Discovery and history[edit]

Stegosaurus, one of the many dinosaurs first collected and described in the Bone Wars, was originally named by Othniel Charles Marsh in 1877,[2] from remains recovered north of Morrison, Colorado. These first bones became the holotype of Stegosaurus armatus. Marsh initially believed the remains were from an aquatic turtle-like animal, and the basis for its scientific name, 'roof(ed) lizard' was due to his early belief that the plates lay flat over the animal's back, overlapping like the shingles (tiles) on a roof. A wealth of Stegosaurus material was recovered over the next few years, and Marsh published several papers on the genus from 1877 to 1897.[3] In 1878, Edward Drinker Cope named Hypsirhophus discurus, as another stegosaurian based on fragmentary fossils specimens from Cope's Quarry 3 near the "Cope's Nipple" site in Garden Park, Colorado.[4] Many later researchers have considered Hypsirhophus to be a synonym of Stegosaurus,[3] though Peter Galton (2010) suggested that it is distinct based on differences in the vertebrae.[5]

Far-left San Francisco DA blasts Kyle Rittenhouse posting bail: 'White shooter motivated by racial bias'

San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin, the far-left progressive who became the San Fran's top prosecutor this year, argued against Kyle Rittenhouse's cash bail by citing "strong evidence" of "racial bias."

 

As TheBlaze reported, Rittenhouse β€” the 17-year-old who made national headlines during the Kenosha riots for shooting and killing two people in what he claims was self-defense β€” posted $2 million bail on Friday.

 

Rittenhouse has been charged with two counts of murder. But even the criminal complaint against Rittenhouse reads like Rittenhouse acted in self-defense. There is, indeed, evidence, such as videos of the alleged crimes, that suggests Rittenhouse's self-defense claims are valid.

 

If Rittenhouse is convicted of the charges against him, he faces a mandatory life sentence in prison.

What did Boudin say?

 

Boudin said Friday that Rittenhouse's bail is yet more evidence of the "failings of money bail." Boudin both injected race into his reaction, and spoke about Rittenhouse as if the teenager is guilty of the crimes alleged against him, despite the presumption of innocence.

 

"Anyone want to understand the failings of money bail?" Boudin said. "Look no further: strong evidence of a white shooter motivated by racial bias committing a double murder with an assault rifle. But wealth sets him free."

Boudin, who once worked for the late Venezuelan socialist dictator Hugo Chavez, was elected as San Fransisco's top prosecutor last year. His election was celebrated by progressive politicians and social justice activists. Even Sen. Kamala Harris, the media-declared vice president-elect, welcomed Boudin's election.

 

Boudin β€” who is self-described socialist, according to Vice β€” has implemented numerous far-left reforms to San Francisco's criminal justice system, including ending cash bail.

 

According to Boudin, cash bail is a "discriminatory and unsafe approach to pretrial detention." Now, pretrial release in San Francisco is determined by "public safety, not on wealth," Boudin said in January, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.

 

Boudin argued cash bail is essentially racist. From his office:

 

Money bail has disproportionately impacted our poorest communities as well as communities of color. In San Francisco, African-Americans pay over $120 per capita per year in non-refundable bail fees compared to $10 per capita per year for white individuals. Additionally, since 99% of people who post bail in San Francisco use private bail bond companies, there is an instant and dramatic transfer of wealth from low-income neighborhoods and communities of color to private industry; roughly $10-$15 million in non-refundable fees are paid annually to bail bond agencies.

 

The San Fransisco police union has not been fond of Boudin.

 

Reacting to his policy ending cash bail, union president Tony Montoya said, "Mr. Boudin is in the process of building the largest criminal justice revolving door imaginable, and San Franciscans will pay a heavy price for it."

Ohio Shifts Red: Analysts Believe Buckeye State No Longer Swing State

 

Analysts no longer consider Ohio to be a swing state, as its β€œblue wall” was breached in 2016 by then presidential candidate Donald Trump, as well as many other Republican candidates down-ballot, and has remained so in the 2020 election.

 

β€œIt’s way off from being the swing state it was several decades ago,” said NBC News contributor David Wasserman, adding that he believes Ohio is no longer a bellwether state that predicts the outcome of a presidential election, reported NBC News.

 

If Joe Biden takes office in January, the former vice president will be the first candidate to win a presidency without carrying Ohio since 1960.

 

The report added that many Ohio counties have turned increasingly red since 2012, with only 38 percent of Trumbull County voting Republican in the 2012 presidential election, compared to 54 percent in 2020.

 

In Jackson County, for example, 59 percent of Republicans voted for Mitt Romney in 2012, while 76 percent voted for Trump in 2020.

