Ukrainian President Asks Foreigners to Come Fight, Says He Will Provide Weapons

 

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has asked for foreigners to come help fight off Russia, promising to give them weapons and glory.

 

Zelensky also maintained that Kyiv and other key places remain under his control.

 

“We successfully fought off enemy attacks. We are defending our country, our land, future of our children,” Zelensky said. “Kyiv and key places near the capital are under our control. The occupiers wanted to capture our capital and install their puppets like Donetsk. We broke their idea.”

 

“Anyone who wants to come over here and defend our country, please come, and we will give you arms,” he continued. “Anybody defends will have been glorified.”

 

Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov has said that the government has supplied 18,000 submachine guns and ammunition to civilians and militia fighters since the start of the invasion.

 

“We will give weapons to anyone who wants to defend our country,” Zelensky said in an English-language announcement on Twitter. “Be ready to support Ukraine in the squares of our cities.”

Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo says that he is rooting for the Biden administration and would be “happy” to speak with them “any time” if they chose to contact him.

 

Pompeo shared his views during an interview with Fox News at CPAC on Friday.

 

“I am rooting for the Biden administration to be successful — in spite of my critique and my enormous concerns about the policies that they’ve chosen,” Pompeo told the network. “I want them to be successful.”

 

Pompeo went on to say that if someone from the administration called him for his views.

Buffett Praises Apple As One Of Berkshire's "Four Giants" In Latest Annual Letter

 

The "Oracle of Omaha" Warren Buffett published his 57th annual letter to Berkshire Hathaway shareholders on Saturday, and in it he proclaimed that Apple - which Berkshire finally bought in 2016, overcoming its decades-long aversion to consumer tech - had become one of "our four giants" responsible for the firm's continuing prosperity.

 

The firm recorded more than $90 billion in net earnings during 2021, with nearly $40 billion of those coming during Q4 alone.

 

Buffett used the "giants" theme to great effect in his latest letter. And while he praised Apple at No. 2, much of Berkshire's success is due to the company's No. 1 "giant", its "cluster of insurance operations", which includes GEICO, MedPro, National Indemnity, etc., and generates a massive cash "float" that is now worth more than $147 billion.

 

Nevertheless, operations of our “Big Four” companies account for a very large chunk of Berkshire’s value. Leading this list is our cluster of insurers. Berkshire effectively owns 100% of this group, whose massive float value we earlier described. The invested assets of these insurers are further enlarged by the extraordinary amount of capital we invest to back up their promises.

 

The insurance business is made to order for Berkshire. The product will never be obsolete, and sales volume will generally increase along with both economic growth and inflation. Also, integrity and capital will forever be important. Our company can and will behave well.

 

There are, of course, other insurers with excellent business models and prospects. Replication of Berkshire’s operation, however, would be almost impossible.

 

That massive float was generated by Berkshire's $8.7 million purchases of National Indemnity back in 1967, followed by 55 years of profits. As Buffett explains, the float has cost the company "less than nothing" (although technically the money doesn't "belong" to Berkshire, they can invest it).

 

From an $8.6 million purchase of National Indemnity in 1967, Berkshire has become the world leader in insurance “float” – money we hold and can invest but that does not belong to us. Including a relatively small sum derived from life insurance, Berkshire’s total float has grown from $19 million when we entered the insurance business to $147 billion.

 

So far, this float has cost us less than nothing. Though we have experienced a number of years when insurance losses combined with operating expenses exceeded premiums, overall we have earned a modest 55-year profit from the underwriting activities that generated our float.

 

Of equal importance, float is very sticky. Funds attributable to our insurance operations come and go daily, but their aggregate total is immune from precipitous decline. When it comes to investing float, we can therefore think long-term.

Cop Accused of Killing Baby Walks Free From Jail as Judge Excludes Damning Evidence from Case

 

Ewing Township, NJ — In 2018, officer Daniel Bannister was arrested for murdering a three-month-old baby girl — his own daughter. While this is horrifying enough, TFTP learned a year later that after this cop allegedly murdered his own daughter, he used her death to start a GoFundMe page and raised $17,618.

