must have done some other formatting changes - including making multiple spaces condense to ONE space. I'd been using multiple spaces them to create a little white space in the dough but now it's all gone.

so i put spaces back in with dots .....

Easier to read.

Would rather have white space; will probably keep experimenting.

 

Will post dough for baking class this afternoon. There are a couple of updates to make, will post by half hour or so before class.

Not about being lazy. And pastebin's are not self-defeating, just less convenient. The task is to determine what info is most salient and how to make ALL info accessible in one way or another.

 

Have to figure out how to present a lot of information without overwhelming the reader.

 

QR Dough is pretty packed as it is.

We always have to consolidate both in order to

a. make room for new info (of sufficient value, e.g., new campaigns)

b. keep dough from explanding to 10 pages

(this was the problem on endchan qanonresearch).

 

We gotta stop somewhere or find ways to point to material that can't be linked directly.

 

Take a look at the dough for this thread.

4 pages.

Getting pretty packed with info.

So gotta figure out what to do next week.

 

Include all the Q and As and baker tips tricks taps to date?

If so, bread will be 5-6 pages. Pretty long.

 

Other alternatives:

(a) Choose the most important examples (put the total in a pastebin)

(b) Convert them all to an FAQ section (good but i want more answers first)

(c) Keep the most "important" ones and put the rest in a pastebin w/link

 

One way or another, material will either get