 

β€œOhio now is a much more red state than it is a purple state,” said Mark Caleb Smith, a professor of political science at Cedarville University in Ohio.

 

β€œIf you look at recent elections, statewide, presidential or gubernatorial, Republicans have done extremely well,” Smith continued. β€œI just think that means Ohio has taken a different turn.”

 

β€œI think Ohio has shifted a little bit, and it’s no longer that middle part of the country β€” it’s probably a little more on the right, traditional, conservative side,” the professor added.

 

β€œI think that Ohio really isn’t a representative of the whole country the way that it once was,” said Smith.

 

No Republican presidential candidate has ever won the White House without winning Ohio, as it has been one of two states that almost always predict which candidate is headed for defeat, noted the Washington Post in 2016.

 

β€œIt is no longer the case that β€˜so goes Ohio then so goes the nation,'” said Christopher Devine, assistant professor of political science at the University of Dayton, reported NBC News.

 

The report also noted that Ohio’s state Senate has 24 Republicans to nine Democrats, while its state House has 61 Republicans to 38 Democrats, along with a Republican governor, state attorney general, and U.S. senator.

 

β€œI don’t think Ohio has changed much [since 2016]. I think the national mood has changed around Ohio,” said Smith. β€œI think it’s clear [Trump] has very broad appeal here. He visits the state regularly.”

 

β€œOhio is sort of moving out of that moderate, in-the-middle position it’s been [in] historically and moving toward a redder, more conservative position,” he added.

Democratic Minnesota Governor's 4-week lockdown banning ALL social gatherings, sparks protest at Tim Walz's mansion

 

Minnesotans can not gather with anyone outside their household even with a mask and social distancing

 

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz announced on Wednesday a rigid month-long lockdown order that bans all social gatherings of people who do not live in the same household, even if participants wear face masks and practice proper social distancing. On Saturday, Minnesotans went to Walz's mansion to protest the drastic lockdown orders.

 

Walz's severe new coronavirus restrictions, which went into effect on Friday at 11:59 p.m. and will be in place until Dec.18, will shut down bars, restaurants, and breweries, except for takeout, delivery, or walk-up service, according to the MinnPost. The order will also close gyms, indoor sports facilities, theaters, bowling alleys, arcades, go-kart tracks, and other entertainment businesses for an entire month.

 

Retail businesses, barbershops, and salons are permitted to stay open, but may only operate at 50% capacity.

 

All youth, high school, and adult sports leagues are prohibited for the next four weeks, but college and professional teams are exempt from the order.

 

In one of the most extreme measures ever implemented during the COVID-19 pandemic, Minnesota will have draconian measures regarding social gatherings.

 

From the Minnesota Department of Health:

 

Social gatherings are groups of people who are not members of the same household, congregated together for a common or coordinated social, community, or leisure purpose – even if social distancing can be maintained. This prohibition includes planned and spontaneous gatherings as well as public and private gatherings. Most commercial activities are not considered social gatherings, so this change will not impact most industries.

 

The harsh restrictions come with punitive penalties, including fines of up to $1,000 or 90 days in prison.

 

"Any business owner, manager, or supervisor who requires or encourages any of their employees, contractors, vendors, volunteers, or interns to violate this Executive Order is guilty of a gross misdemeanor and upon conviction must be punished by a fine not to exceed $3,000 or by imprisonment for not more than a year," Walz's order states. "In addition to those criminal penalties, the Attorney General, as well as city and county attorneys, may investigate and seek any civil relief" of up to $25,000 per occurrence.

 

The stringent restrictions were not welcomed by many Minnesotans, and some who demanded freedom protested against the new lockdowns outside of Walz's mansion in St. Paul. Many protesters waved American and Trump flags outside the Minnesota governor's residence while they chanted: "U-S-A! U-S-A!"

 

The crowd hung signs of infamous dictators from history on the fence of the property. Others held signs that dared Walz to arrest them for attending a Thanksgiving gathering with their family.

 

A car parade protest drove by the governor's mansion and honked their horns.

 

The crowd also sang "America (My Country, 'Tis of Thee)."

California Gov. Gavin Newsom on Thursday ordered a limited stay-at-home order that requires β€œgenerally that non-essential work, movement and gatherings stop between 10 PM and 5 AM in counties in the purple tier.”

 

However, among those who are exempted from the order are those who work in the entertainment field.

 

The stay-at-home order applies to every county in Southern California and affects 94 percent of the state’s population, except for people who work in the entertainment industry, Deadline reports.

 

The governor’s office told Deadline on Thursday that it doesn’t apply to entertainment industry workers, who are considered essential workers according to Newsom’s original stay-at-home order from March.

