Military Holds Drills for Hypersonic Missile Attack, Fallout on U.S. Cities

A military training exercise recently prepared troops to aid in the aftermath of potential hypersonic missile attacks on U.S. cities.

Hundreds of military members and emergency workers gathered in Philadelphia last week to simulate the aftermath of a simultaneous hypersonic missile strike on Philadelphia, New York City and Chicago, according to the Army Times. The Dense Urban Terrain (DUT) exercise imagines a hypothetical scenario the military calls "America's worst day." Emergency workers and soldiers aided at least 150 role players sporting fake wounds and acting out potential symptoms from an unknown chemical, biological, radiological or nuclear (CBRN) attack.

The DUT exercise was led by Army National Guard's Task Force 46, which mainly includes soldiers from the Michigan National Guard. Over 600 additional personnel from federal, state, local, academic and private partners took part in the three-day exercise, according to the Guard.

Ammo Companies Say Packages Shipped With UPS Mysteriously Go "Missing"

Bearing Arms reported several firearm-related companies had their corporate accounts canceled by UPS. Not only that, but some of these companies also have had packages damaged or lost while in transit to customers.

One ammunition distribution company called "The Gun Food" reported out of a recent 18,000 rounds of ammunition shipped with UPS, only 6,000 made it to the end destination.

Collins, who owns the ammo company, remains suspicious that many packages he shipped via UPS have been damaged or lost. He said UPS had pinned the mishaps on his company for not correctly packaging the shipments. The carrier also said he had recently filed many claims on packages not getting delivered.

"They're not even making it. And I don't know what they are doing in the facilities, if they are purposefully damaging them. However, they are not making it to the customer. Now for every batch that does ship, we actually ship everything insured. And usually, depending on the quantity or the value of the shipment, we'll ship it with some type of signature required. So it's funny when they try to say, 'well, you know, you put in too many claims.' And it's like, 'well, no, I didn't put in too many claims. Well, our customer never received their package that we had shipped,'" Collins.

Bearing Arms pointed out that Lee Williams over at the Gun Writer Substack, AmmoLand News, and the Second Amendment Foundation Investigative Journalism Project has also covered this phenomenon of firearm-related companies having problems with UPS.

UPS cancelling gun dealers’ accounts, destroying packages in transit

United Parcel Service is terminating the accounts of gun dealers across the country. Any packages currently in the UPS system may be “seized and destroyed.”

In a letter sent to one Florida gun dealer, Ghost Firearms, UPS said they were terminating the account because they “may be violating” laws concerning homemade firearm parts.

“We write to inform you that UPS has learned that your company may be violating applicable laws concerning the shipment of “ghost guns” to unauthorized locations,” the letter states. “In light of our concern, UPS has determined that it will cancel your account, effective immediately.

Ghost’s owner, Joe Zatar was told all scheduled pickups will be cancelled, and that he cannot reopen another UPS account or ship anything from a UPS store or website.

He is most concerned about the packages already in the UPS system, which he may have already lost.

“Please note that any package found in the UPS system determined to have been tendered by GHOST FIREARMS may be seized and destroyed,” the letter states.

“I just shipped more than $30,000 worth of products,” he said.

Zatar immediately called his UPS sales rep, who said he had no idea the account was terminated.

Ghost Firearms sells uppers, lowers, handguards and OEM parts for a number of manufacturers. They also sell 80% receivers.

“We do not ship to states where they’re not allowed,” Zatar said. “We are in total compliance. We had ATF in here just two weeks ago, and they told us we were completely legal.”

Retail giant Brownells told their customers in a Fake-Fact-Checker Facebook post Friday that they too were terminated by UPS.

“Heads up! UPS has made the decision to no longer accept Brownells packages,” the post states. “We are working to put an email together to send to customers who have their account defaulted to UPS, or who have open orders with UPS selected as the carrier.”

Brownells did not specify in their post the reason why UPS terminated their account, and they removed the post after a few hours.

UPS’ Media Relations personnel did not return calls or emails seeking comment for this story.
