I'm still wondering how much Hussein was involved with the Bidens deals.

The Defense Department has been in talks with a handful of Eastern European countries about deploying thousands of soldiers closer to the Russian border, Defense Secretary Mark Esper said Tuesday in his prepared remarks in an appearance at the Atlantic Council.

 

In July, Esper announced that the 2nd Cavalry Regiment would be transferred from its home at U.S. Army Garrison Bavaria, Germany, to a stateside post to be determined, as part of withdrawal of nearly 12,000 troops from that country. He had also proposed deploying its infantry and armor troops back to Europe on a rotational basis, and his remarks Tuesday revealed some groundwork already being laid.

 

β€œIndeed, since … the signing of the defense cooperation agreement with Poland, my recent meetings with defense ministers from Romania and Bulgaria, and correspondence received from Baltic states, there is now the real opportunity of keeping the 2nd Cavalry Regiment forward in some of these countries on an enduring basis,” Esper said.

 

A Pentagon spokesman clarified that Esper was referring to an purely rotational presence.

 

β€œβ€¦ the nearly 4,500 members of the 2nd Cavalry Regiment will return to the United States as other Stryker units begin continuous rotations farther east in the Black Sea region, giving us a more enduring presence to enhance deterrence and reassure allies along NATO’s southeastern flank,” Esper said during the July 29 roll-out of his Europe posture plan.

7 Charged In Florida Smuggling Ring That Funneled Thousands Of Flying Squirrels Into South Korea

 

Earlier this year, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) officers made the first arrests in a series, which now totals seven suspects and 25 felony charges with additional arrests forthcoming. This group of suspects have been charged with Racketeering, Money Laundering, Scheming to Defraud and other organized criminal laws involving an elaborate organized enterprise to smuggle Florida’s wildlife to interstate and international buyers.

 

In January 2019, the FWC received a complaint from a concerned citizen about individuals illegally trapping flying squirrels in a rural area of Marion County. Flying squirrels, a protected wild animal in Florida, are sold internationally in the pet trade. Over the next 19 months, FWC Investigators pieced together an elaborate scheme in which flying squirrels were illegally captured by poachers in multiple counties throughout central Florida. The flying squirrels were then sold to a wildlife dealer in Bushnell and were laundered through the licensed business of this dealer, who claimed they were captive bred.

 

The poachers deployed as many as 10,000 squirrel traps throughout central Florida and as many as 3,600 flying squirrels were captured in less than three years. In three years, the wildlife dealer received as much as $213,800 in gross illegal proceeds. The FWC estimates the international retail value of the poached wildlife will exceed $1 million.

 

Investigators learned buyers from South Korea would travel to the United States and purchase the flying squirrels from the wildlife dealer in Bushnell. The animals were then driven in rental cars to Chicago, where the source of the animals was further concealed, and the animals were exported to Asia by an unwitting international wildlife exporter. As the operation expanded, couriers from the state of Georgia would take over the transports. One Georgia courier would fly to Orlando, rent a vehicle and drive the animals to Atlanta. A second hired courier would then drive the animals to Chicago. Each of the new participants would not know the identity of the other suspects.

 

As FWC Investigators monitored the operation, they learned the Florida suspects were dealing in multiple species of poached animals. Protected freshwater turtles and alligators were illegally taken and laundered through other seemingly legitimate licensed businesses. Documents were falsified concealing the true source of the wildlife.

Patreon is profiting from QAnon

At least 14 creators are monetizing the violence-linked conspiracy theory – and Patreon is taking a cut too

Patreon a platform that provides β€œcontent creators” with tools to run membership-based subscription services and earn a monthly income is helping QAnon influencers monetize the dangerous conspiracy theory. And it appears the company is cashing in too, taking a 5-12% cut depending on the user’s payment plan even though the content seemingly violates the platform’s terms of use.

 

Media Matters has identified 14 prominent QAnon content creators on Patreon who are profiting by peddling the violent conspiracy theory.

 

Patreon’s terms of use conflict with QAnon content

According to Patreon’s terms of use, creators with a β€œknown affiliation with violent or dangerous groups” or β€œviolent hate groups” are not eligible to receive funds through the platform, β€œno matter the purpose or apparent intention of their Patreon page.” Additionally, β€œany creator praising or actively supporting these groups or their leaders won’t be allowed on Patreon.”

 

Patreon’s policy also encompasses calls for violence and glorification of groups β€œknown to support ideologies that would be classified as hate speech” as grounds for removal from the platform.

 

Even more, the platform claims to β€œproactively look at some pages and posts on Patreon and review reported pages to identify potential violations of our guidelines,” which β€œmay include looking at what is supported by funds received through Patreon.”

 

β€œWe can disable your account at our discretion,” Patreon warns creators.

