Regina, let me just start with the fact that– I guess explain to us how DARPA's investments over the last several years, going back even more than a decade or so, have helped accelerate the pace that we have seen for a COVID vaccine and have gotten us to this point that we've been able to get to so quickly.

 

REGINA DUGAN: Sure. Well, you should know that DARPA was formed after Sputnik in 1958 with the goal of preventing and creating strategic surprise. So big questions about risks and vulnerabilities and new capabilities that we might create were routine at DARPA.

LA County Public Health Officials “Strongly” Recommend Everybody, Regardless of Vaccination Status, Wear Face Mask Due to “Delta” Variant

Los Angeles County public health officials are now “strongly” recommending everybody – vaccinated and unvaccinated – wear a face mask indoors due to spread of the “Delta” variant.

 

“Public Health strongly recommends people wear masks indoors in settings such as grocery or retail stores; theaters and family entertainment centers, and workplaces when you don’t know everyone’s vaccination status,” L.A. County Department of Public Health said in a statement.

 

“Until we better understand how and to who the Delta variant is spreading, everyone should focus on maximum protection with minimum interruption to routine as all businesses operate without other restrictions, like physical distancing and capacity limits,” the statement added.

 

“While COVID-19 vaccine provides very effective protection preventing hospitalizations and deaths against the Delta variant, the strain is proving to be more transmissible and is expected to become more prevalent,” L.A. County Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer said in a statement. “Mask wearing remains an effective tool for reducing transmission, especially indoors where the virus may be easily spread through inhalation of aerosols emitted by an infected person.”

The Stasi FBI tracked down, staked out and arrested a 69-year-old woman and Los Angeles County employee on Monday morning for walking into the US Capitol 5 months ago.

 

Lois Lynn McNicoll was charged with “knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority and violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds.”

 

None of that is true. Lois McNicoll was neither “disorderly” nor “violent” during her walk around the US Capitol on January 6th with hundreds of other American patriots.

 

And as far as having the “lawful authority” to enter the US Capitol — The FBI slipped up and posted a photo of Lois walking through the door with a US Capitol police officer holding the door for her.

 

If she was so unwanted inside the US Capitol why were the police holding the doors for her and others?

And it doesn’t matter if this is inside or outside the Capitol Building.

Lois Lynn McNicoll, 69, of San Clemente, a Department of Public Social Services employee, made her initial appearance in Los Angeles federal court following her arrest and was released on a $10,000 bond, according to FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller.

 

McNicoll is charged in federal court in the District of Columbia with knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority and violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds, according to a federal criminal complaint made public Monday.

Former Intel Chief Calls For "Larger Discussion" On UFOs, Warns They Display Technology US Doesn't Have

 

Former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe said that Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon (UAP), also known as UFOs, appear to display technology that the United States does not have and could not defend against.

 

Ratcliffe made the remarks in an interview on Fox News that aired Saturday, one day after the public release of a much-anticipated government report on UAPs or UFOs (pdf), which found “no clear indications that there is any non-terrestrial explanation” for the aerial phenomena, although it left open the possibility of an alien origin.

 

“I’m actually glad that there’s a report out there,” Ratcliffe said in the interview, adding, “the bottom line is, unidentified aerial phenomena—many, many cases we’re able to explain it away for reasons like visual disturbances, or weather phenomenon, or foreign adversaries and their technologies, or even our own experimental technologies with certain aircraft and vehicles.”

 

At the same time, he said were are a number of cases where none such explanations applied.

 

“What this report really underscores … is that there are a number of instances—and the specific number remains classified—but a number of instances where we’ve ruled all of that out,” he said.

 

“And there are technologies that we don’t have and frankly that we are not capable of defending against—based on those things that we’ve seen, multiple sensors, in other words, where not just people visually see it but where it’s picked up on radar, where it’s seen on satellites,” Ratcliffe said, adding that, “it’s an issue of national security.”

‘Proud Transgender Woman of Color’ Wins Miss Nevada USA Pageant

 

Kataluna Enriquez, a biological male who identifies as a woman, has won the title of Miss Nevada USA.

 

For the first time in the pageant’s history, a biological woman is not taking home the crown for Miss Nevada USA.

 

Enriquez won the beauty pageant on Sunday at the South Point Hotel-Casino in Las Vegas, which means he will go on to represent Nevada as the first transgender individual ever to compete in the Miss USA Pageant — which will be held on November 29.

