Cops Rescue 35 Girls Being Kept as ‘Sex Slaves’

 

Police in southeastern Nigeria said the teenagers, some as young as 14, were forced to have babies to be sold on the black market.

 

Nigerian police have rescued 35 teenage girls from what cops said was a “baby factory” in the southeastern state of Anambra.

 

The teenagers, four of whom are pregnant, were discovered in the Gally Gally hotel on Monday, where they were kept as “sex slaves [and] prostitution,” police spokespersonTochukwu Ikenga said in a press conference on Wednesday.

 

They are some of the dozens of women who have been rescued in recent years from so-called “baby factories” – illegal facilities where girls and women are forced to have babies to be sold on the black market.

 

“Following a rigorous analysis of crime trends and pattern, the command’s operatives, working on information, busted the hotel, where they use children between the ages of 14 and 17 years old for sex slaves, prostitution and baby factory,” Ikenga said.

 

“We also have the National Agency for Prohibition and Trafficking in Persons here, whom we shall hand over the victims to for the welfare and rehabilitation of the children. All suspects will be charged to court at the end of investigations.”

 

Some rescued girls also spoke at the press conference, describing how they were tricked into coming to the hotel under the promise of being able to secure regular work.

 

“I was lured into the business by a friend who did not tell me that we would be used as prostitutes,” one girl said. “I was told that I was coming to work as a sales girl, only to be trapped. I came there in August 2021. None of us could run away because of the guards there and the heavy security around us.”

 

The police say they have arrested multiple suspects, including security guards, but they are still searching for the hotel’s manager.

Ex-Trump Adviser Peter Navarro Pleads Not Guilty to Contempt of Congress Charges

 

Peter Navarro, a White House adviser during the Trump administration, pleaded not guilty on June 17 to contempt of Congress charges.

 

Navarro was hit with the misdemeanor charges earlier in June, after declining to cooperate with the House of Representatives panel investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, breach of the U.S. Capitol, citing executive privilege due to his former position at the White House.

 

Navarro had been representing himself before the issue turned into a criminal one.

 

“Obviously being put in leg irons and having people want to put me in prison have changed matters,” Navarro told reporters outside the federal courthouse in Washington.

 

Navarro has also said he was denied a call to a lawyer after being arrested, which prosecutors have denied.

 

During Friday’s hearing, Navarro’s attorneys asked for the trial to take place in 2023 so that constitutional questions surrounding the privilege invocation could be resolved, WUSA-TV reported.

 

They also said Navarro plans to go on a tour beginning in September promoting his new book, “Taking Back Trump’s America: Why We Lost the White House and How We’ll Win it Back.”

 

Prosecutors said the government was ready to start the trial sooner.

 

U.S. District Judge Amit Mehta set the start of the trial for Nov. 17, but indicated that might not be the final trial date.

 

Navarro is the second former Trump adviser charged for refusing to cooperate with the House Jan. 6 panel.

 

Steve Bannon, who has also cited privilege, was the first.

 

Bannon’s motion to dismiss the charges was rejected by U.S. District Court Judge Carl Nichols, a Trump appointee, this week.

 

Bannon’s attempts to subpoena House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.)—who appointed every member of the panel—and members of the panel, have not yet been ruled upon.

 

Two other former Trump aides who have resisted working with the panel have not been charged.

Democrats demand Google purge pro-life pregnancy centers from search results

 

Democratic lawmakers are demanding that Google remove pro-life pregnancy centers from search results when a pregnant woman searches online for an abortion clinic.

 

Thirteen senators and three members of the U.S. House, all Democrats, sent a letter to Google's parent company, Alphabet Inc., Friday urging the company to remove "fake clinics" and crisis pregnancy centers from search results when people do a Google search for "abortion clinic" or "abortion pill."

 

Virginia Sen. Mark Warner and Michigan Representative Elissa Slotkin were the top signatories on the letter, which was first reported by Reuters.