 

The QAnon conspiracy theory seemingly violates Patreon’s terms of service. It is centered around claims that President Donald Trump is secretly fighting against members of the β€œdeep state” and β€œpedophiles,” who will supposedly be rounded up and executed soon. These threats and calls for violence targeting Trump’s political opponents are often wildly anti-Semitic. This unfounded conspiracy theory promoting imminent violence against the president’s enemies has been classified by the FBI as a domestic terror threat and has been directly linked to multiple killings, a kidnapping, and even terrorism.

 

The majority of the QAnon β€œcreators” on Patreon identified below have already been banned from other social media platforms because of the inherent threats, repeated acts of violence, and frequent misinformation campaigns closely associated with the conspiracy theory. The Daily Dot reported on the prevalence of QAnon content on Patreon in August, but the platform has yet to make substantial changes to enforce its policies against supporters of the destructive conspiracy theory.

 

How Patreon profits from QAnon

Despite the blatant violence and frequent racism associated with QAnon, Patreon has yet to crack down on promoters of the conspiracy theory on its platform. In fact, the company is even profiting from it.

 

Patreon provides very little transparency about how much money QAnon influencers are taking in or how many β€œpatrons” are subscribed to their platforms because creators can choose to restrict the information visible on their page. However, according to Patreon’s platform fee policy, the company takes 5%, 8%, or 12% of the creator’s monthly income depending on their payment plan, as well as varying β€œpayment processing fees” and β€œpayout fees.” Creators active before May 2019 are held to a flat pricing fee of 5%.

 

For instance, QAnon account RedPill78 was recently removed from YouTube but has 674 supporters on Patreon and reports receiving $4,065 per month. This comes to approximately $48,780 per year, of which a minimum of $2,439 goes to Patreon.

 

SGT Report, another QAnon creator that was recently removed from YouTube, has 1,445 patrons with a fee of $5 per month, meaning the creator is accumulating $7,225 per month and roughly $86,700 per year. Under its platform fee policy, Patreon’s annual minimum cut is $4,335.

 

It is impossible to provide an accurate total figure for how much money Patreon is making as a platform from the conspiracy theory because many QAnon creators have their total patron numbers or monthly incomes hidden. However, it is clear that Patreon has enabled QAnon influencers to both spread the dangerous conspiracy theory and profit while doing it. Even worse, Patreon is seemingly ignoring these creators’ clear terms-of-use violations while taking a cut of those profits from QAnon followers.

 

Patreon must enforce its own terms of service and remove QAnon-affiliated creators or risk being further implicated in the spread of the violent conspiracy theory. This action is long overdue.

Biden's son fails drug test, is discharged from Navy

 

The younger son of Vice President Joe Biden failed a drug test for cocaine, a month after his commissioning last year into the Navy Reserve and was discharged.

 

Hunter Biden, an ensign, had been selected for commission as a reserve officer through the Direct Commission Officer program in 2012, according to Cmdr. Ryan Perry, a Navy spokesman. He was commissioned into the Navy Reserve unit for Navy Public Affairs Support Element East in Norfolk, Va. Biden, who had no prior military experience, was one of six officers commissioned nationally into the Navy Reserve public affairs division.

 

"It was the honor of my life to serve in the U.S. Navy, and I deeply regret and am embarrassed that my actions led to my administrative discharge," Biden said in statement issued through his lawyer. "I respect the Navy's decision. With the love and support of my family, I'm moving forward."

 

The incident was first reported late Thursday in The Wall Street Journal. Citing "people familiar with the matter," it reported that Biden was given a drug test in June 2013 that tested positive for cocaine.

 

Biden, 44, was discharged from the Navy Reserve in February. He has worked as a lawyer, lobbyist and managing partner at the investment firm Rosemont Seneca Partners in Washington. He was hired in May to join the board of Burisma Holdings, Ukraine's largest private oil and gas producer, and be in charge of its legal department.

 

A spokeswoman for the vice president declined to comment.

 

Applicants to the direct commissioning program for the Public Affairs Reserve must hold a baccalaureate degree or higher from an accredited institution, preferably in the fields of communication, English, journalism, broadcasting, public relations, rhetoric/speech, marketing, international studies or public administration. Applicants may not have passed their 42nd birthday at time of commissioning or an age waiver is required. The board meets twice annually and, on average, about 35 people apply, Ryan said.

 

Hunter Biden sought and received a waiver to join the service because of his age.

ICE Arrests 54 In NYC Area, Targets Illegal Immigrants In Sanctuary Cities

 

NEW YORKβ€”U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Enforcement Removal Operations (ERO) officers completed an immigration enforcement activity, which resulted in the arrest of 54 immigration violators throughout the New York City Metropolitan Area, and the neighboring counties of Nassau, Suffolk, Dutchess, Ulster and Westchester.