 

Enriquez beat 21 other contestants in the Miss Nevada USA pageant, according to a report by Associated Press.

 

In March, Enriquez was crowned Miss Silver State USA, which is described as the “biggest preliminary competition for the Miss Nevada USA pageant.”

 

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that Enriquez first took part in transgender pageants in 2016 while working as a model, and started competing in women’s pageants last year.

Former Overstock.com CEO and Trump ally Patrick Byrne is the main star of the film, which is based on a book Byrne wrote. Byrne is the founder of a Florida-based 501(c)(4) that is aiming to raise $2.8 million to fund the Arizona audit.

 

Former Secretary of State Ken Bennett, whom Senate President Karen Fann appointed as a liaison for the self-styled audit she ordered of the county’s election results, previously told Arizona Mirror that he didn’t know if any other members of the audit participated in the film other than himself.

 

Before the film started, the host of the event, known QAnon believer Ann Vandersteel, introduced Phoenix native Austin Steinbart. Steinbart is sometimes referred to in the QAnon community as “BabyQ” and many of his followers believe him to be Q himself.

 

Steinbart, who was introduced as the “Az Deep Rig Field Operative,” has told his followers that his future self is sending messages back in time so that present-day Steinbart can reveal the truth.

 

In April 2020, Steinbart was arrested for posting medical images and information online of NFL players that he was able to obtain while getting a brain scan. Last year, he got caught using a synthetic penis in an attempt to pass a drug test related to the April arrest.

 

Steinbart said that he would be creating “Quantum meetup groups” for people to speak about election fraud claims. The film has been promoted for people to host their own screenings of the film for $500.

Lawsuit: Silicon Valley Billionaire Recruited Election Officials to Accept Grants from Zuckerberg

 

A lawsuit filed by Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry in October 2020 alleged that an obscure nonprofit organization operated as part of a larger nonprofit founded and largely funded by Silicon Valley billionaire Pierre Omidyar attempted to recruit local election officials to apply for grants from the Mark Zuckerberg-funded Center for Technology and Civic Life (CTCL).

 

Landry filed the lawsuit on behalf of the State of Louisiana against CTCL, New Venture Fund DBA Center for Secure and Modern Elections, Dawn Maisel Cole, a private individual; and Full Circle Strategies LLC, “to prevent the injection of unregulated private money into the Louisiana election system.”

 

The lawsuit alleged:

 

The New Venture Fund, operating in Louisiana under the trade name Center for Secure and Modern Elections (CSME), partnered with CTCL to solicit applications and information from Louisiana officials in connection with proposed grants [from CTCL as part of the $350 million in grants made nationwide in the 2020 election].

CTCL and CSME worked their grant scheme in the State of Louisiana through a lobbyist by the name of Dawn Maisel Cole, owner and operator of Full Circle Strategies, LLC, as their Louisiana representative and agent to target registrars of voters, clerks of court, and local election officials.

The scheme targeted 13 parishes, some to receive contributions of more than $500,000, accompanied by a request for detailed information about the operations, conduct and expenses of the registrars/clerk’s office.

Ms. Cole directly solicited registrars and clerks of courts to accept contributions from CTCL and New Venture Fund for the operation of their respective offices.

 

These practices were prohibited, the lawsuit argued, because:

 

…private contributions to local election officials are unlawful and contrary to the methods for election funding established by law in the State of Louisiana, and such contributions by these defendants should be declared illegal and permanently enjoined.

 

The lawsuit was significant in part because it highlighted the role an obscure organization called the Center for Secure and Modern Elections, which describes itself as a “fiscally sponsored project of the New Venture Fund,” played in advancing the efforts of the Mark Zuckerberg-funded CTCL in privately funding the administration of the 2020 election.

 

The New Venture Fund, in turn, is part of Democracy Fund, whose website says it is “an independent and nonpartisan, private foundation that confronts deep-rooted challenges in American democracy while defending against new threats.”

Ukraine Pulls Out of Anti-China U.N. Statement After Report of Biden Freezing Aid

 

The government of Ukraine quietly withdrew support for a United Nations resolution demanding China allow an investigation into its concentration camps this weekend, promoting effusive applause from Chinese state media on Monday.

The resolution, which the government of Canada presented at the Human Rights Council, boasted the signatures of over 40 countries and condemned China for its increasingly repressive communist policies in Hong Kong and Tibet.