 

Since then, he has been in jail awaiting trial, but his blue privilege continues to shine through as he has just been released this month after a judge decided to exclude key evidence in the case.

 

At the time, Bannister was arrested and charged with murdering three-month-old Hailey Rose. His wife, Catherine Bannister was also arrested and charged with second-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

 

According to prosecutors, Hailey was killed in December 2018 after suffering traumatic injuries, inflicted by Bannister. Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo Onofri said in a statement that this was an “ongoing pattern of abuse.”

 

An investigation was launched in December 2018 after an autopsy revealed Hailey’s cause of death was due to blunt impact trauma to her head, including multiple skull fractures and a subdural hemorrhage.

 

“The nature of Hailey’s injuries indicated an ongoing pattern of abuse,” Onofri said in the statement.

 

Eventually, Hailey’s death would be ruled a homicide and detectives from Mercer County would launch an investigation into the suspicious nature of her injuries.

 

Shortly after his daughter’s death in December, Bannister was suspended with pay. During this time, the family setup a GoFundMe that said Hailey had suffered a “catastrophic brain injury.” The campaign raised $17,618 for funeral expenses and medical bills.

 

Shameful indeed, but not nearly as shameful as what’s happening now. As NJ.com reports:

 

Early in the investigation, detectives confiscated the couple’s cell phones and applied for a warrant to examine the calls and texts, court documents show. The information was key to charging the couple in July 2019, as they allegedly revealed “extensive” communications about Daniel allegedly abusing the girl.

 

This past September, though, Mercer County Judge Darlene Pereksta suppressed the cell phone evidence, ruling that the detectives did not have probable cause of criminality to access the phones, Daniel’s attorney Jeffrey G. Garrigan said.

Biden Approves $350 Million in Military Assistance for Ukraine

 

U.S. President Joe Biden has approved $350 million for military aid to Ukraine as Ukrainian forces battle against a Russian invasion.

 

Biden instructed U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken to release the aid to Ukraine.

 

Biden in a memorandum published late Feb. 25 cited the Foreign Assistance Act in telling Blinken to drawdown weapons and related assistance.

 

Blinken said Saturday that he was acting on the instructions.

 

“Today, as Ukraine fights with courage and pride against Russia’s brutal and unprovoked assault, I have authorized, pursuant to a delegation by the president, an unprecedented third presidential drawdown of up to $350 million for immediate support to Ukraine’s defense,” Blinken said in a statement.

 

The new chunk brings the total security assistance the United States has committed in the past year to Ukraine to over $1 billion.

 

The fresh package will include “lethal defensive assistance,” Blinken said, which will help Ukrainian forces deal with the Russian invasion.

 

“It is another clear signal that the United States stands with the people of Ukraine as they defend their sovereign, courageous, and proud nation,” he added.

 

The United States and other countries have refused to send troops to help Ukraine battle against an estimated 100,000 Russian forces that have entered the neighboring country.

Authorities Seize Nearly $3 Million Worth of Meth in Onion Shipment

 

SAN DIEGO—Authorities seized nearly $3 million worth of methamphetamine, hidden among a shipment of onions, during a tractor-trailer’s inspection at federal facility in San Diego, officials announced Friday.

 

A K-9 unit for the U.S. Customs and Border Protection alerted to the trailer’s shipment of onions on Sunday and officers found nearly 1,200 small packages of meth, the agency said Friday in a news release.

 

The 46-year-old driver, a Mexican national who was not named, was arrested for the alleged narcotic smuggling attempt at the Otay Mesa port-of-entry commercial vehicle facility, officials said.

 

The packages of meth—more than 1,336 pounds (606 kilograms)—were shaped into small globes with a white covering, the agency said, and meant to blend into the onions. The drugs are estimated to be worth $2.9 million on the street.