 

"Google should not be displaying anti-abortion fake clinics or crisis pregnancy centers in search results for users that are searching for an 'abortion clinic' or 'abortion pill,'" the lawmakers wrote.

 

"If Google must continue showing these misleading results in search results and Google Maps, the results should, at the very least, be appropriately labeled," they said.

With Plenty Of GOP Help, Senate Shoots Down Rand Paul's Balanced-Budget Resolution

 

Every few years, Kentucky Senator Rand Paul puts forth a quixotic proposal to balance the federal budget. It's not the financial math that makes it a daunting task, but rather Washington's bipartisan addiction to spending.

 

It predictably fails each time, but accomplishes two things in the process. First, it puts senators who've espoused fiscal discipline on the record as opposing it when the rubber meets the road. Second, over time, Paul's proposals illustrate the insidious effect of kicking the can down the road—as each new proposal requires bigger cuts to push Uncle Sam to breakeven.

 

Paul's first such budget resolution, in 2011, didn't even cut spending. By merely freezing it for five years, the budget was projected to reach balance this year.

 

In 2018, Paul put forth his "Penny Plan," which would balance the budget in five years by cutting just one cent out of every non-Social Security dollar for five consecutive years.

 

In 2019, the government's worsening fiscal condition forced the Penny Plan to become the "Pennies Plan," with the five-year plan now requiring consecutive 2-cents-per-dollar cuts for five years.

 

Things have gotten a lot worse. In just the two years since Paul's last proposal, our federal overlords have added an astounding $11 trillion to the national debt. Interest payments on the now-$30.5 trillion balance have grown by 32%. As a result, Paul's proposal this week required cutting six cents out each spending dollar for five years.

 

Bernie Sanders railed against what he described as "massive cuts to programs the American people need." However, as Paul noted in his own remarks, “All this plan does is return to 2019 spending levels. If the federal government spent at 2019 levels this year, we would have a $388 billion surplus."

 

The measure was defeated by a 67-29 vote. Faithful to their big government values, no Democrats backed the measure.

 

However, 17 "fiscally conservative" Republicans voted against it: Blunt (MO), Boozman (AZ), Burr (NC), Capito (WV), Collins (ME), Cornyn (TX), Graham (SC), Inhofe (OK), McConnell (KY), Murkowski (AR), Portman (OH), Rounds (SD), Sasse (NE), Shelby (AL), Thune (SD), Tillis (NC) and Young (IN).

 

Dodging Paul's intent to put everyone's true fiscal colors on the record, four Republicans skipped the vote altogether: Daines (MT), Moran (KS), Toomey (PA) and Wicker (MS).

 

Things were already bleak, but the fiscal math is now taking a sharp turn for the worse. Today's rising interest rates translate into more money required just to cover interest payments.

 

According to the Congressional Budget Office's latest baseline, interest expense will triple from nearly $400 billion in 2022 to $1.2 trillion in 2032—totaling $8.1 trillion over that horizon. As terrible as that sounds, it's going to be a major understatement.

 

That's because CBO's Treasury rate assumptions are in the midst of being mugged by reality. For its baseline, CBO assumes the 3-month T-bill rate will average 0.9% this calendar year, but it's already spiked to 1.69%. Similarly, CBO assumes the 10-year will average 2.4% in 2022 and only rise to 3.8% ten years from now. It was 3.28% on Thursday.

 

At least Rand Paul can say he tried.

Call it a conspiracy theory if you like, but I have read in more than one place that the hidden agenda of the US in Ukraine is to create a new homeland for people from Israel who want to migrate there in order to get out of what increasingly is becoming a failed state headed for collapse.

 

It’s easy to ridicule this theory, but I think there’s something to it.

 

Israel does look more and more like a failed state. It consists of a handful of Jewish people—fewer than nine million—clinging to a dry and inhospitable patch of rock and sand on the eastern Mediterranean coast, where they are isolated amid a vast human ocean of Muslim populations and culture.