“Credible reports indicate that over a million people have been arbitrarily detained in Xinjiang,” the statement read in part, “and that there is widespread surveillance disproportionately targeting Uyghurs and members of other minorities and restrictions on fundamental freedoms and Uyghur culture.”

“There are also reports of torture or cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment or punishment, forced sterilization, sexual and gender-based violence, and forced separation of children from their parents by authorities,” it continued. “We urge China to allow immediate, meaningful and unfettered access to Xinjiang for independent observers, including the [U.N.] High Commissioner [on Human Rights].”

As the statement notes, satellite images suggest the Chinese Communist Party has built over 1,000 concentration camps in Xinjiang, its largest and westernmost region, to house millions of people belonging to Muslim ethnic minorities, particularly the Uyghur population. Camp survivors have testified that victims are subject to indoctrination, regular gang rape and other sexual torture; and medical testing that indicates the practice of live organ harvesting.

Ukraine is a member of China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), its global infrastructure debt-trap program for developing countries, and recently signed a deal with Beijing to import thousands of doses of the Communist Party’s low-efficacy coronavirus vaccines. The Associated Press (AP), citing anonymous sources, claimed the Party threatened to terminate the vaccine deal if Kyiv did not withdraw from the Xinjiang statement.

The AP report did not note the growing tensions in the past year between Ukraine and one of the most vocal supporters of an investigation into Xinjiang, the United States. So why are fully vaccinated Australians not afforded the same freedoms? And can we expect that to change?

How much protection do I get when I'm fully vaccinated?

 

Australia's COVID-19 vaccines are highly effective at protecting people against symptomatic and severe disease, and at reducing their risk of becoming infected.

 

But no vaccine is 100 per cent effective, said epidemiologist Meru Sheel of the Australian National University.

 

"They reduce your ability to get the infection … but these vaccines were never designed to stop 100 per cent of infection," Dr Sheel said.

 

The vaccines' effectiveness depends on how many doses someone has received, and what COVID-19 variant is circulating.

 

It is currently recommended that people have two shots of Pfizer three weeks apart, or two shots of AstraZeneca 12 weeks apart, for maximum effect.

 

Data suggests two shots of either the AstraZeneca or Pfizer vaccines reduce the risk of hospitalisation and death by more than 90 per cent against the original virus.

 

And two doses of Pfizer provide around 94 per cent protection against symptoms, while two doses of AstraZeneca provide 74 per cent protection.

 

But both vaccines are less effective against the highly transmissible Delta variant, Dr Sheel said.

 

While one dose of either vaccine only provides around 33 per cent protection against symptoms from Delta, two doses provide between 88 per cent (Pfizer) and 60 per cent (AstraZeneca) protection against symptoms.

COVID Patient in Coma Gets Ivermectin After Court Order

May 6, 2021 – A 68-year-old woman with COVID-19, who has been in intensive care in an Illinois hospital for a month, started receiving the controversial drug ivermectin (Stromectol) this week after her family sued the hospital to have someone administer it, according to a report in the Chicago Tribune.

 

Nurije Fype's daughter, Desareta, filed suit against Elmhurst Hospital, part of Edward-Elmhurst Health, asking that her mother receive the treatment, which is approved as an anti-parasite drug but not approved for the treatment of COVID-19. Desareta Fype has been granted temporary guardianship of her mother.

 

The FDA has warned against ivermectin's use for treating COVID-19, but a high-profile group of doctors has spoken passionately in favor of it.

 

The FDA has published guidance titled ,"Why You Should Not Use Ivermectin to Treat or Prevent COVID-19" on its website. The National Institutes of Health said there is not enough data to recommend either for or against its use in treating COVID-19.

 

On Friday, DuPage County Judge James Orel ruled Fype should be allowed to get the treatment.

 

Three days later, according to the Daily Herald, the lawyer for the hospital, Joseph Monahan, argued the hospital could not find a hospital-affiliated doctor to administer the ivermectin.

 

The Herald reported the judge told the hospital to "get out of the way" and allow any board-certified doctor to administer the drug.

 

When Fype's doctor was unable to administer it, the legal team found another doctor, Alan Bain, DO, to do it. Monahan said Bain was granted credentials to work at the hospital so he could administer it Monday evening.

 

In a follow-up hearing on Tuesday, Monahan told Orel that the hospital asked 20 doctors and 19 other health care workers, including nurses and pharmacists, to administer the medication and they all declined, the Herald reported.