 

The nationwide, weeklong immigration enforcement activity, which concluded Oct. 9, focused on targeting and arresting individuals in sanctuary cities.

 

β€œICE continues to protect communities by taking criminal aliens off the streets regardless of any locality’s cooperation policies – which is part of our congressionally mandated mission,” said ICE Senior Official Performing the Duties of the Director Tony H. Pham. β€œOfficers and agents of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement are sworn federal law enforcement officers who enforce U.S. immigration laws created by Congress to keep this country safe.”

 

Individuals arrested in New York were citizens and nationals from the following countries: China, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Grenada, Guyana, Honduras, Ireland, Jamaica, Mexico, Moldova, Mozambique, Pakistan, Panama, Peru and St. Lucia.

 

The New York arrests included charges filed for assault, sexual assault against a child, lewd and lascivious acts upon a child, rape and criminal possession of a loaded firearm. Other charges include criminal possession of stolen property, driving while intoxicated, robbery and grand larceny.

 

β€œLet us not gloss over the fact that the vast majority of the individuals arrested during this operation have criminal histories. It’s frightening that New York City politicians created laws that force local law enforcement agencies to release dangerous criminals back into the community despite the seriousness of their crimes,” said Thomas R. Decker, ICE ERO New York field office director.

 

Of the more than 50 individuals ERO officers arrested, more than 30 were released from local law enforcement custody with active ICE detainers; eight had outstanding removal orders; eight were previously removed or deported; five were criminally prosecuted; two were active gang members, and one was a foreign fugitive. All but two of the individuals arrested had criminal histories in the U.S.

 

All individuals arrested during the immigration enforcement activity will remain in ICE custody pending the outcome of their removal proceedings before an immigration judge.

After opting not to upload Joe Rogan Experience (JRE) episodes involving controversial guests like Alex Jones and Milo Yiannopoulos, Spotify has ripped down multiple QAnon podcasts.

Following a recent report about the presence of QAnon podcasts on Spotify, company officials removed four programs – X22 Report, Praying Medic, Indigenous Mike, and Pardon My American – from the streaming service. The podcasts no longer appear in the platform’s search results, though it’s unclear whether other QAnon shows remain available to stream, or whether QAnon programs will now be barred from Spotify at the outset.

 

Ahead of the quick-approaching presidential election, other prominent companies have also taken steps to curb the prevalence and influence of those associated with the three-year-old conspiracy theory. Facebook banned all QAnon pages and groups two weeks back, on the heels of numerous case-by-case account prohibitions earlier this year. And YouTube, for its part, took aim at users and videos associated with the entity β€œby removing more conspiracy theory content used to justify real-world violence” on Monday, October 5th.

 

For Spotify, which has decidedly less experience in content moderation than YouTube and Facebook, the move is indicative of the far-reaching challenges to come as more podcasters – and podcast fans – begin to utilize the platform. And in an immediate sense, the Stockholm-based streaming service is already grappling with free expression-related difficulties.

Recent weeks’ Joe Rogan Experience headlines have largely overshadowed the initially noted absence of controversial episodes on Spotify, though both appear to stem from the same underlying disagreement and criticism (from some listeners and employees themselves). Stated concisely, the overarching causes of the pushback against JRE episode 1,509, with author Abigail Shrier, are set to generate additional conflict moving forward – heightening the significance of Spotify’s content-moderation role.

 

More broadly, the company isn’t without similar obstacles on the music front, which also seem poised to grow in quantity and scope. In the most recent β€œepisode” of the saga, Bellingcat, the β€œinvestigative website” went to β€œonline” war with the opposition in Ukraine, since its representatives attempted to provide factual data that some of the evidence was very obviously doctored.

 

The SBU’s credibility was questioned since it released the faked recordings, and the Volodymyr Zelensky administration continues its questionable policy supporting radicals and employing the Poroshenko-like policy of sabotaging the political settlement of the conflict in Eastern Ukraine.

 

The party of opposition figure Anatoly Shariy is gaining popularity and is bringing to light the misconduct of the SBU and Zelensky, and Bellingcat, with its ties to MI6 immediately jumped to the rescue. And it is hardly a coincidence that Zelensky visited MI6 Headquarters for talks in his visit to the UK in October 2020.

 

On October 18th, Ukrainian politician Anatoly Shariy released a video which attempts to shed light on who is actually behind the Bellingcat β€œinvestigative website.”

 

Notably, in the video Shariy provides evidence that the tapes in which Igor Bezler was allegedly implicated in downing the MH-17 were actually doctored.

 

He confirmed that the Ukrainian security service – SBU edited the tapes, they were recorded during the hostilities in Eastern Ukraine, but the original tapes had Bezler and others speak about Ukrainian Su warplanes, and not about the MH-17.