 

I say this not as someone who is either anti-Semitic or an opponent of Israel. I am not anti-anyone nor an opponent of any people, ethnic group, or nation. In fact I am immensely sympathetic toward anyone caught up in the absurdities and violence of life in the world today.

 

But let’s be realistic. Look at Israel’s present condition. But first back up a bit. It’s a commonly-held belief that the British originally acquiesced in designating Palestine as a future homeland for Jewish people as an attempt to establish a pro-Western beachhead in a region rich in mineral wealth. Fast forward nearly a century to the US’s War on Terror, which has failed miserably. This was a campaign that was obviously meant to run interference for Israel in its emergence as a leading regional power within the Middle East, or maybe even a global power. Or at least to prevent it from being eventually obliterated by enemies on every side.

 

Look at the number of nations the War on Terror was meant to take out. According to US General Wesley Clark, the American hero of the bombing of Serbia in the late 1990s, the inventory of nations to be subjected to pro-US regime change was to include, with Afghanistan then already occupied, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Iran.

 

Now, the War on Terror has largely been abandoned after more than twenty wasted years at the cost of untold trillions of dollars. Though the US crushed and humiliated Iraq, that nation has come back to the point of legislating a complete ban, up to the death penalty, on any normalization of relations with Israel. Lebanon is an economic disaster, but is largely controlled by Israel’s arch-enemy Hezbollah. Iran remains independent and defiant, despite US threats and sanctions.

Every few years, Kentucky Senator Rand Paul puts forth a quixotic proposal to balance the federal budget. It's not the financial math that makes it a daunting task, but rather Washington's bipartisan addiction to spending.

 

It predictably fails each time, but accomplishes two things in the process. First, it puts senators who've espoused fiscal discipline on the record as opposing it when the rubber meets the road. Second, over time, Paul's proposals illustrate the insidious effect of kicking the can down the road—as each new proposal requires bigger cuts to push Uncle Sam to breakeven.

 

Paul's first such budget resolution, in 2011, didn't even cut spending. By merely freezing it for five years, the budget was projected to reach balance this year.

 

In 2018, Paul put forth his "Penny Plan," which would balance the budget in five years by cutting just one cent out of every non-Social Security dollar for five consecutive years.

 

In 2019, the government's worsening fiscal condition forced the Penny Plan to become the "Pennies Plan," with the five-year plan now requiring consecutive 2-cents-per-dollar cuts for five years.

 

Things have gotten a lot worse. In just the two years since Paul's last proposal, our federal overlords have added an astounding $11 trillion to the national debt. Interest payments on the now-$30.5 trillion balance have grown by 32%. As a result, Paul's proposal this week required cutting six cents out each spending dollar for five years.

 

Bernie Sanders railed against what he described as "massive cuts to programs the American people need." However, as Paul noted in his own remarks, “All this plan does is return to 2019 spending levels. If the federal government spent at 2019 levels this year, we would have a $388 billion surplus."

 

The measure was defeated by a 67-29 vote. Faithful to their big government values, no Democrats backed the measure.

 

However, 17 "fiscally conservative" Republicans voted against it: Blunt (MO), Boozman (AZ), Burr (NC), Capito (WV), Collins (ME), Cornyn (TX), Graham (SC), Inhofe (OK), McConnell (KY), Murkowski (AR), Portman (OH), Rounds (SD), Sasse (NE), Shelby (AL), Thune (SD), Tillis (NC) and Young (IN).

 

Dodging Paul's intent to put everyone's true fiscal colors on the record, four Republicans skipped the vote altogether: Daines (MT), Moran (KS), Toomey (PA) and Wicker (MS).

 

Things were already bleak, but the fiscal math is now taking a sharp turn for the worse. Today's rising interest rates translate into more money required just to cover interest payments.

 

According to the Congressional Budget Office's latest baseline, interest expense will triple from nearly $400 billion in 2022 to $1.2 trillion in 2032—totaling $8.1 trillion over that horizon. As terrible as that sounds, it's going to be a major understatement.