 

Orel denied a request from Desareta Fype's lawyer to order the hospital's nurses to administer further doses. The judge also denied a request to hold the hospital in contempt of court.

 

According to the Herald, the judge said at the hearing Tuesday, "Now let's hope the good Lord allows the medication to work."

 

The hospital did not respond to Medscape's request for comment on the legal case or the patient's condition by publication time.

 

According to NBC5 Chicago, Desareta said Tuesday, "She looks calm, comfortable, and I'm happy with her monitor numbers so far. They are kind of stable."

 

Fype's daughter said her mother has been a patient at Elmhurst Hospital since April 7, was put on a ventilator on April 28, and is now in a coma.

 

According to the Daily Herald, Desareta Fype said in court documents that she is willing to release the hospital from liability if the drug harms her mother.

 

The Daily Herald also reports that Fype's attorneys cited arguments by the Front Line COVID Critical Care Alliance that ivermectin has antiviral and anti-inflammatory benefits that help people infected with COVID-19.

 

Ivermectin is an anthelmintic used mainly to treat roundworms, threadworms, and other parasites.

Maricopa County Announces They Will No Longer Use the 2020 Voting Machines – GOP Senator Wendy Rogers Chimes In: “Ban ALL fraud machines!”

 

Maricopa County officials announced on Monday they will not use fraudulent voting equipment again. “The County will never use equipment that could pose a risk to free and fair elections.”

 

On Monday, woke local Arizona journalist Jen Fifield shared some good news for a change.

 

Maricopa County will no longer use “compromised” voting machines. This announcement comes after Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobb’s May 20, 2021 letter, to the County, blaming the Arizona Senate for compromising the machines.

 

If we want free and fair elections, we should just go back to paper ballots.

 

Unlike machines, paper cannot be compromised without one’s knowledge.

 

We know the machines were compromised long before the Senate took hold of them. If fraud occurred in November, voting machines do need to be replaced.

 

If the machines were so secure, cyber ninjas would not be able to compromise the machines, and Dominion, with total access, could correct any issues.

 

The Arizona Senate still has not received Dominion routers or passwords.

 

Arizona State Senator Wendy Rogers wants ALL fraudulent voting machines replaced.

 

Fifield: Breaking: Maricopa County announces it will not use any of the voting equipment that has been in the hands of Cyber Ninjas again. County was required under subpoenas to give most of the $6 million in equipment it leases from Dominion to the Senate for the audit.

It appears that Katie Hobbs and the county are trying to destroy the evidence before the final report comes out likely in August.

This was not the most secure election in American History and they know it.

Since I could not find any updates I tweeted, John Keilman, a Chicago Tribune columnist that covered the story to see if he heard anything.

 

He responded to me and said he didn’t have an update because it’s out of the court system and there was no public information. I would show you his reply but it seems he deleted his reply. He must have checked out my Twitter account or my blog and determined I’m a nut case pushing anti-vax sentiments. I’m not anti-vaccine I’m just anti-experimental vaccine for a virus where over 99.9% of people survive.

 

Not expecting a reply from the reporter I tweeted the daughter of the woman in the hospital. I asked her directly if there was an update on her mom and she was kind enough to reply

 

I was happy to hear that their efforts resulted in their mom beginning to recover. The news should be following up on this to let people know. But, I guess they’re not interested in good news. God forbid another treatment other than a vaccine works against COVID-19. I sent Ms. Fype’s reply to Mr. Keilman to let him know there was an update. I’d show you my tweet to him and his reply but it all disappeared when he deleted his original reply.

 

Why would a reporter delete tweets that were absolutely benign? This is why there is mistrust in the media. The media ignored the story after the controversy was over. It took me, some dude with a blog, to reach out to the family to ask how things were going. I think the Chicago Tribune can afford some space for a blurb about this story with an update.

Swiss regulator: Rothschild Bank AG broke anti-moneylaundering rules in 1MDB case

ZURICH (Reuters) - Rothschild Bank AG and one of its subsidiaries committed serious violations of anti-moneylaundering rules in relation to 1MDB, the Malaysian sovereign wealth fund, Switzerland's financial regulator said on Friday.

 

The regulator, FINMA, said in a statement it was nonetheless closing its probe into Rothschild. It will review the steps the institution has taken to tighten up its procedures.

Rothschild Bank AG said it noted the regulator's comments and regretted the breaches that occurred.