 

Under the Industrial, Commercial, Residential, and Sheltering facilities and services section detailing who is considered an essential worker, it says: β€œWorkers supporting the entertainment industries, studios, and other related establishments, provided they follow covid-19 public health guidance around physical distancing.”

I got confused as well when I was first researching in corporations.

 

"Foreign" simply means that its HQ is domiciled in another State or jurisdiction than where it normally operates. A jurisdiction can include country.

 

This is why you see a lot of corporations based in Delaware but its actual offices somewhere else.

 

In Canada, there's a rule where a company has to include a certain number of Canadian Directors for corporations registered in certain provinces or territories. So if I am reading that correctly Trump really has to wait to go to SCOTUS until the vote has been certified, because until then the 'states' haven't acted and so they aren't a party to the action, only individual officials are. Until the states act and certify the vote SCOTUS only has appellate jurisdiction so any claims have to work their way through the appeals process. Once certification occurs Trump can file directly with SCOTUS.

 

Put another way what we are seeing right now is only skirmishes while the main forces are arranging themselves. The real battle starts after certification. Then a claim can be filed with SCOTUS, and the actual evidence can be presented.

CARACAS, Venezuela – Election results decried by government opponents as a brazen power grab were manipulated by at least 1 million votes, the company that provided Venezuela with its voting system said Wednesday.

 

Antonio Mugica, chief executive of London-based Smartmatic, which has provided technology for Venezuelan elections since 2004, said it detected an inflated turnout figure Sunday through the nation’s automated balloting system.

 

β€œWith the deepest regret, we have to say that the turnout data presented on Sunday, July 30, for the constituent election was manipulated,” Mugica said at a news conference in London.

 

His company’s analysis of the data, Mugica said, suggested an inflated number of β€œat least 1 million” – a potentially important difference that would allow the government to claim a higher turnout than an opposition-held unofficial ballot last month.

 

The announcement adds to growing allegations of massive irregularities in the election, which selected a new pro-government super congress with vast powers to change the constitution and supplant the opposition-controlled National Assembly.

 

The vote has been internationally condemned. The Trump administration, which slapped sanctions on President NicolΓ‘s Maduro on Monday, described it as a β€œsham election” that has turned Venezuela into a de facto dictatorship.

 

Responding to the company’s disclosure, Luis Almagro, secretary general of the Organization of American States, tweeted: β€œThe biggest electoral fraud in Latin America’s history in percentage and in millions of votes is confirmed.”

 

In a sense, there was no way the government could lose Sunday’s vote. All candidates, including the wife and son of Maduro, were backers of the Socialist administration. There was also no threshold of voter participation needed for the outcome to be valid.

 

But obtaining a high turnout was considered vital to proving public enthusiasm for the new Constituent Assembly that gives the government effective control over all branches of government. Polls show the new body – and Maduro himself – both deeply unpopular.

 

The government claimed a turnout of 41.5 percent – more than 8 million votes. That figure would be highly symbolic if true, as it is greater than an unofficial ballot held by the opposition last month in which it said that nearly 7.6 million Venezuelans turned out to reject plans for the new, all-powerful legislature.

 

Typically, Mugica said, the election system is designed to provide figures that are reviewed and confirmed by auditors. At each table at voting centers, there are witnesses from different parties who can compare their results with the ones published by the electoral council online.

 

By adding all of those together, it is generally possible to compare and confirm results, he said. Auditors from different parties are also present in counting rooms, where they can access totals reported by the automated system.

The opposition boycotted Sunday’s vote. On Tuesday, two top opposition leaders who were under house arrest were taken away by security forces to a military-run detention camp.

 

Also Tuesday, one of the five directors of the country’s election system broke with the body’s official position validating the vote, saying he could not β€œguarantee the veracity of the results.”

 

That director, Luis Emilio Rondon, tweeted Wednesday that Smartmatic’s announcement had confirmed his assessment of fraud.

 

β€œThe electoral commission has to respond to the country for the denouncements made today by Smartmatic about manipulation of turnout numbers,” Rondon tweeted. He added, β€œthe electoral body is obliged to conduct an audit process to clarify this situation as soon as possible.”

 

On Wednesday, the Reuters news agency reported that it had reviewed internal electoral council data showing that only 3.7 million people had voted by 5:30 p.m. Most polling stations closed at 7 p.m., but some stayed open later.

Well I got drunk with the neighbors tonight. Told them pretty much all my beliefs about Q and Covid and the uniparty and to my surprise the hot woman there kept pushing me to tell more and believed it all. Her man is a believer also.