 

That's because CBO's Treasury rate assumptions are in the midst of being mugged by reality. For its baseline, CBO assumes the 3-month T-bill rate will average 0.9% this calendar year, but it's already spiked to 1.69%. Similarly, CBO assumes the 10-year will average 2.4% in 2022 and only rise to 3.8% ten years from now. It was 3.28% on Thursday.

 

At least Rand Paul can say he tried.

To have any value, individual rights must belong wholly to the people. If personal freedoms were understood as nothing more than “gifts” from the government to the people, then they would be reduced to mere “privileges” either granted or denied according to the state’s prerogative. For unalienable natural rights to have substantive meaning, they must be inherently possessed by individual Americans, immune from the vagaries of government whim.

 

For free speech, the right to self-defense, freedom from unreasonable search and seizure, and due process to protect Americans ably from the potential threats of government tyranny, they must exist irrespective of any government action seeking their dilution or outright abrogation. Whereas man-made laws may sway from side to side when a nation faces heavy winds, it is imperative that unalienable natural rights never bend.

“I feel like with these tools, there’s some backdoor to access user data in almost all of them,” said an external auditor hired to help TikTok close off Chinese access to sensitive information, like Americans’ birthdays and phone numbers.

For years, TikTok has responded to data privacy concerns by promising that information gathered about users in the United States is stored in the United States, rather than China, where ByteDance, the video platform's parent company, is located. But according to leaked audio from more than 80 internal TikTok meetings, China-based employees of ByteDance have repeatedly accessed nonpublic data about US TikTok users — exactly the type of behavior that inspired former president Donald Trump to threaten to ban the app in the United States.

The recordings, which were reviewed by BuzzFeed News, contain 14 statements from nine different TikTok employees indicating that engineers in China had access to US data between September 2021 and January 2022, at the very least. Despite a TikTok executive’s sworn testimony in an October 2021 Senate hearing that a “world-renowned, US-based security team” decides who gets access to this data, nine statements by eight different employees describe situations where US employees had to turn to their colleagues in China to determine how US user data was flowing. US staff did not have permission or knowledge of how to access the data on their own, according to the tapes.

“Everything is seen in China,” said a member of TikTok’s Trust and Safety department in a September 2021 meeting. In another September meeting, a director referred to one Beijing-based engineer as a “Master Admin” who “has access to everything.” (While many employees introduced themselves by name and title in the recordings, BuzzFeed News is not naming anyone to protect their privacy.)

The recordings range from small-group meetings with company leaders and consultants to policy all-hands presentations and are corroborated by screenshots and other documents, providing a vast amount of evidence to corroborate prior reports of China-based employees accessing US user data. Their contents show that data was accessed far more frequently and recently than previously reported, painting a rich picture of the challenges the world’s most popular social media app has faced in attempting to disentangle its US operations from those of its parent company in Beijing. Ultimately, the tapes suggest that the company may have misled lawmakers, its users, and the public by downplaying that data stored in the US could still be accessed by employees in China.

In response to an exhaustive list of examples and questions about data access, TikTok spokesperson Maureen Shanahan responded with a short statement: "We know we're among the most scrutinized platforms from a security standpoint, and we aim to remove any doubt about the security of US user data. That's why we hire experts in their fields, continually work to validate our security standards, and bring in reputable, independent third parties to test our defenses." ByteDance did not provide additional comment.

In 2019, the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States began investigating the national security implications of TikTok’s collection of American data. And in 2020, then-president Donald Trump threatened to ban the app entirely over concerns that the Chinese government could use ByteDance to amass dossiers of personal information about US TikTok users. TikTok’s “data collection threatens to allow the Chinese Communist Party access to Americans’ personal and proprietary information,” Trump wrote in his executive order. TikTok has said it has never shared user data with the Chinese government and would not do so if asked.