 

"We constantly strengthen our systems and procedures and are determined to continue to do so to identify and combat the increasingly sophisticated financial crime faced by the industry," the bank said in a statement.

 

The investigation is the seventh and last undertaken by FINMA into 1MDB. Malaysia's former Prime Minister Najib Razak, has been charged with abuse of power and breach of trust in a graft probe into the fund, which he set up. He has pleaded not guilty and denied wrongdoing.

Rothschild Bank AG is part of Paris-listed Rothschild & Co (ROTH.PA).

Pittsburgh man dies after 2nd Moderna dose, doctors say, in first known blood clotting case linked to the vaccine

 

Doctors in Pennsylvania have reported the first known case of severe blood clotting believed to be linked to Moderna’s coronavirus vaccine, after an elderly man contracted the condition and died within days of his second dose.

 

Healthcare professionals at the Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh reported the case on Monday, noting that a 65-year-old man arrived at the hospital with a serious form of blood clotting known as thrombosis with thrombocytopenia (TTS) just 10 days after his second and final dose of the Moderna shot. Two days later, the unnamed patient, who also suffered from chronic hypertension and high cholesterol levels, died, with doctors concluding his symptoms were consistent with vaccine-induced clotting, also known as VITT.

 

“The distribution of thrombosis, especially the cerebral venous sinus thrombosis, was characteristic of VITT or TTS,” the doctors wrote in a journal article published at the Annals of Internal Medicine.

 

They said their findings “fulfill the interim case definition of VITT or TTS” set out by the CDC and that further blood tests “[strengthened] the likelihood” of a vaccine-linked condition. However, while they called their evidence for VITT “robust,” the doctors cautioned that they could not rule out other causes for the clotting.

 

The report in Pittsburgh would be the first known case of blood clotting linked to a vaccine based on messenger RNA, or genetic material located in the cell, which includes those developed by Moderna and Pfizer. While a number of recipients of the AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson shots have developed clotting, including some fatal cases, those vaccines use different technology and are instead based on a deactivated adenovirus.

 

The doctors at Allegheny Health said their research “complicates” theories that prior clotting cases were specifically caused by adenovirus-based vaccines, as some experts have previously speculated.

 

While adverse reactions have remained uncommon among the millions of vaccine recipients in the US, clotting is not the only vaccine-related condition to crop up. Last week, the CDC reported more than 1,200 cases of a rare disorder known as myocarditis, or inflammation of the heart, in those who took the Pfizer and Moderna shots, which comes out to about 12.6 per million doses. The health body found a “likely association” between the vaccines and the condition, though noted it is “still a rare event.”

 

Ongoing clotting complications with the AstraZeneca and J&J inoculations have also prompted some countries to put the shots on hold, with Denmark opting to continue its suspension last Friday. Though the AstraZeneca formulation has yet to be approved in the US, American health officials previously paused the J&J shot over safety concerns, but resumed its rollout in April.

 

While the doctors in Pittsburgh may have discovered the first clotting case linked to an mRNA vaccine, they noted that “many millions” had received such immunizations without serious side effects, adding that their report “should not prevent persons from receiving the benefits of these vaccines.”

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell lambasted Democrats’ congressional leaders Monday for holding a bipartisan infrastructure plan “hostage” until a big-spending social bill passes along party lines, as President Biden prepared to promote his rickety deal in the Midwest.

 

Mr. McConnell, Kentucky Republican, rebuked Senate Majority Leader Charles E. Schumer, New York Democrat, and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, California Democrat, for linking the infrastructure deal to other costly Democratic priorities.

 

Mr. Biden did the same last week but backed down from a veto threat over the weekend after objections from Republican senators who had agreed to the infrastructure deal.

 

The threats by Democratic leaders amount to extortion and a breach of the “bipartisan good faith” that Republican lawmakers have experienced so far, Mr. McConnell said in a statement.

 

“Unless Leader Schumer and Speaker Pelosi walk back their threats that they will refuse to send the president a bipartisan infrastructure bill unless they also separately pass trillions of dollars for unrelated tax hikes, wasteful spending, and Green New Deal socialism, then President Biden‘s walk-back of his veto threat would be a hollow gesture,” Mr. McConnell said. “The president cannot let congressional Democrats hold a bipartisan bill hostage over a separate and partisan process.”

 

The Senate Republican leader gave his warning before Mr. Biden took his first trip to sell the tentative $1.2 trillion deal to voters. The president is scheduled to travel to Lacrosse, Wisconsin, on Tuesday to promote the package.