 

“This was not only a clever attempt to try and smuggle in narcotics, one I haven’t seen before, but also time consuming to wrap narcotics into these small packages, designed to look like onions,” said Sidney Aki, CBP Director of Field Operations in San Diego, in the news release. “While we have certainly seen narcotics in produce before, it’s unusual for us to see this level of detail in the concealment.”

It’s political party time with world leaders for George Soros’ son

 

Alexander Soros, the heir apparent to left wing billionaire George Soros’ political and philanthropic mission, has traded selfies with beauties and bros for handshakes and hugs with world leaders.

 

The 36-year-old son of the Democratic mega-donor just attended the Munich Security Conference in Germany, where he joined heads of state occupied with the looming threat of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

 

Soros, who in younger days was snapped partying in the Hamptons — where he had been described as “making out with the babes” at East End hotspots — now fills his social media feed with photos of political heavy hitters. He welcomed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to a dinner put on by his dad’s Open Society Foundations in Munich; posed with and praised Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff of California, and posted snaps to his Instagram shaking hands with the prime minister of Kosovo and president of Rwanda.

 

Older posts show the bespectacled scion with President Obama, Vice President Kamala Harris, Squad Member Ilhan Omar, former Mayor Bill de Blasio and, in numerous photos with Sen. Chuck Schumer, whom he calls a “good friend.”

 

Some observers have a hard time seeing beyond Soros’ party boy image. He was spotted in July imbibing $345 bottles of Herradura Extra Añejo tequila along with gal pals at Tiny’s Catina in Prospect Heights. He reportedly left a $700 tip.

 

And in 2016, the 22,000-square-foot Hamptons rental house where he hosted pals, models and NBA players was dubbed “Camp Soros.”

 

A Republican Party official dismissed Soros as “just another rich brat trying to make a name for himself with a fortune he didn’t earn.

 

“Maybe he’ll stop shipping industrial quantities of cash to support Democrats, far-left organizations, and the craziest ideologies in existence, but I doubt it,” the official said.

 

But Patrick Gaspard, the former president of the Open Society Foundations, insisted the younger Soros was committed to his dad’s mission.

 

“I think that Alex is really invested in domestic politics in America and trying to figure out how we get past violent polarization, how we get past disinformation and he is somebody who has also cared deeply about protecting the rights of the most marginalized Americans,” Gaspard said.

 

Soros is deputy chairman of the non-profit Open Society behemoth that doled out more than $1 billion in 2020 on left wing causes including justice reform and economic equity.

 

Soros reportedly made clear in a September call with foundation staff that his dad, who is 91, was still in charge.

 

“I work for him, he’s my boss,” the New York Times quoted him as saying.

 

A foundation spokesman did not return a request for comment about Soros’ future role at the organization.

 

“He clearly has the intelligence and the resources to have a distinct impact and to steer his father’s foundation and investments in public affairs and in the political discussion where he sees fit.” said Jon Reinish, a Democratic strategist.

 

He started his own foundation, the Alexander Soros Foundation, in 2011 contributing $1.7 million to it the following year. It gave out just $166,000 in 2019 for environmental causes, according to its tax filing for that year, the latest publicly available.

I have watched this story get re-hashed every other year since I first noticed it back in like 2010 - I also noticed that when I went back into regular Army units that the PL I had to work with was the ONLY PL my Battalion had that wasn't WestPoint and/or Club of Roam. That PL has since committed suicide. I assume he realized what was going on and that he had played a part (unknowingly) in it… Lieutenants were placing guys in positions that were fucking outright retarded and then, mysteriously with perfect timing and cover, some kid comes by and frags or shoots the unsuspecting soldier. Peter Schweizer: Russian Oligarchs Holding Assets for Putin ‘Probably Have Very Embarrassing Material on Hunter Biden’

 

Peter Schweizer, author of Red-Handed: How American Elites Get Rich Helping China Win, speculated that Russian oligarchs may have “embarrassing material” on Hunter Biden.