Most of the recorded meetings focus on TikTok’s response to these concerns. The company is currently attempting to redirect its pipes so that certain, “protected” data can no longer flow out of the United States and into China, an effort known internally as Project Texas. In the recordings, the vast majority of situations where China-based staff accessed US user data were in service of Project Texas's aim to halt this data access.

Project Texas is key to a contract that TikTok is currently negotiating with cloud services provider Oracle and CFIUS. Under the CFIUS agreement, TikTok would hold US users’ protected private information, like phone numbers and birthdays, exclusively at a data center managed by Oracle in Texas (hence the project name).Oracle did not respond to a request for comment. CFIUS declined to comment….

As her career came apart and her relationships began to crumble, she picked my family — in particular, my son — to blame for her self-inflicted travails.

 

She began posting pornographic entries about a 2-year-old boy. She began making public accusations that my wife and I were molesting my son.

 

Pretending to be a reporter, she contacted my mother, asking for comment about my impending arrest for child molestation. She dug up my father’s obituary and went on an on about sexualized “tykes” and “dead kikes.”

 

We’d received an order of protection against her, but bc she lived out of state, the law couldn’t touch her. She’d begun attacking the lawyers who’d helped me or represented me. She attacked the judges.

 

All of this continued until right around 2014, when a detective in my small town found a legal means to being charges, citing an Online harassment law that has been passed in the intervening years.

 

To make a long story short, this woman was able to evade consequences for 12 years. She reported me to DHS as a terror threat, claiming I was making ricin (she also posted this on a community message board, …warning parents to keep their kids away from my house on Halloween.

 

She’d been able to find where we lived using voter records. She called the surrounding schools warning them that I was a pedophile and that my son was in danger. She contacted child services. She contacted my wife’s place of employment.

 

Ultimately, after years of effort, we were finally able to see her convicted on multiple felony charges. This happened after CO had her extradited twice. In August, she’ll likely be paroled after serving 2 years of a six year sentence.

 

— which means that for 14 years, prior to her felony convictions, had she phoned in an anonymous “tip” on me, she may have convinced a judge to file an ex parte order requiring me to surrender my weapons.

 

I took us 14 years to get her convicted of clear crimes. I’ve been through the legal system.

 

Red flag laws will almost certainly be abused by those who figure out how to work the system.

 

They will create victims where before none existed. They punish the law-abiding and benefit the vindictive, the cruel, the disinterested, and the bureaucratic …apparatus, further clogging up an already glacially-moving legal system and costing the accused time, money, worry, and liberty.

 

Reject them. And consider those who promote them your enemies.

Vince McMahon "voluntarily stepped back" from his role as WWE CEO and chairman while its board investigates alleged misconduct, the company said Friday.

 

Stephanie McMahon, Vince’s daughter, was named interim CEO and interim chairwoman. Vince McMahon will retain his role in regards to WWE’s creative content.

 

"I have pledged my complete cooperation to the investigation by the Special Committee, and I will do everything possible to support the investigation. I have also pledged to accept the findings and outcome of the investigation, whatever they are," he said in a statement.

 

Stephanie McMahon added: "I love this company and am committed to working with the Independent Directors to strengthen our culture and our Company; it is extremely important to me that we have a safe and collaborative workplace. I have committed to doing everything in my power to help the Special Committee complete its work, including marshaling the cooperation of the entire company to assist in the completion of the investigation and to implement its findings."

 

According to The Wall Street Journal, McMahon was under investigation from the company’s board for an alleged secret $3 million payment to a former employee he supposedly had an affair with.

 

The 12-member board, which also includes McMahon’s daughter, Stephanie McMahon, and son-in-law Paul Levesque (better known as Triple H), learned of the alleged settlement agreement from anonymous emails from someone who claimed to be a friend of the woman, who was a paralegal at WWE, The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday.

 

An email was reportedly sent to the board March 30 and claimed the woman’s salary was increased after McMahon began a "sexual relationship with her" and then McMahon "gave her like a toy" to the head of talent relations, John Laurinaitis. WWE said the board is also investigating Laurinaitis.