 

Mr. Biden hopes to get the deal back on track by promoting its expected economic benefits. He called it the largest investment in transportation in nearly a century and predicted it would create 1 million jobs.

 

An internal White House document obtained by The Associated Press said the spending plan is four times the size of the Obama administration’s stimulus deal approved in response to the Great Recession and the biggest infrastructure package since Franklin D. Roosevelt’s New Deal. ..

Amazon warehouse construction nearing an end

 

Town of Clay — The $350 million Amazon warehouse on Morgan Road is almost complete, and packages could be shipped to you from the warehouse in just a few months.

 

That’s according to Town of Clay Supervisor Damian Ulatowski. He spoke to a developer working on the nearly 4 million square foot building and tells us that the launch date is set for August 27th.

 

“We’d all like to see a rebirth of Central New York and this kind of project could be the catalyst for that,” said Ulatowski.

 

On Thursday, July 1st trucks will start making their way to the facility, and a set of new three-color traffic lights will be put into use. Ulatowski says he does not expect there to be unmanageable traffic in the area. He says he looks forward to the online retail giant’s presence in the area

 

“Something of this magnitude really puts us on the world stage,” said Ulatowski.

 

“With Amazon being one of the largest employers, retailers, whatever you want to call them, in the world and all of sudden we find them right in our backyard. It’s an exciting time.”

 

For local businesses in the area, it could mean more customers. Ulatowski says he’d like to see the local economy grow.

 

“It can do a lot more for the town of clay by bringing in spin off businesses,” said Ulatowski.

 

Employees at the warehouse will work alongside robotic technology to pick, pack, and shop customer orders. An Amazon spokesperson says hiring will take place late this summer.

 

The site, which has 62 loading docks, is expected to generate millions of dollars in tax revenue for local municipalities.

Former President Donald Trump is not happy with former Attorney General William P. Barr for slapping down his allegations of voter fraud and rigged voting machines as “all bull——.”

 

Responding to a book excerpt from author and journalist Jonathan Karl published Sunday in The Atlantic, Mr. Trump lashed out at Mr. Barr, describing him as a “RINO,” or Republican in name only, and accusing him of helping to “facilitate the cover up of the Crime of the Century, the Rigged 2020 Presidential Election!”

 

“It’s people in authority like Bill Barr that allow the crazed Radical Left to succeed,” Mr. Trump said in a statement. “He and other RINOs in the Republican Party are being used in order to try to convince people that the election was legitimate when so many incredible facts have now come out to show conclusively that it wasn’t.”

 

Mr. Barr was the most high-profile administrative official to shoot down the rigged and stolen election claims that Mr. Trump and his allies turned to after President Biden was declared the winner in the 2020 election.

 

“To date, we have not seen fraud on a scale that could have effected a different outcome in the election,” Mr. Barr told The Associated Press on Dec. 1.

 

Mr. Barr told Mr. Karl the comments infuriated Mr. Trump, whom he met with shortly at the White House after the news broke of his comments.

 

“Did you say that?” Mr. Trump asked.

 

“Yes,” Mr. Barr replied.

 

“How the f—- could you do this to me? Why did you say it?” Mr. Trump asked.

 

“Because it’s true,” Mr. Barr said.

 

Mr. Trump responded: “You must hate Trump. You must hate Trump.”

 

Mr. Barr said the Trump-led effort to overturn the election results in several battleground states was a “clown show.”

 

“My attitude was: It was put up or shut-up time,” Mr. Barr told Mr. Karl. “If there was evidence of fraud, I had no motive to suppress it. But my suspicion all the way along was that there was nothing there. It was all bull——.”

 

Mr. Barr had allowed prosecutors to look into “substantial allegations” of vote irregularities that “could potentially impact the outcome” of the contest.

 

Mr. Barr told The Atlantic that Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell had urged him to debunk the claims, which he feared were hurting the party’s chances of defending Senate seats in Georgia and the country.

 

“Now it was revealed that Barr was being pushed to tell lies about the election by Mitch McConnell, another beauty, who was worried about damaging the Republicans chances in the Georgia runoff,” Mr. Trump said. “What really damaged the Senate Republicans was allowing their races to be rigged and stolen, and worse, the American people to no longer believe their vote matters because spineless RINOs like Bill Barr and Mitch McConnell did nothing.”