 

“The problem is that we know that Hunter Biden has received millions of dollars from Russian oligarchs, some of whom are connected to Vladimir Putin,” Schweizer said on the Charlie Kirk Show with special guest host Alex Marlow. “The most effective way you can hamstring Putin would be to put sanctions on Russian oligarchs, those that have massive holdings in the West.”

 

He continued, “Everybody who observes and follows Russia knows those oligarchs are holding money for Vladimir Putin. You need to seize the assets of those pro-Kremlin oligarchs that are operating out of London, the United States, Israel, Western Europe.”

 

President Joe Biden is unlikely to use punitive measures against Russian oligarchs’ assets as his son is compromised by such figures, Schweizer assessed.

 

“The problem is, I don’t think we’re going to slap sanctions on those people, because some of those people have done business deals with Hunter Biden, and they no doubt probably have very embarrassing material on Joe Biden’s one and only living son,” he stated.

 

Schweizer also remarked on globalization’s impacts on Europe, given much of the continent’s dependence on Russian energy exports, in contrast to how the phenomenon was marketed to the public by architects of and advocates for globalist institutions.

 

He remarked, “The whole premise behind globalism was: If we are engaging in trade and commerce, these sorts of semi-rogue or rogue countries like Russia or China will become more wedded towards us, they’ll become less aggressive. Actually, the opposite has happened.”

 

Greater integration of Western states with authoritarian governments has contributed to growing authoritarianism in the West as opposed to liberalization of states like China and Russia, Schweizer held.

 

“Globalism has failed,” Schweizer emphasized:

 

Look at the situation in Europe right now. So the idea is, ‘We’re going to wed Russia to Europe by setting up these gas pipelines and creating this lucrative European market for Russia.’ The theory is [that] this is going to mean Russia’s not going to want to invade, because they don’t want to lose the market.

 

The opposite has happened — Europe does not want to give up Russian gas. It has not deterred Russia. It has deterred the weak European democracies from taking strong action when they need to. So you know, they send a couple of helmets to Ukraine rather than military equipment, because they don’t want to have the gas shut off, or now they say, ‘We’re going to delay the Nord Stream pipeline,’ which, by the way, isn’t supposed to be certified til this summer anyway.

 

So all that this globalism has done is given these autocrats, these authoritarians, leverage over these weak, vassal democracies in the West that are fearful of doing anything offending these powers. Globalism has not only failed. It’s ended up doing the opposite of what it was supposed to do.

 

Schweizer has previously warned of and documented globalization’s facilitation of international corruption via foreign governments’ procurement of influence over U.S. affairs through establishing financial relationships with the children and family members of American politicians and other elites.

Interference by the United States and its NATO allies in Ukraine’s civil struggle has exacerbated the crisis within Ukraine, undermined the possibility of bringing the two easternmost provinces back under Kyiv’s control, and raised the specter of possible conflict between nuclear-armed powers. Furthermore, in denying that Russia has a “right” to oppose extension of a hostile military alliance to its national borders, the United States ignores its own history of declaring and enforcing for two centuries a sphere of influence in the Western hemisphere.

 

The fact is, Ukraine is a state but not yet a nation. In the thirty years of its independence, it has not yet found a leader who can unite its citizens in a shared concept of Ukrainian identity. Yes, Russia has interfered, but it is not Russian interference that created Ukrainian disunity but rather the haphazard way the country was assembled from parts that were not always mutually compatible.

 

The territory of the Ukrainian state claimed by the government in Kyiv was assembled, not by Ukrainians themselves but by outsiders, and took its present form following the end of World War II. To think of it as a traditional or primordial whole is absurd. This applies a fortiori to the two most recent additions to Ukraine—that of some eastern portions of interwar Poland and Czechoslovakia, annexed by Stalin at the end of the war, and the largely Russian-speaking Crimea, which was transferred from the Russian Socialist Federated Soviet Republic (RSFSR) well after the war, when Nikita Khrushchev controlled the Communist Party of the Soviet Union.