 

According to the Wall Street Journal, a separation agreement was reached that bars the former employee from discussing the relationship or disparaging McMahon. The woman was first hired in 2019.

 

The board’s investigation into the issue began in April, when other nondisclosure agreements over misconduct claims from former workers against McMahon and Laurinaitis were revealed, according to the report.

 

A letter to the paper from McMahon’s lawyer, Jerry McDevitt, said the woman hadn’t made any claims of harassment against McMahon, and the company "did not pay any monies" to the woman "on her departure."

 

"WWE and its Board of Directors take all allegations of misconduct very seriously," the company said in Friday’s news release. "The Independent Directors of the Board engaged independent legal counsel to assist them with an independent review. In addition, the Special Committee and WWE will work with an independent third-party to conduct a comprehensive review of the company’s compliance program, HR function and overall culture."

The City Council’s LGBTQIA+ Caucus is demanding Palladino be censured and removed from her committee assignments.

 

“We urge the Council to take immediate action by censuring this member and removing her from her committee assignments,” co-chairs Crystal Hudson and Tiffany Cabán said in a statement. “This is not an issue of ideological differences, but a question of our collective belief in all New Yorkers’ right to an existence free from discrimination.”

 

Brooklyn Councilmember Chi Ossé warns Palladino is a bigot.

New Jersey School District Sued for Racism Against White Students

 

A New Jersey parent has filed a federal lawsuit against a New Jersey school district alleging racism against white students, particularly son.

 

The lawsuit, filed by someone identified only as B.L., alleges that the Mountain Lakes school district has created a hostile school environment since June 6, 2020 — around the beginning of the Black Lives Matter riots over the death of George Floyd.

 

According to a report from NorthJersey.com, the complaint says that the school district has engaged in “a campaign of open racial discrimination” and “forced a racial political ideology” on students with their “ill-named ‘anti-racist’ agenda.”

 

“The suit demands that the district not be allowed to apply or receive federal funds until it stops the accused ‘racially discriminatory practices’ as well as stops supporting programs claiming white privilege and systemic injustices,” the report explains.

 

The parent says that the teachings violate her son, and other white students’ right not to be discriminated against based on their race.

 

Following the death of Floyd, the lawsuit says that former Mountain Lakes High School Principal Frank Sanchez emailed parents a pamphlet titled “Seeking Justice from Reflection to Action” and condemned racism. Within the pamphlet, the school discussed how there is “institutional racism” within the district.

 

The parent alleges that the principal also sent students a video that he described as a “call to arms” against “white privilege.”

 

The report explains that the parent argues that assertion of white privilege “constitutes illegal indoctrination of racist tropes which are more suitable for a totalitarian ‘re-education camp’ than for a New Jersey public school.”

 

Ronald A, Berutti, the attorney representing B.L. released a statement on behalf of his client, which read as follows:

 

“For two years, I have been in dialogue with the Mountain Lakes School Distrct about a basic discrimination matter. I believe the Mountain Lakes School District was influenced by prevailing national narrative and local social groups to advance specific messaging that is not fair and equal to all students. I am concerned that the school district works with selected groups in private meetings and via email without transparency and input from all parents in a public forum.”

 

“Even in times of national turmoil, the school district must adhere to district policy and follow state and federal laws. It is unfortunate that we live in a time when holding our public institutions accountable is met in our community – and our country – by intimidation and personal attacks. My intent is not political and not intended to start a movement. It is simply for our schools to follow policy and law and stop discriminatory practices.”

 

“My family has unfortunately been subject to harsh judgement, name calling and intimidation. We are humbled and appreciative of the support of so many in our town and throughout the state who have raised similar questions in their school districts but are afraid to speak up for fear of retribution. It is my hope that this matter is resolved for the sake of the next generation.”

Ten Years Later: Over 53K Illegal Aliens Given DACA Despite Arrest Records Including for Murder, Rape, Kidnapping

 

Ten years ago, in 2012, former President Barack Obama created the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program via executive order that has allowed nearly 800,000 illegal aliens to evade arrest and deportation.

