The great FOX News stars should seriously consider leaving this biased organization that did more to damage the election on Election Night than any organization out there. People trusted FOX. But FOX delayed calls for Trump wins and projected Biden wins immediately. They did this so President Trump would never have the lead. Their comments and projections were disgusting.

Dr. Anthony Fauci said Thursday the global coronavirus outbreak will not be a pandemic for "a lot longer" because of the development of vaccines, striking a hopeful note even as the situation worsens in the short-term.

 

"Certainly it's not going to be pandemic for a lot longer because I believe the vaccines are going to turn that around," Fauci said at an event hosted by the think tank Chatham House.

 

Fauci, the nation's top infectious disease expert, said that while the virus will likely cease raging across the globe as it is now, it could circulate quietly below the surface, at least in certain areas.

 

"Putting it to rest doesn't mean eradicating it," he said. "I doubt we're going to eradicate this, I think we need to plan that this is something we may need to maintain control over chronically, it may be something that becomes endemic that we have to just be careful about."

Connecticut House Lawmaker Discovered Winner After Race Called for Opponent

 

Connecticut Republican House Rep. Craig Fishbein was called the loser in a race for his seat until an error was found and it flipped back to him.

 

The win was previously called for Democrat Jim Jinks, according to the CT Mirror. Wallingford Town Clerk Barbara Thompson told news outlets that her office on Tuesday found that votes hadnโ€™t been recorded in Connecticutโ€™s reporting system at Yalesville Elementary School.

 

โ€œI canโ€™t answer if it was a clerical error or a computer error in the elections management system,โ€ Thompson told the Mirror. โ€œAll I know is we caught it yesterday and amended it.โ€

 

The Connecticut Secretary of Stateโ€™s data says Fishbein is now ahead of Jinks by 21 votes, but a recount will be conducted on Thursday because the margin of error is within 0.50 percent.

 

โ€œThereโ€™s no circumstance when an error like that is not caught and corrected,โ€ Gabe Rosenberg, a spokesman for the secretary of the state, told the Mirror.

 

In Michigan, a similar incident was reported in Antrim County where a GOP officialโ€™s race was initially called for the Democratic challenger before it was revealed that a software error flipped several thousand votes. Michiganโ€™s Department of State said last week that the clerk didnโ€™t update software that was used to collect voting machine data.

 

GOP officials, however, expressed concerns in a press conference last week, suggesting that other counties used the same software from Dominion Voting Systems. Dominion Systems has denied the GOPโ€™s allegations.

 

The incident comes in the midst of lawsuits and allegations of voter fraud and irregularities in several battleground states.

We received multiple reports last night via Twitter of low-flying helicopters in the area, but they were not the recently reported police, news, or Department of Energy air traffic:

 

 

I have lived in the Silver Spring MD, area for over 50+ years and have a keen sense of the air traffic over the Silver Spring Maryland area. This is the East / North East area above DC Bordered by the Beltway 495, RT 29 Colesville Road, and RT 193 University Boulevard. On average, there are many โ€œwhitetopsโ€ Huey UH-1B Choppers and OD Green UH-60โ€™s which routinely fly between Bethesda and Andrews. They are required to follow the beltway 495 and travel between bases to shuttle VIPs and Sick/Injured to Bethesda.

 

The past 3 weeks have been a daily barrage of UH-1B and UH-60 Helicopters, sometimes 30+ a day, not transporting, but โ€œpatrollingโ€.

 

Where I live, These choppers are routinely flying at 600 feet and lower- not point to point, but in circular search patterns. One helo was so low I could see the pilotsโ€™ boots through the bottom window. These flights are going on at all hours of the day and night.

 

I have lived in this area for over 50+ years and have a keen awareness of aviation and the flight patterns of civilian and military aircraft. The current state of the country and the unstable messages that are coming from the government is extremely disconcerting. The added โ€œpatrollingโ€ overflights of neighborhoods is troubling.

 

I can tell when a UH-1 is coming, turning, or leaving just by the sound. As I am typing this, There have been no less than 4 UH1-Bโ€™s and 1 UH-60 that have flown overhead, circled, and headed in a Westerly direction only to return again traveling towards Andrews AFB. I am well aware of our location and can pick out the type of copter just by their signature sound. There have also been Lakotas flying with UH-60 Blackhawks as well.

 

These are not point-to-point shuttle flights between locations, these are patrolling flights by the US Military. Currently, Another UH-1B is Flying overhead and performing a slow turning sweep now. This is the 4th in an hour of patrolling.

 

This is a warning. These flights are not normal air traffic for this area.