 

Since all constituent parts of the USSR were ruled from Moscow, it seemed at the time a paper transfer of no practical significance. (Even then, the city of Sevastopol, the headquarters of the Black Sea Fleet, was subordinated directly to Moscow, not Kyiv.) Up to then, the Crimea had been considered an integral part of Russia since Catherine II “the Great” conquered it in the 18th century.

German spy chief evacuated from Ukraine – reports

 

Special forces reportedly brought the head of Germany’s Federal Intelligence Service to Poland

 

Spymaster Bruno Kahl, the president of Germany’s Federal Intelligence Service (BND), has been taken from Ukraine to Poland by special agents, the German news magazine Focus reported on Friday. Kahl had supposedly been in Kiev to meet with Ukrainian colleagues when Russian forces moved on the city.

 

Kahl reportedly arrived in Kiev several days before Russia launched a military attack in Ukraine. When German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock called on her citizens to leave the country on Thursday, diplomats and intelligence operatives were evacuated by a special detachment of German police, Focus reported.

 

As Russia swiftly gained control of Ukrainian airspace and Russian units closed in on Kiev, Kahl was unable to reach this evacuation unit on time, the magazine continued. Instead, agents of the BND were sent in to take the spy chief to Poland on Friday.

 

Der Spiegel confirmed Focus’ reporting, saying that Kahl was brought to Poland in a convoy of vehicles, at the same time as droves of Ukrainian civilians made for the country’s EU borders.

Former President George W. Bush condemned the Russian invasion of Ukraine as a historic disaster and called for Americans to stand united in the face of strongman Vladimir Putin’s aggression.

 

“Russia’s attack on Ukraine constitutes the gravest security crisis on the European continent since World War II,” Bush said in a statement on Thursday issued from his home in Dallas.

 

Bush said he backs the international effort to push back against Russia’s “unprovoked and unjustified invasion of Ukraine.”

 

He also called for all Americans to stand firm as the West defended Ukraine.

 

“The American government and people must stand united with the Ukrainian government and the Ukrainian people as they seek their freedom and right to choose their own future,” Bush said.

 

Bush took dead aim at Putin, calling him a bully who must be stopped.

 

“We cannot tolerate the authoritarian bullying and danger that Putin poses,” Bush said.

 

The statement amounted to an effort to unite as broad a swath of the American political world behind the effort to confront Russia.

 

Establishment Republican leaders have responded to the crisis with President Biden’s efforts to back Ukraine and confront Russia.

 

But former President Donald Trump, the party’s de facto leader, has praised Putin as a “genius” and repeated his euphemistic description of the Russian invading force as “peacekeepers.”

The Clinton surrogate group Media Matters claimed predictably there was “no evidence” that Ms. Abedin or her family had ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, and that Trump campaign staffers who spoke of these ties were conspiracy theorists.

 

To debunk the evidence, Media Matters pointed to a Snopes.com “fact-check” piece that cited as its sole source… Senator John McCain. This is the same John McCain who met Libyan militia leader Abdelkarim Belhaj, a known al Qaeda associate, and saluted him as “my hero” during a 2011 visit to Benghazi.

Biden SCOTUS nominee went beyond call of duty to defend terror suspects

 

Ketanji Brown Jackson's defense of Gitmo detainees and criticism of U.S. government likely to be spotlighted in confirmation process.

President Biden's nominee for the Supreme Court represented suspected terrorists when she was a federal public defender, going well beyond a bare-bones defense to lambaste the U.S. government for some if its counterterrorism policies and broader approach to the War on Terror.

 

Biden on Friday nominated Ketanji Brown Jackson, currently a federal judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, to replace retiring Justice Stephen Breyer on the Supreme Court.