 

Standards for the Obama program were set so low that tens of thousands of illegal aliens with prior arrest records for crimes like murder, rape, and kidnapping were able to secure DACA status.

 

In 2018, then-President Trump’s administration released comprehensive data on DACA, previously hidden by the Obama administration, that revealed the extent to which the program had successfully helped shield criminal illegal aliens from arrest and deportation by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency.

 

From 2012 to 2018, about 53,792 illegal aliens were awarded DACA despite having prior arrest records. Meanwhile, nearly 8,000 illegal aliens awarded DACA were later arrested for crimes, the data shows.

 

For instance, thousands of illegal aliens were given DACA status despite arrests for drug crimes, assault, burglary, gun crimes, money laundering, hit-and-run, sexual abuse, child pornography, and robbery, among others.

 

More than 30 illegal aliens were given DACA status despite having previously been arrested for rape. Ten illegal aliens, likewise, were awarded DACA after having been arrested for murder and 95 illegal aliens after having been arrested for kidnapping.

In 2019, for example, 23-year-old illegal alien Jesus Manzanilla Alvarado was given just six months in prison after having been convicted of repeatedly sexually assaulting a 68-year-old hospital patient who was suffering from anxiety and depression in St. Cloud, Minnesota.

 

Alvarado had been awarded DACA years prior, ICE officials confirmed at the time, and had multiple run-ins with the law. DACA allowed him to secure a job and remain in the U.S.

Elon Musk Sued for $258 Billion Over Alleged Dogecoin Pyramid Scheme

 

NEW YORK—Elon Musk was sued for $258 billion on Thursday by a Dogecoin investor who accused him of running a pyramid scheme to support the cryptocurrency.

 

In a complaint filed in federal court in Manhattan, plaintiff Keith Johnson accused Musk, electric car company Tesla Inc. and space tourism company SpaceX of racketeering for touting Dogecoin and driving up its price, only to then let the price tumble.

 

Musk is CEO of both Tesla and SpaceX.

 

“Defendants were aware since 2019 that Dogecoin had no value yet promoted Dogecoin to profit from its trading,” the complaint said. “Musk used his pedestal as World’s Richest man to operate and manipulate the Dogecoin Pyramid Scheme for profit, exposure, and amusement.”

 

The complaint also aggregates comments from Warren Buffett, Bill Gates, and others questioning the value of cryptocurrency.

 

Tesla, SpaceX, and a lawyer for Musk did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

 

A lawyer for Johnson did not immediately respond to requests for comment on what specific evidence his client has or expects to have that proves Dogecoin is worthless and the defendants ran a pyramid scheme.

 

Johnson is seeking $86 billion in damages, representing the decline in Dogecoin’s market value since May 2021, and wants it tripled.

 

He also wants to block Musk and his companies from promoting Dogecoin and a judge to declare that trading Dogecoin is gambling under federal and New York law.

 

The complaint said Dogecoin’s selloff began around the time Musk hosted the NBC show “Saturday Night Live and, playing a fictitious financial expert on a “Weekend Update” segment, called Dogecoin “a hustle.”

 

Tesla in February 2021 said it had bought $1.5 billion of bitcoin and for a short time accepted it as payment for vehicles.

Top US Energy Officials Appear To Be Stonewalling FOIA Requests For Secret White House Meetings

 

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has appeared to stonewall an information request from the Institute for Energy Research (IER) asking for correspondence between Chairman Richard Glick and White House officials in light of the agency’s recent climate-related pipeline policies.

“I am concerned about an apparent lack of transparency at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission,” IER President Tom Pyle wrote to Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee leadership on May 25.

“Given that the White House has announced their intention to nominate Chairman Glick to another full term on the commission, it is of the utmost importance that this committee determine whether Commissioner Glick was indeed being truthful when he denied any White House involvement in the development of the controversial pipeline policy statements,” Pyle said.