 

This is a main point in Bellingcat’s investigation on the matter.

 

Over the last several years Anatoly Shariy has come a long way – from a journalist and blogger, turning into quite the influential politician in exile.

 

This is primarily thanks to his unrelenting efforts and everyday work that seem to never stop. He, almost single-handedly, took apart the narrative of former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, and is dismantling that of the current president – Volodymyr Zelensky, and he did all that online.

 

He is an expert in debunking media fakes, and this turned into a sort of activism, through his network of avid supporters.

 

Local elections are to take place in Ukraine on October 25th, and the Party of Shariy is to take part.

 

Back in the general elections of 2019, his party got 2.23%, which is approximately 330,000 votes, but didn’t pass the 5% threshold to enter Parliament, since then it appears that his popularity has risen.

 

The work he does is evidenced by the fact that his supporters, relatives and party members have repeatedly been subject to attacks from structures affiliated to the Azov Battalion and other volunteer battalions.

 

They are often subject to abuse or attacks by radical individuals who are quite openly being supported by the Ukrainian government. And still, Shariy’s party remains as a thorn in the side of the current Kiev government, shedding light on its questionable activities.

QAnon, a conspiracy theory that began on anonymous message boards and believes US President Donald Trump is fighting a battle against evil, has jumped from the online world to everyday life. Now the broad and baseless hoax is influencing politics, with dozens of congressional candidates and 50% of Trump supporters believing the Democratic party is involved with child sex-trafficking. Just to be absolutely clear: These are bogus claims.

 

The conspiracy theory appears to have started in 2017 when an online poster using the handle "Q" claimed ties to President Trump. Other conspiracy theorists found and amplified Q's posts, known as Q drops, expanding the audience for the cryptic messages. Three years on, QAnon continues to grow at a quick clip, and the FBI says it poses a threat to the nation.

Trump says he has no knowledge of the sprawling conspiracy theory. "I just don't know about QAnon," he told an audience during an NBC town hall on Oct.15.

 

Understanding QAnon requires a look at where the conspiracy theory started, what its followers believe and how it's provoked acts of violence in the real world. The hoax has troubled lawmakers enough to prompt a bipartisan resolution condemning it.

QAnon sounds wild. What can you tell me about it?

QAnon is an online conspiracy theory that claims Trump is waging a secret war against a deep state of Democratic elites and Hollywood stars who are pedophiles and Satan worshipers. Cannibalism is in there someplace too. Really, that's what they believe.

 

The conspiracy theory dates back to October 2017, when an anonymous post on a message board said extradition agreements had been struck with several countries "in case of cross border run" by Hillary Clinton, Trump's Democratic rival for the White House in 2016. Of course, more than one person has claimed to be Q, with one theory saying the mysterious figure is a time traveler. (Even some QAnon followers, who've proved they'll believe just about anything, think that's a bit too crazy.)

 

Paul Furber, a conspiracy theorist from Johannesburg, has been identified as possibly being the original Q poster because of an appearance he made on the Alex Jones-hosted InfoWars TV show a few months after the first post. The appearance on the conspiracy-minded program, which has a following among Trump supporters, was key to bringing QAnon from online message boards to a more mainstream audience.

 

Jim Watkins, the owner of the 8kun message board, is another person often speculated to be the mysterious figure, because Q's posts migrated to his site not long after they first appeared. Neither Furber nor Watkins responded to requests for comment. Neither has made a public statement about possible involvement in the conspiracy theory, though Watkins was responsible for creating the QAnon SuperPAC.

Order #1 Man Battle Stations Missile - A battle station is an assigned position or watch station that you report to when entering battle conditions. On a submarine you can fire torpedoes or missiles so the announcement should specify which battle condition to expect because you may not have the same station for both. My station for missile was the Auxiliary Throttle Control Station. For torpedo it was the aft Hydraulic Control Station for the planes.

The study of Koresh’s death cult was intense. The Waco Tribune-Herald ran a series of investigative reports on the Branch Davidians and David Koresh called β€œThe Sinful Messiah,” exposing allegations of Koresh abusing children and committing statutory rape, as well as fathering several children from a variety of women and girls, some as young as 13, among the Branch Davidians who lived with him.

 

β€œI don’t think he was a madman,” Bob Ricks, the FBI’s main media spokesman throughout the standoff, said of Koresh 25 years later. β€œI think probably the best description of him is a master manipulator.”

He often refuses to wear a mask and may be responsible for as many as 40 people in and around the White House becoming infected by the coronavirus. Like the huckster selling snake oil or the phony shaman dancing around a fire, Trump proclaimed himself feeling β€œgreat” in a video he tweeted to his millions of adoring fans. His magic is that of the wizard in the Wizard of Oz, and few who love him would dare pull back the curtain.