 

Jackson's record will no doubt be heavily scrutinized in the coming days as the Senate prepares for its confirmation hearings. Perhaps no aspect of her past legal work will come under more scrutiny than her advocacy on behalf of prisoners detained at the Guantanamo Bay military prison as enemy combatants for their alleged role in terrorist activities.

 

During her time in the federal public defender's office, Jackson represented Guantanamo detainees who challenged their imprisonment in a federal court in Washington, D.C.

 

One of the most prominent cases involved Jackson representing Khiali-Gul, who the Defense Department said was a Taliban intelligence officer in charge of a terrorist cell planning to attack a U.S. base in Afghanistan in 2002. He may have also met with Osama bin Laden in November 2001, according to government documents.

 

The Defense Department assessed that if released Gul would immediately "seek out prior associates and reengage in hostilities and extremist support activities."

 

Gul said he was innocent, claiming he had a job in the Afghan government and helped Americans.

 

During Jackson's confirmation hearings for her current position last year and to be a judge on the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia in 2012, Republican senators grilled the nominee on her work for Guantanamo Bay detainees. Jackson, whose brother served in Iraq, responded she was just doing her job and public duty.

 

"In all of those situations, the views that were expressed were the views of my clients that I represented them in that capacity, and the briefs did not necessarily represent my personal views with regard to the War on Terror or anything else," she said in 2012.

Russian Military Operation Prevented Launch Of U.S. Bio-Laboratories In Ukraine. Kiev Hiding Evidence

 

The Russian military special operation in Ukraine coincided with the planned launch of U.S. military biolaboratories in Kiev and Odessa. On February 26, the US Embassy in Ukraine rushed to delete all documents about 11 Pentagon-funded bio-laboratories in Ukraine from its website. All these documents (now deleted by the Embassy), you can read HERE.

 

In October 2021, the U.S. Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) of the U.S. Department of Defense published on the U.S. government procurement website an additional agreement on “combating highly dangerous pathogens. The document concerns the final stage of work on the launch of two bio-laboratories in Ukraine: in Kiev and Odessa. The additional agreement covers the equipping and training of personnel and commissioning of the facilities. The cost of the work is 3.6 million dollars, but some figures in the document are hidden for reasons of secrecy. According to the document, the laboratories were more than 90 per cent ready. However, the projects’ completion was delayed up to seven months from the date of signing the document (July 2021), thus to the end of February 2022:

 

The laboratories in Ukraine were built within the U.S. Cooperative Threat Reduction Program, which was launched in 1991 and was aimed against Russia and the former Soviet Union. They were funded in frame of the Biological Threat Reduction Program. Cooperation between Ukraine and the United States in this field intensified after the first Maidan revolution in Ukraine in 2005.

Two new laboratories are being created on the basis of the Kiev State Research Institute for Laboratory Diagnostics and Veterinary and Sanitary Expertise and the Odessa division of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection. The main part of the Ukrainian collection of endemic strains of dangerous disease agents is stored in Odessa. The buildings of the new biolaboratories in Kiev and Odessa were built back in 2019, but were not put into operation.

 

The document above notice makes it clear that this project is important and urgent for the U.S. government: further potential delays are called unacceptable, and “DTRA requires the urgent completion and surrender of both laboratories to ensure the active and safe execution of the DTRA mission.”

 

Both facilities are owned and secured by the Government of Ukraine, but neither facility is currently performing active biological work because DTRA has asked the Ukrainian authorities not to begin work until acceptance and completion is complete, the procurement materials said.

 

Moscow has claimed its concern over the developing biological weapons near Russia’s borders. Russian President Vladimir Putin worried about the “purposeful and professional” collection of biomaterials of Russians by foreigners.

On February 26, Ukrainian nazi forces killed a family, who were trying to leave the city of Mariupol. Then, they opened fire on other civilian cars.

Ukrainian state tv can publish or promote anything they want for the domestic audience. But when international media does it, and it gets debunked quickly, they lose credibility and that is dangerous in a potential WWIII type scenario.