 

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has appeared to put off an information request related to the agency’s communications with White House officials.

 

The Institute for Energy Research (IER), a Washington, D.C.-based energy policy group, requested copies of all email correspondence between FERC Chairman Richard Glick and the White House beginning in September 2021, in a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request dated March 29, according to documents shared with The Daily Caller News Foundation. The IER filed the request after Glick said under oath, during a March 3 Senate hearing, that he hadn’t consulted with any Biden administration higher-ups about implementing policies blocking domestic natural gas pipeline development.

 

“Absolutely not,” Glick — who President Joe Biden nominated to lead the commission in early 2021 — said in response to a question from Republican Louisiana Sen. Bill Cassidy about potential communications with “anyone higher up in the administration” regarding FERC’s recent pipeline policy proposal.

 

On Feb. 17, the Democratic-majority FERC approved two measures to require more stringent climate and greenhouse gas emissions analyses of natural gas pipelines prior to approval. Glick characterized the policy change as “long overdue” in a statement at the time.

 

IER asked FERC to provide Glick’s correspondence with the White House by April 26, 20 weekdays after filings the FOIA request. However, nearly three months have elapsed since the initial FOIA request, FERC has delayed its response and IER said the agency has yet to provide the documents

 

IER President Tom Pyle said he was concerned the commission was employing delaying tactics to avoid complying with the information request in a letter to Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee Chairman Joe Manchin and Ranking Member John Barrasso on May 25.

 

“I am concerned about an apparent lack of transparency at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission,” he wrote to the senators on May 25.

 

“Despite FERC’s own tracking numbers indicating its FOIA officer is not overburdened, and despite a history of being a remarkably timely processor of FOIA requests, FERC has failed to offer even the most basic required information in response to any of IER’s FOIA requests,” Pyle continued. “FERC has instead offered what appear to be delaying tactics.”

In its attempt to blame former President Donald Trump for the crimes committed on January 6, 2021, at the U.S. Capitol, House Democrats have spent the week focused on Trump’s unsupported claims of widespread election fraud. The Jan. 6 select committee and the legacy media outlets promoting the show trial completely ignore, however, the verifiable evidence of systemic violations of election law, illegal voting, and the constitutionally deficient execution of the November 2020 election—including issues Trump challenged following the election.

 

Georgia provides a peach of an example. President Biden won Georgia and the state’s 16 electoral votes by a margin of 11,779 individual votes, but before the state certified the results of the November 2020 election, Trump challenged the outcome, raising several issues both in and out of court. Trump hammered accusations of fraud in Fulton County, claiming counterfeit ballots secreted in suitcases and vote-flipping by Dominion Voting Systems gave Biden the victory. But Trump also contested the Georgia results based on evidence indicating that tens of thousands of illegal votes were improperly counted.

 

While Trump’s legal team argued illegal votes in some 30-plus categories were improperly included in the final election tally, violations of Section 21-2-218 of the Georgia election code alone closed the gap between the two presidential candidates. That section provides that state “residents must vote in the county in which they reside, unless they changed their residence within 30 days of the election” and “outside of the 30-day grace period, if people vote in a county in which they no longer reside, ‘their vote in that county would be illegal.’”

 

Shortly after the November general election, Mark Davis, the president of Data Productions Inc. and an expert in voter data analytics and residency issues, compared voting records obtained from the Georgia secretary of state’s office with the National Change of Address (NCOA) database. After excluding individuals who moved within 30 days of the general election, Davis “identified nearly 35,000 Georgia voters who indicated they had moved from one Georgia county to another, but then voted in the 2020 general election in the county from which they had moved.”

 

Trump highlighted this evidence during a telephone conversation with Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger. His election lawyers, he said, noted from that data they “have actually hard numbers” of tens of thousands of votes that were counted illegally, and that with the margin of victory less than 12,000, “that in and of itself is sufficient to change the results or place the outcome in doubt.”