Biden affirms security treaty applies to Senkaku Islands in Suga call

 

U.S. President-elect Joe Biden sought to shore up ties with key Asian allies on Thursday morning, by making his first calls with the leaders of Japan, South Korea and Australia.

 

In Biden's 15-minute conversation with Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga, the two leaders agreed to cooperate on fighting the coronavirus and climate change. Suga said the Japan-U.S. alliance, while needing strengthening, is the cornerstone of his country's diplomacy and security, stressing that it is essential for the peace and prosperity of an increasingly unstable region.

 

Biden confirmed that Article 5 of the Japan-U.S. Security Treaty will be applied to the defense of Okinawa Prefecture and the Senkaku Islands. Article 5 stipulates that the U.S. is obliged to defend Japan should its territories come under attack. Former President Barack Obama was the first U.S. leader to declare that the pact applies to the Senkakus.

 

Chinese vessels have been sighted near the islands, claimed by Beijing and known as Diaoyu in China, on more than 280 days this year โ€“ moves that have ratcheted up pressure on Japan and drawn protests from Tokyo.

 

When asked about the call, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin told reporters Thursday that the islands are "China's inherent territory" and that the U.S.-Japan security treaty is "a product of the Cold War and should not harm the interests of third parties, let alone endanger regional peace and stability." Suga said he looked forward to "meeting [Biden] as soon as possible," in reference to a planned February 2021 visit to the U.S. after the presidential inauguration ceremony. The Japanese prime minister called for cooperation toward realizing a "free and open Indo-Pacific" led by Japan and the U.S. He also requested cooperation on the issue of North Korean abductions of Japanese citizens. After the call, Suga told reporters "it was very important to work with Biden to strengthen the Japan-U.S. alliance."

 

This is a departure from President Donald Trump, who was seeking a review of the alliance during the presidential campaign four years ago, before reaffirming that the treaty covers the Senkakus to former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe at their first summit in February 2017. Also separating the pair from Trump are their commitments to tackling climate change. Suga has set a goal of reducing carbon emissions to net zero by 2050, and Biden has pledged to return the U.S. to the Paris Agreement.

 

On the COVID-19 response, Biden has called on a team of experts to develop an action plan to be implemented at the same time as the inauguration of his administration, while Suga plans to align with the U.S. in the development and securement of vaccines. The two sides committed to keep on coordinating views on China's advances in the South China Sea and the East China Sea, as well as North Korea's nuclear and missile development. Japan will pay close attention to how Biden approaches China in the face of the ongoing Washington-Beijing tensions.

 

Meanwhile, South Korean President Moon Jae-in also had a call with Biden on Thursday morning, in which the pair agreed on the need for a strong alliance and keeping peace on the Korean Peninsula. "I just spoke to @JoeBiden and congratulated him on his election. We reaffirmed our firm commitment to a robust ROK-US alliance and peaceful and prosperous Korean Peninsula. Going forward, I will work closely with him to meet global challenges including COVID-19 and climate change," Moon said on Twitter. But with Biden calling North Korean leader Kim Jong Un a "thug," analysts say Moon may face difficulties pushing for engagement with Pyongyang. Some see the North resuming military provocations to raise its negotiation power with the incoming Biden administration.

 

"The U.S. and its allies need to coordinate responses to North Korea's upgraded long-range and submarine-based missiles because Pyongyang's next move may be to conduct a provocative test as a 'welcome gift' to Biden before demanding financial benefits to reduce military tensions," said Leif-Eric Easley, an associate professor of international studies at Ewha Womans University in Seoul. "A Biden administration is more likely to pursue working-level talks with Pyongyang rather than summits and big deals."

 

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison also spoke with Biden. "There are no greater friends and no greater allies than Australia and the U.S.," Morrison tweeted after the call. "I look forward to strengthening even further our deep and enduring alliance, and to working with him closely as we face the world's many challenges together."

Helicopter with international peacekeepers crashes in Egyptโ€™s Sinai, killing 7 โ€“ officials

 

At least seven people were killed after a helicopter belonging to an international peacekeeping force crashed in Egyptโ€™s Sinai Peninsula on Thursday, Israeli and Egyptian officials have confirmed.

 

Five Americans were among those killed in the crash, AP reported, citing an Israeli official. The victims also included French and Czech members of the peacekeeping forces, according to the official, who added that Israel initially sent a helicopter to rescue any wounded.

 

However, that mission was called off after the deaths were confirmed.

 

The Multinational Force and Observers (MFO) office in Israel confirmed there had been a helicopter accident, Reuters reported.
